US Attorney General Barr adds to coverup in death of Jeffrey Epstein

US Attorney General William Barr backtracked on comments he made last August about the circumstances surrounding the death of convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, telling the Associated Press on Friday that a series of mistakes by prison authorities gave the multimillionaire Wall Street consultant the opportunity to kill himself in his jail cell on August 10.

Barr said that although he initially had “suspicions” about Epstein’s death under federal custody at the Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) in Manhattan, he had come to the conclusions that it was a suicide. Barr added, “I can understand people who immediately, whose minds went to sort of the worst-case scenario because it was a perfect storm of screwups.”

The AP report said Barr drew his conclusion “after the FBI and the Justice Department’s inspector general continued to investigate,” adding that he “sought to dampen conspiracy theories by people who have questioned whether Epstein really took his own life, saying the evidence proves Epstein killed himself.”

Barr told the AP that “he personally reviewed security footage that confirmed that no one entered the area where Epstein was housed on the night he died.” However, it is not clear what video Barr reviewed, since prior to the AP interview it had been widely reported that both surveillance cameras near Epstein’s cell were discovered to be dysfunctional following their removal as part of the FBI investigation.

Barr gave his interview two days after two MCC prison guards, Tova Noel and Michael Thomas, were arrested and charged on multiple counts in connection with their failure to monitor Epstein during the hours preceding his death. The guards, who had worked overtime shifts and extended hours at the understaffed facility, have been accused of “sleeping and browsing the internet” between 10:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m., when they should have been checking on Epstein every half-hour. They are also charged with filing fraudulent reports.

An attorney for one of the two, both of whom have pled not guilty, has said that the guards are being “scapegoated.” Even if the claims against them are true, the lawyer notes, such violations are normally considered prison employee disciplinary issues and not criminal actions.

The guards discovered Epstein with a noose made of bed sheets around his neck when they entered his cell in the morning to bring him breakfast.

Epstein had been in prison for more than a month before his death. He was arrested by the FBI on July 6 at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey and charged with multiple counts of sex trafficking, with victims including underage females.

On August 12, two days after Epstein was found dead, Barr gave comments to the press in which he seemed to question the claims of suicide, saying the Department of Justice was “now learning of serious irregularities at this facility that are deeply concerning and demand a thorough investigation.”

Although Barr is now endorsing the finding of the New York medical examiner that Epstein died from “suicide by hanging” and says that his conclusion is based on an investigation conducted by the FBI and the Justice Department inspector general, the details of this investigation have not been made public.

Barr’s “perfect storm” theory is dubious on its face since the known facts surrounding Epstein’s death, including any so-called prison “screwups,” point in the direction of murder, not suicide. The most important of these facts are:

Epstein was a member of the financial elite with social and business ties to top US political figures, foreign dignitaries, royalty and the super-rich around the world. Many of these associates frequented Epstein’s lavish residences in New York City and Little St. James in the Caribbean, euphemistically referred to as “Orgy Island.”

Epstein had been arrested and charged with sex crimes previously in 2006 and 2008, but his connections with people in high places resulted in cover-ups. In the first case he was permitted a “non-prosecution agreement” and immunity from all charges. In the second, he pled guilty to a prostitution charge and served 18 months in prison, during which he was granted a “work release” for up to 12 hours a day, 6 days a week, allowing him to come and go as he pleased.

In the 2019 case, it became clear that the Wall Street investment consultant would likely seek a plea deal, possibly giving information about ruling-class figures who were complicit in his alleged procurement of young girls for sex.

On July 23, Epstein was found injured and unconscious at 1:30 a.m. on the floor of his prison cell. Although authorities claimed Epstein attempted to kill himself, he reportedly told his legal team that his cellmate, former police officer Nicholas Tartaglione, who was facing four counts of murder, had assaulted and tried to kill him. Tartaglione was subsequently cleared of any wrongdoing by an internal prison review.

Epstein was then relocated to a special housing unit in the prison and placed on suicide watch. The Justice Department was told he would have a cellmate at all times. But on August 9, Epstein’s cellmate was inexplicably transferred out, with no replacement.

Forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden was present for the autopsy and has reported that the neck bone fractures, the broken blood vessels in the face and eyes and the depression from the ligature made of bed sheets around Epstein’s neck are consistent with homicidal murder, not suicide.

Epstein’s lawyers reported that he was in good spirits the day before he was found dead and that he exhibited no signs of depression or suicidal behavior and was looking forward to working on his legal defense.

The timing of Barr’s comments, coming on the heels of the indictment of the prison guards, indicates that the FBI and the Department of Justice are moving rapidly to shut down any further investigation into the events at the MCC on the night of August 9 and the morning of August 10.

Combined with the months-long campaign by the New York Times and the Washington Post to present the medical examiner Barbara Sampson’s finding of suicide as established fact and dismiss all questions about Epstein’s death as wild “conspiracy theories,” Barr’s intervention points to a continued effort to prevent a public airing of Epstein’s activities, his connections to prominent political and corporate figures and the highly suspicious circumstances of his death.

-But if you want to talk about an inconvenience, how about the fact that CNN itself was sitting on a key piece of evidence that goes a long way towards backing up Reade’s claim?

-While speaking to those handful of journalists willing to take her seriously, Reade said she told three people at the time. The third person Reade said she told was her mother, Jeanette Altimus. Unfortunately, Altimus passed in 2016. But as proof she told her mother, Reade relayed to reporters an incredible story about her desperate mother calling into CNN’s Larry King Live, sometime in 1993, to seek advice from King’s panel about what to do about her daughter’s problems with a “prominent senator.”

-In interviews with The Intercept, Reade also mentioned that her mother had made a phone call to “Larry King Live” on CNN, during which she made reference to her daughter’s experience on Capitol Hill. Reade told The Intercept that her mother called in asking for advice after Reade, then in her 20s, left Biden’s office. “I remember it being an anonymous call

-So here’s another critical detail Reade threw out there, another potential piece of evidence that would back up or debunk her allegation… And now that piece of evidence has been found… And incredibly it was not found by CNN.

-Further, Reade claims she did, indeed, file an official complaint, that there is a paper trail. But according to McHugh, if the complaint exists, it is locked up with Biden’s papers at the University of Delaware, and the university will not allow anyone to see those papers until two years after Biden retires from public life.

-Even after the bombshell video dropped late Friday afternoon, and despite being a 24/7 cable channel that employs hundreds, if not thousands, of staffers working for its website, as of this writing, CNN has still not published a single story about its own video, nor has it mentioned the bombshell revelation on the air.

So this seems like a good time to again remind everyone of the nine ways Reade’s allegation is not only much more credible than Blasey Ford’s, but objectively credible no matter how you look at it:

Coronavirus patients at a Brooklyn nursing home were denied admission to both of the medical facilities established in New York to handle victims of the pandemic even though beds were mostly empty.

The New York Post obtained access to email from the CEO of the Cobble Hill Health Center to state officials seeking to relocate sick residents.

“We don’t have the ability to cohort right now based on staffing and we really want to protect our other patients,” Cobble Hill CEO Donny Tuchman wrote in the chain of the emails.

“He was denied,” the Post reported.

“I was told those facilities were only for hospitals” to send their overflow patients, Tuchman said in the Post report:

New York health officials were warned in writing that a Brooklyn nursing home where 55 patients have died of coronavirus was overwhelmed — weeks before it began topping the state’s official list of resident COVID-19 deaths, damning emails show.

Cobble Hill Health Center CEO Donny Tuchman sent a desperate email to state Health Department officials on April 9, asking if there was “a way for us to send our suspected covid patients” to the hospital built inside the Javits Convention Center or the US Naval hospital ship Comfort — the under-utilized federal medical facilities on Manhattan’s West Side.

At the time Tuchman sent his plea, only 134 of the 1,000 beds at the Javits Center were full and the Comfort — which had just been reconfigured to treat up to 500 COVID-19 patients — had a mere 62 on board.

The Post reported that when the article was published, Cobble Hill led the state in nursing home deaths.

Officials Back Down from Enforcing Coronavirus Orders Against Defiant Texas Restaurant Owner

HOUSTON, Texas — Harris County law enforcement officials backed down as the owner of the Federal American Grill decided to re-open his restaurant on the city’s west side despite orders directing restaurants to be closed except for curbside orders. Multiple law enforcement agencies in Houston said they were not responsible for enforcing the ordinance.

“We’ve complied 100 percent until now,” Brice told the Houston Chronicle. “What I don’t like is that the government is picking and choosing which businesses win or lose. They are sinking the economy. We have to stand our ground and get people back to work.”

After he announced the re-opening of his restaurant for dining-in, customers flocked to his side. Brice said he is only seating up to 30 percent of his capacity in order to maintain social distancing.

Customers reacted positively to the re-opening. “We are ready to get out and have some fun with our girlfriends. I’ve read all the precautions (Brice) is taking, and I think it’s fabulous,” Houston resident Brenda Cheney told the local newspaper.

In contrast to Dallas, Houston law enforcement officials chose to not enforce the prohibition against in-house dining at the restaurant.

“No law enforcement officers or agencies attempted to stop or cite Brice for defying Harris County’s stay-at-home order, which limits restaurants to delivery and takeout orders in an effort to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus,” the Houston Chronicle wrote.

The Houston newspaper contacted several police agencies including the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Harris County Fire Marshal, Precinct 5 Constable’s Office, and the Houston Police Department. Each said that a different agency was responsible for enforcement of the to-go or curbside only orders.

Deep State Barr Blocks Release Of 9/11 Documents Despite Promises To Victims' Families.

On Monday, U.S. Attorney General William Barr, acting director of national intelligence Richard Grenell, and other senior officials called on a federal judge to prevent the disclosure of files related to the role of the government of Saudi Arabia in the September 11 attacks. The officials told the judge in the civil case that the release of the files would endanger national security.

The files are being sought by families of the 9/11 victims who have spent the last two decades attempting to uncover the truth about the attacks. The families filed a lawsuit in federal district court in New York in 2017 as part of their effort to uncover the role of the Saudi government. What is publicly known is that the alleged 9/11 hijackers had a relationship with Saudi government officials. As Pro Public reported, at the 2019 White House September 11 memorial, U.S. President Donald Trump promised the families he would help them uncover the truth about 9/11.

Pro Publica notes that four statements from FBI and Justice Department officials were also under seal and can not be seen by the public. Another five statements from FBI, Justice Department, and CIA officials were only seen by the judge and could not even be shared with the families’ lawyers. Steven Pounian, a lawyer for the families also suggested that there must be some deep, dark secret that they’re still trying very hard to hide after almost 20 years, and that it might be a Saudi government secret

I think the 9/11 families have lost all hope that the president is going to step up and do the right thing.

Unfortunately, William Barr does not have a record of trustworthy actions. As far back as 1989 Barr discussed his belief that the FBI could legally abduct people in foreign countries without the consent of the foreign government. The opinion was revealed in a leaked legal memo authored by Barr while he was serving as the head of the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel (OLC). Barr chose to withhold the full memo and asked the public to trust his conclusion.

In the weeks after 9/11, when the U.S. government began to seize powers to roundup foreign citizens, spy on Americans, and torture anyone accused of terrorism, Newsweek noted that Barr had played a role in paving the way for such actions.

Israeli Hospital to Begin Treating Coronavirus Patients with Cannabis

TEL AVIV – An Israeli hospital will begin testing COVID-19 patients with medicinal cannabis, which is known to have anti-viral properties, as part of a new experimental treatment.

Barak Cohen, a senior anesthesiologist who is in charge of managing the hospital’s coronavirus response, stressed the treatment would alleviate symptoms by using “a component of the cannabis plant that is considered safe and non-addictive.”

Separately, researchers at Tel Aviv University have begun developing a CBD-based drug that has been shown to be effective against inflammation for coronavirus-infected lung cells.

The Technion Institute of Technology in Haifa is also working to develop two complementary drugs based on various cannabis strains to fight the virus. The first will attempt to reduce the patient’s immune response while the second aims to slow down the course of the disease by lowering the expression of the receptor, a protein that allows the virus to receive and release substances outside of the cell.

“Our lab has been approved to operate as a coronavirus lab, and we are currently promoting two studies based on existing cannabis studies,” Prof. Dudi Meiri, who is leading the Technion’s team, told Calcalist.

“First, we will try to identify the plant’s immune cells that are capable of suppressing the immune response to the coronavirus, which causes inflammation and disease. Cannabis plant molecules have the ability to lower the immune system response without suppressing it entirely, thereby providing better complementary treatment than steroids, which completely suppress the immune system.”

The second study Meiri will be conducted on the receptor which allows the virus to inject its genetic expression into human cells and proliferate.

“There is a process that examines the effect of cannabis molecules on proteins as well,” he explained. “We are now examining which ones are relevant to the same receptor, with the goal of lowering its expression, making it difficult for the virus to enter the cell and proliferate.”

Election officials will automatically mail New Yorkers a postage-paid absentee ballot application during the coronavirus pandemic, Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) said Friday.

“We’re making great progress to flatten the curve and decrease the spread of infection, but we don’t know when this pandemic will end and we can’t put democracy on hold,” he stated.

“I am issuing an Executive Order to ensure every New York voter automatically receives a postage-paid application for an absentee ballot because no New Yorker should have to choose between their health and their right to vote,” the governor continued.

Recently, Cuomo also issued an executive order allowing residents to vote absentee in the June 23 primary election, the announcement noted.

However, the New York GOP called the move an “illegal and unconstitutional political power grab that will severely undermine the integrity of our elections,” according to Breitbart News.

“The ‘never let a crisis go to waste’ mentality has permeated the Governor’s office and Cuomo is using this pandemic as a reason to expand his powers and force his political agenda through,” said chairman Nick Langworthy.

Next Step Skynet? Pentagon Plugging AI Into Supply Chain Data Amid COVID-19 Crisis

The Department of Defence has jumped at the chance to prove the worth of its new artificial intelligence capabilities amid the coronavirus pandemic, with the move coming just months after the approval of a set of guidelines for the ‘ethical’ use of AI technology on the battlefield.

The Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC), the entity created in 2018 to oversee and coordinate nearly all the Pentagon’s AI-related efforts, has come up with a prototype tool which can be plugged into logistics and supply-chain data to sniff out potential supply shortages ahead of time amid the COVID-19 crisis, Defense One has reported, citing officials familiar with the effort.

The tool, named ‘Salus’, after the Roman goddess of welfare, health and prosperity, is touted as being capable of using predictive analytics to find areas where supply shortages are expected, from the level of individual stores to zip codes, states and even the entire continental United States.

Salus is already said to be deployed with the supply and logistics systems of Northern Command (responsible for territorial defence) and the National Guard, with these commands tasked with supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s COVID-19 response. Nand Mulchandani, JAIC’s chief technical officer, says that the Pentagon’s new tool provides predictive capability and data overlay, with the information gathered sent “directly into the systems that they’re using” to increase the efficiency of the military response.

The Salus tool has quietly been used to aggregate data on emergency medical supplies including face masks and ventilators, with its next task being the “resource allocation” of things like food. The tool is said to make use of publicly available data such as census information, hospital data, etc., as well as information provided by corporations, including the all-important sell-through data on which products are being bought and in which geographic location.

Mulchandani insists that the AI tool is privacy-friendly, and based on purchasing trends, rather than what any individual might buy.

The company hopes that down the road, Salus could be deployed across the entire US military, and even Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2), the new multi-billion Pentagon effort to connect sensors and weapons systems across all domains – air, land, sea, space and cyberspace.

According to JAIC Lt. Cdr. Arlo Abrahamson, Salus is in reality a functional prototype applying a portion of the JADC2 concept envisioned by planners.

Researchers are investigating cannabidiol, the non-psychoactive component of cannabis also known as CBD, can slow down the spread of the virus and stop moderate patients from turning critical.Dozens of COVID-19 patients in moderate condition at Ichilov Medical Center in Tel Aviv are expected to be treated.

Barak Cohen, a senior anesthesiologist who is in charge of managing the hospital’s coronavirus response, stressed the treatment would alleviate symptoms by using “a component of the cannabis plant that is considered safe and non-addictive.”

Separately, researchers at Tel Aviv University have begun developing a CBD-based drug that has been shown to be effective against inflammation for coronavirus-infected lung cells.

The Technion Institute of Technology in Haifa is also working to develop two complementary drugs based on various cannabis strains to fight the virus. The first will attempt to reduce the patient’s immune response while the second aims to slow down the course of the disease by lowering the expression of the receptor, a protein that allows the virus to receive and release substances outside of the cell.

“Our lab has been approved to operate as a coronavirus lab, and we are currently promoting two studies based on existing cannabis studies,” Prof. Dudi Meiri, who is leading the Technion’s team, told Calcalist.

“First, we will try to identify the plant’s immune cells that are capable of suppressing the immune response to the coronavirus, which causes inflammation and disease. Cannabis plant molecules have the ability to lower the immune system response without suppressing it entirely, thereby providing better complementary treatment than steroids, which completely suppress the immune system.”

The second study Meiri will be conducted on the receptor which allows the virus to inject its genetic expression into human cells and proliferate.

“There is a process that examines the effect of cannabis molecules on proteins as well,” he explained. “We are now examining which ones are relevant to the same receptor, with the goal of lowering its expression, making it difficult for the virus to enter the cell and proliferate.”

One Texas town declared itself re-opened for business after weeks of lockdown for Coronavirus concerns. The mayor of Colleyville issued a proclamation to re-open the Fort Worth suburb effective Friday,April 24

Retail stores that were not deemed “essential services” under previous orders could now be open to allow customers to pick-up orders. Delivery by mail or delivery to a customer’s doorstep are also allowed as long as social distancing is practiced.

In-person visits to gyms, massage establishments, salons, and other businesses described as “hands-on” may be utilized on a “one-on-one” basis by appointment only. Gyms may conduct classes of ten or fewer students as long as social distancing is practiced.

Restaurants with outside patio areas may allow customers to dine on-site as long a tables provide for social distancing.

The move by the Colleyville mayor comes in advance of any similar order from the State of Texas and is apparently causing confusion or opposition in neighboring communities.

Neighboring Southlake Mayor Karen Hill told MSN, “Our businesses are panicking. They don’t know what is going on.”

Tarrant County Executive Officer Glen Whitley told the news outlet he is not sure if the Colleyville order is even legal under state emergency orders.

Two hair salon owners in Auburn defy stay-at-home orders, both reopen to pay bills

AUBURN, Calif. (KTXL) — Hair salons and barbershops across the state have been closed since March under the state’s stay-at-home order.

After more than a month without income, two business owners in Auburn have decided to defy that order and reopen their doors to customers anyway.

For Clip Cage owner Breann Curtis, it was either defy the state’s stay-at-home order or face collections.

“I have to do what I have to do. I’m fighting to provide for my children and myself and my family right now,” explained Curtis.

After losing thousands of dollars, Curtis told FOX40 that it was time to take a chance and reopen.

“It’s been very hard. I’m pregnant. I have children at home,” said Curtis.

Closing shop in March meant she could no longer work to support her family, missing out on thousands of dollars in lost income.

She’s not the only salon owner who reached their breaking point.

Tisha Fernhoff runs the Beauty Bar Salon in the same Auburn shopping complex and also made the call to open her doors.

“How much longer am I supposed to go down the rabbit hole before I just throw in the towel and go back to work?” Fernhoff told FOX40.

Fernhoff and Curtis are stepping up their sanitation practices to keep customers safe, wiping down chairs in-between clients, disinfecting materials and providing hand sanitizer to anyone walking in the door.

On her first day back open, Curtis said she did 20 haircuts and the appointments keep coming in.

“My husband has been searching for a place to get his hair cut and he said, ‘I know this lady you got to go now,’” said customer Grace Ferolino.

Curtis said she worries about the penalty for opening shop before the stay-at-home order is lifted but said business owners like her are simply out of options. She said she hopes state leaders will understand they are just trying to survive.

“They need to do something. They need to help us to open up. People are losing their salons. People are losing their barbershops. People are losing their business. That’s going to affect the economy, hugely,” said Curtis.

Both owners told FOX40 they don’t qualify for unemployment and were denied applications for the Paycheck Protection Program.
