One of Trump’s biggest achievements was shifting the balance of the formerly ultra-liberal 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. That’s paying dividends in regards to a ruling against California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who is facing a recall effort and has seen his star dim over the last month.

The court slapped down Newsom’s discriminatory and arbitrary shuttering of private schools, something he ostensibly did in response to the COVID pandemic. Oddly enough, rights don’t cease to exist just because politicians say so.

This is a good ruling, in my view. No governor should have the right to shut down private schools, especially when the shuttering of those schools appears arbitrary in contrast with other events still being allowed to take place. The point of private schools is to take the control of education out of the hands of the government. For that same government to then step in and close those schools in an arbitrary fashion is completely out of line.

Further, the battle against private schools during the pandemic has always looked like spite. Whether it was in happening California, New York, or Maryland, these Democrat politicians wanted to produce shared misery that helped push their progressive policies along the way. Given their opposition to the very nature of private schooling, sticking it to those entities was an easy call.

Even with this victory, though, the battle continues in regards to public schools. The 9th Circuit did not rule the issue moot based on this ruling, which means other challenges can go forward. Those include other aspects of Newsom’s emergency orders, including the forced closure of public schools. We’ll see how those turn out, but all of this is bad news for the governor as his lockdown efforts have been a primary driver of the recall effort against him. The more this stays in the news, the worse Newsom looks. That’s a good thing for the future of California.

Arizona RINO State Senator Michelle Ugenti Rita also gave a speech but she was booed off of the stage as her words were muffled by the crowd, turned angry mob.

After feeling the heat from the crowd of thousands, The Gateway Pundit’s Jordan Conradson ran into her in another part of the arena.

Ugenti-Rita left the building when asked questions by Conradson. Shortly after, she back and when he saw her again and she told officers on sight that Conradson was harassing her.

The police did nothing because no laws were being violated.

Conradson compared this behavior to that of radical leftist Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, whose seat she is running for.

Roughly ten minutes later, Conradson was detained by event officials and escorted from the building for “harassing” Ugenti Rita.

After walking away, he called AZ State Senator Kelly Townsend, who encouraged him to come back peacefully and fight this.

While on the phone with the Senator and simply walking to meet her outside of the event, police grabbed Conradson and used handcuffs to put him in the back of a police car.

Conradson could hear police radios accusing him of being a member of the Proud Boys, a right-wing organization that the left has labeled as terrorists. Conradson has no affiliation with any political groups.

The police said he was facing a misdemeanor and a fine of up to $900.

This tyrant violated Conradson’s free press rights.

State Senator Kelly Townsend raised hell when this happened which is most likely what led to Conradson’s release.

The officers dropped Conradson off at his vehicle and said that he is permanently banned from the venue.

In a highly unusual move, one of the U.S. Air Force’s E-4B Nightwatch aircraft, also known as National Airborne Operations Centers, or NAOCs, touched down today at Tonopah Test Range Airport (TTR), one of the most famous secretive aircraft operating locations in the United States, only surpassed by nearby Area 51. What might have triggered this highly unusual visit is puzzling, to say the least, but it seems it could (me must stress could) have been related to a possible visit to the facility by Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III.

Confirmation of the E-4B’s arrival into TTR was provided using data available from open-source flight data website ADS-B Exchange, with the jet, serial number 74-0787, using the TITAN25 callsign usually assigned when the Secretary of Defense is onboard.

Judge Refuses To Identify Five Market Participants Accused Of VIX Manipulation

Long before meme stocks came along and reddit discovered what Zero Hedge readers had known since 2013, namely that to outperform the market all one has to do is go long the most shorted stocks, there were inverse VIX trades and the relentless moneymaking juggernaut that was shorting volatility, i.e. collecting stacks of cash in front of a dormant volatility steamroller. But on Feb 5, 2018 the steamroller woke up with a vengeance, and shortly after the close, the infamous volmageddon event took place when a handful of the most popular inverse VIX strategies crashed from near record highs to zero in a manner of minutes as ETN liquidation triggers were activated, sending the VIX briefly to record highs and wiping out billions in value and leaving countless retail investors stunned and facing total losses.

Yet while to retail investors losses were in the hundreds or, at most, thousands of dollars (recall this was in the pre-stimmy stage when people cared about their money), some hedge funds got completely wiped out. One among them was LJM Partners, a Chicago-based fund that lost $446.8 million in one day from the market moves, wiping out 86.5% of its assets in seconds. And so LJM and more than two dozen other investors and fund managers sued over the next year to recover losses, claiming unidentified market participants that rigged the index “repeatedly posted and immediately canceled” tens of thousands of quotes for S&P 500 options, whose prices are used to calculate the VIX. The plaintiffs, understandably furious at the events of Feb 5, claiming that unidentified market participants manipulated the VIX by posting S&P 500 options quotes that only stayed in the order book for milliseconds, not long enough for anyone to trade against but enough time for them to be incorporated into the value of the VIX. That technique, known as “flashing” and popularized back in 2009 first by this website, was unrelated to any legitimate positions the unidentified market participants held or wished to hold, but successfully manipulated the price of S&P 500 options and futures contracts, LJM claimed, even though the CBOE which is the Chicago-based owner of the VIX and the exchange where S&P 500 options trade, has repeatedly dismissed claims of manipulation of the index. And while LJM has yet to recover any funds, on Friday the defunct fund suffered another setback, when a federal judge refused to identify five market participants accused in the lawsuit of manipulating the VIX index.

US District Judge Manish S. Shah, during a telephone conference Friday in Chicago, said the plaintiffs had failed to provide enough evidence of actual manipulation to justify revealing the names of the market participants, who were identified only by code names in exchange records. “Plaintiffs have not demonstrated good cause” for the disclosure, said Shah, who had earlier authorized the release of exchange data to help them make their case. “Rather than specific allegations of manipulation, plaintiffs’ complaints offer a menu of what they characterize as potentially manipulative conduct that may have occurred on February 5 and 6, 2018,” the market participants said in a court filing.

While a clear setback to those funds who were short the VIX and lost all (or even more than all) of their principal, the court decision was striking because there is no reason why the five VIX trading counterparties - whether they manipulated the index or not - should not be named. After all, what's the damage if they indeed did not manipulate the index as the judge has found? So here's a thought: the judge refused to name the VIX "counterparties" not out of concerns about "good cause" or exposing trade secrets, but because if the judge had revealed the identities of those trading the VIX, it would have had a profound adverse impact on market confidence. Which can only mean that among those "trading" the VIX were none other than the Fed, via its market-facing entity, the New York Fed trading desk, or even more likely, the Fed's market proxy - Citadel. It is about $1.2 trillion in sales; you take 60 months, you get about $20 billion a month. That is a very doable thing, it sounds like, in a market where the norm by the middle of next year is $80 billion a month. Another way to look at it, though, is that its not so much the sale, the duration; its also unloading our short volatility position.

Nazeera is an Indian immigrant and Landmark represented her during the JC election cycle in 2015. She was a member of the Republican Leadership Program when she qualified for Post 5 in JC. Nazeera advertised herself as a fiscal Republican, tough on taxes, a woman with ‘Republican family values’. She was defeated for the position after information showing the complete opposite was released to the public. She was removed from the Republican Leadership Program after this development.

Nazeera is in the ‘founders’ photo below, of the event ‘Tacos, Beers, And Abortions’, sponsored by the National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum. Nazeera is obviously not a conservative. It was also found out during the election that Nazeera is not a medical doctor.

Nazeera’s husband also made a video about his wife not being a Republican and being nudged into politics by Democrat operatives in Fulton County, GA.

Tropical storm Nepartak is moving north over the sea southeast of Japan and threatening to pass near or make landfall in eastern Japan or the Tohoku region on Tuesday. Meteorological officials are warning that the major storm could bring strong winds, heavy rain and high waves. They say Nepartak was heading north on Sunday at 6 p.m., local time, near Minamitorishima Island of the Ogasawara Islands at 15 kilometers per hour.

The United Arab Emirates is creating its own rain using drones that fly into clouds and unleash electrical charges to beat the sweltering 122 degrees Fahrenheit (50 degrees Celsius) heat.

The rain is formed using drone technology that gives clouds an electric shock to 'cajole them' into clumping together and producing precipitation.

The UAE is one of the most arid countries on Earth, and it hopes the technique could help to increase its meagre annual rainfall.

And it is working. Video footage released by the UAE's National Center of Meteorology shows monsoon-like downpours across the country which create a sheet of rain on the highways.

Waterfalls are also seen on the side of roads as drivers in SUVs struggle to navigate the torrential rain - despite the country being in the middle of a summer heatwave where temperatures have soared above 122F (50C).

The Center said the precipitation has been enhanced by a technique known as cloud seeding, and its purpose is to increase condensation in the hope that it might trigger a downpour.
