Former US Senator Nancy Schaefer & Husband. Was It Murder/Suicide Or Just Plain Murder? (Unresolved Murder)

This case has stuck with me for years. Here's a woman who was trying to instigate real change in the US, an honest politician who was fighting corruption and doing something truly good for the weakest of our population, the children caught in the CPS/child welfare system. She definitely lost her career over it but did she also lose her life? Idk. I searched this sub but found nothing more than a mention, I'd love more perspective from the pros here, so here we go…

"The recent death of Nancy Schaefer, former Georgia State Senator, and, most recently, President of the Georgia Eagle Forum of Georgia, has stirred some serious controversy. As a state senator, Nancy had become aware of extensive use of the Georgia Child Protection Services to allegedly kidnap children for profit, sexual exploitation, and, perhaps, other forms of abuse.

When she tried to get this problem exposed and addressed through the Georgia legislature, her fellow legislators acted to silence her efforts and, as promptly as possible, cause her to be defeated in her third term re-election effort. Undeterred and understanding the gravity of this unpublicized epidemic and the deep damage it was doing to children and families and our country, Nancy became President of the Georgia Eagle Forum and continued her efforts to get this issue addressed.

Because she was the only prominent advocate for this cause, families from all over Georgia came to her with the stories and evidence of the nightmares they had been going through, while agonizing that they could get no one but her to listen. She was in possession of damaging and dispositive information associated with prominent people in Georgia who had participated in and “benefited”, in one or another, from the activities of this “human trafficking” operation. If you understand the history of this kind of thing, you will recognize that she would have had enough information to put “important people” in jail.

On Thursday, March 26, it was reported that Nancy (73) and her husband Bruce (74) were found dead in their bed, her having been shot in the back while asleep, and he having been shot in the chest, and that there was a gun lying near him. Last bread I gave a discourse on logic and promises. Part of the problem is that no one knows for sure if all is going as planned or not. We should at least by offering options to a settled negotiation, as an option for both the US and Iran. Senator Nancy Schaefer paid the ultimate price, which was her life along with the life of her husband, to stand up against evil. There was too much money at stake within the Children’s Protective Services (CPS) and her state of Georgia’s Department of Family and Child Services (DFCS), to allow her to change and/or eliminate the system.

The report from Garland Favarito is titled: One Year Follow-Up on the Death of Senator Nancy Schaefer & Bruce Schaefer and the heading just below this title forms a nice summary of the case: “Schaefers killed with mysterious gun, GBI destroys evidence, closes suicide case.” This report was written a year after the alleged murder-suicide of the Schaefers because the case file summary was not publicly available right away. Garland studied this case file information soon after it was allowed to be viewed by the public, and he shares this information with us:

“The case file summary confirmed the GBI (Georgia Bureau of Investigation) original murder-suicide conclusion that Bruce Schaefer shot Nancy and then killed himself. The conclusion was based primarily on extensive suicide notes that contained specific instructions to the family and could have only been produced by Bruce or someone with firsthand knowledge of the family.”

The murder weapon.

“The Schaefers were not killed with the small caliber gun that the family knew they owned. They were killed with a high caliber, untraceable weapon that no family member had ever seen before. The weapon was originally shipped to a dealer in a remote part of southern Florida in 1982 and the ownership records have since been destroyed… The case file was unable to establish how the Schaefers, who lived in Georgia during the 1980s, acquired the murder weapon. It also contains no explanation as to why Bruce would not use the gun he already owned to commit the crime, but instead acquire another gun that just happened to be untraceable.”

The suicide notes.

“The final investigative summary cites the extensive, detailed suicide notes found at the scene as the most overwhelming evidence of suicide. But the case file shows that the GBI performed no handwriting analysis to authenticate those printed notes as originating from Bruce Schaefer. The multi-page, extensive suicide notes are also strange in the sense that there is no mention of the 13 grandchildren who Bruce loved so much. There are also oddities in the financial information included in the notes.”

“Most Georgians are unaware that the metro Atlanta area has been nationally ranked as the largest center in the country for child sex trafficking. Most are also unaware that Sen. Schaefer was a national leader in the fight against related child abuse and perversion in government run, Child Protective Services (CPS). The measure also would restrict which IDs Florida voters can use at the polls. Student IDs and retirement-home IDs would no longer be valid; driver's licenses, state ID cards, military IDs, and licenses to carry concealed weapons would still be accepted as proof of voter identity.

In Congress, Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., said Friday he is setting up a high-profile floor fight next week over the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, known as the SAVE America Act.

The Republican-led bill would require documentary proof of U.S. citizenship to register for federal elections and a photo ID to vote. It also would place restrictions on mail-in ballots.

The House passed the measure last month.

Florida lawmakers spent several hours Thursday debating House Bill 991.

It passed the Senate 27-12, with all Republicans voting yes except state Sen. Alexis Calatayud of Miami-Dade County. All Democrats voted no.

The House passed the measure 77-28, with two Democrats voting yes and one Republican opposed.

The bill now heads to Gov. Ron DeSantis for his signature.

"The Florida version of the SAVE Act is about to pass the Legislature," DeSantis wrote in a post on X Thursday.

It is illegal for noncitizens to vote in Florida, and the prohibition was added to the state constitution in 2020.

In a 2025 report, the Florida Office of Election Crimes and Security said it completed preliminary investigations into more than 835 people and found that 198 were likely noncitizens who had illegally registered or voted. The office said 170 were referred to law enforcement.

"This bill is anti-American," said state Sen. LaVon Bracy Davis, D-Orlando, according to Politico.

"It's anti-Floridian. It's anti-senior citizen. It's anti-student. It's sexist."

The legislation also includes restrictions designed to crack down on party switchers. It would also create a process allowing rival candidates to legally challenge whether someone meets requirements to appear on the ballot.

That idea was championed by state Sen. Jason Pizzo of Hollywood, who has questioned whether GOP gubernatorial candidate James Fishback will meet those requirements.

Unlike some of the other restrictions, that portion of the bill would become effective the minute it is signed into law.

Hamas on Saturday called uponits “brothers in Iran” to not target neighbouring countries, and urged the region to end the ongoing conflict that has embroiled much of the Middle East.

The group fought back against Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza following its October 7, 2023 attack, while Israel razed the besieged and bombarded enclave to the ground, killing more than 72,000, with Gulf nations – particularly Qatar – stepping in through mediation, diplomacy and aid.

Since the start of the Iran war by the US and Israel on February 28, several Gulf states in the region have reported Iranian missile and drone attacks.

“While affirming the right of the Islamic Republic of Iran to respond to this aggression by all available means in accordance with international norms and laws,the movement calls on the brothers in Iran to avoid targeting neighbouring countries,” Hamas said in a statement.

It added that countries of the region should “cooperate to halt this aggression and preserve the bonds of fraternity among them”.

Iran has supported Hamas financially and militarily for decades, the group being a part of the now much-weakened so-called “axis of resistance” that includes Lebanon’s Hezbollah and Yemen’s Houthis.

Last month,Gulf countries pledged more than $4bn in combined financial support to US President Donald Trump’s Board of Peace, as they signalled financial backing for efforts aimed at resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The pledges were announced during the first meeting of the Board of Peace, which has gone quiet in the wake of the war, in Washington, where Qatar and Saudi Arabia each committed $1bn.
