The “Epsilon” variant’s 3 spike protein mutations could weaken vaccines by breaking down the neutralized antibodies, according to a study by the University of Washington School of Medicine.

Earlier this week scientists claimed the “Lambda” variant, which supposedly originated in Peru last summer, is highly contagious and may be resistant to Covid-19 vaccines.

Meanwhile, the Biden Administration is using the “Delta” variant to scare Americans into getting vaccinated.

China spells out wartime conscription plans for first time

Did the House Sergeant at Arms Just Accidentally Name Ashli Babbitt’s Shooter?

Arms for the House of Representatives, and in an interview with Congressional member Herrera-Buetler in a January 6 hearing just released, he dropped a name he probably shouldn’t have.

The January 6 hearing appeared on C-SPAN, and he seems to have just causally dropped the name without thinking.

“The situation where you discussed, where Officer [Byrd] was at the door when Ms. Babbitt was shot, it was our Sergeant at Arms employee who rendered the aid.”

Now why would he mention officer Byrd in the context of Ashli Babbitt’s shooting? Mike Bird is an African American Lieutenant with the Capitol Police and was reported by Roll Call as having once left his service weapon in a bathroom in 2019.

“A U.S. Capitol Police lieutenant left his service weapon in a bathroom Monday night and the unattended gun was discovered later by another Capitol Police officer,” Roll Call reported.

“After the House adjourned on Monday, Lt. Mike Byrd left his Glock 22 in a bathroom in the Capitol Visitor Center complex, according to sources familiar with the incident,” the report said. “Byrd is the commander of the House Chambers section of the Capitol Police and was on the job Tuesday and Wednesday.”

“Byrd addressed the incident at Tuesday morning’s officer roll call and, according to sources, told fellow officers that he ‘will be treated differently’ because of his rank as a lieutenant,” the report added. “It was not clear what exactly the lieutenant meant by the comment.”

The New York Times who refuses to name names but referred to the officer who shot and killed the unarmed Babbitt as a “lieutenant” and a “veteran officer.”

He was not charged with excessive force or negligence despite the fact that he shot and killed an unarmed 34-year-old and unarmed female Ashli Babbitt at point blank range in the neck and murdered her. Capitol Police are directly supervised by the United States Congress, and are of course immune to subpoena.

“More than six weeks after Babbitt succumbed to a single gunshot wound to the upper chest, authorities are keeping secret the identity of the officer who fired the fatal round,” Real Clear Investigations’ Paul Sperry noted. “They won’t release his name, and the major news media aren’t clamoring for it, in stark contrast to other high-profile police shootings of unarmed civilians.”

“The officer who opened fire on Babbitt holds the rank of lieutenant and is a longtime veteran of the force who worked protective detail in the Speaker’s Lobby, a highly restricted area behind the House chamber, sources say,” Sperry notes. “An African-American, he was put on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation led by the Metropolitan Police of the District of Columbia, which shares jurisdiction with the Capitol Police. The Justice Department is also involved in the inquiry.”

In April the Biden Department of Justice ran by disgruntled and butthurt Attorney General Merrick Garland dropped all charges related to the still unnamed and unidentified officer who shot and killed Babbitt. Garland of course was nominated for the Supreme Court by then President Obama, however the Republican led Senate refused to vote on him until after the presidential election, which President Trump won in 2016.

So many Christian churches across Canada have been set ablaze or vandalized that it's becoming hard to even keep track.

Worse yet, the wheels of justice are still barely in motion in response to these attacks

— despite many of them occurring on indigenous land.

Things have gotten so bad that even First Nations leaders and members have taken to pleading with people to stop attacking their churches.

One person who doesn't seem to have a lot of sympathy for these Christian churches is a former

sidekick and right-hand man to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau:

Gerald Butts. Butts, responding in a tweet about the churches, described the attacks as “understandable.”

On a Rebel News DAILY Livestream, Ezra Levant shared his thoughts on Butts' understanding of these attacks.

Japan bans Olympics spectators at Tokyo venues

The 2020 Olympics will be held without spectators in Tokyo, the organizing committee said Thursday, as the Japanese capital enters a fourth state of emergency after a surge in COVID-19 infections. The committee will decide whether to allow spectators at venues in three surrounding prefectures after consulting with local authorities.

The Tokyo Olympics, postponed by one year due to the pandemic, now will be held without fans at the opening ceremony as well as at specific events in the capital. Nikkei had learned that organizers were leaning toward the decision early in the evening, during five-way talks among the Japanese and Tokyo governments and Olympic officials. It comes hours after Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga announced emergency measures for Tokyo that will last through Aug. 22, covering the length of the Summer Olympics and ending days before the Paralympics begin. Speaking before the meeting, International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach indicated that organizers were always open to the possibility of shutting out all spectators in the interest of a "safe and secure" games. Tokyo 2020 organizers last month decided to cap spectators at 10,000 in large venues and ban alcohol sales at Olympic events, in response to criticism from a public that has lived through dry restaurants and closed bars since the end of April.

The organizing committee and their domestic sponsors, the 68 Japanese corporations that raised over $3 billion for the games, had held out hope that some local spectators would be allowed after overseas fans were banned from entering Japan in March. The decision clouded Bach's arrival in Japan. Bach will quarantine for three days in Tokyo before visiting Hiroshima next week for the first day of the Olympic truce, a U.N. tradition to cease hostilities and grant safe passage to athletes. His lieutenant John Coates, who arrived in Japan mid-June, will visit Nagasaki on the same day. Athletes and other officials are meant to remain in Olympic bubbles in Tokyo.

Asked why the Olympics are being held while other large events such as rock festivals are canceled, Suga told reporters on Thursday evening that the games will also be subject to domestic restrictions. "I have argued that I won't hesitate to ban spectators if a state of emergency is declared," Suga said. "I will do everything in my power to contain the infections and accelerate vaccinations to get back our normal life." Thursday's decision follows the recommendations of Shigeru Omi, Japan's top medical adviser on COVID-19, who told Tokyo 2020 President Seiko Hashimoto in June that holding the games without spectators would be "least risky and desirable." "We want to make sure that the next state of emergency is the last one," Yasutoshi Nishimura, the minister overseeing Japan's COVID response, said earlier on Thursday. Placing the capital and its 14 million people under restrictions for a fourth time for the unpopular Olympics is a politically risky move for Suga, who must call a general election this October.

Although his party won the most seats in the Tokyo metropolitan assembly election last Sunday, the Liberal Democratic Party's failure to secure the majority was seen as a signal of voter dissatisfaction with the government's COVID response and Olympic plans.
