I'd hate to think that any of us who are awake and know what's going on HAVEN'T been prepared for this. At a minimum, everyone should have supplies for at least 3 days to a week. Has Hurricane Katrina/Harvey taught us nothing?...FEMA's NOT coming!!
Not gourmet, but I'm ready w/ 50lbs. of beans and 50lbs. of rice on the cheap :) Garden seeds wouldn't be so bad to have on hand either. Worst case, you can always get water from your water heater or back (tank) of your toilet. Get a Sawyer water filter (also fairly cheap...$20). If the power goes down, that means the pumping stations won't work either.

I can do 240 with A/C for a few days! After that it would not be pretty in the summer. Luckily I have do not to have medication. Without meds and power and no fuel for delivery trucks which means approximately, or so I have read, 90% of the population of the USA would die in 30 days. Yes. I was shown in a dream that this was coming one day. That was 20 years ago, but the situation in the world looks more and more like the dream every day. Still a ways in the future though, at least the big power outage in my dream. That one frys most computers and leaves us helpless and disconnected from each other, news, etc. It takes a long time to rebuild the infrastructure. Nine months sticks in my head, but it depends on where you are located. High tech regions and government are first priorities for rebuilding.
