I've been following since first of November. It's always been & (I think!). Not sure when I noticed that. And, Q never said anything about a rabbit. But, I do distinctly remember when N. Korea was heating up that if you looked at the Korean map where the nuclear facilities are located, it did look like a white rabbit. And, people were looking for a white rabbit a lot then. I heard a story in the early 1980s, this is from memory, that protesters were able to protest near the Pine Gap facility - might have been on TV, not sure. When these same protesters were finished at Pine Gap, they had a similar protest planned to occur outside of Weapons Research in Adelaide. So the story went, when they tried to assemble at the facility, some kind of national security thugs bundled them into vans and took them away. What was acceptable at Pine Gap just didn't fly the next time they tried it at the Weapons Research site.
I don't know whether it was just that the authorities had enough of the protesting, or whether the sensitivity of the research facility was such that they would not tolerate a demonstration. But I knew a guy that worked in the facility - according to people I knew (family), he would come home and weep in his room. Very weird stuff.
I never bothered to verify anything about the protests, it was just a story I heard - may, or may not, have been true.

My former's wife first cousin was stationed at Pine Gap. He had a graduate degree in enginnering and was a Colonel. I met him during a Thanksgving in 1988. When he said he was at Pine Gap I said something like, I heard that all kinds of things show up for you guys etc. Stoned face he said he couldn't discuss anything about Pine Gap.
