Steve Bannon is taking on Elon Musk and has vowed to keep him out of the White House when President-elect Donald Trump returns.

 

Bannon blasted Musk for his pro-H1B visa positions, as well as his post on X calling Trump supporters “racists and retards” in the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.

 

“I will have Elon Musk run out of here by Inauguration Day,” Bannon said. “He will not have a blue pass to the White House, he will not have full access to the White House, he will be like any other person.”

 

“He is a truly evil guy, a very bad guy. I made it my personal thing to take this guy down,” Bannon continued. “Before, because he put money in, I was prepared to tolerate it; I’m not prepared to tolerate it anymore.”

 

Musk has vowed to “go to war” to defend the H1B visa program, which allows companies to bring cheap workers over from other nations — primarily India.

 

“This thing of the H-1B visas, it’s about the entire immigration system is gamed by the tech overlords, they use it to their advantage, the people are furious,” Bannon said. He also pointed out, “76 percent of engineers working in Silicon Valley are non-Americans.”

 

“No blacks or Hispanics have any of these jobs or any access to these jobs,” the War Room host continued.

 

“Peter Thiel, David Sachs, Elon Musk, are all white South Africans,” Bannon observed. “He should go back to South Africa. Why do we have South Africans, the most racist people on earth, white South Africans, we have them making any comments at all on what goes on in the United States?”

 

“We have been fighting this fight for ten years,” he stated. “We are going to expose the entire corruption of the American system, of how money controls everything and hopefully we’ll inspire you in Italy to wake up.”

 

Bannon noted that Musk “just had a huge defeat here in America,” as he was completely blasted by Trump supporters over the H1B issue.

 

“He went out of his way to mock our movement as racist and retards, and he lost,” Bannon said. “We blew him out of the water. He won’t fight. He’s got the maturity of a little boy.”

 

Musk’s meltdown over the issue caused a “tremendous loss of credibility here in the United States, and quite frankly, the people around Trump are tired of it,” Bannon said.

 

Musk’s goals, according to Bannon, do not align with the interests of average Americans as he just wants to become a trillionaire.

 

“He will do anything to make sure that any one of his companies is protected or has a better deal or he makes more money. His aggregation of wealth, and then — through wealth — power: that’s what he’s focused on,” Bannon said.

 

While conceding that the donations to Trump have been a positive thing, Bannon pointed out that his “techno-feudalism” is not.

 

“What’s not positive is when all of a sudden he tries to put his half-baked ideas which are really about the implementation of techno-feudalism on a global scale. I don’t support that and we’ll fight it.”

Zelensky claims he wants peace deal in 2025

An agreement should come with security guarantees from Kiev’s Western backers, the Ukrainian leader has stressed

 

Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky has expressed his desire to secure a peace agreement with Russia within the year, but emphasized that Kiev requires strong security guarantees from Western backers as key to any deal. He made the remarks during an interview with Italian broadcaster Rai News 24, released on Friday.

 

Zelensky has long insisted that Kiev needs firm security assurances to achieve long-term peace, naming membership of NATO as the best option. Moscow, however, has argued that Ukraine’s NATO aspirations were among the root causes of the conflict, and maintains that any settlement must result in the country’s neutrality, demilitarization, and denazification.

 

“It is our wish to get [security] guarantees and to end the war this year, we will do anything for this,”

 

Zelensky said. He mentioned the urgency of restoring peace, claiming that Ukraine wants it “more than anyone else” because “we lose more than everyone else, especially with regard to people.” However, he insisted that security guarantees must come first.

 

“This is for the protection of Ukraine… and the whole of Europe… So that Russia will not return again with aggression,” Zelensky said. He also accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of aiming to destroy Ukraine, a charge Moscow has brushed aside as ridiculous.

 

Zelensky stated he is looking forward to US President-elect Donald Trump’s return to office, as he expects him to help bring the conflict to an end.

 

“Trump will be very important in [peace talks] mediation. His team has already started contacts,” Zelensky explained. Trump has often claimed he can end the conflict within 24 hours. However, speaking from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida earlier this week, the president-elect said it might take up to six months after taking office to help Moscow and Kiev reach a deal. Trump has not provided specifics on how he would achieve a settlement, though reports suggest his team is considering freezing the current battle lines.

 

Zelenskyhas previously questioned Trump’s claims about ending the conflict swiftly,arguing that “there are no people today in the world who could just have a word with Putin and end the war.” He also opposed Trump’s reported plans to persuade Kiev to cede claims to its former territories, insisting that Ukraine’s territorial integrity should be part of any settlement. (Z challenging Trump was the worst mistake he's made thus far.)

 

Moscow has long stated it is open to talks but maintained that any deal must begin with Ukraine ceasing military operations and acknowledging the “territorial reality” that it will not regain control of regions that chose to join Russia. Moscow has also rejected the idea of a temporary truce, arguing that freezing the conflict would allow Kiev to regroup and prepare for further hostilities.

Is anyone else sick of this Trump/Obama blip? Quite frankly I don’t like seeing Trump chop it up with him. unless LA agrees to give up the 2028 Olympics and dedicate ALL CONSTRUCTION to the ones who were burned out through negligence of government, they should not be given any federal dollars to rebuild.

When Jimmy Carter and I spoke about UFOs

I have a story I can tell now about an off-the-record conversation I once had with the late Jimmy Carter, about one of the great human controversies: UFOs.

Back in what my daughters now call the "late 1900s" we did a story on a support group at a New York hospital, for people who believed they had been abducted and brought aboard alien spacecraft.

I liked the people, even as I questioned their accounts.

 

I recalled that in 1973 when he was governor of Georgia, Jimmy Carter reported that he had once seen a UFO.

"It didn't have any solid substance to it," he said in filed statement, "it was just a very peculiar-looking light."

I phoned a contact, some messages went back and forth and, within days, the former president's familiar voice was on the line.

 

This is totally off-the-record, I assured Mr. Carter. "But you were president for four years. You had access to all the national security intelligence.

Could these people be right? Mr. President, is there anything we should know?"

 

The president chuckled and replied, "No. But remember," he added, "a UFO is simply something we haven't identified.

There are dozens of unexplained incursions of our airspace every year. They're usually some experiment.

You'd be surprised," he said, "how often the Navy doesn't know what the Air Force is up to, and so forth."

 

"So based on what you've seen," I ventured, "you have no reason to think there's life… out there?"

"I don't know that," Mr. Carter gently corrected me. "But if there is, it has nothing to do with UFOs.

If there's some other civilization out there, I doubt they'd send big, bulky airships. They'd probably just keep watch and leave us alone."

 

I was struck by President Carter's thoughtfulness, and chanced a last question.

"But if there were other civilizations out there," I asked, "would the government have to keep it a secret? So we wouldn't panic, or feel worthless?"

 

"The way I see it," said Jimmy Carter, "there's nothing to fear. If there is life out there, we're still all part of the same master plan. God's hands are big enough to hold us both."

As America paid tribute to Jimmy Carter this week, I thought of our brief conversation years ago as a blessing — and a glimpse into his open, indomitable heart.

Former French European Commissioner Thierry Breton has essentially openly confessed that the West stole the Romanian election and stands ready to do it again in Germany if deemed necessary.

Trump expected to have call with Putin soon – Waltz

Preparations for ameeting between the two presidents are underway, the incoming US national security adviser says

 

Phone talksbetween US President-elect Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putinare expected withinthe “coming days and weeks,”incoming US National Security Adviser Michael Waltz believes.

 

The potential call could serve as the foundation for further negotiations and an in-person meeting between Trump and Putin, Waltz told ABC News on Sunday.

 

“We have not set an exact framework for it, yet we’re working on that. But I do expect a call at least in the coming days and weeks. That will be a step and we’ll take it from there,” Waltz said.

 

The incoming senior official did not provide any estimates on when the meeting between the two leaders would occur, stating only that preparations are underway.

 

Previously, Trump said a meeting with Putin was being prepared, signaling that it would not likely materialize until after he is inaugurated on January 20.Moscow has repeatedly signaled its readiness to communicate with the incoming US presidentas well, noting, however, that no exact details on when or where the meeting would take place have been ironed out.

Preparations for talks between US President-elect Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin are underway, incoming US National Security Adviser Michael Waltz has said.Phone conversations between the two are expected to occur in the “coming days and weeks,” Waltz believes.

 

The incoming senior official made the remarks on Sunday in an interview with ABC News’ Jonathan Karl. Asked how soon the Trump-Putin meeting could happen, Waltz did not provide estimates.

 

“The preparations are underway,” he said. It remains unclear whether the potential meeting between Trump and Putin would involve anyone else beyond the two, Waltz added. However, phone talks are expected to occur shortly, he said.

We were gifted a small battery powered snow blower just in time for the snow we had. I didn’t think I would care for it since i already have a gasoline powered large blower for our long driveway, but thething is pretty handy for clearing off paved areas if there is less than 4 inches. I bet a lawn over would work great at clearing an area quickly if there were only a few inches of snow.

Roughly 12,000 far-left ‘Anti’-Fascists attacked the convention of the opposition AfD party in Riesa, East Germany, Saturday, erecting roadblocks, attacking vehicles, and demanding ID while police looked on. The so-called ‘Anti’-Fascists proudly posted about their attacks on German democracy.

 

The military-trained Black Bloc militia was bussed in from around Germany on over 200 busses by George Soros-funded NGO “Campact”.

 

The AfD is currently the second-most popular party in Germany, gaining another 2% in the two days since Elon Musk’s X Space with party chair Alice Weidel (pron.: “Vydel”) last Thursday, to 22%. Weidel’s armored Mercedes limousine was attacked by about 30 violent ‘Anti“-Fascists on her way to the convention in Riesa, Saxony.

The massive attack on democracy was organized and funded by the left-wing network around George Soros funded “Campact”, the German version of Soros/Podesta funded “MoveOn.” Campact published lists of busses transporting their street guerilla to Riesa on the website “widersetzen” (Resist). “Campact Democracy Foundation” was funded with $300,000 by the Open Society Foundations in 2021.

CDC Warns of Rise in Rare ‘Rabbit Fever’ Disease Spreading in the US

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is warning of a rise in tularemia, or “rabbit fever,” cases in the United States.

 

The zoonotic bacterial disease is often spread through tick and deer fly bites.

 

Fox News reports:

 

Caused by the bacteria Francisella tularensis, the disease commonly infects rabbits, hares and rodents. However, it is zoonotic, which means it can spread from animals to humans.

 

The bacteria is a “tier-1 select agent,” a classification given to agents and toxins that “present the greatest risk of deliberate misuse with significant potential for mass casualties or devastating effects to the economy, critical infrastructure or public confidence, and pose a severe threat to public health and safety,” per the CDC.

 

Although tularemia is relatively rare, with only 2,462 diagnoses between 2011 and 2022, cases have risen 56% compared to the prior decade (2001 to 2010), as reported in the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.

 

“Increased reporting of probable cases might be associated with an actual increase in human infection, improved tularemia detection or both,” the CDC report says.

 

Symptoms can include myalgia, chest discomfort, cough, severe sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, chills, headache, malaise, fatigue, and anorexia.

According to the CDC, the most common form of the disease causes “a skin ulcer” at the site “where the bacteria entered the body. The ulcer is accompanied by swelling of regional lymph glands, usually in the armpit or groin.”

 

“Tularemia can be difficult to diagnose. It is a rare disease, and the symptoms can be mistaken for other, more common illnesses. For this reason, it is important to share with your health care provider any likely exposures, such as tick and deer fly bites, or contact with sick or dead animals,” the CDC explained.

 

The death rate is normally low, less than two percent. It can be treated with antibiotics.

The California wildfires could be leaving deeper inequality in their wake

 

The sight of celebrity mansions and movie landmarks reduced to ashes can make it seem like the wildfires roaring through the Los Angeles area affected a constellation of movie stars.

 

But a drive through the charred neighborhoods around Altadena shows that the fires also burned through a remarkable haven for generations of Black families avoiding discriminatory housing practices elsewhere. They have been communities of racial and economic diversity, where many people own their own homes.

 

Some now fear the most destructive fires in California’s history have altered that for good. Recovery and rebuilding may be out of reach for many, and pressures of gentrification could be renewed.

Elon Musk’s $1M Election Giveaway Went to a Campaign Worker.

 

During the 2024 presidential campaign, tech billionaire Elon Musk offered a $1 million prize for those who signed an online petition. The winner, however, appears to be a Michigan man who actually worked on President-elect Donald J. Trump’s campaign.

 

The prize was awarded to Tyler VanAkin from Reading, Michigan. Musk funded the contest through America PAC, a pro-Trump super PAC, and it was designed to distribute daily cash rewards of up to $1 million to voters in swing states. Participants needed to sign an online petition in support of free speech and gun rights.

 

Initially thought to be random, the selection process came under legal scrutiny when it was revealed it was not a ‘lottery.’ Philadelphia County District Attorney Larry Krasner filed a lawsuit against Musk and America PAC, describing the initiative as an illegal lottery.

Judge Angelo Foglietta, however, allowed the contest to proceed in Pennsylvania, ruling that the giveaway did not fulfill the legal criteria of a lottery since winners were not chosen at random.

 

Testimony from the PAC’s treasurer revealed that winners were chosen through a multi-step selection process. Musk’s attorneys explained that winners were assessed based on their “suitability” to serve as spokesmen for the PAC, as opposed to being lucky lottery winners.

 

The last winner, VanAkin, is linked to the Trump campaign. Financial records indicate he received significant payments for his role in preparing Trump’s campaign events. He was paid over $14,200 for his work as a consultant and more than $16,300 for travel reimbursements.

 

VanAkin also attended campaign events, including Trump’s election night event in West Palm Beach, Florida. America PAC’s year-end filing lists VanAkin’s $1 million payment on November 12, 2024, as compensation for being a “spokesperson consultant.”

Huge 'alien-like' insect to emerge from 17-year slumber this year

An 'annoying' alien-like insect is set to emerge from a 17-year slumber and wreak havoc across multiple US states this year, scientists have warned.

Billions of 'Brood XIV' cicadas are currently tunneling out of their underground homes ready to swarm across 13 states by the spring.

 

The creepy red-eyed insects are set to emerge in New York, Georgia, Kentucky, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia this year.

The timing of their emergence can be unpredictable, but typically the bugs start to crawl out when the ground warms to 64F - usually between April and June for most areas.

 

Male cicadas cause chaos by making a high-pitched buzzing noise designed to attract females which is as loud as a lawn mower.

Last year, the bugs were so noisy that Americans called the cops to complain. Newberry County Sheriff's Office in South Carolina received so many calls they issued a statement to reassure residents about the creatures.

 

'We have had several calls about a noise in the air that sounds like a siren, or a whine, or a roar,' the sheriff's office wrote in April.

'The sound is cicadas. Cicadas are a super family of insects that appear each spring. The nymphs have lived underground for 13-17 years and now this time they are hatching.

'Although to some, the noise is annoying, they pose no danger to humans or pets. Unfortunately it is the sounds of nature.'

 

When they finally emerge after spending more than a decade underground sipping on tree root juices, the periodic cicadas do bring ecological benefits.

'Cicadas are a valuable food source for birds and other predators,' the US EPA noted, adding that the burrows dug by young 'nymphs' to feed on sap 'aerate lawns and improve water filtration to the ground'.

 

Periodical cicadas have black bodies with red eyes and they arrive in droves, unlike annual cicadas which are greenish-brown and emerge in smaller numbers each year.

Broods of periodical cicadas only emerge every 13 or 17 years. This year's invasion, Brood XIV or Brood 14, is the second-largest periodical cicada type at around two inches long, according to the University of Connecticut.

 

Once they emerge, cicadas are active for between four to six weeks before they vanish just as quickly as they came. Despite their noisy nature, they're relatively tame.

'All they do is just climb up on trees and pee. That's as much damage as they do,' Saad Bhamla, a professor at Georgia Tech College of Engineering told The Hill.

 

Even their pee is innocuous - unlike mammal urine, is almost entirely just water. 'You don't have to worry, it isn't like our human pee. It isn't disgusting, it's just water,' Bhamla said.

This year's invasion won't be as bad as last year, when a one trillion of the red-eyed bugs infested the nation in a 200-year event known as the cicada 'apocalypse'.

 

For the first time since the 19th century, two different broods of cicada emerged across more than a dozen states, mating and laying millions more eggs.

Dr Gene Kritsky, a professor, entomologist and cicada expert at Mount St. Joseph University, told DailyMail.com at the time: 'The dual emergence is a one in two or three lifetime event.

'This happens 12 times every 221 years, but this is the first time since 1803 that these broods will emerge together.'

There are more than 3,000 known species of cicadas, and they form 15 major 'broods' in different geographic areas.

What makes these creatures so interesting is the ability to harden their exoskeletons, which takes about five days, and shed it in order to being flying.

Okay, before I just had a sneaking suspicion, but now I feel like I'm noticing a distinct pattern on Twitter.

 

You know how those random Twitter pornbots with no followers who like people's posts all the time? Did it strike you that tafter hiding likes from public view, this is now the perfect way to covertly derank and therefore deboost people as being "low quality content?"

 

I just noticed today that it feels like the deeper I make posts into the same conversation thread, the more of them show up. It feels like a discount way to hide people's posts while also making them feel like they're getting engagement, which is normally supposed to boost them. "Hey, free like. Nice!"

 

The reason my mind is going directly to this theory is that the likes are almost always instantaneous. You post something and you get a pornbot like the instant it's published. But not on every post equally. I just got three instant pornbot likes on the same post when I started getting deep into a reply thread.

 

I'm talking about dry Bible subjects on Twitter currently; there's nothing that can be mistaken for sexual trigger words that might activate a botfarm; and yet the deeper I go into the same conversation thread the more low quality "likes" show up which almost certainly are deboosting and therefore shadowbanning my content.

 

Again, it's a theory. I don't have enough information to go on, but it's starting to feel like that's what's happening on Twitter.

Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel is facing intense backlash, including from her own political party, over a new memoir she wrote that is a nightmare for German political parties looking to stop the ascending right-wing AfD party.

Merkel’s Christian Democratic Party blame her directly for the problems that the country is facing and they say that her memoir is making things even worse.

 

“The publication of this unrepentant, self-righteous book at a time of economic and political turmoil like this is hurting [her political party],” said former senior Merkel official Nico Lange.

 

 

The report said that her approval rating has plummeted from her time as a popular elected official to someone that the German public has turned against. Her allies overseas have abandoned support for her, the report said.

 

The most shocking part of the report focused specifically on her retelling of why she allowed millions of Muslim refugees into Germany.

 

Merkel said that it was “fully irrelevant whether they had a right to stay in Germany or not” when she let them enter the country.

 

She then blamed the German people for the problems that the refugees have caused:

 

The consequences—failed integration, ballooning welfare spending, rising crime, political polarization—can be partly blamed, she writes, on Germans’ lack of “will to change.”

 

In the decade since she instituted her open-door policy, immigration has changed the face of Germany and its political dynamics. An average of around 400,000 immigrants—the population of a large German city—have entered each year, and Germany now spends as much on refugees as it does on defense.

 

The report noted that the phrase that Merkel repeatedly used to justify her failed policies — that she had “no alternative” but to do what she did — served as the inspiration for the Alternative for Germany, or AfD.

I wanted to share my personal experience during the Eaton fires in Altadena, California. And some of the weirder elements I felt or noticed about it.

 

A little pre-setup first.. Just to tie in some of the strangeness about the fire night. It was all so unreal. And it’s already been all so unreal.

 

Around Christmas, we had the “chemical fog” day. I noticed a weird smell and weird fog. Then later saw online the rest of the country and few other countries also had that same chemical fog. I got a nasty cough and sore throat right after too. Yay.

 

But that day overhead, I heard what sounded like a massive jet engine or the biggest fan sound you could possibly imagine. Directly overhead blowing sound. The sound wasn’t moving across the sky or making any doppler sound effect like a moving plane. Just static overhead for a good 30 minutes then faded. It boggled my mind!

 

Now on the night of the fire (Also my birthday on the 7th! Yay!) We stayed up on pins and needles as every neighborhood zone was being evacuated one by one. Ours was one of the last that hung on the ‘get ready’ zone until 5:00am but we bailed about 30 minutes before that.

 

The winds all night were the most intense thing I’ve ever heard.. literally sounded like demons were thrashing everything. Violent, scary even. I’m a pretty battle hardened soul.. 2 time stage 4 cancer survivor and all.. but even I had a tinge of fear from it all. My wife and I were in prayer all night. I was singing to the wind and fires to calm, please!

 

Also strangely, the day of the 7th, we also noticed and took this photo of the massive weirdest cloud coming over head. Something you don’t get at the same time as at that time 40mph Santa Ana winds. My wife made a ghostbusters meme about it lol. Winds were already hammering that whole day too. Spooky. And then the fire started around 6pm that evening..

 

From the fire start and on, I started getting super on it. Packing up, getting ready, getting cats ready. Keeping an eye on Watch Duty. I thought there is NO way the fire could mow down that many streets and houses. NO WAY. But out of precaution and a very eerie feeling we got alert.

 

I kept checking on the fire outside all night. I could see it from my yard on the mountain side right at Eaton Canyon.

 

The night sky had been crystal clear. Wind slamming, but super clear air. Really clear visibility on the fire.

 

Around 2am, I went out and the winds had died way down. Almost stopped. But I heard what sounded like that GIANT FAN sound again. Same one I heard during Christmas week. Massive. Static blowing sound. Not the roiling and undulating chaotic sound of intense winds. It sounded like blowing down from the mountain like a giant fan and only around the mountain. Not at all by me. It was unusual and bizarre.

 

Then around 3:30 I went out and had ZERO visibility. I live a ways off from the fire epicenter. But when I went outside it was like a fucking Game Of Thrones level wall of smoke incoming. Zero visibility beyond 1000 yards. In less than one hour, that fire on the mountain (which is about a 5-10 minute drive up the hill from my house), had mowed down about 16+streets. Over some pretty wide intersections and open space, all the way down to the literally the end of my street by the end of it.

 

Later that morning, our neighborhood text chain reported our street was SPARED. Thank GOD!!!!! Literally JUST our street. Everything pretty much else in Altadena was turned to ash. A few random houses here and there, but driving through (videos below) and according to Jesse Waters reported a few dozen homes only remain in Altadena, which makes me one of the somehow lucky dozen. I can’t even begin to believe what just happened and all the feelings hitting me.

I cried pretty hard over this devastation finally today. The basically level of a nuke loss of my gorgeous, magical, whimsical, most wonderful neighborhood. Old trees you’ll really only find in this little section of LA. Old historic Homes and even older history.

 

The cafes and business we always went to were beloved, and we knew everyone by name. The mountain and trail I hiked/jogged almost everyday or week with deep reverence. Those trails are where I’ve been going to heal from stage 4 cancer in my lungs. I run up the mountain weekly and pray to God up there like it’s my church to let me live.

 

I am thankful for how our neighbors have come together and the community overall. So many good people helping. So many friends lost their homes. Everything—GONE. Displaced. Homeless. Not even clothes a lot of them. I can’t even describe the heart break. But people are really are coming together. Looters, arsonists , and corrupt politicians aside, People are good I believe.

 

The Martial Law situation now is interesting. Our house is Just barely in the martial law zone and we cannot gain access to our home. No answer of when we can. I’m thankful for the protection of our home and belongings (praying we didn’t already get hit by looters. 19 arrested since I last checked).

 

It’s all so insane. I feel battle trained in my spirit for this all thankfully. Cancer has been an amazing teacher and honestly my training Sensei. Just keep moving forward.. keeping faith. Do what needs to be done. I have faith in the Greater Plan no matter what it looks like. Cancer, etc. But it’s still a lot.

 

I pray God gives each and everyone just the provisions they need to get through their unique challenges and hardships.

 

My prayers continue for my beautiful Altadena and I ask that yours might too. Godspeed everyone.

Outrage Erupted as Thomas Massie Exposed the FBI’s Nastiest Gun Control Secret

 

The FBI certainly isn’t happy that this ugly secret is being talked about.

 

But Thomas Massie was not going to let it go unnoticed.

 

And he revealed something very bad about the FBI’s gun control plan.

 

The FBI is responsible for the “National Instant Criminal Background Check System,” better known by the general public as “NICS.”

 

This system is used to deny many people gun ownership based on their criminal record, sometimes keeping guns out of the hands of dangerous people, but other times denying people who made a mistake in the past but have been clean for years, and other times denying people who haven’t done anything wrong at all.

 

As one of the biggest Second Amendment supporters in Congress, Thomas Massie is not the biggest fan of NICS being used for gun control, and he revealed something very ugly about it.

 

It turns out that the biggest group of people in America who are denied legal gun ownership by the NICS system are racial minorities.

 

In other words, the FBI has systematically been denying minorities their freedoms under the Constitution while generally letting white people buy guns freely.

 

This is a very bad look for the FBI and deserves to be heavily scrutinized.

 

According to AmmoLand, “In 2022, at an impactful House Judiciary Committee hearing, Representative Thomas Massie rigorously challenged the sweeping gun control measures proposed by President Biden, specifically the push to ban all semi-automatic weapons—a classification that encompasses the majority of firearms owned today.”

 

Here is what Massie said: “This robust discourse highlights a vital conversation about not just the broad implications of such a ban but also the intricate issues surrounding the Federal background checks, as detailed by expert Dr. John Lott.”

 

Now AmmoLand is publicizing the full details of Lott’s study, which deals with racial discrepancies in the NICS system in regards to firearm ownership.

 

It is not going to make the FBI look very good, and the FBI certainly is not going to be happy that this is being talked about in the gun community.

 

The article continues, “Despite the claimed intended purpose of preventing prohibited individuals from acquiring firearms, the system exhibits a significant flaw—racial disparity in the denial rates of legal firearm purchases. His research indicates that an overwhelming majority of initial denials, approximately 99%, are errors, disproportionately affecting Hispanic and Black males due to phonetic similarities in names within racial groups.

 

“The errors in NICS background checks not only impede the right to self-defense but also impose a costly and complicated appeals process, often unaffordable to those affected.”

 

Any American being denied their constitutional freedoms due to a mistake is suffering a grave injustice that needs to be corrected.

 

However, there is no sign, at least publicly, that the FBI is doing anything about this, as their focus has been on imposing more gun control under the Joe Biden presidency.

 

Hopefully the new FBI director under Trump will take notice of this problem and take clear steps to fix it moving forward.

The Governor of the Bank of England has joined Chancellor Rachel Reeves on a trip to China amid trouble in UK financial markets.

Andrew Bailey and Ms Reeves jetted off to forge stronger economic ties with the world's second-largest economy on Thursday despite Britain's borrowing costs hitting their highest level since the 2008 financial crisis.

Sterling fell on Thursday to its lowest level in more than a year, falling almost 1% to just under 1.23 US dollars, its lowest level since November 2023. Sterling trimmed its losses in afternoon trading, ending 0.58% lower at the close of trading in London.

The FTSE 250 stock index also slid to its weakest level for nine months before staging a recovery later in the session.

Some experts are warning the Chancellor could be forced into piling more tax misery on Brits or making cuts to spending plans to meet UK fiscal rules due to a potential rise in the Government's debt interest bill.

The Institute for Fiscal Studies has said the Government's "razor-thin margin" on meeting its rules could be easily eroded if interest rates stay higher.

Yields on government bonds - which reflect the cost of government borrowing - continued to rise on Thursday, up eight basis points to 4.89% for 10-year gilts, which is the highest since 2008.

The rise in the amount paid to service government debts is a worrying sign of how investors see fiscal sustainability in the UK.

Ministers have said there is no need for emergency intervention in a bid to ease concerns about Britain's shaky financial markets.

Treasury minister Darren Jones said that the markets were functioning in an "orderly way", stressing that the Government's fiscal rules are "non-negotiable".

Ex-UK defence minister arrested in pedophile sting

 

Ivor Caplin was targeted in a child protection operation by an activist group posing as a 15-year-old boy

 

Former Labour MP and Under-secretary for Defense Ivor Caplin has been arrested after being confronted by an activist group of “pedophile hunters” who accused him of trying to court a 15-year-old boy, officials have confirmed.

 

On Saturday, clips emerged on social media of a man resembling Caplin being confronted by members of the Stop Stings vigilante group at a railway station and later being handcuffed by police.

 

The group told The Sun that it had arranged a meeting with Caplin while posing as an “underage boy.” The leader of Stop Stings, Dean Rowland, claimed that the activists “had done a lot of research before this meeting took place.”

 

“We have been speaking to the individual for months over WhatsApp,” he noted, adding that “all of the evidence has been handed over to the police now and we hope that justice will be done.”

 

As the activists were pressing Caplin on the alleged messages, the ex-MP denied any wrongdoing, insisting that he was not going to meet any children.

California State Parks announced today the arrest of a suspect on a charge of felony arson related to a brush fire that ignited on Jan. 8 near Leo Carrillo State Park (SP) in Los Angeles County. The region has been under a red flag warning, with severe fire danger intensified by powerful Santa Ana winds, which have fueled multiple destructive wildfires across Southern California.

 

The suspect, Gloria Lynn Mandich, 60, was taken into custody on suspicion of starting the fire and booked into Ventura County Jail on a felony charge of arson under Penal Code 451(d). She is scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court today.

 

The fire was quickly extinguished by the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

 

California State Parks urges the public to remain alert during red flag warnings and to report any suspicious activity to authorities immediately. As a precaution due to the dangerously high winds, Leo Carrillo SP's campground will remain closed to the public through Friday, Jan. 10.

US obstructs Russian diplomats’ WWII commemoration

Several embassy staff members nevertheless paid their respects to the Soviet soldiers who perished in a plane crash in North Carolina

 

The US authorities refused to authorize a trip by Russian diplomats on Saturday tocommemorate the Soviet servicemen who perished in a plane crash in North Carolinaduring a joint mission during World War II, according to the Russian embassy in Washington.

 

In a post on its Telegram channel late on Saturday, the embassy expressed regret over"attempts in the West to rewrite history and belittle the greatest feat of the Soviet people in crushing” Nazi Germany.

 

“Being in the US, we are acutely aware of the local political establishment’sdesire to consign to oblivion the pages of Russian-American alliance during World War II,' the statement read. According to the embassy, the US authorities’ “refusal to authorize a trip by Russian diplomats to Elizabeth City to hold a commemorative ceremony” exemplifies these efforts.

 

Nevertheless, at leastsome of the embassy staff did end up making the trip to the North Carolina city, where they laid a wreathand flowers at the site where on January 11, 1945, four Soviet servicemen and a British air force member lost their lives in a plane crash.The crew was participating in a secret project codenamed ‘Zebra’ that involved transferring seaplanes to the Soviet Union.

 

The Russian embassy described the joint mission, which wasdeclassified in 2012, as “one of the symbols of a combat fraternity between the USSR and the USthat were fighting shoulder to shoulder against Nazi butchers.”The diplomats noted that during World War II Moscow and Washington united their forces despite their differences. The statement also emphasized theimportance of preserving history for future generationsand countering attempts to whitewash Nazi criminals and their accomplices.

 

Back in June, former Russian ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov told reporters that the US authorities had decided toshut down the Russia Visa Application Centersin Washington and New York. He also revealed that Washington hadrevoked the tax exemption status of Russian embassy workers, which he denounced as a “petty, nasty attack.”

 

The former ambassador claimed that the Americans were “trying… to force our diplomats to hide behind the walls of the embassy, to stop communicating and working.”

 

Relations between Moscow and Washington have progressively soured over the past decade. The administration of former US President Barack Obama shut down several Russian consulates afteraccusing Moscow of “interference” in the 2016 presidential election. Tit-for-tat measures involving the two countries’ missions further intensified after the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in February 2022. Mary Richardson Kennedy, the 52-year-old estranged wife of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. who was found dead of an apparent suicide last week at her home in Bedford, was remembered for her generosity of spirit by family and friends at a private memorial Monday.

 

The event at the Standard Hotel in Manhattan was hosted by the Richardson family. It was closed to the media.

NORFOLK, Va. —An aircraft on a secret mission for the Russianscrashed into the Pasquotank River near Elizabeth City almost 75 years ago.

 

For decades it was kept secret.Elizabeth City locals knew little to nothing about it.

 

The flight was part of a collaboration between President Franklin Roosevelt and Soviet Union premier Joseph Stalin called Project Zebra.

 

TheUnited States entered a lend-lease agreement to supply the Soviet Unionwith a modified version of the PBY Catalina, a seaplane with aprimary mission of bombing submarines.

 

That Russian model, known as the PBN-1 Nomad, featured more fuel capacity and a longer range.The Navy produced 185 of the large aircraft at a shipyard in Philadelphia, according to a book by M.G. Crisci.

 

More than 300 Soviet pilots trained over 18 months in 1944 and 1945 at the Elizabeth City Coast Guard base.

 

The collaboration was among the last of its kind between the two nations, said Don Pendergraft, director of the Museum of the Albemarle in Elizabeth City, which is gearing up to celebrate the 75th anniversary.

 

"I think it is accurate to say that we did at that point have a beautiful relationship," he said. "It was an experiment that went very well."

 

The locals, theAmerican aviators and the Russians formed a strong bondwhile they were here, he said.

 

It is not certain where the name Project Zebra came from. One possibility is in photographs at the time, the Russian Navy wore black uniforms and the American Navy wore white uniforms, Pendergraft said.

 

The Russian aviators often came into town, said Marjorie Berry, a local historian who has researched the events.

 

They bought large amounts of cloth, cigarettes and French perfume from the local drug store. They could sell it on the black market in Russia where such goods were nearly impossible to find, she said.

 

She remembersher father's stories of seeing the aviators who could not speak English shoppingat downtown stores.

He did not know what the Russians were doing in his hometown,but he remembered how polite they were.

 

Ten years ago, the lateGreg Gagarin, a translator and avionics specialist, donated copies of documentsand photographs from the mission to the museum. Gagarin was instrumental in the success of Project Zebra.

 

The native Russian came to the United States as a 12-year-old with his parents, said his son Greg Gagarin Jr.

 

He graduated in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute ofTechnology in 1943 and joined the Navy. He was ordered to report to a seaplane unit assigned to the Pacific. While in Florida preparing to leave, he was ordered to the naval air station in Norfolk.

 

He was told nothing else of the secret mission.

 

He roamed around the base for three days before he found out what he needed to do next, Gagarin said of his father.

 

"They told him to get on a bus and go to Elizabeth City,"he said.

 

Once there, he saw the Soviet stars on the planes and was assigned his duties —translating complicated manuals and instructions from English to Russian….

Gagarin would sit on a pillow between American and Russian aviators on the floor of the aircraft while it was in flight. The Americans would give a command and Gagarin would translate over the engine noise, his son said.

 

In later years, his father spoke about the mission to American and Russian audiences.The Russians offered to build a statue in 2018 honoring the collaborationand erect it on the Elizabeth City waterfront,but the City Council declined the offer.

 

The crash came near the end of the program.

 

On Jan. 11, 1945, a Nomad, heavily loaded with American goods, took off in the darkness from the Coast Guard base out over the Pasquotank River.

 

It was piloted by a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force and carried eight other aviators.

 

Not long after becoming airborne, apart of the plane struck the waterand it crashed into the Pasquotank River,killing five people on board. The pilot and three others survived.

 

Thepilot later acknowledged he lost his bearingsafter following safety lights on the ground and then switching to instruments for night flying.

 

The extra weight of American goods in the aircraft may have been a factor, Pendergraft said.

 

The Museum of the Albemarle honored those killed in the crash at a ceremony on Jan. 11 in Elizabeth City.

 

The commemoration was set toinclude the attendance the Russian ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov; Russian students and elected officials.

 

Locals were scheduled to perform a reenactment with some of main characters of the time.

The 117 million-gallon Santa Ynez Reservoir was empty and down for maintenance when the devastating fire was sparked, perhaps in the brush, between the homes and the Pacific Coast Highway. Friday, officials confirmed that the reservoir had been down for nearly a year —closing in February 2024—for maintenance to the cover of the reservoir.

 

The New York Times reports that a contractor was hired in November to fix a crack in the cover. It is unclear why the reservoir had to be shut down for that extended period of time.

The ripple effect was beyond devastating.

When world events become increasingly difficult to explain, it's not surprising when conspiracy theories that offer seemingly plausible reasoning take hold among the population.
