Zelensky Declares Ukraine Will ‘Never Cede’ Occupied Territories to Russia, Suggests Trump Being Naive About Putin

Volodymyr Zelensky said on Wednesday evening that Ukraine will “never cede” the occupied territories to Russia while expressing doubts about the Trump-led efforts to bring peace and suggesting the President is being deceived by Vladimir Putin.

 

Speaking to the French paper Le Figaro ahead of yet another summit in Paris,Zelensky once again appears to have been emboldened by European allies as they expressed a hardline position towards Moscowin the ongoing U.S.-led negotiations.

“One thing is certain: we will never cede our occupied territories to Russia. These lands belong to the Ukrainians,” Zelensky said. “When will we get them back? Probably not right away. This may have to be done diplomatically. Diplomacy causes fewer victims,” he added.

Since the 2022 invasion, Russia has seized most of the territories in the Ukrainian regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia, in addition to having taken over Crimea in 2014.

While Ukraine showed surprise early successes against the much larger Russian army, after three years, the initially mobile war soon descended into trench-like conditions and became relatively static. Since, Ukraine has failed to take back much more territory militarily, even at a high cost of lives.Yet, despite seemingly being in the weaker position, Zelensky and his European backers have demanded that Russia abandon the hard-won territories.

The Russians, for their part, try to assert these regions are rightfully theirs, noting that many in the areas are Russian speakers although, of course, by this stage most Ukrainian speakers will already have fled.

Ahead of peace talks in Riyadh earlier this week, U.S. Special Envoy SteveWitkoff said that Ukraine’s, and indeed the rest of the world’s, willingness to acknowledge that it had lost the territories to Russia would be key to whether a peace settlement could be reached between Moscow and Kyiv.

The Ukrainians raged at Witkoff’s comments and demanded that President Trump sack his top envoy over the conflict. Continuing his doubtful stance towards the U.S. leader, with whom he infamously clashed in the White House last month,Zelensky suggested that Vladimir Putin and the Russians were conning Trump.

“Donald Trump tried to create good diplomatic relations with Russia. But this kind of method doesn’t work with a man like Putin… If Donald Trump eases sanctions against Russia, he will only deduce one thing: that he is a weak president and can therefore take the next step,” Zelensky said.

The Ukrainian leader accused Moscow of stalling during the negotiations, claiming that his side was willing to accept an unconditional ceasefire during the talks in Saudi Arabia, but that the Russians had laid out a list of preconditions, such as the lifting of economic sanctions.This, Zelensky claimed, demonstrated that Vladimir Putin is not serious about seeking a peace settlement.

Finland risks becoming a ‘battlefield’ against Russia – former EU adviser

The Nordic nation’s recent NATO membership could spell catastrophe, Sakari Linden has told RT

 

Finland’s decision to abandon neutrality and join NATO could prove catastrophic, as it risks turning the country into a battlefield in a potential conflict with Russia, former EU Parliament adviser Sakari Linden has warned.

 

Linden spoke to RT on Thursday, on the sidelines of the International Arctic Forum in Murmansk.

 

Finland has an almost 1,300-kilometer-long border with Russia, and officially joined the US-led military bloc in April 2023 following the escalation of the Ukraine conflict.

 

By joining NATO, Finland “abandoned decades of neutrality,” which had provided the country with independence, prosperity, and security, Linden said.

 

“Every time in history when Finland becomes very aligned with… Western powers,” it becomes, in Linden’s words, “some kind of natural resources reservoir of the West.”

 

The country then loses its independence and “risks becoming a battlefield against Russia,” he warned.

 

Linden saidFinland’s positionbetween East and West gives it “==geopolitical balance,” and that it benefits most from acting as a trade bridge between Russia and the EU.

 

The former EU adviser further noted that during the Cold War, Finland was a “neutral” country that traded with both the West and the East. He said thatit has often been the West that sought to restrict Finland’s trade with Russia, while “Russia has never forbidden Finland” from trading with the West.

 

Now that Finland has totally aligned with Western powers in foreign and security policy – which Linden said “want to put pressure on Russia” –Helsinki is the one bearing the “burden of all the security risks.”

 

Since joining the US-led bloc, the Finnish government has embarked on a militarization push, including expanding military training and urging the population to prepare for a possible war with Russia.

 

NATO’s eastern members have long declared Russia to be a direct threat, and Western officials have repeatedly claimed that if Moscow wins the Ukraine conflict, it could target other European countries.

 

Russian President Vladimir Putin has dismissed any possibility of a military advance against NATO as “nonsense,” arguing that the supposed threat of a Russian attack is being used by European politicians to scare their citizens to extract more resources from them and justify increased military spending.

 

At the same time, Russia has repeatedly warned against what it describes as NATO’s unprecedented military activity near its western borders in recent years.

President Donald Trump pulled his nomination for United Nations Ambassador Thursday.

 

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), one of Trump’s top allies in the House, will remain there, Trump posted on Truth Social.

 

“As we advance our America First Agenda, it is essential that we maintain EVERY Republican Seat in Congress,” Trump said. House Republicans currently possess a small majority of 218 to 213 seats.

 

“We must be unified to accomplish our Mission, and Elise Stefanik has been a vital part of our efforts from the very beginning,” Trump continued. “I have asked Elise, as one of my biggest Allies, to remain in Congress to help me deliver Historic Tax Cuts, GREAT Jobs, Record Economic Growth, a Secure Border, Energy Dominance, Peace Through Strength, and much more, so we can MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.”

 

Stefanik’s confirmation by the Senate had been postponed until the April 1 special elections in Florida to replace former Reps. Michael Waltz and Matt Gaetz, when Republicans are expected to get two more votes in the House chamber. Her nomination was expected to sail through the Senate once advanced.

 

Trump expressed the importance of assuring Stefanik’s seat, although relatively safe for Republicans, stayed in the GOP’s column. He also said Stefanik would rejoin House leaders, although it is not clear in what capacity.

 

Rep. Lisa McClain (R-MI) was elected to replace Stefanik as Chair of the House Republican Conference late in 2024. Stefanik had withdrawn after Trump announced his intent to appoint her ambassador to the U.N.

 

“With a very tight Majority, I don’t want to take a chance on anyone else running for Elise’s seat,” Trump said. “The people love Elise and, with her, we have nothing to worry about come Election Day.”

 

He added, “There are others that can do a good job at the United Nations. Therefore, Elise will stay in Congress, rejoin the House Leadership Team, and continue to fight for our amazing American People. Speaker Johnson is thrilled!”

 

Trump also indicated Stefanik would join his administration at some point, although it is not clear in what capacity or if he would make another appointment for U.N. ambassador.

Zelensky Launches Scathing New Attack on Trump Team – ‘He’s Good at Real Estate, This is Different.’

 

Zelensky singled out a friend of President Trump, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, who recently appeared in an interview with Tucker Carlson and spoke at length about the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

 

“I think that Witkoff often quotes the Kremlin narratives…I can’t be ungrateful to the Americans for everything they did, but they are often, unfortunately, under the influence of Russian narratives,” Zelensky said.

 

The Ukrainian leader went on toseemingly insult Witkoff, saying,“He doesn’t look like a military man. He doesn’t look like a general, and he doesn’t have such experience. As far as I know, he is very good at selling and buying real estate. And this is a little different.”

 

Zelensky, a former television comedian, also has no prior military command experience.

 

The remarks come just weeks after a disrespectful Zelensky was kicked out of the White House after President Trump warned him that he was gambling with World War Three. While Zelensky attempted to apologize for his behavior, Ukrainian officials continued attacking the Trump administration.

 

Zelensky has a history of ungrateful behavior behind closed doors. A phone call between him and former President Joe Biden in June 2022 revealed that he had angered the former President with his lack of gratitude and constant demands.

The United States has paused contributions to the globalist World Trade Organization, three trade sources told Reuters, as President Donald Trump's administration ramps up efforts to cut government spending.

 

The Trump administration is retreating from global institutions it sees as at odds with his "America First" economic policies. It plans to quit some, such as the World Health Organization, and has cut contributions to others as part of a broad review of federal spending.

 

The WTO has already been hobbled by a U.S. move in 2019 during Trump's first term to block new judge appointments to its top appeals court, which left its key dispute settlement system only partially functional. Washington had accused the WTO Appellate Body of judicial overreach in trade disputes.

 

The Geneva-based trade watchdog had an annual budget of 205 million Swiss francs ($232.06 million) in 2024. The United States was due to contribute about 11% of that based on a fees system that is proportionate to its share of global trade, according to public WTO documents.

 

A U.S. delegate told a March 4 WTO budget meeting that its payments to the 2024 and 2025 budgets were on hold pending a review of contributions to international organizations and that it would inform the WTO of the outcome at an unspecified date, two trade sources with direct knowledge of the meeting said.

 

A third trade source confirmed their account and said the WTO was coming up with a "Plan B" in case of a prolonged funding pause, without elaborating.

 

All three sources asked for confidentiality because the budget meeting was private and the U.S. funding pause has not been formally announced.

 

The White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment. A spokesperson for the U.S. mission to the WTO in Geneva did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

 

WTO spokesperson Ismaila Dieng said that U.S. contributions had been on the way but "got caught up in the pause of all payments to international agencies."

 

"Generally, arrears can impact the operational capacity of the WTO Secretariat. But the Secretariat continues to manage its resources prudently and has plans in place to enable it to operate within the financial limitations imposed by any arrears," he said, referring further questions to U.S. authorities.

 

As of end-December 2024, the United States had arrears of 22.7 million Swiss francs ($25.70 million), according to a WTO document obtained by Reuters marked "RESTRICTED" and dated February 21.

 

Under WTO rules, any member that fails to pay its dues after more than a year is subject to "administrative measures" - a series of punitive steps that get progressively stricter the longer the fees go unpaid.

 

The country is now classified as being in the first of three such categories, two of the trade sources confirmed to Reuters, which means its representatives can no longer preside over WTO bodies nor receive formal documentation.

 

Reuters could not immediately establish if the WTO was already applying these measures to the United States.

 

William Reinsch, a former U.S. Commerce official now at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, said he thought the U.S. would eventually pay its WTO bill. He said the Trump administration had nominated a U.S. ambassador to the institution, which indicated some desire to remain engaged.

 

WTO spokesperson Dieng confirmed the chair of the budget committee had informed WTO members that the United States was currently in "Category 1 arrears," along with other countries.

 

"It remains the responsibility of WTO Members to implement the consequences associated with arrears," he said.

 

As of end-2024, five other member countries - Bolivia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Gabon and Gambia - were in that category, the WTO restricted document showed.

 

A total 38.4 million Swiss francs of contributions were outstanding, including unpaid fees from 2024 and prior, it showed. ($1 = 0.8834 Swiss francs)

At least 10 illegal immigrants who were recently deported by U.S. authorities to El Salvador were returned to the United States, according to new court filings.

 

Nine women on one of the planes that landed in El Salvador were kept on board the aircraft and ultimately transported back to America, a Venezuelan national with the initials S.Z.F.R. said in one of the documents that was filed with the federal court in Washington on March 24.

 

The woman said that after a refueling stop, the plane was said to have landed in El Salvador. The men were led off the plane, but the women were not.

 

“I was told that the President of El Salvador would not accept women. I was also told that we were going back to detention in the U.S.,” the woman said.

 

She said that all of the women on the plane were taken to Laredo, Texas, where they had been before departing for El Salvador.

 

The sworn declaration was entered in a legal case involving the use of the Alien Enemies Act by the Trump administration. After President Donald Trump signed an order declaring an invasion of the United States by the Venezuelan terrorist gang Tren de Aragua, U.S. authorities transported some illegal immigrants suspected of being part of the gang to El Salvador, which entered an agreement with the United States to accept criminal deportees for incarceration.

Publicis Groupe, one of the world’s largest ad agencies and a major corporate backer of NewsGuard, has received over $500 million in government contracts, Foundation for Freedom Online reported.

 

NewsGuard is an organization that rates news agencies’ reliability, but has been beset with allegations of left-wing bias.

 

The partnership has benefited both parties.

 

Launched in 2018, NewsGuard “exerts influence over the media through blacklists and whitelists,” according to Foundation for Freedom.

 

“In turn, Publicis then sells these exclusion lists back to the advertising industry that created it, financially suffocating the blacklisted websites,” including Newsmax, Breitbart News, The Federalist, and One America News.

 

The House Committee on Oversight and Accountability last year opened an investigation into NewsGuard’s alleged participation in a government-funded “censorship campaign” to purportedly discredit and even demonetize news outlets by sharing its ratings of their sites with advertisers.

 

The committee found that the Pentagon, State Department, and other federal agencies and the European Union funded the company. Foundation for Freedom’s findings were similar.

 

Publicis’ subsidiary, Plowshare Group LLC, holds a $394.2 million contract with the Department of Health and Human Services for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s national tobacco education campaign.

 

“The advertising industry has long been the censorship industry’s pressure point of choice,” the report said.

 

“Many of the most draconian censorship policies on online platforms, including YouTube and Facebook, came in the aftermath of massive ad boycotts. Without advertiser pressure, online censorship has no teeth.”

A month of intense diplomacy has paid off. Russia and Ukraine, with US mediation, have reached their first formal agreement – so far limited to reducing hostilities. The deal outlines a 30-day ceasefire in the Black Sea and a moratorium on strikes against energy infrastructure. Superficially, this resembles the “fake” air and naval ceasefire once floated by France and Britain to box Russia into a strategic dilemma. But the result turned out very differently.

 

Notably, Western European players are absent. Discussions about a second phase involving peacekeepers from France and the UK have stalled. Despite the noise, there will be no EU personnel monitoring this ceasefire. Instead, Russia has used the talks to extract valuable concessions from the Trump administration – chief among them, help regaining access to global agricultural markets.

 

The US has now placed sanctions relief for Rosselkhozbank, Russian food and fertiliser exporters, and shipping access to international ports on the agenda. These were the very demands Moscow had raised during the original 2022 Black Sea Grain Initiative, but at the time it received only vague UN assurances. Now, Russia has firm traction.

 

The energy truce also tilted in Moscow’s favour. Ukraine had wanted it to apply to all critical infrastructure, but the final version – negotiated by Russia and the US – is much narrower. It restricts attacks only on energy-related targets: oil refineries, power plants, hydroelectric stations, pipelines, and so forth. This specificity robs Kiev of opportunities to claim Russian ceasefire violations.

 

But there are caveats. The biggest: it remains unclear whether the ceasefire has actually come into force. All three parties have issued contradictory statements with conflicting terms.

 

On the Black Sea deal, for instance, the Kremlin says the ceasefire will not begin until sanctions are lifted. It also claims the agreement allows Russia to inspect all ships heading to Ukrainian ports for weapons.

 

However, the Ukrainian and US versions omit these conditions. Kiev even asserts that Russian naval vessels are barred from the western Black Sea and that the ceasefire started on 25 March.

 

Similarly, the timeline for the energy truce is disputed. Moscow insists it began on 18 March, the day of the Putin-Trump phone call. If so, Ukraine is already in breach: recent attacks on Russian infrastructure, such as the strike on the Sudzha gas station, occurred after that date. It’s no surprise then that Zelensky insists the ceasefire only began a week later.

 

In short, while a ceasefire has been announced, its fragility is obvious. There may not even be a unified written document. Its provisions are being interpreted differently by each party, and the sheer number of caveats allows any participant to declare the deal void at will. As a result, any real progress toward peace remains uncertain.

 

Now comes the most delicate phase: the battle for narrative dominance. The next few weeks will be filled with technical talks, diplomatic testing, and mutual accusations. Kiev’s aim is to portray Russia as violating the deal, hoping Trump will respond by tightening sanctions and increasing military aid. Moscow, by contrast, seeks to depict Ukraine as the spoiler, thereby strengthening its position in Washington and perhaps even reviving discussions about Zelensky’s future.

 

Who will succeed in this information war? Russia enters with a clear advantage: the deep mistrust that now exists between the White House and Bankova. Moreover, Trump has broader ambitions, including dismantling the Russia-China partnership. That aim may guide his approach to Moscow far more than anything Zelensky says.

 

The next big test is the long-delayed agreement on Ukraine’s subsoil resources – a key American interest that Zelensky sabotaged with his recent Washington visit. A revised 40-page draft is reportedly in the works, and insiders suggest it will be more demanding than the original.

 

Will Zelensky hold his ground? Or fold under pressure? The answer could reshape the peace process. If the Ukrainian leader concedes, Trump may move closer to Russia. If not, relations could once again stall.

 

Whatever happens, the US-Russia-Ukraine triangle is entering a new, unpredictable chapter. But for now, it is Russia that appears to have gained the most from this uneasy ceasefire – not least by turning a Western pressure tactic into a platform for negotiation on its own terms.

France and Britain will continue to push for a deployment of a military contingent to Ukraine, French President Emmanuel Macron has said. A plan by Paris and London to send troops to Ukraine in case of a peace deal with Russia has been rejected already by several EU members.

 

While a shift in Western European thinking was reported by Reuters, citing multiple sources, Kiev has been pushing for a deployment of troops as a security guarantee, including combat troops ready to fight.

 

Speaking after a summit in Paris on Thursday, Macron announced that the so-called “coalition of the willing” will seek to deploy a “reassurance force” to Ukraine after a peace deal with Russia is reached. The French leader admitted that the proposal failed to win anonymous support, however, a French-British delegation would visit Kiev to discuss the plan anyway.

 

“It does not have unanimity, but we do not need unanimity to do this,” Macron stated.

 

The so-called “coalition of the willing” – initially coined by the US to refer to countries who supported the invasion of Iraq in 2003 - now involves countries that have pledged to continue to militarily support Kiev and who have previously discussed sending a peacekeeping force to Ukraine.

 

Establishing such a force would require consensus among EU member states and would operate under an international mandate, such as from the UN. The “reassurance force” would see countries provide direct military assistance to Ukraine.

 

Italy, Germany, and Hungary reportedly spoke against the Anglo-French peacekeeping plan, citing concerns over a possible escalation and financial implications. Moscow has repeatedly dismissed the idea of any NATO states undertaking peacekeeping roles in Ukraine.

 

The Russian Foreign Ministry has accused France and Britain of hatching plans for “military intervention in Ukraine” which could lead to a direct military clash between Russia and NATO.

Kremlin responds to arrested Moldovan governor’s appeal to Putin

Known critic of Moldova’s government Yevgenia Gutsul has been in custody since Tuesday

 

The Kremlin said on Thursday it had reviewed an appeal by Yevgenia Gutsul, the detained leader of Moldova’s autonomous Gagauzia region, to Russian President Vladimir Putin, asking for help in securing her release.

 

Gutsul was taken into custody on Tuesday evening at Chisinau International Airport, with the Moldovan authorities saying she was on a wanted list. In a statement released via her lawyers on Thursday, she accused the government of pursuing a plan to dismantle the region of Gagauzia’s autonomy through lawfare targeting her administration.

 

Also on Thursday, Gutsul appealed to both Russia and Türkiye to apply pressure on Moldovan President Maia Sandu’s administration in defense of Gagauzia’s rights. Zelensky lashes out at Trump’s envoy

Ukraine’s leader accused Steve Witkoff of spreading “Kremlin narratives” and “helping” Moscow

 

Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky has reproached US President Donald Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, accusing him of disseminating “Kremlin narratives.”

 

Zelensky made the remarks on Wednesday in an interview with European broadcasters, including France 2. He accused Witkoff, a key official in opening negotiations on resolving the Ukraine conflict, of taking Moscow’s side and “helping” Russian President Vladimir Putin.

 

“I believe that Witkoff really does quote Kremlin narratives very often. I believe that this will not bring us closer to peace. And I believe that, unfortunately, this will weaken the American pressure on Russia. We can only fix this information backdrop through our actions. We’re trying to do that,” Zelensky stated.

 

“Witkoff’s statements are very much a hindrance to us, because we are fighting Putin and we really do not want him to have many helpers,” he added.

 

Zelensky was apparently referring to remarks made by Witkoff in a recent interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson, during which the special envoy spoke about the status of former Ukrainian territories that have joined Russia, describing the issue as “an elephant in the room” that “no one wants to talk about.”

 

“They’re Russian-speaking. There have been referendums where the overwhelming majority of the people have indicated that they want to be under Russian rule,” Witkoff said.

 

“The Russians are de facto in control of these territories. The question is: Will the world acknowledge that those are Russian territories? Can Zelensky survive politically if he acknowledges this? This is the central issue in the conflict,” he added.

 

The remarks outraged Kiev, with the head of Ukraine’s Foreign Affairs Committee, Aleksandr Merezhko, condemning what he called “disgraceful, shocking statements” and urging Washington to dismiss “completely unprofessional” Witkoff from his role.

 

Witkoff’s statements were welcomed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, however, who suggested that, judging by his remarks, the special envoy had understood the very “essence” of the hostilities between Moscow and Kiev.

 

“I understand Steve Witkoff. He is a clever and energetic person who thinks that everyone should be aware of the things he regards as obvious. Judging by the statements he made during his conversation with Tucker Carlson, the essence of this conflict is clear to him,” Lavrov said in an interview with Russia’s Channel 1 this week

Suspect arrested in Molotov attack on Vegas Tesla dealership that had ‘the hallmarks of terrorism’

 

A Las Vegas anti-Israel activist has been charged with torching a row of Teslas with Molotov cocktails in a frightening attack caught on camera.

 

Paul Hyon Kim36, was arrested Wednesday by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department with the help of the FBI, a week after at least three cars became engulfed in flames at a local Tesla Collision Center.

 

Authorities previously said the attack – which turned into a raging inferno when one of the car’s lithium batteries exploded — had “some of the hallmarks” of terrorism.

 

Numerous cars also had their windows smashed, while slogans like “RESIST” were scrawled in red spray paint.

 

Kim is a Vegas-based cinematographer who has promoted pro-Palestinian causes on social media, his social media shows.

 

Investigators linked him to the attacks through DNA evidence found at the scene.

 

He was also allegedly filmed using a rifle to shoot out security cameras in the area of the attack, before allegedly turning the gun on the Teslas and bombing them with Molotov cocktails.

 

License plate readers indicated that Kim drove to the Tesla center and parked nearby, then sped away after the attack.

 

Numerous firearms and gun parts were found at his home, according to police.

 

“It’s nothing short of exemplary,” FBI Special Agent in Charge Spencer Evans said. “The seamless collaboration you see to keep the community safe here in southern Nevada is unparalleled.”

 

Kim was charged with 15 counts ranging from destruction of property, suspicion of arson, and possessing a fire device, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

 

The attack was just the latest of its kind to target cars, dealerships and charging stations from the Elon Musk-owned companyin protest of his leadership of Donald Trump’s Department of Environmental Efficiency.(?)

 

Trump and his administration have repeatedly referred to the perpetrators as “domestic terrorists,” though none have been charged as such.

Last week, US Attorney General Pam Bondi said three people previously charged in the attacks could face up to 20 years in prison for charges ranging from Arson to destruction of property, and that anybody else caught participating would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

It remains unclear if Bondi might elevate the defendants’ charges.

 

The investigators who arrested Kim said they hoped his arrest would be a deterrent to others thinking of imitating the violence.

“There’s nothing courageous or noble or firebombing private property and terrorizing your local community,” Special Agent Evans said.

 

“The self-righteous mob that’s cheering you on today to commit acts of violence on their behalf will leave you high and dry and forget about you tomorrow.”

Henrry Josue Villatoro Santos, a 24-year-old illegal migrant, was booked on weapons charges on Thursday morning after a raid near Dale City, Virginia, in Prince William County. He is just one of 340 illegal migrant criminals busted by a new FBI taskforce this month alone.

 

Villatoro was nabbed by FBI agents who were staking out his mother’s home in Woodbridge about 23 miles outside of the capital, according to court documents.

An FBI SWAT team breached the front and rear doors of the home. Agents saw Villatoro trying to hide in an alcove leading to the garage of the home, and said he ducked behind a small wall out of view.

 

When he refused to come out and surrender, agents lobbed a stun grenade and dragged him out of the house and into federal custody.

 

Upon searching his garage bedroom,task force officers discovered a trove of weapons, including a Taurus G2C 9-mm handgun, three additional firearms, ammunition and two silencers.

 

“Make no mistake — he was one of the top leaders,heading up all MS-13 violent crimes on the East Coast. He was responsible for heinous acts, and he should never have been in this country,” Bondi said.

 

Virginia Gov. Youngkin reiterated that the Commonwealth is not a sanctuary state — and warned local jurisdictions that claim sanctuary status are “absolutely unacceptable.”

 

“We didn’t need new laws, as President Trump said, we needed a new president.”

 

Erik Siebert, interim US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, touted the results of the coordinated law enforcement operation, and issued a warning to other lawbreakers.

 

“In less than a month, we have arrested 340 suspects,” he told reporters. “To the criminals, all I have to say is, ‘we’re coming.'”

 

MS-13 was founded in Los Angeles in the 1980s by Salvadoran immigrants, and has been designated a terrorist organization by President Trump.

The vicious gang has been responsible for a series of high-profile killings, kidnappings, and drug-related crimes across the US, including in and around Washington, DC, California and on Long Island.

 

Long Island communities like Brentwood have seen some of the worst of MS-13’s savagery in recent years, including the merciless slaying of innocent teenagers.

In January, Jairo Saenz, 28, a high-ranking MS-13 leader nicknamed “Funny,” grinned in federal court as he was hit with a 60-year sentence for a series of seven horrific murders dating back to 2016.

On his orders, MS-13 members brutally murdered Kayla Cuevas, 16, and her 15-year-old friend, Nisa Mickens, with baseball bats and machetes, prosecutors said. The teens were killed because the gang believed they had disrespected them on social media.

 

Long Island’s top law enforcement authorities said they’d welcome the expansion of the Virginia task force to include New York.

“Because of the violent history of MS-13 on Long Island, law enforcement in Nassau and Suffolk counties have been working with our state and federal partners all along,” Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney told The Post.

U.S.-Canada Flight Bookings Have Totally Collapsed amid Ongoing Trade War — Down by Over 75 Percent!

Bookings for commercial flights between the U.S. and Canada have absolutely collapsed amid rising tensions between the two countries.

 

Amid the imposition of tariffs on Canadian goods and Trump’s desire to make Canada the 51st state, the number of bookings hs fallen by a staggering 75.7 percent.

 

One Mile at a Time, a news outlet that covers trends in the travel industry, has all the details:

 

Aviation analytics company OAG has published some data on the decline in flight bookings between the countries, and it’s worse than most people probably imagined. Specifically, the company compared summer season bookings in March 2024 vs. March 2025.

 

In other words, at this point in both years, how many people have booked transborder flights in April through September?

 

Well, I hope you’re sitting down. For that six month period, the number of tickets booked is down anywhere from 71.4% to 75.7%. Just as an example, April is less than a week away, and here’s how bookings between the two countries are looking:

 

In March 2024, 1,218,570 tickets had been booked for April 2024

In March 2025, 295,982 tickets have been booked for April 2025

That represents a 75.7% reduction in tickets booked.

The report also notes airlines have already reduced the number of scheduled flights 3.5 percent,adding that this “level of demand shift is something you almost never see.”

 

Yet should this trend continue, airlines will need to make radical overhauls to their flight schedules to align with the massive fall in demand.

 

Historically, the two countries have enjoyed one of the busiest air corridors in the world, with millions of travelers moving for business, tourism, and family visits.

 

While relations between Canada and the U.S. may currently be at their lowest point in years, that could soon change if the Conservative Party of Canada triumphs at next month’s general election.

 

The Conservative Party leader, Pierre Poilievre, is far more ideologically aligned with the Trump administration than Liberal Party leader Mark Carney, who only recently took over from the long-standing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Border Patrol Recruiter Asked to Leave California High School Career Fair

 

A Border Patrol recruiter was asked to leave a college and career fair on Wednesday at a public high school in Southern California.

 

A post on the El Centro Sector Facebook page described the incident and questioned if “Extremist Agendas in our Schools” played a role in the high school’s principal asking the Border Patrol recruiter to leave the campus event.

 

“The principal refused to provide an explanation for the dis-invitation,” the El Centro Sector social media post reads. “Whatever the reason, it’s unacceptable. A taxpayer-funded school in the United States refusing to allow interested students to explore career information from a federal law enforcement agency? It appears the Coachella Valley High School principal did just this.”

 

Border Patrol has participated in the Coachella Valley High School career fair for three years. The request for the recruiter to leave the fair was “very strange,” David Kim, assistant chief patrol agent for the El Centro Sector, told The Daily Signal.

The Daily Signal made multiple attempts to contact the Coachella Valley High School principal’s office, but did not receive a response by time of publication.

 

Shortly after arriving at the school, the high school’s principal told the Border Patrol recruiter that he was not part of the vetting process required to participate in the career fair, according to Kim. The high school extended the invitation to the career fair to the El Centro Sector Indio Station, but the agent at the station was unable to attend and contacted “headquarters” to ask for someone else to attend in his place, the El Centro Sector public affairs office official explained.

 

When the Border Patrol recruiter arrived, the school had a marked table for the agent to set up, which he began to do before briefly walking outside to retrieve something from his vehicle. Upon attempting to reenter the room where the career fair was to take place, the principal told the recruiter he could not come back in, since he had not been properly vetted, according to Kim.

 

“To me, that sounds crazy to begin with, because we’re law enforcement officers,” he said, asking, “What do you need to vet?”

 

Kim said the vetting explanation feels like “just an excuse.”

 

Both the principal and the Border Patrol recruiter were professional and cordial, he said.

 

“I guess their presence was not wanted at the high school, which was pretty demoralizing for the agents of El Centro Sector,” Anthony Mayeli, president of the National Border Patrol Council Union for the El Centro Sector, told The Daily Signal.

 

“We always look forward to opportunities to educate the public and let them know that the Border Patrol is not only a great career, but also it’s a noble career,” Mayeli said.

 

Manny Bayon of the National Border Patrol Council Union in San Diego called it “disgraceful” when a “school within the United States chooses to discriminate [against] a uniform that is responsible for protecting America’s border.”

 

The Coachella Valley Unified School District issued a statement “extending our sincerest apologies for the misunderstanding,” the district wrote in a press release shared on Facebook on Thursday.

 

“We want to make it very clear that we do not condone this behavior, and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken with the involved staff members to ensure this does not happen again,” the district said, adding it “wholeheartedly” welcomes Border Patrol to participate in future career fairs.

 

“We’ve enjoyed a very informative and productive relationship with various components of that school,” Kim said. “We hold none of this against any of the students. … We just felt that the public should know that it just does not seem right to hold these type of events” and not have representation from “a bona fide U.S. federal law enforcement agency.”

Putin's move: Why Ukraine fears the ceasefire deal it helped shape

Kiev pushed for a deal — now it’s nervous about the outcome

 

A month of intense diplomacy has paid off. Russia and Ukraine, with US mediation, have reached their first formal agreement – so far limited to reducing hostilities. The deal outlines a 30-day ceasefire in the Black Sea and a moratorium on strikes against energy infrastructure.Superficially, this resembles the “fake” air and naval ceasefire once floated by France and Britain to box Russia into a strategic dilemma. But the result turned out very differently.

 

Notably, Western European players are absent. Discussions about a second phase involving peacekeepers from France and the UK have stalled.

 

Despite the noise,there will be no EU personnel monitoring this ceasefire. Instead, Russia has used the talks to extract valuable concessions from the Trump administration – chief among them, help regaining access to global agricultural markets.

 

The US has now placed sanctions relief for Rosselkhozbank, Russian food and fertiliser exporters, and shipping access to international ports on the agenda. These were the very demands Moscow had raised during the original 2022 Black Sea Grain Initiative, but at the time it received only vague UN assurances. Now, Russia has firm traction.

 

The energy truce also tilted in Moscow’s favour.Ukraine had wanted it to apply to all critical infrastructure, but the final version – negotiated by Russia and the US –is much narrower. It restricts attacks only on energy-related targets: oil refineries, power plants, hydroelectric stations, pipelines, and so forth.This specificity robs Kiev of opportunities to claim Russian ceasefire violations.

 

But there are caveats. The biggest:it remains unclear whether the ceasefire has actually come into force. All three parties have issued contradictory statements with conflicting terms.

 

On the Black Sea deal, for instance, the Kremlin says the ceasefire will not begin until sanctions are lifted. It also claims the agreement allows Russia to inspect all ships heading to Ukrainian ports for weapons.

 

However, the Ukrainian and US versions omit these conditions.Kiev even asserts that Russian naval vessels are barred from the western Black Sea and that the ceasefire started on 25 March.

 

Similarly, the timeline for the energy truce is disputed. Moscow insists it began on 18 March, the day of the Putin-Trump phone call. If so, Ukraine is already in breach: recent attacks on Russian infrastructure, such as the strike on the Sudzha gas station, occurred after that date. It’s no surprise then that Zelensky insists the ceasefire only began a week later.

 

In short, while a ceasefire has been announced, its fragility is obvious. There may not even be a unified written document. Its provisions are being interpreted differently by each party, andthe sheer number of caveats allows any participant to declare the deal void at will. As a result, any real progress toward peace remains uncertain.

 

Now comes the most delicate phase: the battle for narrative dominance. The next few weeks will be filled with technical talks, diplomatic testing, and mutual accusations.Kiev’s aim is to portray Russia as violating the deal,

hoping Trump will respond by tightening sanctions and increasing military aid.Moscow, by contrast, seeks to depict Ukraine as the spoiler, thereby strengthening its position in Washington and perhaps even reviving discussions about Zelensky’s future.

 

Who will succeed in this information war?Russia enters with a clear advantage: the deep mistrust that now exists between the White House and Bankova. Moreover, Trump has broader ambitions, including dismantling the Russia-China partnership.That aim may guide his approach to Moscow far more than anything Zelensky says.

 

The next big test is the long-delayed agreement on Ukraine’s subsoil resources– a key American interest that Zelensky sabotaged with his recent Washington visit. A revised 40-page draft is reportedly in the works, andinsiders suggest it will be more demanding than the original.

 

Will Zelensky hold his ground? Or fold under pressure?The answer could reshape the peace process. If the Ukrainian leader concedes, Trump may move closer to Russia. If not, relations could once again stall.

 

Whatever happens, the US-Russia-Ukraine triangle is entering a new, unpredictable chapter. But for now, it is Russia that appears to have gained the most from this uneasy ceasefire – not least by turning a Western pressure tactic into a platform for negotiation on its own terms.

Two-time MMA Champion Conor McGregor has accused the Irish government of engaging in actions akin to “genocide” through its current migration system.

DC’s Sanctuary City Status is Now Hanging by a Thread.

 

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee approved a bill on Wednesday to dismantle sanctuary city laws in Washington, D.C. The proposed legislation—called the District of Columbia Federal Immigration Compliance Act (H.R.2056)—would prevent the D.C. city government from maintaining policies that limit interactions with federal immigration authorities.

 

“As our nation’s capital, Washington D.C. should be the safest, most ‘America First’ city in the United States, andCongress has the Constitutional authority to end the city’s sanctuary status. My bill is a small step towards returning Washington DC to We, the People,” Representative Clay Higgins (R-LA)—the bill’s sponsor—said.

 

If enacted, this bill would bar D.C. officials from restricting the exchange of information regarding individuals’ citizenship or immigration status with federal, state, and local governments. It also mandates cooperation with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) requests to detain incarcerated immigrants.

 

State and local sanctuary laws have been a hindrance to federal immigration authorities, with Massachusetts being an especially infamous example. Often, violent illegal immigrants arrested and charged by local law enforcement are released on bail by far-left judges before federal agents U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) can execute detainer orders and take custody of the individual. This leaves ICE agents having to subsequently spend time and resources tracking down the released illegal immigrant criminal and undertaking an operation aimed at their capture.
