@FMCSA is launching an investigation into both the driver and White Hawk Carrier.

 

Here’s what we know:

  1. Washington State improperly issued the driver a full-term CDL. Asylum seekers or illegal aliens are NOT allowed to receive this!

 

  1. New Mexico failed to conduct an English Language Proficiency test when they pulled the driver over for speeding. Had they done this, the driver would not have been on the road!

 

  1. We are also looking into California’s issuance of the driver’s CDL.

 

States MUST FOLLOW THE RULES. If they had, this driver would NEVER have been behind the wheel and three precious lives would still be with us.

 

The failures here are despicable. Non-enforcement and radical immigration policies have turned the trucking industry into a lawless frontier, resulting in unqualified foreign drivers improperly acquiring licenses to operate 40-ton vehicles.

 

@POTUS and I moved quickly to require drivers to speak English – our national language – and launch a full-scale audit of how these licenses are doled out.

US transportation secretary announces investigation into fatal Turnpike crash in Fort Pierce

Harjinder Singh, the driver of the truck, appeared in California court for an extradition hearing Tuesday

Singh obtained a commercial drivers license (CDL) in California after entering the country illegally from Mexico in 2018.

 

FMCSA investigators say their investigation began on Aug. 14 at the carrier's premises in California. An English Language Proficiency (ELP) assessment was given and Singh allegedly "failed the assessment, providing correct responses to just 2 of 12 verbal questions and only accurately identifying 1 of 4 highway traffic signs."

FMCSA also found that on July 23, 2024, California issued him a limited-term/non-domiciled CDL. FMCSA says it's investigating whether the license "was issued in accordance with federal regulations."

FMCSA also found that in 2023, Washington state issued Singh a regular full-term CDL. They say "Asylum seekers or individuals without legal status are NOT eligible for this type of license."

And in July 2025, they say "New Mexico State Police conducted a roadside inspection of the driver and issued a speeding ticket, but there is no indication that an ELP assessment was administered."

An order was signed in May requiring all commercial truckers be proficient in English.FMCSA says both New Mexico and Washington state violated its rules.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy Signs Order Announcing New Guidance to Enforce English Proficiency Requirement for Truckers

 

AUSTIN, TX - Today, U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) Secretary Sean P. Duffy signed an order at a trucking event in Austin announcing new guidelines to strengthen English language enforcement for commercial truck operators. Under the new guidance, commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers who fail to comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) longstanding English-language proficiency (ELP) requirements will be placed out-of-service.

 

“America First means safety first. Americans are a lot safer on roads alongside truckers who can understand and interpret our traffic signs. This common-sense change ensures the penalty for failure to comply is more than a slap on the wrist,” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy.

 

This new guidance is in line with the President’s April 2025 Executive Order to strengthen highway safety by ensuring that all commercial drivers are properly qualified and proficient in English, our national language.

 

In April, Secretary Duffy announced steps to rescind a dangerous Obama-era policy that dismissed ELP requirements for CMV drivers.

 

Additional Background:

 

President Donald Trump and Secretary Duffy believe that proficiency in English is a commonsense, non-negotiable safety requirement for professional drivers, as they should be able to read and understand traffic signs; communicate with traffic safety officers, border patrol, agricultural checkpoints, and cargo weight-limit station personnel; and provide and receive feedback and directions in English.

 

FMCSA regulations provide that a driver unable to sufficiently read or speak English or understand highway traffic signs and signals is not qualified to operate a commercial motor vehicle. However, in 2016, the Obama administration directed inspectors not to place CMV drivers out-of-service for such violations. The failure to adequately enforce driver qualification standards poses serious safety concerns and increases the likelihood of a crash.

 

Secretary Duffy thanks the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance for its prompt cooperation following the President’s Executive Order. Beginning June 25, 2025, ELP violations will once again be included in the out-of-service criteria—ensuring consistent, nationwide enforcement and reaffirming the Department’s unwavering commitment to roadway safety.

Investigation will support Florida’s ongoing criminal proceedings

 

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Secretary of Transportation Sean P. Duffy today announced the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has launched an investigation into the recent deadly Florida highway crash. The investigation will focus on the driver involved in the crash and the motor carrier, White Hawk Carriers, Inc. Preliminary results of the investigation have found when interviewed the driver did not speak English, and both Washington State and New Mexico violated FMCSA rules.

 

“If states had followed the rules, this driver would never have been behind the wheel and three precious lives would still be with us. This crash was a preventable tragedy directly caused by reckless decisions and compounded by despicable failures. Non-enforcement and radical immigration policies have turned the trucking industry into a lawless frontier, resulting in unqualified foreign drivers improperly acquiring licenses to operate 40-ton vehicles,” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy. “We will use every tool at our disposal to hold these states and bad actors accountable. President Trump and I will restore safety to our roads. The families of the deceased deserve justice.”

 

FMCSA investigators began its on-site compliance investigation on August 14, 2025 at the motor carrier's premises in California. During the initial phase of the compliance investigation, investigators reviewed driver qualification files, obtained in-cab and forward-facing video footage of the crash, and conducted interviews with key personnel including the crash-involved driver.

 

During FMCSA’s interview with the driver, investigators administered an English Language Proficiency (ELP) assessment in accordance with FMCSA guidance. The driver failed the assessment, providing correct responses to just 2 of 12 verbal questions and only accurately identifying 1 of 4 highway traffic signs.

 

Additional preliminary findings include:

 

On July 15th, 2023, Washington State issued the driver a regular full-term Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

Asylum seekers or individuals without legal status are NOT eligible for this type of license.

On July 23, 2024, California issued the driver a limited-term/non-domiciled CDL.

FMCSA is investigating the issuance of this license to determine whether it was issued in accordance with Federal regulations.

On July 3, 2025, the New Mexico State Police conducted a roadside inspection of the driver and issued a speeding ticket, but there is no indication that an ELP assessment was administered.

New Mexico has not yet begun enforcing ELP as an out-of-service condition, despite the requirement being in effect since June 25, 2025.

 

The Secretary has offered the Department’s full support to Florida officials, and FMCSA’s investigation will support the state’s ongoing criminal investigation.

Since taking office, Secretary Duffy has taken a number of actions to support American truckers and make our roadways safer.

In May, Secretary Duffy signed an order announcing new guidance to enforce English proficiency requirement for truckers.

In June, Secretary Duffy announced a unveiled a package of new initiatives, pilot programs, and regulatory updates designed to improve the lives of America’s truck drivers.

In June, Secretary Duffy also announced a nationwide audit into state practices in issuing non-domiciled CDLs.

A female pygmy hippopotamus named Eva who lives at the city zoo of Ekaterinburg in central Russia cannot meet a mate. Western sanctions have blocked efforts to deliver a male hippo from abroad, according to the zoo director, RIA Novosti reports.

 

Svetlana Prilepina told the news agency on Tuesday that the zoo had found a suitable male pygmy hippo from a partner institution in the Czech Republic. ”Due to sanctions, we are unable to bring the male to Russia and therefore cannot form a breeding pair with Eva,” the director said.

Pygmy hippos are classified as an endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN);fewer than 3,000 are estimated to live in the wild.

 

Eva arrived at the Yekaterinburg Zoo in 2013 from Edinburgh and is now 13 years old. Like all hippos, she is mostly active in the evening and at night.She enjoys swimming in her pool and playing with a ball, while during the day she prefers to rest in the water, often covering herself with a mat.

 

Adult pygmy hippos typically stand 75–83 centimeters tall at the shoulder, measure between 150 and 177 centimeters in length, and weigh between 180 and 275 kilograms. Unlike their larger relatives,pygmy hippos are more solitary and less aquatic, spending much of their time hidden in forested areas.

Nevertheless, outlets like the Post only fight for more spending on all that. But when it comes to protecting the people they hate (everyday Americans, Republicans), suddenly they get a waste-fraud-and-abuse chubby.

Here’s the sub-headline:“The agency tasked with protecting Defense Department leaders is under significant strain, and the secretary’s atypical needs are becoming untenable, officials say.”

 

Naturally,not a single oneof these “officials” is named, but you already knew that.

 

What follows is nearly 2,500(!) wordsthat can be boiled down this way: Hey, we in the regime media have spent the better part of a year turning Pete Hegseth into a polarizing figure and national villain,and now you’re getting in the way of somebody assassinating him! No fair. We worked so hard.

 

The Post’s obvious goal here is to pressure the Defense Department to decrease security around Hegseth, so it’s easier to assassinate him.

And with that same assassination goal in mind,details about Hegseth’s habits and security protocols are revealed, like the information about his attending a Washington Nationals baseball game, which I will not detail here.

The Department of Defense has already released a statement.

Biden-Appointed Judge Shockingly Rules Against Birthright Citizenship — Ninth Circuit Says Children of Foreign Diplomats Are NOT Automatically U.S. Citizens

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has just ruled that a man born in New York City in 1950 is NOT an American citizen.

 

The court affirmed what the Constitution’s framers and generations of Americans have always understood, the Fourteenth Amendment does not grant automatic citizenship to children born in the U.S. to foreign diplomats.

The case involved Roberto Moncada, who was born in New York City in 1950 while his father served as a Nicaraguan attaché at the United Nations.

 

For nearly seventy years, Moncada lived as an American, holding passports and even swearing oaths of allegiance multiple times.

 

But in 2018, after reviewing records, the government discovered that his father had served as an attaché, a diplomatic position that carried full immunity, not a simple consul as previously believed.

 

That detail changed everything. Under the Fourteenth Amendment,only those born “subject to the jurisdiction”of the United States are citizens.

 

Children of foreign ministers and diplomats are explicitly excluded. Moncada’s father’s immunity meant his entire household, including his newborn son, was outside U.S. jurisdiction.

 

The court reviewed conflicting evidence, including records listing Moncada’s father as both “Deputy Consul” and “Attaché.” But after weighing the record, most importantly the State Department’s “Blue List” identifying him as an attaché with full diplomatic privileges, the panel concluded that the government had proved by clear and convincing evidence that Moncada was never a U.S. citizen

 

Moncada filed suit in 2019 to challenge that decision.

 

Judge Anthony Johnstone, a Biden appointee, wrote in his opinion:

The government repeatedly affirmed that Moncada’s father’s apparent status as a Nicaraguan consul did not confer diplomatic immunity on his children. So, the government explained, Moncada was born “subject to the jurisdiction” of the United States according to the Fourteenth Amendment. U.S. Const. amend. XIV, § 1. And under the Constitution, citizenship was his birthright. But the government was, as the district court put it, “wrong all along.”

 

In 2018, the government reviewed its records and found that Moncada’s father served as an attaché, not a consul, when Moncada was born. Unlike a consul, an attaché and his family possess full diplomatic immunity.

So, the government now asserted, Moncada was not born “subject to the jurisdiction” of the United States. Therefore, he was not a birthright citizen. The government revoked Moncada’s passport and told him he “did not acquire U.S. citizenship by virtue of [his] birth here.”

 

Moncada sued for a declaratory judgment that he is a citizen. The Secretary of State responded by producing a recently executed certification of Moncada’s diplomatic immunity at birth (“Certificate”).

 

The Secretary argued that this Certificate was conclusive evidence of Moncada’s lack of birthright citizenship and was therefore binding on the district court.The district court declined to recognize the Certificate as conclusive.

 

Still, based on the underlying record of government documents, it held that the Secretary established by clear and convincing evidence that Moncada was not born a citizen because it found, as a matter of fact, that his father was an attaché with diplomatic immunity when he was born. We affirm.

Education and workforce issues were high priorities for the two men who took the agency’s top jobs in 1984. In May, physicist Roland W. Schmitt, a two-year member of the Board and senior vice president for research and development at General Electric Company, was elected Board Chair. Following the sudden departure of Director Edward Knapp, President Reagan promoted Erich Bloch from Deputy Director-designate to the Director’s post. Bloch was a hard-driving IBM engineer who had managed the development and manufacture of the IBM System 360 computer technology. All of a sudden, the Foundation had acquired a pair of leaders from industry.

 

Bloch and Schmitt got along well and thought similarly about changes needed at NSF. Homer A. Neal, whose Board panel was devising the Foundation’s undergraduate initiatives at this time, describes Bloch’s results-oriented style this way: “Bloch would sit in our meetings. Sometimes he would pick up on something and carry it out before we had finished.” Part of Bloch’s agenda was to help more people in underrepresented groups—minorities, women, and persons with disabilities—join America’s scientific and technical workforce, including those doing advanced research. This meant increasing the numbers of these individuals who completed a K-12 mathematics/science curriculum.

 

Such an ambitious goal required enormous change for the Foundation, including the identification and recruitment of qualified professionals from these groupsto NSF staff positions and to advisory and merit review panels. Overseeing this effort for the Board from 1984 to 1986 was Simon Ramo, co-founder of aerospace giant TRW, Inc. Ramo agreed to head the Board’s Education and Human Resources (EHR) Committee because, he told Schmitt, “that’s the future.”Minutes of Ramo’s EHR Committee meetings show that managers from all parts of NSF were systematically called on to explain exactly what steps they were taking to satisfy the new diversity mandate.

 

Bloch argued that diversifying the technical workforce was particularly urgent in light of limited numbers of qualified Americans to fill available jobs. The Office of Technology Assessment would later sharply criticize the data behind the shortfall” argument,'' but Walter Massey, a Board member in the 1980s and the Foundation’s second African American director, credits Bloch and the Board with opening the door to wider participation by underrepresented groups. The diversity campaign gained clout when programs such as EPSCoR were consolidated with programs for minorities in the renamed Education and Human Resources Directorate

Just yesterday, Russia handed over another 1,000 bodies of deceased servicemen to Kiev, while the Ukrainian side had a grand total of 19 bodies of deceased Russian servicemen to exchange.

 

Besides that, the shocking expansion of the country’s cemeteries can’t be explained away.

 

Now, a Russian hacker group has announced that Ukraine lost no less than 1.7 million soldiers during the war, including the killed and the missing in action.

 

This information was reportedly uncovered from a hacked database of the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff.The leaks detail the cause of death, personal information of the soldiers, contact information for closest relatives and photographs.

“The digital records from the Ukrainian General Staff show staggering numbers: over the course of three years, Ukraine’s military has lost 1.7 million personnel. The breakdown includes 118,500 deaths in 2022, 405,400 in 2023, 595,000 in 2024, and a record 621,000 in 2025.

 

This data was obtained through a large-scale hack of the computers and local network of the General Staff’s employees by hacking groups including Killnet, Palach Pro, User Sec, and Beregini.The cyberattack utilized a malware known as ‘Nuance’, which is designed to function only within Ukraine’s borders. This malicious software infects victims’ devices, downloads sensitive information, and locks the devices, rendering them unrecoverable.”

The rural Kentucky judge gunned down in his own chambers last year ran a twisted sex ring where young women were coaxed into performing sexual favors just to get out of trouble, one of the alleged victims claims.

Tya Adams alleges she was among those caught up in Judge Kevin Mullins’ apparent sex-for-favors scheme that saw him and others in the tiny town of Whitesburg demand sex in exchange for cash, or to get offenders off the hook.

 

Adams told NewsNation’s “Banfield” that Mullins — who was shot execution-style in his Letcher County chambers allegedly by his longtime sheriff pal Shawn Stines last September — had warned her to keep quiet about the so-called depraved ring.

 

“We would do sex parties and perform shows and have sex with them for money, things like that,” Adams alleged. “It was consensual. But it was the thing that we were so young, and then they used it against us and to destroy our lives later.”

 

Judge Kevin Mullins was shot execution-style in his Letcher County chambers allegedly by his longtime sheriff pal Shawn Stines last September.

 

Adams said she felt forced to go along with the judge’s scheme because she feared Child Protective Services would somehow get involved and upend her life.

It wasn’t immediately clear if the woman had any prior run-ins with the law, or if she was on CPS’ radar at the time.

 

She went on to say it was “just a given” she would keep her mouth shut about the apparent depravity, insisting: “Who would believe it anyway? Because the whole town was doing it. Nobody cares. They’re all swingers. It’s all a big party to them. It was just so normal.”

 

Tya Adams alleges she was among those caught up in Judge Kevin Mullins’ apparent sex-for-favors scheme.

 

Separately, Sarah Davis — a former deputy jailer at the Letcher County lockup — told the outlet she’d heard about the “nasty and sickening” stories to come out of the parties.

 

“Pretty much everybody in the county knows,” she said. “But it was confirmed to me after working in the county jail, especially after being invited to a party myself.”

 

The claims only add to the disturbing allegations that have emerged in the wake of Mullins’ chilling caught-on-camera slaying last year — including that the slain judge had been running his courthouse like a “brothel.”

It has since been revealed that one woman, Sabrina Adkins, threw Mullins’ name into the mix during a 2022 criminal investigation into a Letcher County deputy sheriff who was later jailed for rape and sodomy of a female inmate.

 

The rural Kentucky judge allegedly ran a twisted sex ring where young women were coaxed into performing sexual favors just to get out of trouble, accusers claim.

Adkins, who claimed she was coerced by then-deputy sheriff Ben Fields to perform sexual favors in exchange for staying under house arrest, alleged the judge was in on the longstanding sextortion racket.

 

“I seen Judge Mullins having sex with a girl … in the judge’s chambers,” Adkins told police in her interview at the time.

 

She added that Fields, who was fired in the wake of the probe, also had “some videotapes of some stuff in the judge’s chambers… just with girls, sexual and stuff.”

 

It is unclear if the alleged sextortion scheme had anything to do with Mullins’ shooting.

 

Stines, who resigned days after the Sept. 18 shooting, has pleaded not guilty to a charge of murder of a public official.AP

 

Authorities have previously refused to rule out if a possible sex scandal was the motive behind the bloodshed.

The judge had been decades-long friends with his accused killer and was spotted having lunch with him just hours before he was gunned down on Sept. 18.

 

Chilling surveillance footage allegedly captured the sheriff stepping into his pal’s office and making multiple calls to his daughter before opening fire.

 

Stines then allegedly walked out and immediately surrendered, telling cops: “They’re trying to kidnap my wife and kid.”

 

The sheriff’s attorney later described the execution-style shooting as a crime of passion due to an “extreme emotional disturbance.”

 

Stines, who resigned days after the shooting and is being held in an eastern Kentucky jail without bond, has pleaded not guilty to a charge of murder of a public official.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) slammed GOP lawmakers in the Lone Star State for attempting to acquire five more House seats through mid-decade redistricting while applauding Democrats’ retaliatory efforts in other states.

 

“The Republicans, they are cheaters all day, every day. But we have never tried to match their energy until now. And I applaud it,” Crockett said during a Tuesday appearance on CNN’s “The Source.”

 

“This is a dangerous road to travel down, and I do applaud those in California that say, if you want to play with us, we will play back,” she said elsewhere in the interview, referring to California Democrats’ push for their own redistricting plan.

 

“You can stop this right now if you just say, hey we will stop in Texas, because California doesn’t go into play unless Texas does,” she added.

 

Democratic legislators who fled Texas earlier this month made their way back to the state this week in preparation for Wednesday votes on the GOP redistricting proposal.

 

Republicans backed by President Trump are aiming to add five House seats in Texas, as they seek to defend their narrow majority in Congress in the 2026 midterm elections.

 

Crockett argued Tuesday the effort is a broader reflection of Republicans’ repeated attempts to gain an edge in drawing political maps.

 

“If you will recall, when we look at North Carolina, as soon as they ended up with a Republican majority in that Supreme Court, what did they do? They decided to take their map from seven, which is pretty much what the state of North Carolina looks like, and instead they added an additional three seats for the Republicans,” the Texas Democrat told CNN.

 

“So now it‘s 10-4. Well, when you look at the voting, nothing looks like 10-4. And they only did that once the Republicans took control,” she added.

 

Crockett has become a firebrand for Democrats in recent months, making regular cable news appearances to criticize the Trump administration and the president’s MAGA allies in Congress.

 

And she’s amped up her criticism of the GOP over its redistricting efforts in her home state both in interviews and on social media in recent weeks.

 

“As a former Texas State Rep, let me be clear: LOCKING Rep. Nicole Collier inside the chamber is beyond outrageous,” Crockett wrote in a Monday post on social platform X, referring to new Texas House rules requiring Democratic legislators to be shadowed by an escort to ensure a quorum for votes.

 

“Forcing elected officials to sign ‘permission slips’ and take police escorts to leave? That’s not procedure. That’s some old Jim Crow playbook,” she added.

Fire on USS New Orleans Amphibious Warship Off Okinawa Now Extinguished

An amphibious warship USS New Orleans (LPD-18) suffered a fire off the coast of Okinawa, Japan on Wednesday, prompting a coordinated international response from both U.S. and Japanese forces.

 

According to a U.S. Navy statement, the was declared extinguished at 4 a.m. on August 21, approximately 12 hours after it began. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

 

Two Sailors were treated for minor injuries, according to the Navy’s latest update.

 

Firefighting efforts involved a collaborative response from multiple units. The crew of USS San Diego (LPD 22), which was moored at White Beach Naval Facility, Okinawa, supported the New Orleans Sailors’ firefighting operations. Additional critical support came from the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, Japan Coast Guard, and U.S. Navy commands from across Commander, Fleet Activities Okinawa.

 

Footage from Japanese broadcaster NHK showed the New Orleans with two tugs using water cannons directed at the bow of the amphibious vessel.

 

According to the latest statement, New Orleans is anchored near the White Beach Naval Facility. Its crew will remain aboard the ship, with additional services and berthing available aboard San Diego and Commander, Fleet Activities Okinawa, if needed.

 

The Japan Coast Guard (JCG) previously noted that no oil leaks had been observed in nearby waters.

 

USS New Orleans is part of the Navy’s forward deployed amphibious force based in Sasebo, Japan.

 

This incident comes during a period of heightened maritime activity in the region, with the ship playing a key role in the U.S. naval presence in the Western Pacific.

I gotta plug the O4OS Linux distro.

You can even get it in KDE Plasma (Windows like desktop easier for Win refugees to get used to).

It runs with a small footprint but maintains most of the basic functions most people use to internet and word doc/spreadsheet.

I have it on an old laptop and, while not a speed burner, it can actually handle QR when the bread gets to 650+ again.

Wasn't the case at the end of its lifespan on Win 10.
