A third of people with confirmed Covid cases in Wales in the past week were unvaccinated, according to new figures released by Public Health Wales.

The figures also showed 99% of people who tested positive for Covid in the past week in Wales were under 60. Of these, 37% were unvaccinated.

Nearly 13% of hospital patients with confirmed Covid were unvaccinated.

PHW said the vaccines had helped keep Covid hospital numbers much lower during the third wave.

Although 80% of patients have been double-dosed with a vaccine, public health officials said this is not evidence that the vaccine is not working- and that vaccines keep 95% of people out of hospital.

The Werner Otto Mail-Order Company was first set up in two buildings in the Schnelsen district of Hamburg, Germany, where Werner pasted photographs of his products into mail-order catalogues. Within 10 years, the company that would become the Otto Group was contributing capital and employment to post-war Germany. The nature of the business and of mail-order sales changed when Otto Versand introduced the concept of payment by invoice with the motto “Trust for Trust.” With the innovation of the invoice and collective ordering, the catalogue expanded from simple shoes to include briefcases, raincoats and clothing as well as bicycles and appliances. Ever at the cusp of industry, Otto Versand began to take orders by telephone. Werner Otto was viewed as a pioneer of post-war trade who held influence over both German and international commerce, and Otto Versand expanded to employ thousands of people by 1961.

With success came change; the days when Werner had hand-stitched his own mail-order catalogues were long past. Werner Otto handed the reins to new CEO Günter Nawrath as the company opened its first purchasing office in Hong Kong and began to carry designs by celebrity fashion designers. Newly-printed catalogues were hundreds of pages long, and millions of copies circulated internationally. Not to be reliant on the German Postal service, Otto Versand founded its own delivery service, Hermes, to guarantee speedy delivery of placed orders whether they came by mail or telephone. One of the largest providers of HTTPS certificates, Let’s Encrypt, saw its root certificate expire this week — meaning you might need to upgrade your devices to prevent them from breaking.

Let’s Encrypt, a free-to-use nonprofit, issues certificates that encrypt the connections between your devices and the wider internet, ensuring that nobody can intercept and steal your data in transit. Millions of websites alone rely on Let’s Encrypt. But, as warned by security researcher Scott Helme, the root certificate that Let’s Encrypt currently uses — the IdentTrust DST Root CA X3 — was set to expire on September 30. After expiry, computers, devices and web clients — such as browsers — will no longer trust certificates that have been issued by this certificate authority.

For the overwhelming majority of website users, there is nothing to worry about and September 30 will be business as usual. Older devices, however, could run into some trouble, much like they did when the AddTrust External CA Root expired back in May. Stripe, Red Hat and Roku all suffered outages as a result.

“Given the relative size difference between Let’s Encrypt and AddTrust, I have a feeling that the IdenTrust root expiry has the potential to cause more problems,” Helme warned in a blog post, referring to the upcoming expiry.

Devices likely to be affected by the certificate expiry are those that don’t get updated regularly, like embedded systems that are designed not to automatically update or smartphones running years-old software releases. Users running older versions of macOS 2016 and Windows XP (with Service Pack 3) are likely to face issues, along with clients dependent on OpenSSL 1.0.2 or earlier, and older PlayStations that haven’t been upgraded to newer firmware.

While Android, in Let’s Encrypt’s words, has a “long-standing and well known issue with operating system updates”, the nonprofit has a workaround that might prevent the majority of smartphones from being impacted by the expiry. The organization this year transitioned to its own ISRG Root X1 certificate, which doesn’t expire until 2035. While many Android devices still don’t trust this certificate — namely versions of Android (Nougat) 7.1.1 and earlier — Let’s Encrypt obtained a cross-signature for its own certificate that’s valid for longer than the signing root, meaning most Android devices should remain breakage-free for three more years.

Some Android devices may still run into issues, Let’s Encrypt said, and it’s recommending that users running Android (Lollipop) 5.0 install Firefox.

“For an Android phone’s built-in browser, the list of trusted root certificates comes from the operating system — which is out of date on these older phones,” Let’s Encrypt explains. “However, Firefox is currently unique among browsers — it ships with its own list of trusted root certificates.”

Let’s Encrypt, which as of early September issued more than two billion certificates since it was founded in 2014, told TechCrunch that users should look at how many clients are using affected versions of OpenSSL and years-old operating systems. Its advice for those who can’t upgrade is to “look into whether serving a certificate chain with our new cross-sign makes sense.”

Market doesn’t always ‘know best,’" Omarova tweeted in 1999, adding (after receiving harsh criticism) "I never claimed women and men were treated absolutely equally in every facet of Soviet life. But people’s salaries were set (by the state) in a gender-blind manner. And all women got very generous maternity benefits. Both things are still a pipe dream in our society!"

What's more, Omarova supports several progressive proposals - including the Green New Deal, and the creation of a giant bureaucracy she dubbed the National Investment Authority, which would - among other things - coordinate the long term economic strategy for the United States with upcoming infrastructure developments, according to the Washington Free Beacon. It would also manage a "big and bold" climate agenda.

The authority would have a congressionally approved governing board and regional offices across the country. In addition to developing roads, bridges, and other traditional infrastructure projects, the authority would fund affordable housing, public transit, and clean energy projects, as well as "climate change mitigation solutions," Omarova told Congress this year. -Free Beacon

JPMorgan Chase & Co. says it’s being shut out of underwriting municipal-bond deals in Texas after the state enacted a law banning government work with banks that limit business with the firearms industry.

The law, which went into effect in September, prohibits governmental entities from working with a business that “discriminates” against firearm and ammunition businesses or organizations, according to Republican Governor Greg Abbott, who has touted the legislation. Texas’s fast-growing population has made it one of the biggest markets for the muni-bond business. This week, JPMorgan was replaced by UBS AG as the underwriter of a bond issue for Texas’s Decatur Hospital Authority, a local agency, according to a bond filing Thursday. “While our business practices should permit us to certify, the legal risk associated with this ambiguous law prevents us from bidding on most business right now with Texas public entities,” Patricia Wexler, a spokesperson for the bank, said in an emailed statement.

The law sought to target financial institutions for policies they’ve taken on in the wake of mass shootings in the U.S., with politicians in the gun-friendly state seeing it as a way of retaliating against them for weighing in on America’s freighted culture wars. Earlier this year, JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon told a Congressional committee that his bank won’t finance gun companies that make military-style weapons for consumers. Still, the effect of the law is not entirely clear in Texas. Another bank that was targeted by the legislation, Citigroup Inc., said in June that it didn’t think it was affected by the law. The law applies to a contract that has a value of at least $100,000. JPMorgan was credited with working on $3.6 billion of long-term municipal-bond deals in Texas in 2020, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. It was ranked as the seventh-biggest underwriter of deals out of the state.

This week, JPMorgan was replaced by UBS as the underwriter of a bond issue for the Decatur authority, an arm of a 7,000-person Texas city that operates Wise Health System. In July, the agency had disclosed that it was planning to have JPMorgan serve as senior managing underwriter on a financing that could include the sale of up to $150 million of bonds. The authority cited “uncertainty related to the implementation of new legislation passed by the State of Texas,” though it didn’t specify which law. Todd Scroggins, chief financial officer for Wise Health, didn’t respond to a request for comment, nor did a hospital spokesperson.

Encrypted email service ProtonMail has become embroiled in a minor scandal after responding to a legal request to hand over to Swiss police a user's IP address and details of the devices he used to access his mailbox – resulting in the netizen's arrest.

Police were executing a warrant obtained by French authorities and served on their Swiss counterparts through Interpol, according to social media rumours that ProtonMail chief exec Andy Yen acknowledged to The Register.

At the time of writing, the company's website said: "We believe privacy and security are universal values which cross borders."

After data from ProtonMail was handed to the Swiss and then French police, the author of a left-wing political activists' blog in France wrote (en français) that a group called Youth for Climate had been targeted:

The police also noticed that the collective communicated via a ProtonMail email address. They therefore sent a requisition (via EUROPOL) to the Swiss company managing the messaging system in order to find out the identity of the creator of the address. ProtonMail responded to this request by providing the IP address and the fingerprint of the browser used by the collective. It is therefore imperative to go through the tor network (or at least a VPN) when using a ProtonMail mailbox (or another secure mailbox) if you want to guarantee sufficient security.

ProtonMail has said in the past that it does not collect user data and implements end-to-end encryption, and repeated that over the weekend, saying: "Under no circumstances however, can our encryption be bypassed, meaning emails, attachments, calendars, files, etc, cannot be compromised by legal orders."

This statement, while bold, seems to be borne out by the service's privacy policy which states that it can access the following user information:

These are all standard unencrypted information from email headers, inherent to the SMTP email specification, though it appears that ProtonMail's previous promises about user information logging were a bit over-generous. Back in January this year, the company's homepage stated: "No personal information is required to create your secure email account. By default, we do not keep any IP logs which can be linked to your anonymous email account. Your privacy comes first."

Today that boast has been replaced with a mealy-mouthed version: "ProtonMail is email that respects privacy and puts people (not advertisers) first. Your data belongs to you, and our encryption ensures that. We also provide an anonymous email gateway."

The firm's privacy policy, which was updated yesterday, now says: "If you are breaking Swiss law, ProtonMail can be legally compelled to log your IP address as part of a Swiss criminal investigation."

In a statement posted to Reddit, which Yen forwarded to El Reg in lieu of making a statement of his own, ProtonMail said:

In this case, Proton received a legally binding order from the Swiss Federal Department of Justice which we are obligated to comply with. There was no possibility to appeal or fight this particular request because an act contrary to Swiss law did in fact take place (and this was also the final determination of the Federal Department of Justice which does a legal review of each case).

As a Swiss company, ProtonMail is obliged to obey Swiss law and comply with Swiss legal demands, though it's unclear why the company was logging user-agent strings and IP addresses of client logins. An option exists in ProtonMail's user interface to enable access logging, though there is no information in public to suggest whether or not the French environmental protestor had enabled that.

In a followup clarification, ProtonMail insisted: "ProtonMail does not give data to foreign governments; that’s illegal under Article 271 of the Swiss Criminal code. We only comply with legally binding orders from Swiss authorities.

"Swiss authorities will only approve requests which meet Swiss legal standards (the only law that matters is Swiss law)."

It reiterated: "There was no legal possibility to resist or fight this particular request." ®

1. Protonmail Behaves like a CIA/NSA “Honeypot”

Protonmail has an Onion domain that allows users to visit their site using the TOR browser. Protonmail even has an SSL cert for that onion address even though it’s completely unnecessary. When a user makes a new account with Protonmail on TOR they are re-directed from Protonmail’s “.onion” to “.com” address. This breaks your secure encrypted connection to their onion address, enabling your identification. There are absolutely no technical reasons for this feature. In fact, the only other websites that operate like this are suspected NSA/CIA Honeypots.

This is a huge security issue that was either created because Protonmail is managed by Particle physicists who do not understand computer security OR they have been forced to operate their website in a similar way as CIA/NSA honeypots. Both possibilities are serious concerns.

1. Protonmail Does Not Provide “End to End Encryption”

Professor Nadim Kobeissi mathematically proved that Protonmail does not provide End to End Encryption. Meaning, Protonmail has the ability to decrypt their own user’s data. When this was shown to be true, Protonmail users were outraged they had been lied to. Protonmail was forced to issue a public statement. Their statement begins like you would expect it would.. by shitting on the security researcher that revealed their dishonesty. Then they continued to say: “We lied to our users because other email companies did”. No apologies. They can decrypt any of their user’s data be sending them scripts that allow them to do so. However they advertise that they can not. Protonmail’s admission proves they offer the same security that Gmail offers. Both Gmail and Protonmail offer encryption that they can decrypt whenever they want.

1. Protonmail is Part Owned by CRV and the Swiss Government

After a successful crowdfunding campaign with promises to “remain independent” Protonmail sold equity ownership to CRV and FONGIT. At the time of the equity sale a CRV founder, Mr Ted Ditersmith, was working for the US State Department closely with President Obama. His position as a delegate required close contact with CIA & NSA administration. Mr. Ted Ditersmith had also witnessed the Edward Snowden revelations and made statements that he planned to use his corporate knowledge to “fight terrorism”. FONGIT is a Non Profit organization that is financed by the Swiss Government. Protonmail staff member, Antonio Gambardella, also works for the Swiss Government.

1. CRV, In-Q-Tel & the CIA

The CIA openly operates a front company, In-Q-Tel, whose stated purpose is to invest in tech companies on behalf of the CIA. In-Q-Tel has stated they have a specific interest in the information contained in e-mails and encrypted communication. In-Q-Tel has been shown to be the bridge between the CIA and Gmail. An analysis of staff members reveals CRV & In-Q-Tel connections. The US media confirms these connections when they interview CRV so that they can understand In-Q-Tel. Additionally, The mastermind, cryptographer & back end developer that created Protonmail, Wei Sun, now works for Google.

Far Left Judge Marie Avery Moses Issues Protective Order on Eric Coomer’s Deposition After He Comes Across as Completely Unhinged – But Not on Defendants Including The Gateway Pundit

What double standard?

The American left is out to destroy the justice system in the country today.

Attorney Sidney Powell announced during an interview last week that her legal team will depose Dominion’s Eric Coomer for questioning later in the day.

Coomer sued several Trump supporters, media outlets and media personalities following the 2020 presidential election, including Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, Michelle Malkin, Joe Oltmann, The Gateway Pundit and Jim Hoft, among others.

Eric Coomer was deposed for an hour by Powell’s attorneys last week.

From what we are hearing it was a complete disaster. The Dominion executive came across completely unhinged and angry.

That’s when far left Judge Marie Avery Moses stepped in to protect Eric Coomer.

Judge Moses issued a Protective Order that only grants secrecy to Eric Coomer’s deposition – but not anyone else’s.

According to our confidential source, The Judge issued this order sua sponte, which means that no one asked her to do this. She just did it on her own the day after Coomer gave a train-wreck deposition in which he was very clearly emotionally unstable, arrogant, and repeatedly failed to give direct answers to questions. He was clearly playing games and his testimony is simply not credible.”

The media is now blocked from downloading his testimony.

One wonders how the Judge came to this conclusion – the day after Coomer’s deposition – that his deposition transcript needed to be sealed.

Dr. Shiva’s Report: 25 Percent Surge In Duplicates After The 2020 Election

Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai’s EchoMail 180-page presentation for the Arizona Senate Republicans’ forensic audit on Sept. 24 shows a 25-percent surge in duplicate early voting ballot return envelopes (EVBREs) between Nov. 4 and Nov. 6 in the 2020 Maricopa County Presidential Election. His report also showed 34,448 EVBRE’s “originating from 17,126 unique voters.” The duplicates Shiva found were additional to those found in the Cyber Ninjas report. Shiva’s 99-page summary report can be found here.

Maricopa County never showed how many ballot envelopes they received. The County only showed how many early votes they counted. Shiva did not compare the signatures they examined with the voter registration signatures because the voter registration rolls were never made available to the audit team. However, reportedly, if a signature can’t be matched, the County contacts the voter.

Below is the summary of Shiva’s findings as compared with the first Maricopa audit. Maricopa reported 6,545 more unique EVBs than Shiva’s team while they reported no duplicate ballots.

Duplicates Surge After The Election

The increase in duplicate EVBs is shown in the graph below in the last six days of the counting, which ended on Nov. 9. No duplicates were reported in the Maricopa County canvass that Dr. Shiva used as a basis for his investigation. The blue line indicates the EVBRE’s received throughout the election. The red line represents blank signatures, and the green line represents scribbles.

The second graph below shows all the EVBREs, and the duplicates received in the same graph. “For two days, on 11/7/2020 and 11/9/2020,” said Shiva, “Over 96% of the daily EVBRE are duplicates. On the days of 11/5/2020, 11/7/2020, and 11/9/2020, the daily duplicates percentage is nine to ten times more than the highest daily duplicate percentage recorded on 10/19/2020.” He also notes anomalies on 10/16/2020, 10/26/2020, and 11/2/2020.

Various Findings Concerning the Duplicates

Developed by Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai, EchoMail is an automatic classification and pattern recognition program to help identify and organize documents. He developed the program to “automatically analyze and classify President Clinton’s emails.” He used the same process to more confidently verify what counts as a voter’s signature on a Maricopa County ballot.

Dr. Shiva analyzed data contained in the signature box on the EVBs at a very granular level, categorizing them by signature, blank, likely blank, and scribble. It is unknown how the County defined the signatures it examined.

Shiva explained EVBRE “is the protective vehicle by which the early voting ballot (EVB) is transported and processed. The authentication/verification of the signature on the EVB return envelope is critical to the reliability of the process.” Shiva maintains that it is difficult to ascertain proper verification of a vote if one cannot reliably check signatures to ensure a person’s ballot equates to the same person’s vote.

Shiva classified the duplicates as 2, 3, and 4 copy duplicates. Oddly, many duplicate blanks were verified, stamped, and approved by the County. Some were stamped and approved in the signature box region of the EVBs. There were also EVBs with the same name, address, signature, and phone number with two different voter IDs. The County confirmed that voters should not share voter IDs.

There were discrepancies between Shiva’s numbers and those shown by the Maricopa County canvass. Shiva stated the bad signature and the no signature EVBs were surprisingly low in number compared to those reported in 2016. Shiva found over four times more bad signatures (scribbles) than Maricopa County found.

To put the bad signature anomaly into perspective, it means there was allegedly only one bad signature for every 3,268 EVBs in the County’s election. The graph below shows the proportions of that perspective:

The inverse relationship between bad signatures and total EVBs, comparing the 2016 and 2020 elections, is shown in a table from the Maricopa County Recorder’s office below. There are more ballots, fewer bad signatures, and blanks for 2020. Fewer ballots, more bad signatures, and blanks for 2016. One would expect that with more people voting, the errors would increase, for example.

Maricopa County’s explanation for scribbles is that some voters cannot fully sign their names on the EVBRE, so the County visually approves the signatures.

Special bipartisan election boards assist voters who may need assistance w/ signing affidavits. Often, in case of severe medical conditions such as stroke, people may only be able to make a small mark such as an X. Our boards visually affirm the marks are the voter's correct sig.

Shiva also noted some odd patterns in the illegible signatures when he compared the signature submissions before the election with the ones after. There was a 3% to 97% increased illegibility rate of signatures four days after the election. Four weeks prior to the election, the inverse was true.

As Senate President Karen Fann explained in her press conference after the audit report presentations, many questions may have been in service of the final reports by Maricopa County had they cooperated with the auditors. They resisted the auditors at every turn.

“We were doing an audit to the best of our abilities, and can you imagine if you were an auditor and you went in to audit one of our agencies or a big corporation, and they said we’re only gonna let you see these books over here, we’re not gonna let you see them over here. So, an auditor can only do the audit on what they’re available to see. And, of course, that audit is going to have a disclaimer on it that says, ‘I did this to the best of my ability. It doesn’t answer all the questions, but I can tell you what this leads me to, and I can tell you some suggestions about what it may or may not be. But it needs further investigation. That’s the best we can do’.”
