The U.S. Court of International Trade incredibly ruled against the United States of America on desperately needed Tariffs but, fortunately, the full 11 Judge Panel on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit Court has just stayed the order by the Manhattan-based Court of International Trade.

Where do these initial three Judges come from? How is it possible for them to have potentially done such damage to the United States of America?

Is it purely a hatred of “TRUMP?” What other reason could it be?

I was new to Washington, and it was suggested that I useThe Federalist Societyas a recommending source on Judges.

I did so, openly and freely, but then realized that they were under the thumb ofa real “sleazebag” named Leonard Leo, a bad person who, in his own way, probably hates America, and obviously has his own separate ambitions.

He openly brags how he controls Judges, and even Justices of the United States Supreme Court — I hope that is not so, and don’t believe it is!

In any event, Leo left The Federalist Society to do his own “thing.” I am so disappointed in The Federalist Society because of the bad advice they gave me on numerous Judicial Nominations.

This is something that cannot be forgotten!With all of that being said, I am very proud of many of our picks, but very disappointed in others.

They always must do what’s right for the Country!

In this case, it is only because of my successful use of Tariffs that many Trillions of Dollars have already begun pouring into the U.S.A. from other Countries, money that, without these Tariffs, we would not be able to get.

It is the difference between having a rich, prosperous, and successful United States of America, and quite the opposite. The ruling by the U.S. Court of International Trade is so wrong, and so political!

Hopefully, the Supreme Court will reverse thishorrible, Country threateningdecision, QUICKLY and DECISIVELY.

Backroom “hustlers” must not be allowed to destroy our Nation!

The horrific decision stated that I would have to get the approval of Congress for these Tariffs.

In other words, hundreds of politicians would sit around D.C. for weeks, and even months, trying to come to a conclusion as to what to charge other Countries that are treating us unfairly.

If allowed to stand, this would completely destroy Presidential Power — The Presidency would never be the same! This decision is being hailed all over the World by every Country, other than the United States of America.

Radical Left Judges, together with some very bad people, are destroying America. Under this decision, Trillions of Dollars would be lost by our Country, money that will, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.

It would be the harshest financial ruling ever leveled on us as a Sovereign Nation. The President of the United States must be allowed to protect America against those that are doing it Economic and Financial harm.

Not that it really matters, but a terribly untalented writer for badly failing Forbes Magazine, Dan Alexander, who probably can’t get a meaningful job in the business, has written so inaccurately about me that it is ridiculous.

The Secret Service was moving forward with renewing former Director Kimberly Cheatle’s top-level security clearance but reversed course after RealClearPolitics inquired about a key senator’s opposition, according to multiple sources in the Secret Service community.

 

Sen. Ron Johnson, a Wisconsin Republican who chairs the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations and previously chaired the full Homeland Security panel, argued that Cheatle should not have her security clearance renewed after her leadership decisions contributed to the agency’s numerous failures surrounding the assassination attempt against Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania.

 

“Following the security debacle in Butler, the former director of USSS made the right decision to resign,” Johnson told RCP. “I see no reason for her security clearance to be reinstated.”

 

Asked for comment on Johnson’s opposition, the Secret Service issued a vague statement saying Secret Service Director Sean Curran, a Trump appointee, had decided that “not all former directors” should have their security clearances renewed.

 

As TGP reported last month, a new Government Accountability Office (GAO) report revealed that the Secret Service during Biden’s presidency did not alert the team responsible for securing Trump’s July 13, 2024, rally.

Nonetheless, due to the Secret Service’s siloed practice for sharing classified threat information, Secret Service and local law enforcement personnel central to developing site security plans for the rally were unaware of the threat. According to Secret Service officials, this information was not more broadly shared across the Secret Service because in part, the information was highly classified, and the Intelligence Community did not include information at a lower classification level to share. However, the Secret Service’s siloed information sharing practices, such as requesting that only personnel within an individual’s chain of command be briefed on threat information, contributed to members of the advance team not receiving relevant information. Making changes to Secret Service policies to require it to proactively share threat information internally could help ensure its agents and partners will have information needed to provide effective protection

 

Further, sharing threat and risk information could also help ensure resource decisions are based on identified risks. Secret Service’s resource allocation process is not currently set up to comprehensively consider all known risks. Implementing a process that does so can help ensure security asset decisionsare based on need and not ad hoc actions outside of a formal process.

 

She also denied that she provided misleading testimony to Congress.

The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (USCPSC, CPSC, or commission)is a historically-independent agency of the United States government. The CPSC seeks to promote the safety of consumer products by addressing "unreasonable risks" of injury (through coordinating recalls, evaluating products that are the subject of consumer complaints or industry reports, etc.); developing uniform safety standards (some mandatory, some through a voluntary standards process); and conducting research into product-related illness and injury.[2]

 

The agency was created by section 4 of the Consumer Product Safety Act in 1972.[3]The agency reports to Congress and the President; it is not part of any other department or agency in the federal government.[3] The CPSC has five commissioners, who are nominated by the president and confirmed by the Senate for staggered seven-year terms.[3] The commissioners set policy for the CPSC. The CPSC is headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland.[1]

 

Activities

The CPSC regulates the manufacture and sale of more than 15,000 different consumer products, from cribs to all-terrain vehicles. Products excluded from the CPSC’s jurisdiction include those specifically named by law as under the jurisdiction of other federal agencies. The CPSC fulfills its mission by banning dangerous consumer products, establishing safety requirements for other consumer products, issuing recalls of products already on the market, and researching potential hazards associated with consumer products.[5]

 

Recalls

The aspect of CPSC’s work that most U.S. citizens might recognize is the “recall,” formally a “corrective action” in which a company develops a “a comprehensive plan that reaches throughout the entire distribution chain to consumers who have the product” and addresses a potential or alleged failure of a product.[7] Recalls are nearly always voluntary.[8]

 

Rulemaking and enforcement

The CPSC makes rules about consumer productswhen it identifies a consumer product hazard that is not already addressed by an industry voluntary consensus standard, or when Congress directs it to do so. Its rules can specify basic design requirements, or they can amount to product bans. small high-powered magnets, which the CPSC attempted to ban.The CPSC is required to follow a rigorous, scientific process to develop mandatory rules.

Failing to do so can justify the revocation of a rule, as was the case in a Tenth Circuit decision vacating the CPSC’s ban on small high-powered magnets.[14]

 

Information gathering and sharing

The CPSC learns about unsafe products in several ways. The agency maintains a consumer hotline through which consumers may report concerns about unsafe products or injuries associated with products. Product safety concerns may also be submitted through SaferProducts.gov. The agency also operates the National Electronic Injury Surveillance System (NEISS). NEISS collects data on consumer product related injuries. The agency also works with and shares information with other governments, both in the U.S. (with states and public health agencies) andwith international counterparts.[17]

 

Budget and staff

In 1972 when the agency was created, it had abudget of $34.7 million and 786 staff members. By 2008 it had 401 employees on a budget of $43 million. After the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act was passed in the same year that increased significantly, withat least 500 full-time employees with a budget of $136.4 million in ~2014.[26] Funding dropped to $127 million as of the commission’s fiscal year 2019 appropriation,[27] and it continues to have slightly more than 500 employees.[28]

Ukrainian lawmaker, ex-governor jailed in drone procurement corruption case

Ukraine's High Anti-Corruption Court has ordered lawmaker Oleksii Kuznetsov to be held in custody for the next 60 days with the option to be released on a Hr 8 million ($192,000) bail.

Kuznetsov, representing President Volodymyr Zelensky's Servant of the People party, is suspected of taking part in a high-level corruption scheme tied to military procurement, Suspilne reported from the courtroom on Aug. 4.

 

Also on Aug. 4, the court jailed former Luhansk Oblast Governor Serhii Haidai for 60 days, with bail set at Hr 10 million ($240,000), in connection with the same investigation.

Kuznetsov and Haidai are among six individuals named in the ongoing probe by Ukraine's National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO).

 

The agencies on Aug. 2 revealed a scheme involving inflated state contracts for drones and electronic warfare (EW) equipment tied to state contracts signed in 2024 and 2025.

According to investigators, officials involved in the scheme allegedly received up to 30% of contract funds as kickbacks.

 

Kuznetsov was elected to parliament in 2019 representing Luhansk Oblast and served on the parliamentary human rights committee and the temporary commission on tariff policy.

The corruption revelations come days after Ukraine's parliament reversed course on the law limiting the independence of NABU and SAPO.

Zelensky signed a bill restoring the agencies' independence on July 31, following widespread protests and international criticism over a prior law passed on July 22 that had constrained their powers.

Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko convened an emergency Cabinet meeting following the revelations. Zelensky later dismissed Haidai from his latest role as head of the Mukachevo district administration.

 

During the court hearing, Haidai expressed a willingness to go to the front lines once the case is resolved, according to Suspilne. Several State Border Guard Service members reportedly offered to post sureties on his behalf.

If Haidai posts bail, he will be subject to a range of restrictions, including travel bans, surrendering his passport, and a prohibition on contacting witnesses or co-defendants.

On 3 August, the biggest news comes from Eastern Europe.

 

Here, a Shahed-type drone flew directly into Lithuanian airspace and passed over the capital, marking a serious escalation in Russia’s aerial provocations against Nato’s eastern flank.

Poland’s air force is already on a nightly high alert, and now the rest of the Baltics are joining in, raising what increasingly resembles an iron Curtain in the air.

 

Recently, a Russian Shahed-like drone crossed into Lithuanian airspace from Belarus and flew over the outskirts of Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, close enough for civilians to see and film the device in flight.

Initial fears suggested a live munition had entered Nato airspace, as Shaheds are often fitted with fragmentation, thermobaric, incendiary, or delayed-fuse warheads to cause maximum casualties and damage to civilian property.

Fortunately, upon further inspection of the video footage, the object was identified as a Gerbera decoy drone, a visually similar platform Russia uses for both reconnaissance and saturation purposes during their daily strikes on Ukrainian cities.

 

While unarmed, the drone crossed directly over a Nato capital, far from any logical flight path to Ukraine, making it clear that this was no accident.

Instead, it was a calculated decision to test Nato’s reaction time, radar coverage, and political tolerance for such direct aerial threats and provocations, and critically, Lithuanian forces did not intercept.

 

Poland, meanwhile, has entered a state of routine high alert, with Polish and Nato forces scrambling jets and raising radar systems every time Russia launches a large-scale assault on Ukraine, which happens every night and now often even during the day as well.

Nato partners, including Swedish Gripens, are now joining Poland in maintaining a high alert status during Russia’s large-scale drone and missile attacks on Ukraine, reinforcing joint readiness across the eastern flank.

While these alerts are precautionary, they have become the new norm, as the Polish border lies directly behind the approach paths of Russian missiles and drones targeting western Ukrainian cities.

This proximity means any technical malfunction or mid-course deviation could result in a direct violation of Polish airspace, as seen in previous incidents, including when debris from Russian missiles entered Polish territory in 2022, or when a Ukrainian air defense missile landed on a Polish field, killing two farmers.

However, the unchallenged drone over Vilnius shows the limits of deterrence alone, and Lithuania is now accelerating the deployments of Ukrainian-developed acoustic drone detection systems, seeking to fill gaps in its early warning networks exposed by the most recent airspace violation.

At the same time, the Baltic states are reinforcing their readiness for both air-to-air and ground-to-air engagements by expanding joint training protocols, adapting quick-reaction procedures, and integrating new detection systems designed to counter the threat of low-flying unmanned platforms.

 

And across all three states, radar tracking, jamming incidents logs, and drone incursions are now analyzed with a single assumption: that any aerial anomaly could be the opening in a broader conflict.

The emerging posture is no longer passive monitoring; with new drone detection systems, joint alert protocols, and revised civilian flight corridors, it is becoming forward-leaning, reinforced, and increasingly closed, an Iron Curtain in the air.

 

Overall, Russia’s latest airspace violations are increasingly escalating and reshaping Nato’s eastern defenses through repeated, calculated provocations that expose gaps, test thresholds, and force reaction.

The incursion over Vilnius is a template for how Moscow may continue to pressure Nato’s eastern flank, trying to provoke member states into triggering an open conflict.

As Poland’s nightly alerts become routine and Baltic air defenses are forced to harden, the question is no longer whether Nato will respond, but how far that response will go, and as this pattern deepens, the skies over Eastern Europe are no longer a buffer, they are becoming the front line.

Russia restores runway at occupied Donetsk Airport for kamikaze drone launches, ISW says

Russia is repairing the runway at Donetsk airport, occupied since 2015, to expand its use of attack drones launched from Russian-held territories, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said on Aug. 3, citing the OSINT group Cyberboroshno.

Russia routinely uses occupied Ukrainian territory as a staging ground for attacks on areas under Ukrainian control.

 

Satellite imagery captured in July 2025 shows visible changes at the airport, the ISW said.

According to the OSINT group Cyberboroshno, Russia is constructing infrastructure at the site to support the deployment of Shahed-type drones, including models with jet engines, as well as Gerbera drones, which are primarily used as decoys during airstrikes.

 

Near the destroyed terminal, closed storage facilities are reportedly being built for the drones, along with manual control stations, unloading zones for combat payloads, false positions, air observation posts, and a reconstructed runway, the Cyberboroshno's report read.

Russian authorities have also partially removed fortifications from the runway and begun construction on adjacent parking areas, possibly in preparation for installing fuel storage tanks, the ISW said.

 

OSINT analysts suggested that drone launches are currently being planned from within Donetsk Oblast.

Donetsk Airport ceased operations in May 2014 following the beginning of the Russian occupation of parts of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.

 

Ukrainian forces defended the airport for 242 days before withdrawing completely on Jan. 23, 2015, after Russian troops destroyed the control tower and one of the terminals. A

ccording to Ukraine's Ministry of Defense, 97 Ukrainian soldiers were killed during the battles for control of Donetsk Airport.

Since the start of the occupation, the airport has remained closed to civilian air traffic.

Russia Is Preparing for Another “Operation Spiderweb”

According to Western intelligence reports, Russia’s fortified aircraft hangars now have dome-shaped rooftops and thick blast doors to contain explosions.

After a spate of high-profile and deadly attacks, the Russian military is working hard to limit the effectiveness of Ukrainian drones.

At the same time, however, Ukraine is getting tens of thousands of unmanned aerial systems from its Western partners as the war in Ukraine turns increasingly to remote means.

 

Drones Are Now the Main Weapon of the Ukraine War

Following Ukraine’s recent drone strikes deep inside Russia, Russian forces have devoted tremendous resources to addressing the Ukrainian drone menace.

In response to Kyiv’s attacks—notably “Operation Spiderweb” in June, which destroyed and damaged dozens of long-range Russian bomber aircraft far from the front lines—Moscow commenced a program designed to protect air bases and key aircraft close to the Russo-Ukrainian border. The Russian military is fortifying air bases, including Millerovo, Kursk Vostochny, and Hvardiiske, with hardened hangars and shelters.

According to Western intelligence reports, Russia’s fortified aircraft hangars now have dome-shaped rooftops and thick blast doors to contain explosions. Some are also covered with earth for an additional layer of protection.

 

“The construction of these hardened aircraft shelters provides a layer of protection to aircraft deployed to Russian airbases against future Ukrainian OWA UAS [One Way Attack Uncrewed Aerial System] strikes,” the British Ministry of Defence assessed in a recent update on the drone war in Ukraine.

Such fortifications, however, do not necessarily mean that drones will not be effective against these air bases.

The value of the drone is more in its small size and flexibility rather than in its explosive capabilities. Unmanned aerial vehicles have been deadly effective because they can be piloted with pinpoint accuracy.

 

Numerous videos show Ukrainian drone operators wiggling small drones into Russian tanks, armored personnel carriers, command and control centers, and even trench bunkers. Once inside, the drones can wreak havoc.

Russia is also trying other means to stop Ukraine’s drone armada, which only gets larger as time passes.

 

Britain Will Give Ukraine 100,000 Drones in 2025 Alone

Kyiv’s international partners have been providing the Ukrainian military and intelligence services with tens of thousands of unmanned aerial systems of all types and sizes.

The United Kingdom, for example, delivered 50,000 drones only in the last six months. This delivery was in addition to approximately 20,000 drones provided to Ukraine in the same timeframe by the UK-Latvia co-led drone coalition.

The coalition has been working closely with the industry to speed up procurement and delivery of unmanned aerial systems to the Ukrainian units on the frontlines.

 

Overall, the UK government has committed about $465 million (£350 million) in 2025 to deliver 100,000 unmanned aerial systems to Ukraine.

This would be a ten-fold increase from the 10,000 drones London furnished Ukraine with in 2024. The astronomical increase showcases the increased emphasis of militaries on drone warfare.

Before the full-scale invasion in Ukraine started, state and non-state actors were using drones with increased frequency and for a wider set of missions. Since the war began, however, drones have become a mainstay of modern conflict.

Inspired by falconry, this drone is designed for safe, close-up interactions, such as landing on a person’s outstretched arm. The team says this development marks the “first-ever” successful contact-based interaction between a flapping-wing drone and a human.

“To achieve a safe approach toward humans, we design a motion planning method that considers both physical and psychological factors of human safety such as the distance from the user, the altitude, the approach direction, and the drone’s velocity,” the researchers wrote in the study paper.

 

Safe flight planning

The drone is designed to maintain a safe distance of at least 0.3 meters from a person’s chest and slows down while getting closer. Moreover, it is programmed to approach the user from the front or side.

This simple detail helps maintain a sense of ease and predictability. And in terms of altitude, it stays between elbow and eye level, ensuring you can see both the drone and your hand comfortably.

 

Now, how do you tell this high-tech bird where to land? It’s all in the gestures.

Reportedly, the drone uses two simple hand gestures for control: bending your arm to keep your hand near your chest, which signals it to “stay” and hover, while extending your arm, which tells it to “approach” and land.

 

This intuitive control is made possible by a sophisticated motion capture system. Eight Optitrack Prime 13 cameras track markers placed on the user’s chest, wrist, and drone.

The drone receives precise, real-time commands from a computer via a radio link.

 

Interestingly, its flight planning system helps to break down the approach into four distinct zones based on the distance from the user.

Beyond 1.25 meters, it’s a straight, steady flight to the palm. The drone begins to slow down within a distance of 1.25 to 0.6 meters.

 

It uses a smart algorithm that adjusts its velocity based on how people perceive motion, ensuring the approach feels smooth and natural.

As it gets closer, it enters a circular path around the chest, maintaining that safe distance while gently approaching the outstretched hand.

The team conducted rigorous experiments with the tech to test its landing prowess. Interestingly, the drone maintained its planned path with incredible accuracy.

There were minor hiccups, like a slight delay in response time and a bit of speed oscillation as it constantly adjusted, but the team is already working to refine these areas.

Russia ‘no longer considers itself bound’ by nuclear treaty with US

 

Conditions for maintaining a “unilateral moratorium” on the deployment of intermediate-range missiles have “disappeared,” the Foreign Ministry in Moscow has said

 

Moscow believes that conditions for maintaining the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty with the US have “disappeared” and “no longer considers itself bound” by it, according to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry.

 

The INF Treaty, which banned ground-launched missiles with ranges of 500–5,500km, collapsed in 2019 when Washington withdrew, citing Russian violations. Moscow has denied the claims, accusing the US itself of developing banned missiles. Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that the collapse of the INF will significantly erode the global security framework.

 

“The Russian Foreign Ministry notes the disappearance of conditions for maintaining the unilateral moratorium on the deployment of similar weapons and is authorized to state that Russia no longer considers itself bound by the corresponding self-imposed restrictions previously adopted,” the statement reads.

 

According to the ministry, the “actions of Western countries” are creating a “direct threat” to Russian security. It also noted that last year, the US deployed a Typhon missile launcher in the Philippines. The statement also referenced the Talisman Sabre exercise in Australia, where the US Army also fired Typhon.

 

The Typhon is a mobile ground-based launcher designed to launch Tomahawk cruise missiles (range up to 1,800km) and SM-6 multipurpose missiles (range up to 500km).

 

The Foreign Ministry also took notice of the Australian Army testing an American Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) for the first time in July. The PrSM is a has a maximum range beyond 500km and “is central to strengthening Australia’s land and maritime strike capability,” according to the country’s Defense Ministry.

 

The Russian statement added further: “Decisions on specific parameters of response measures will be made by Russia’s leadership based on an interagency analysis of the scale of the deployment of American and other Western ground-based intermediate-range and shorter-range missiles, as well as the overall development of the situation in the field of international security and strategic stability.”

 

Moscow has repeatedly voiced the possibility of lifting the moratorium, for example, after the US announced plans to deploy long-range weapons in Germany in 2026. In November, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia is developing intermediate- and shorter-range missiles in response to Washington’s actions. The Kremlin has not ruled out deploying the missiles in the Asia-Pacific region.

 

US President Donald Trump, who during his first term withdrew from the INF and the 1992 Open Skies Treaty which allowed conducting surveillance flights over each other’s territory, has suggested that he would resume negotiations on maintaining the existing restrictions on nuclear weapons with Russia.

OZZY OSBOURNE Honored With Drone Show At 2025 WACKEN OPEN AIR Festival

According to Merkur.de, legendary BLACK SABBATH singer Ozzy Osbourne was honored with a drone show by the organizers of Germany's Wacken Open Air festival.

The message "Ozzy, we love you" appeared above the main stage at this year's event, which was held July 29 - August 2 in the village of Wacken.

This was accompanied by Osbourne's song "Mama, I'm Coming Home" and then the BLACK SABBATH number "Paranoid". Images of Osbourne were simultaneously shown on the large screens.

 

Ozzy died the morning of July 22, his family announced in a statement.

"It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.

He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time," the family said.

 

No cause of death was given, but Osbourne had battled a number of health issues over the past several years, including Parkinson's disease and injuries he sustained from a late-night fall in 2019.

Ozzy's death came a little more than two weeks after he took the stage for his final performance with BLACK SABBATH at Villa Park in the band's original hometown of Birmingham, United Kingdom.

They performed four songs for more than 40,000 people in the stadium and 5.8 million more on a livestream. Ozzy also played a five-song solo set while seated in a bat-adorned throne.

 

Formed in Birmingham in 1968, BLACK SABBATH is widely recognized as one of the most influential heavy metal bands of all time, with a career spanning decades and over 75 million albums sold worldwide.

Their impact on the genre remains as significant today as it was in the early 1970s, with their music shaping generations of metal musicians.

 

Ozzy's family reality television show "The Osbournes" won a 2002 Primetime Emmy.

In 2006, Osbourne and the other members of the original BLACK SABBATH were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Ozzy was also inducted into the Rock Hall as a solo artist in 2024.

 

Osbourne won several Grammys, including one in 1993 for his solo song "I Don't Want To Change The World".

Ozzy and Sharon started their annual tour — Ozzfest — in 1996 after he was rejected from the lineup of what at the time was the top touring music festival, Lollapalooza.

 

The first traveling version of Ozzfest in 1997 included MARILYN MANSON and PANTERA as part of the lineup.

Osbourne leaves behind his wife, three children from his first marriage (including an adopted son from his first wife's previous relationship),and three with Sharon: Jack, Kelly and Aimee.

'Relatively Simple' AI Trading Bots Naturally Collude To Rig Markets: Wharton

 

In what should come as a surprise to nobody, 'relatively simple' AI bots set loose in simulations designed to mimic real-world stock and bond exchanges don't just compete for returns; they collude to fix prices, hoard profits, and box out human traders, according to a trio of researchers from Wharton and Hong Kong University of Science & Technology.

 

As Bloomberg reports;

 

In simulations designed to mimic real-world markets, trading agents powered by artificial intelligence formed price-fixing cartels — without explicit instruction. Even with relatively simple programming, the bots chose to collude when left to their own devices, raising fresh alarms for market watchdogs.

 

Put another way, AI bots don’t need to be evil — or even particularly smart — to rig the market. Left alone, they’ll learn it themselves.

 

According to Itay Goldstein, one of the researchers and a finance professor at the Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania, "You can get these fairly simple-minded AI algorithms to collude … It looks very pervasive, either when the market is very noisy or when the market is not noisy."

 

The phenomenon suggests that AI agents pose a challenge that regulators have yet to confront - with the trio's research having already drawn attention from both regulators and asset managers. They have been invited to preset their findings at a seminar, while some quant firms - unnamed by Winston Dou (Goldstein's Wharton colleague) - expressing interest in clear regulatory guidelines and rules for AI-powered algorithmic trading execution.

 

"They worry that it’s not their intention," said Dou. "But regulators can come to them and say: ‘You’re doing something wrong.’"

Thousands of Boeing Defense workers go on strike

 

Skilled machinists who contribute to the protection of the US deserve better contract terms, labor union representatives have insisted

 

Workers at several Boeing Defense plants opted to down tools, risking significant disruption to US fighter jet production.

 

The strike action, which saw workers walk off the job at plants in St. Louis and St. Charles, Missouri, and Mascoutah, Illinois, followed the collapse of contract negotiations on Sunday.

 

The US defense giant is facing public scrutiny over safety issues involving its commercial aircraft and repeated delays in delivering key government contracts, including the next-generation Air Force One.

 

The sites produce several high-profile defense programs, including the F-15 and F/A-18 fighter jets, the T-7A Red Hawk trainer, the MQ-25 Stingray unmanned refueling aircraft, and other advanced weapons systems. The upcoming F-47 stealth fighter jet is also slated for production in the St. Louis area, though Boeing has not specified whether union or non-union facilities will handle the work.

 

Roughly 3,200 workers represented by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) are taking part.

 

Union members voted to turn down Boeing’s latest proposal – a revised four-year labor contract offering additional concessions on scheduling – after previously rejecting a July offer that included up to 40% wage increases for many workers.

 

”IAM District 837 members have spoken loud and clear, they deserve a contract that reflects their skill, dedication, and the critical role they play in our nation’s defense,” union representative Tom Boelling said. IAM Midwest Territory General Vice President Sam Cicinelli added, “They deserve nothing less than a contract that keeps their families secure and recognizes their unmatched expertise.”

 

Dan Gillian, Boeing Air Dominance vice president and senior executive for the St. Louis site, expressed disappointment over the decision to strike.

 

”We are prepared for a strike and have fully implemented our contingency plan to ensure our non-striking workforce can continue supporting our customers,” he said in a statement.

 

Boeing has posted cumulative operational losses of $42.2 billion since mid-2019, largely stemming from two fatal 737 Max crashes and the extended grounding of its flagship commercial jet. However, the company recently reported some improvement, narrowing second-quarter losses to $611 million.

Brush fire breaks out north of Big Bear

 

A brush fire ignited in the San Bernardino National Forest above Big Bear Lake on Monday morning, authorities said.

 

The Gold Fire was first reported shortly before 9:30 a.m. along Forest Service Road 3N10 in the Holcomb Valley area, about 5 miles north of Big Bear Lake, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Department and San Bernardino National Forest officials

 

The blaze had consumed an estimated 10 acres by about 10 a.m., according to U.S. Forest Service

 

A "full aircraft response" was summoned, USFS officials said via social media.

 

Cal Fire also dispatched fire engines and a helicopter to help control the flames.

Tesla billionaire Elon Musk donated $15 million to Donald Trump’s Super PAC MAGA Inc., as well as to the Congressional Leadership Fund and the Senate Leadership Fund, according to Federal Election Commission filings published on Thursday. Both funds are aimed at supporting House and Senate Republicans.

 

Musk spent nearly $300 million to support Trump and Republicans in their election bids in 2024. He also publicly displayed support for Trump by wearing a “dark MAGA” black hat ahead of the president’s re-election bid. In November, Musk was appointed to head the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).However, tensions between Musk and Trump emerged after Musk’s appointment. In June, the two exchanged insults on social media. Musk accused Trump of being in the Epstein files, while Trump responded by calling Musk a “big-time drug addict.” Although Musk later walked back some of his remarks, the relationship between the two remains strained.

 

Despite this, Musk has continued to make significant political contributions. On July 7, he announced the formation of his own political party, the America Party. Musk is the largest individual contributor to congressional PACs and has also contributed $45 million to America PAC, a super PAC he oversees.

 

The FEC filings released last week only cover Musk’s financial activity through the end of June, leaving open the possibility of additional contributions. Musk’s donations and political moves continue to draw attention and speculation about his broader political goals.

NZ Deputy Police Commissioner Charged Over Alleged Child Sex Exploitation, Bestiality Material

 

New Zealand’s former deputy police commissioner lost the right to anonymity Monday after he was charged with possessing child sexual exploitation and bestiality material.

 

Jevon McSkimming was arrested in June and charged with eight counts of possessing objectionable material, but the courts had prevented media from reporting his name or other details of the case.

 

Appearing in Wellington District Court on Monday, McSkimming opted not to seek an extension of the suppression order.

 

His lawyer, Letizea Ord, told Judge Tim Black “there is not a further application in respect of name suppression. It’s accepted that it can lapse today”.

 

He is yet to enter a plea.

 

Asked as he left court if he had a message for the public, McSkimming said: “No”.

 

The 52-year-old is alleged to have possessed child exploitation and bestiality material between specific dates.

 

One of the charges states the offenses happened between July 2020 and December 2024.

 

McSkimming was suspended from his job on full pay in December 2024, when an investigation into his conduct was launched.

 

Details of those allegations cannot be reported.

 

He was on leave for six months before his resignation in May.

 

Judge Black remanded McSkimming on bail, and he will reappear before the court in November.

 

New Zealand’s police commissioner, Richard Chambers, has refused to speak to the media, other than a statement in May acknowledging McSkimming’s resignation.

 

Chambers beat McSkimming to win the police commissioner role in November 2024. A month later, McSkimming was put on leave.

 

In an email last month to police staff, reported by Radio New Zealand, Chambers said he was aware people felt “angry and feel let down”.

 

“I feel the same,” Chambers said.

 

Minister of Police Mark Mitchell has also declined to comment on the case, but has expressed concern about the reputational damage it could cause.

 

“I hope that the public see through and realise that we have got an outstanding police force, we’ve got incredible police officers,” Mitchell said last month.

 

“In this case, even though it involves one of our most senior police officers, you’ve seen that action was taken very quickly to make sure that that public confidence can be maintained.”

Stephen Hawking's terrifying UFO warning resurfaces as 'hostile alien threat' identified by Harvard scientist

A terrifying warning from Stephen Hawking has resurfaced after Harvard researchers published a paper speculating that a comet could be a 'potentially hostile' alien object.

Last month, Harvard University researchers Avi Loeb, Adam Hibberd and Adam Crowl published a paper which suggested that comet 3l/ATLAS could be a reconnaissance probe sent by a technologically advanced alien civilisation watching our planet.

 

"The hypothesis in question is that [31/ATLAS] is a technological artefact, and furthermore has active intelligence. If this is the case, then two possibilities follow," the group wrote in the paper.

"First that its intentions are entirely benign and second they are malign." The researchers added that in the event of an attack it'd 'require defensive measures to be undertaken'.

 

It's worth noting that the researchers, as well as NASA scientists, have since stressed the most likely scenario is that 3l/ATLAS is just a comet.

But should the 'most likely outcome' of 3l/ATLAS not being a 'completely natural interstellar' object turn out to be false, then late physicist Stephen Hawking has a sobering warning to remind us why we shouldn't rush to welcome alien arrivals to Earth.

 

Prior to his death in 2018, Hawking had stressed numerous times about the dangers of reaching out to more technologically advanced civilisations, as they may not have peaceful or benevolent intentions.

"If aliens ever visit us," Hawking explained in an episode of Into the Universe back in 2010, "[Then] outcome might be similar to when Columbus landed in America, which didn’t turn out well for the Native Americans.

 

"We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn’t want to meet," he continued.

The Cambridge researcher believed that an advanced alien civilisation capable of cruising through the cosmos would've likely have exhausted the materials on their own planet, and be on the lookout for other plants to colonise for resources or move to.

 

This wasn't the only time which Hawking warned against reaching out to alien civilisations, with the 76-year-old drawing a line between establishing that other planetary civilisations exist and offering an olive branch.

Hawking's warnings relate to a theory known as the 'Dark forest hypothesis'.

 

'Dark forest hypothesis' explained

The 'Dark forest hypothesis' suggests that several alien civilisations are out there, however no one wants to be the first to put themselves forward due to fears or alerting even more advanced civilisations to their location.

Which means if aliens are out there and beginning to make themselves known, we shouldn't be welcoming them to Earthwith open arms, unless we want to live out a War of the Worlds type scenario.

Ed Kelce—dad to brothers Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce—shared an obituary to his Facebook page on Aug. 2, confirming his girlfriend Maureen Anne Maguire had died. She was 74.

 

“Maureen found joy in life’s simple pleasures,” the obituary read. “She loved the beach—especially the shore—and had a deep affection for dogs.”

 

Calling Maureen a “natural hostess,” the obituary spoke to her ability to bring people together, throwing parties that were “always full of warmth, laughter, and unforgettable food.”

 

“She had a rare gift for making friends with strangers and making everyone around her feel special, seen, and welcomed,” her loved ones wrote. “Her presence had a way of turning ordinary moments into something memorable.”

 

The message also referenced the relationship Ed—who was married to Donna Kelce for 25 years before their split—and Maureen enjoyed together.

 

“She also grew an unexpected love for football later in life, sharing many laughs and adventures with her beloved friend Ed Kelce and her loyal dog Butch,” it noted. “Together, they traveled often and attended football games and concerts, and embraced every opportunity to enjoy life to the fullest.”

Israel Launches Ground Raids in Southwest Syria, Captures Several Locals

 

Claims ‘trafficked weapons’ were seized in multiple raids across Quneitra

 

Israeli ground troops have carried out multiple ground raids across southwestern Syria over the weekend, including overnight raids in the Quneitra Governorate overnight Saturday, which led to the capture of multiple “suspects” who have not been conclusively identified and appear to simply be local Syrians.

 

On Friday, Israeli troops attacked farmers near Jubata al-Khashab, first opening fire on them while they were actively farming their own land then confiscating a tractor in the area because the tractor was trying to haul away trees within the area which Israeli military bulldozers had recently knocked down. Three Syrians were captured in that incident.

 

Israel has been engaged in deforestation in Quneitra in recent months, and farmers have reported intermittently that that has caused problems with groundwater. That is doubly difficult for them as Israeli ground troops have seized control of many of the fresh water sources in the area, preventing irrigation.

 

The raid on the tractor was just the start of this operation, though. Overnight Saturday, the IDF reported raiding at least four locations in Quneitra, claiming they were targeting “terrorist elements” and captured a number of additional “suspects” in the process. The Israeli officials made much of the idea that they seized “trafficked weapons” in the operations, though given they raided four sites the photo that they released (see above) showed only three actual weapons, some old ammunition boxes and clips, and one stray green colored helmet.

 

Israel has recently been engaged with the Syrian government in deescalation talks, though it does not appear to functionally matter within the southwest, where Israeli ground troops continue to operate with impunity in Syrian territory.

 

Israel invaded this part of Syria virtually immediately after the Assad government was ousted in December. The invasion has continued to expand and now reports are putting ground troops within 20 km of the capital city of Damascus.

 

Though publicly Israel tries to maintain the pretext that this incursion is purely defensive, and in some vague way not permanent, locals are seeing that in practice, Israel controls the area and can and will raid their towns and villages seemingly at will, searching homes, interrogating locals, and hauling some of them away on suspicion.

US Launches Airstrikes Against al-Shabaab During Major Battle in Somalia

 

The African Union's mission in Somalia says 50 al-Shabaab fighters were killed in the fighting

 

US Africa Command has announced that its forces launched airstrikes against al-Shabaab during fighting in southern Somalia on Friday, the same day the African Union’s (AU) mission in the country, AUSSOM, reported a major battle.

 

AFRICOM offered no details about the strikes other than saying they were launched in support of the US-backed government in the vicinity of Bariire, a town about 30 miles west of Mogadishu. Al-Shabaab claimed that it killed 20 Ugandan members of the AU force and that it destroyed several armored vehicles.

 

AUSSOM issued a statement on the battle denying that it took heavy casualties and lost armored vehicles. The AU mission said that it “strongly refutes media reports alleging heavy casualties among its soldiers in Bariire town.”

 

“AUSSOM wishes to clarify that its forces, in coordination with the Somali National Armed Forces (SNAF), initiated a major offensive to recapture Bariire town on 1st August,” AUSSOM said. The mission also claimed that 50 al-Shabaab fighters were killed in the battle.

 

The Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) issued a statement on the battle, which also claimed 50 al-Shabaab fighters were killed. “The offensive remains active, with UPDF and SNAF troops continuing operations to dislodge remaining fighters and secure full control of the area,” the UPDF said on Saturday.

 

The US-backed Somali government has launched a new offensive against al-Shabaab, but has still continued to lose territory to the group. AFP reported last month that government forces “melted” in the face of al-Shabaab’s offensives and the government of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has become increasingly unpopular and controls little territory inside the internationally recognized borders of Somalia.

 

Despite the failures, the US has doubled down on propping up the Mogadishu-based government and continues to support it with airstrikes. The US has also been bombing the small ISIS affiliate in Somalia’s northeastern Puntland region, where the US is backing local forces.

 

It’s unclear how many airstrikes the US launched against al-Shabaab on Friday, but counting the bombing as two brings the total number of US airstrikes in Somalia this year to 55. The Trump administration is bombing Somalia at a record pace and is well on its way to breaking the annual record of 63 airstrikes, which President Trump set during his first term in 2019.

Reform UK announces expert on ghosts and UFOs as latest defection to party

Reform UK has been mocked after announcing their latest defection to the party – a police and crime commissioner who is an expert on ghosts, aliens and UFOs.

Rupert Matthews, who holds the post in Leicestershire and Rutland, was introduced on Monday as having joined the party from the Conservatives, breaking a 40-year membership.

 

Before being elected in 2021, he served two years as a European parliament member for the Tories. He has also written a number of books about ghost sightings, UFOs, cryptozoology and other paranormal subjects.

Cryptozoology is a pseudoscience focusing on legendary animals, such as the Sasquatch, in order to evaluate the possibility of their existence.

 

Responding to the announcement, the prime minister’s press secretary said: “Their big defection is very interested in the fantastical and the unexplained. It’s no surprise he’s added Reform’s fiscal plans to that list.”

Meanwhile, a Labour source said: “It’s not just the ghost of Tory past that is swelling the Reform ranks. Their latest recruit Rupert Matthews peddles alien conspiracy theories and believes the removal of abortion rights overseas is a ‘triumph’ for democracy.”

 

During a press conference at the party’s London HQ on Monday, unveiling the move, Mr Matthews took aim at the criminal justice system, saying the “dark heart of wokeness” needed to be removed, as well as accusing politicians in Britain of taking inspiration from “failed states” for their policies.

“It’s almost as if they’ve looked at countries like Lebanon and Libya, the policies that have led to them becoming failed states and thought, ‘that looks good, let’s try that here in Britain’”, he said.

“The self-serving, self-entitled liberal elite who have let our country down time after time after time are now on notice. Their day is almost done. Be they Conservative or Labour governments, everyone knows our politicians have failed us all.

“They have let this country down. They have let the British people down. Enough. Now is the time for Reform.”

 

He also said police officers were all too often working with “one hand tied behind their back”. “I daily face a fight against crime. I see ordinary, hard-working people burgled, robbed and mugged.

Shoplifting is getting out of control. Antisocial behaviour is turning too many of our town centres into an apocalyptic wasteland of lawless Britain.”

 

Reform also announced that a retired prison governor of Wormwood Scrubs, Vanessa Frake-Harris, had joined the party and would be contributing to its law and order task force.

Ms Frake-Harris, who joined the prison service in 1986, detailed increases in escapes, attacks on prison officers and increases of drugs, weapons and mobile phone finds in the last year.

 

She said: “Successive governments, Conservative and Labour, have driven the prison service to its knees through lack of investment, support and an unwillingness to allow people who know what they are doing to get the job done.”

She continued: “Our prisons are in a crisis caused by Labour and the Conservatives. What have their solutions been? They have let 10,000 prisoners out of jail early. To let criminals out of jail before they even serve their full sentence is a disgrace.”

 

A Labour spokesperson said: “It’s farcical that Farage can’t say what his policies are, how much they would cost, or how they would even work.

Reform aren’t serious and don’t have a clue as to how they would address the challenges facing working people.” Reform UK has been contacted for comment.

A secretive US Congress briefing may have confirmed four alien species, according to a physicist’s testimony. Now, Reddit is torn over what it means for real UFO disclosure.

Davis responded, like he did in his Congress hearing, with “Greys, nordics, insectoids, and reptilians” as the four categories of aliens.

Congress would have been bewildered, especially as previous contact with David Grusch mainly included non-human biologics and spacecraft.

 

Davis may have merely been relaying information given to him by insiders, rather than having any sightings himself, but this revelation has caused a stir nevertheless.

Now on The Endless Void podcast with Kristin Fisher, the Missouri Republican Congressman Eric Burlison gave his take on the situation, while also trying to contextualize the current state of play in the quest for true UAP disclosure.

 

What Davis revealed under oath

Eric Davis is a nuclear physicist with decades of UAP-related consulting experience.

The physicist has a background in advanced physics and work related to exotic propulsion systems, boosting his credibility.

 

He described advanced propulsion theories (warp bubbles, Casimir effect), and said the US has at least one craft in its possession.

Davis confirmed the four species and gave details – humanoid, roughly human-sized, and possibly involved in reverse-engineering programs.

 

Burlison’s belief and bull riding

In the interview with Kristin Fisher, Burlison takes a cautionary approach to the topic, yet claims that what would be useful is a “groundswell of public demand for the White House" to listen to the momentum building behind the scenes.

In some candid moments, Burlison told Fisher to “never underestimate the laziness of government employees,” when explaining why disclosure has not gathered momentum for many years.

 

Regarding the four alien species, it seems during the interview that Burlison is not fully convinced, but he believes there’s a need to keep pressing the current US government for answers.

He claims that “the president has a posture to being open to disclosure,” adding that “it would be historic if he levelled with the American people if there was information to be had.”

Fisher asked whether September is a likely month for Congress to line up more hearings, to which Burlison replied that it could be a realistic timeframe.

 

Reddit's mixed reaction

The reaction was both curious and cautious on Reddit as well. One user claimed a sense of disclosure breakthrough, albeit with caveats:

I have a feeling that we're building up to something, but what that is I have no idea. I think it may be more bizarre than we can fathom.

My hypothesis is that what is going on now is that a group/faction that is attempting to prevent this information coming to light is struggling to do so.

One user went even further, saying they have a feeling Trump will use this to distract from the Epstein files becoming a weekly news cycle.

It’s either a case of it being real, much ado about nothing or a cover-up – but regardless, the interview with Burlison seems to have got the ball rolling again.

Reddit seems to reflect the public’s confusion, cynicism, and wild theorizing – the lack of mainstream coverage fuels conspiracy speculation.

In the English-subtitled video, the men argue that the fighting in Gaza could have ended long ago and demand that Israel end the war with a permanent ceasefire and comprehensive hostage deal that will see the release of all 50 remaining hostages in one fell swoop.

Truck driver was on his phone during I-95 crash that killed 5, NTSB says

 

The truck driver who plowed into the back of slowed traffic near a construction zone on Interstate 95 last summer, killing five people, was using his cellphone at the time, according to investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board.

 

Charles Haskell of Las Vegas was headed north on I-95 near Kenly on July 24, 2024, when he received a text message, according to an NTSB report released this week. Less than a minute later, Haskell made a voice call.

 

Three seconds into the call, Haskell’s Freightliner tractor-trailer carrying a load of orange juice slammed into a line of cars and trucks at 70 mph. State Highway Patrol troopers determined that he did not brake before hitting a Chevy Tahoe, which was going an estimated 20 mph, setting off a chain-reaction crash involving two SUVs and two other tractor-trailers.

 

Haskell was charged with failure to reduce speed and five counts of misdemeanor death by vehicle. His case is still pending in Wilson County Superior Court.

 

The NTSB has not released its final report about the crash, which would include the likely cause. But it has released documents and records that investigators compiled over the last year that detail what Haskell did in the days leading up to the crash.

 

Haskell refused to speak to NTSB investigators. But they pieced together his activities using a variety of sources, including his truck’s electronic log and his cellphone records.

 

Haskell, who was 51 at the time of the crash, made a living as a long-haul trucker. In the month before the crash, he had crossed the country three times between California and Virginia, before heading to the Tropicana plant in Bradenton, Florida.

 

There he picked up a load of orange juice on the morning of July 23, 2024, and began the trip north to Jersey City, New Jersey, according to the NTSB. His progress was slow; he made eight stops, taking breaks that ranged from 5 to 139 minutes, before taking a long break in Florence, South Carolina, at 11:29 p.m.

 

Haskell didn’t begin driving again until 10:14 the next morning. His first stop was the Flying J Travel Center in Kenly, where he spent 35 minutes and bought 95 gallons of diesel fuel. He was on the road again at 1:13 p.m. and crashed nine minutes later, according to the NTSB.

Driver made heavy use of his cellphone

 

Haskell was frequently on his phone, both during breaks and while driving, according to the NTSB. Records show he made and received hundreds of texts and voice calls in the days leading up to the crash.

 

The text Haskell received just before the crash came from an unknown number, according to the NTSB. He then called a number with a 252 area code, which covers northeastern North Carolina, the direction he was headed.

 

That call was made at 1:22:26 p.m. Twenty-three seconds later, his iPhone called 911. Investigators say the 911 call was the result of an Apple feature that “automatically calls emergency personnel after a 20-second delay to report a detected crash.” That means Haskell had just finished making the 252 call when the crash occurred.

Sending Juno to investigate 3I/ATLAS ‘not a good idea’: Ross Coulthart

Sending the Juno spacecraft to investigate a newly-discovered interstellar object that a professor suggested could be “alien tech” isn’t a good idea, according to Ross Coulthart.

Coulthart, an investigative journalist and NewsNation Special Correspondent, joined “NewsNation Prime” on Sunday to discuss Harvard professor Avi Loeb’s claim that 3I/ATLAS could be alien tech.

Loeb co-wrote a paper submitted last month suggesting the space object, only the third such object to enter our solar system, could be “possibly hostile.” He called for it to be investigated to determine whether it’s a threat to Earth.

 

Comet could be ‘alien tech,’ should be investigated: Avi Loeb

Loeb wants to send NASA’s Juno spacecraft, which is currently orbiting Jupiter, to intercept the 3I/ATLAS path and study it as it comes into proximity with Jupiter on March 16, 2026.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., even called him to talk about the theory, and she asked NASA to use Juno to look into it.

“It’s inflammatory and frankly, there’s not a lot of evidence for it,” Coulthart said of Loeb’s theory that the object could be of alien origin.

 

“I just don’t think, from talking to many astronomers, that it’s a good idea to go diverting existing space craft – for example, Juno in orbit around Jupiter – or suggesting these are necessarily alien probes with hostile intent.”

Loeb cited the trajectory and speed of the object as reasons why it could be alien tech. However, he labeled his paper a pedagogical, or thought, exercise.

He also wrote on his blog that the most likely outcome “by far” is that 3I/ATLAS “is a completely natural interstellar object, probably a comet.”

 

Motive behind ‘alien tech’ theory

Coulthart believes Loeb may have floated his alien tech theory to draw more attention to an area of science that he would like to see investigated more thoroughly.

“There’s a frustration among a lot of people in science, including Professor Loeb, that not enough resources are going toward looking for other techno signatures,” Coulthart said.

 

“I think, personally, there is a lot of merit in the broad idea of what Professor Loeb is suggesting, which is that we do need to resource the investigation of so-called techno signatures more rigidly.”

As for sending Juno to investigate 3I/ATLAS, Coulthart said it would be too big an expense and a huge diversion from its originally assigned task, which is to investigate Jupiter.

'Declaring an emergency': United pilot calls out mayday shortly after takeoff

 

A United Airlines flight was diverted shortly after departing Washington Dulles International Airport on Friday, July 25, when an engine failure caused the pilot to make a mayday call.

 

United Flight 108 had just taken off for its journey to Munich at around 6 p.m. As the Boeing 787 was ascending to 10,000 feet, its pilot told air traffic control, "Engine failure, left engine, United 108 declaring an emergency. Mayday, mayday, mayday," according to an audio recording.

 

Air traffic control asked the pilot if the aircraft could make its "way back into the field" by turning right. "There's nobody between you and the field," the air traffic controller said in the recording.

 

The flight diverted back to Washington Dulles, landing safely at around 8:33 p.m., according to FlightAware.

 

In a statement, a United Airlines spokesperson confirmed a "mechanical issue" caused the aircraft's diversion.

 

"The plane landed safely, was checked by Airports Authority Fire and Rescue personnel then towed to a gate," Crystal Nosal, an airport spokesperson, told USA TODAY. "There was no disruption to other flights."

 

Once the aircraft was at the gate, all 219 passengers and 11 crew members deplaned. No injuries were reported.

 

"The flight was subsequently canceled and we arranged alternate travel arrangements to take customers to their destination as soon as possible," the airline continued.

Viral RNA-based sprays for plants have unknown consequences

 

Terrana Biosciences is on a mission to replace pesticides with its RNA-based sprays as “vaccines” for plants to protect crops from pests and diseases. The RNA is taken from plant viruses.

 

Terrana claims its sprays do not alter the plant genome and merely deliver RNA into plants to stimulate an immune response or produce protective proteins. But in reality, they don’t know, as there have been no long-term safety studies.

 

The company describes its products as: “Terrana sources native RNAs from across the plant world and gives them new instructions to make any desired trait and solve for problems at any point in the plant’s lifecycle,” which indicates their true aim.

 

Michelle Perro explains why Terrana’s sprays are risky, very risky, for people and the environment. RNA sprays are more dangerous than GMO crops, she says.

 

Terrana Biosciences was launched by the venture capital firm Flagship Pioneering on 1 July 2025. At the end of July, reports were circulating that the company had received approval to spray synthetic RNA onto American food crops. The reports (for example, see HERE and HERE) don’t provide their sources for the approval, so we haven’t been able to verify these claims.

 

However, in December 2023, the Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) approved ledprona, a sprayable double-stranded ribonucleic acid pesticide. Marketed as Calantha, which uses ledprona as its active ingredient, the RNA interference (“RNAi”) pesticide was developed by GreenLight Biosciences.

 

Perhaps the July reports are conflating the launch of Terrana Biosciences and the approval of GreenLight’s RNA products? Regardless, the whole agenda of replacing chemicals with RNA products is nefarious.

From Believer to Denier to 100% Certain: One Congressman’s Journey Into UFO Programs

Vice President JD Vance’s unexpected declaration of being “obsessed with the whole UFO thing” during a podcast appearance has raised eyebrows across Washington, particularly since he has never once mentioned UFOs in any previous public statement or interview.

While Vance promises future investigations, other government officials are already making concrete revelations about crash retrieval programs and alien species classifications that could reshape our understanding of what the government knows about non-human intelligence.

 

Vice President JD Vance made an unexpected revelation during an appearance on the Ruthless Podcast, claiming he is “obsessed with the whole UFO thing” and plans to investigate UAP videos during the August congressional recess.

According to the podcast, Vance stated he wants to “dive to the bottom of the whole UFO thing from last year,” despite having never mentioned UFOs in any previous interview or social media post.

The timing of this sudden interest raises questions about political motivations versus genuine investigation.

 

While Vance discusses future plans, members of Congress are already making concrete revelations about existing UAP programs.

According to an interview on The Endless Void with Kristin Fisher, Congressman Eric Burlison has evolved from skeptical oversight to making definitive statements about classified programs.

Burlison, who serves on both the House Oversight Committee and UAP caucus, began investigating UAPs two years ago when whistleblower David Grusch requested meetings with Congress members.

Despite maintaining his skepticism about the phenomenon itself, Burlison believes taxpayer oversight is necessary given government spending on these programs.

 

The most significant disclosure came during a May congressional briefing when Burlison questioned Pentagon physicist Eric Davis, who holds decades of high-level security clearances.

According to Fisher’s interview, Davis detailed four alleged alien species to Congress members, describing “the Greys, the Nordics, reptilians and insectoids.”

Davis clarified these entities resemble “a reptile or an insect type humanoid” with heads, four limbs, and torsos, ranging in human-scale sizes.

Burlison later acknowledged he should have questioned Davis about his sources, whether the information represented firsthand knowledge or secondhand intelligence reports.

Luna’s letter cited Harvard Professor Avi Loeb’s research showing Juno could potentially intercept 3I/ATLAS using a Jupiter Oberth maneuver in March 2026, providing an opportunity to study what some researchers speculate could be artificial rather than a natural comet.

 

The momentum is building toward a September UAP hearing that Burlison describes as seeking witnesses with “firsthand experience with non-human intelligence.”

According to the Fisher interview, congressional investigators are moving beyond theoretical discussions to pursue direct testimony from individuals claiming contact with non-human entities.

This represents a significant shift from questioning whether UAP programs exist to determining what they have discovered.

Burlison categorizes potential witnesses into three groups: friendly witnesses willing to testify, hostile witnesses requiring subpoenas, and those willing to cooperate only under subpoena protection.

 

According to Burlison’s assessment, he has more hope for transparency today than a year ago, with leadership changes opening opportunities for information previously blocked from disclosure task forces.

However, the contrast between Vance’s laughing podcast claims and Congress members making serious confirmations about crash retrieval programs illustrates the difference between political statements and actual investigation.

Whether Vance’s August recess plans will produce meaningful results remains questionable given his complete lack of prior interest in the subject, while congressional investigators continue pursuing witnesses who claim direct experience with non-human intelligence.

The U.S. Court of International Trade incredibly ruled against the United States of America on desperately needed Tariffs but, fortunately, the full 11 Judge Panel on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit Court has just stayed the order by the Manhattan-based Court of International Trade.

Where do these initial three Judges come from? How is it possible for them to have potentially done such damage to the United States of America?

Is it purely a hatred of “TRUMP?” What other reason could it be?

I was new to Washington, and it was suggested that I useThe Federalist Societyas a recommending source on Judges.

I did so, openly and freely, but then realized that they were under the thumb ofa real “sleazebag” named Leonard Leo, a bad person who, in his own way, probably hates America, and obviously has his own separate ambitions.

In any event, Leo left The Federalist Society to do his own “thing.” I am so disappointed in The Federalist Society because of the bad advice they gave me on numerous Judicial Nominations.

This is something that cannot be forgotten!With all of that being said, I am very proud of many of our picks, but very disappointed in others.

They always must do what’s right for the Country!

In this case, it is only because of my successful use of Tariffs that many Trillions of Dollars have already begun pouring into the U.S.A. from other Countries, money that, without these Tariffs, we would not be able to get.

The U.S. Court of International Trade incredibly ruled against the United States of America on desperately needed Tariffs but, fortunately, the full 11 Judge Panel on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit Court has just stayed the order by the Manhattan-based Court of International Trade.

Where do these initial three Judges come from? How is it possible for them to have potentially done such damage to the United States of America?

I did so, openly and freely, but then realized that they were under the thumb ofa real “sleazebag” named Leonard Leo, a bad person who, in his own way, probably hates America, and obviously has his own separate ambitions.

In any event, Leo left The Federalist Society to do his own “thing.” I am so disappointed in The Federalist Society because of the bad advice they gave me on numerous Judicial Nominations.

This is something that cannot be forgotten!With all of that being said, I am very proud of many of our picks, but very disappointed in others.

They always must do what’s right for the Country!

In this case, it is only because of my successful use of Tariffs that many Trillions of Dollars have already begun pouring into the U.S.A. from other Countries, money that, without these Tariffs, we would not be able to get.

If allowed to stand, this would completely destroy Presidential Power — The Presidency would never be the same! This decision is being hailed all over the World by every Country, other than the United States of America.

President Donald Trump issued a July 24 executive order titled “Ending Crime and Disorder on America’s Streets.” A record of more than 274,000 individuals were found to be experiencing homelessness. Homelessness often leads to increased crime and fires. Trump’s order pushes local governments to redirect the homeless to “long-term institutional settings for humane treatment through the appropriate use of civil commitment.” Cabinet heads have been instructed to prioritize funding to cities that work to abolish open drug use and camping on the streets. During the Biden administration, from 2022 – 2024, the federal government spent $28 billion, with most of the money going to Democrat cities that include New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle, Denver, Portland and San Francisco. During this period, homelessness increased by a whopping 33%.

As of 2025, an estimated 72,308 people experienced homelessness in Los Angeles County. Homelessness is a business, and non-profit organizations are getting rich, in Democrat -majority California. The state currently is “missing” $24 billion in funds intended for the homeless! The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) is set to lose $300 million in funding, about 40% of its $875-million budget. Comfort eat? Nah, I'm not that kind of person. I've stayed fit my whole life, can thank Arnold for that. I'm also not a fan of overeating, the feeling of my stomach stretching from eating a big meal is extremely uncomfortable. Fuck, still have abs at 51 and haven't stepped foot in a gym since 2001. You should see how veiny I am. This theology, often called Christian Zionism, believes that the return of Jews (who just happen to be white Europeans appropriating a religion) to the Holy Land ( appropriating land associated with other people and their history) is a precondition for the Second Coming of Christ. It is not a belief rooted in justice, democracy, or history, but in made up prophecy and salvation. For its followers, the suffering of Palestinians is not a tragedy to be prevented, but an unfortunate step toward a divine end.

 

The outcome is a moral collapse that goes beyond failed policy. Bombing cities, displacing families, and denying people basic rights are justified through the language of God’s will. And when such violence is given religious cover, it becomes nearly impossible to question without being called a heretic or an enemy.

 

Belief in chosenness, when tied to power, has never led to peace or liberation. It creates a world divided between those who belong and those who do not, between those who are saved and those who are expendable. The idea that anyone holds a special divine status by virtue of birth, religion, or geography is not a truth. it is a made up story. a myth, period! And it is a fake story that is costing lives of innocent people. In 2025, this level of ignorance in the presence of widely available knowledge and technovy to access that knowledge shouldn't be in existence anymore.

Democrats are planning to spend tens of millions of dollars to spin narratives on social media as part of a $110.5 million fundraising effort, according to images of slides from a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) donor event obtained by Breitbart News.

 

Under a heading “Urgent Off-Year Funding Needs” on one slide, it states the DCCC looks to raise $10 million for social media and content creation, $20 million for “Accountability work,” $15 million for “Voter Registration,” $5 million for “Recruitment” and “Primary Engagement,” and $2 million for “Research” and a “Rapid Response Infrastructure.”

 

One goal is to enlist at least 667 content creators, with the aim of reaching 83 million Americans and drawing 6.6 million engagements, per another slide that focuses on content creation. The program aims to engage at least 167 “Non-Political Creators” and 8 “Vetted Creators for ads in every target state.”

 

There will be what the DCCC calls a “Social Media Bootcamp” that runs for four weeks. The boot camp, which seems to be for content creators, will focus on “Customized social media evaluation,” “Platform-specific optimization strategies,” “Realtime insights on trending content and engagement Strategies,” and “Daily + rapid response content.”

 

The pro-Democrat ZINC Collective Super PAC is listed on the slide, implying its involvement with the boot camp.ZINC Collective lists Robby Mook, the campaign manager for Hillary Clinton’s failed 2016 Democrat presidential campaign, as one of four key advisers, along with former senior adviser to Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Mike Smith.

 

The effort comes as Republicans have dominated the social media sphere over Democrats. For example,in June alone, the @TeamTrump, led by Alex Bruesewitz and his firm X Strategies, amassed 200 million more views on Instagram and TikTok than the official Democratic Party accountson both platforms, according to data reviewed by Breitbart News at the time.

 

Bruesewitz tells Breitbart News it is comical that Democrats are now spending big to try to compete with him and the GOP’s powerhouse social media presence.“It’s hilarious and pathetic that Democrats are begging their donors for tens of millions of dollars to try to compete with our online presence, which we maintain on a shoestring budget,” he said in a statement. “We don’t pay creators to back President Trump—his leadership naturally inspires widespread, authentic support.”

 

A slide titled “5 Reasons to be Optimistic” could offer a glimpse into some of the narratives and branding content creators could spin on social media sites like TikTok and others. The first reason listed is “The Big Ugly Bill,” a way of attacking Trump’s legacy legislation, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which fulfills campaign promises Americans voted for in his mandate election victory last November.

 

Another reason listed, without any evidence on the slide at least, claims that “Democrats have an enthusiasmadvantage and a generic ballot advantage,”though polling begs to differ on the enthusiasm front. The

Democrat Partyhas a low 33.9 percent favorability rating, according to YouGov’s figures from July 27. On the other hand, nearly 62 percent find them unfavorable.

 

Meanwhile, the GOP drew a 40.1 percent favorability rating in the most recent running YouGov poll. But

 

Democrats do have a slight 2.9 percent advantage over Republicans in the generic Congressional ballot for 2026 in the RealClearPolling Average.

 

Two more reasons “to be optimistic” claim the “DCCC is recruiting the right candidates to win swing districts,” and “Democratic leaders we have invested in since 2018 are well positioned to win.”

He’s been able to get away with this because Senate Republicans are complicit, but most importantly, the courts, especially the Supreme Court, is complicit,” Crockett said before declaring that they must put guardrails on the Supreme Court due to this alleged complicity.

 

“And so I think one of the places that we have to start is we are absolutely — they are the, they are the highest court in the land, and they have no ethics guardrails,”she said.

 

“Now you go down to the lower courts and they do, how much sense does that make when we know that they’re taking money? We have the paper trail, and they refuse to put guardrails on themselves. So it’s time for us to do it for them,” she added.

 

This is far from the first time Crockett has made headlines for her tirades against Trump and Republicans. The Texas Democrat — who has referred to Trump as a “wannabe Hitler” and has asserted that violence is coming from MAGA — started shortly into Trump’s second term, kicking off with a cringeworthy video urging Americans to ignore Trump’s address to the nation back in early March.

 

Other controversies involving Crockett include her mocking Christian lawmakers who want to reform the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) by asserting they are “set on taking food from the hungry,” accusing the GOP of pursuing a “demonic” agenda, informing the American public that she is unsure if there will be elections in four years, referring to paralyzed Texas Gov. A federal judge, appointed by former President Joe Biden, is blocking President Donald Trump’s administration from quickly deporting migrants imported by Biden through a highly publicized parole pipeline.

 

Judge Jia Cobb, appointed by Biden to the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, ruled that Trump’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) cannot quickly begin deporting hundreds of thousands of migrants brought to the U.S. by the Biden administration through its parole pipeline.

 

The case centered around the Trump administration’s shutting down of Biden’s parole pipeline, dismissing parole migrants’ cases, and then placing them into expedited removal.

 

“They arrived for inspection at the United States border pursuant to procedures created and advocated by the U.S. Government. They were paroled into this country under those procedures and given the chance to prove their claims for asylum or other relief authorized by our laws. In a world of bad options, they played by the rules,” Cobb wrote in her ruling:

 

Now, the Government has not only closed off those pathways for new arrivals but changed the game for parolees already here, restricting their ability to seek immigration relief and subjecting them to summary removal despite statutory law prohibiting the Executive Branch from doing so. This Court will GRANT the requested stay. The challenged agency actions exceed DHS’s statutory authority and are arbitrary and capricious. And Plaintiffs’ members and others in their position face imminent, irreparable injury from those actions that outweighs any harm to the Government or the public from pressing pause. In response, DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin said Cobb “is flagrantly ignoring the United States Supreme Court, which upheld expedited removals of illegal aliens by a 7-2 majority.”(The problem is Chief Justice Robert’s didn’t cut it off on day one, he deserves the blame for all of this.)

 

“This ruling is lawless and won’t stand,”McLaughlin said.

 

Indeed, in 2020, the Supreme Court ruled that federal judges cannot interfere with the Trump administration’s deportations of migrants.

Israel Activates Its Cells

 

The conflation of Zionism with anti-Semitism is the test in the Zionist lobby case against Australian journalist Mary Kostakidis for her Gaza reporting and the outcome will be of great international significance, says Joe Lauria.

 

First, I know Mary Kostakidis. Like anyone who knows her the idea that she is a bigot, or a racist or an anti-Semite is just totally absurd. The idea that she should wind up in a courtroom before a judge on a charge of violating the country’s Racial Discrimination Act is unfathomable. But then we must consider the upside-down period we’re living through.

 

It could not be more obvious what is going on here. Mary Kostakidis is opposing a genocide, what any decent person should be doing. But the government that is perpetrating that genocide has activated its “cells” around the world – these cells include powerful governments, intelligence agencies, law enforcement, influential mainstream media, online influencers and lobbyists, like the Zionist Federation of Australia – to punish anyone who is trying to stop Israel from committing its crimes.

 

That includes American university students getting clubbed over the head by riot cops; German anti-genocide protestors beating beaten in the streets of Berlin by police; the Palestine Action group being designated a terrorist organization by the British Home Secretary; British journalists and activists being interrogated at the U.K. border and threatened with prosecution under the Terrorism Act, the ABC sacking Antoinette Lattouf and the Zionist Federation of Australia‘s action against Mary Kostakidis.

 

The central issue in her case will be whether criticizing Israel is equal to anti-semitic hatred. Mary’s barrister rightly focused last week on the July 1 case of Wertheim v. Haddad, in which Justice Angus Stewart ruled that:

 

“ … political criticism of Israel, however inflammatory or adversarial, is not, by its nature, criticism of Jews in general or based on Jewish racial or ethnic identity, and that it is not anti-semitic to criticise Israel …”

 

It could not be clearer. But will the court in Mary’s case be swayed? That’s impossible to say at this point. The idea that the court is even taking the Zionist Federation of Australia seriously so far is troubling. If it does not throw the case out altogether it will be alarming.

 

The conflation of Zionism with anti-Semitism is the test here and the outcome will be of enormous international significance. Thus the interest of U.S.-based Consortium News. There is no comparable case in the U.S. – not yet at least – of a journalist – and a very prominent one at that – being hauled into court accused of racial hatred for taking a principled stand against genocide and the government carrying it out.

Trump's threat against BDS supporters in US: State disaster relief funds linked to Israel boycott stance

 

Trump administration announces that US states or cities that apply for some of its federal aid money - nearly $2 billion allocated for natural disaster preparedness and another half a billion to fight terrorism - will be required to refrain from boycotting Israeli companies; Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem: 'BDS movement is rooted in antisemitism'

 

States must certify that they will not cut off “commercial relations specifically with Israeli companies” to receive the money from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, according to the agency’s terms, opens new tab for grantees.

 

The condition applies to at least $1.9 billion that states rely on to cover search and rescue equipment, emergency manager salaries and backup power systems, among other expenses, according to 11 agency grant notices reviewed by Reuters.

FEMA said in July that U.S. states will be required to spend part of their federal terrorism prevention funds on helping the government arrest migrants, an administration priority.

The Israel requirement takes aim at the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement, a campaign designed to put economic pressure on Israel to leave the West Bank.

 

“DHS will enforce all anti-discrimination laws and policies, including as it relates to the BDS movement, which is expressly grounded in antisemitism,” a spokesperson for Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem said in a statement.

The requirement is largely symbolic. At least 34 states already have anti-BDS laws or policies.

FEMA will require major cities to agree to the Israel policy to receive a cut of $553.5 million set aside to prevent terrorism in dense areas, according to a grant notice posted Friday.

LONDON – President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff is expected to travel to Russia later this week, the president told reporters on Sunday, in a bid to secure an elusive ceasefire deal "where people stop getting killed." Witkoff will travel to Moscow on either Wednesday or Thursday, Trump told reporters.

 

Witkoff heads to Russia amid building frustration in the White House, with six months of diplomacy under Trump having failedto achieve a peace deal or even a ceasefire to end Moscow's full-scale invasion of its neighbor, which began in February 2022. Last month, Trump issued a 50-day ultimatum to Russian President Vladimir Putin, threatening sanctions and tariffs including secondary sanctions on top customers for Russian energy exports like China and India if the Kremlin failed to agree to a ceasefire.

 

Last week, the president cut the window to 10 days, citing continued Russian drone and missile strikes on Ukraine. That 10-day deadline is set to expire on Friday.Kremlin spokespersonDmitry Peskov told reporters on Mondaythat Russia will "not rule out the possibility" of Witkoff visiting Moscow later this week.

Russia's state-affiliated Tass news agency reported that Peskov said Putin would meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy a meeting Kyiv has repeatedly proposed but been rebuffed by Moscow once "preparatory work" at the "expert level" was completed.Ukraine is backing the U.S. demand for an immediate ceasefire, after which negotiations as to a full peace deal can take place.(two other times Russia did a cease fire with promises and Kiev rearmed and attacked Russia, a cease fire is a trap)

My guess is that Trump might impose some kind of tariffs, which won't stop China and India from buying Russian oil and gas," Merezhko said.

 

"The key problem is how to deny Russia revenues for selling its oil and gas to China and India, who are the biggest buyers," he added. "On the one hand, Trump doesn't want to look weak, yet on the other hand, he doesn't want to spoil relations with China and India by imposing serious sanctions."

 

U.S.-Russian relations dipped last week ahead of the looming ceasefire deadline, with Trump engaging in a public spat with Dmitry Medvedev – the former Russian president and prime minister now serving as the deputy chairman of the country's Security Council.

 

Medvedev framed Trump's ultimatum as "a threat and a step towards war. Not between Russia and Ukraine, but with his own country."

 

Medvedev's comments prompted Trump to then order two nuclear submarines to move to "appropriate regions," citing "highly provocative statements" from Medvedev, who has become known as a particularly hawkish voice within Putin's security establishment.

Netanyahu Has Reportedly Opted For Permanent Military Occupation Of Gaza

 

Israel's Channel 12 broadcaster is reporting that the Israeli government has made the decision to occupy the Gaza Strip on a permanent basis.

 

Correspondent Amit Segal reports Monday, "Senior official in Netanyahu’s office: The decision has been made — we’re going to occupy Gaza."

 

The top official has been further quoted as saying: "If we do not act now, hostages will die of starvation and Gaza will remain under Hamas control."

 

But the last days have seen conflicting reports over the status and future of the ground operation, dubbed 'Gideon's Chariots'. What has become clear in the last week is that negotiations are off, as Prime Minister Netanyahu ordered an expanded ground incursion in central Gaza.

 

With much of the Strip already decimated, and inhabitants on the verge of mass starvation, a big question has remained for Netanyahu: what's next?

 

Hardline politicians in his own cabinet have called for the total removal of the Palestinian population, after President Trump months ago talked about turning the enclave into the 'Rivera of the Mediterranean'.

 

Indeed a key question remains, will Trump back a plan of permanent Israeli military occupation? This would certainly open up the likelihood of eventual annexation of the territory.
