Thanks so much. Total population and totally annual natural deaths very similar to EuroMOMO area. Right now there are overall 414 reported deaths/million in US. If same as Europe, US about 80% complete. Certainly hope this is true and US saturates at no more than 170,000 deaths.

Three states would likely lose seats in the House of Representatives if President Trump's order stands to exclude illegal immigrants from the apportionment process that allocates seats based on the census.

>State sovereignty, in terms of the organisation and expression of political authority by nation states, is traditionally interpreted as a political container that is being weakened by increasing human and non-human mobilities. However recent research indicates that states are themselves becoming more mobile as executive bodies move and sovereign spaces are tactically reduced and expanded to intercept and control global mobilities. While challenging dichotomous notions of mobility and sovereignty, such research frames the movements of governments, territory and sovereign agents as the tactics of already established states. This paper builds on extant research by drawing on both a mobile ontology and Giorgio Agamben's theory of sovereignty to examine how mobilities constitute modern state sovereignty. To do so I examine Australian sovereignty and the related material and symbolic exclusion of asylum seekers arriving by boat. My analysis finds that mobilities, in terms of material movements and their representation, are essential to the construction of Australian sovereignty and the position of maritime asylum seekers as its outsider and limit identity. Through their mobile interception and management, and their representation as mobile β€˜others’, maritime asylum seekers are used to create sovereign borders between specific types of movement; between β€˜correct’ and β€˜incorrect’ (im)mobilities. I argue that this form of state sovereignty is disarticulated from space and follows populations who construct territories as being β€˜inside’ or β€˜outside’ of the Australian state as they move.

Nadler falsely stated, β€œIn fact, Stone has bragged how he resisted pressure to flip and testify against the president.”

 

Nadler is simply repeating a lie, perhaps having in mind that if the lie is repeated often and widely enough, it will be perceived as the truth. That kind of historically reckless approach is beneath the office of a member of Congress.

 

What Mr. Stone has said, consistently and repeatedly, is that he would not β€œbear false witness” against President Trump no matter how much pressure ethically bankrupt, politically agenda driven Mueller prosecutors would put on him to lie about his communications with candidate Trump in 2016. β€œFalse Witness!” That is a far cry from Nadler’s claim.

 

It is always wrong for a prosecutor to ask a witness to lie. Resisting such an effort is a great credit to any defendant in the clutches of the kind of prosecutors Mueller chose for his team.

 

It is not hard to imagine the delight the Mueller team of political partisans would have taken if it could have convinced Mr. Stone to concoct a story about the President to make up for their inability to find any evidence that supported their baseless Russian collusion theory.

 

Mueller and his team paralyzed the nation for years, cost taxpayers millions of dollars, and came up empty. They apparently thought Roger Stone, like some others they had in their clutches, would be willing to sell his soul to help himself; but he simply would not lie to hurt another, even if it meant ending his troubles with Mueller.

 

This false claim about Mr. Stone arises from two sources. First, in her political diatribe against the Trump administration, posing as Mr. Stone’s sentencing hearing, the judge who presided over Stone’s trialannounced to her constituency that Stone was prosecuted for covering up for Donald Trump. That was not the charge Stone faced, it does not reflect the evidence in the case, and it simply is not true. The Mueller team agenda might have been to make that claim; but it is a claim without one iota of evidence, after months of merciless searching through every corner of Roger Stone’s life. It was irresponsible and wrong for the judge to unfairly politicize our criminal justice system to serve her partisan purposes.

 

The second source for this false notion that Stone knows about some misconduct by the President and refused to come clean with it is an interview Stone gave to a journalist after the commutation. The New York Post reported earlier this week that Weaver β€œregistered as a Russian foreign agent for uranium conglomerate TENEX in a six-figure deal last year, filings with the Department of Justice show.” TENEX’s parent company is β€œRosatom, a Russian state-owned corporation that also owns Uranium One.” The significance? Uranium One β€œpaid Bill Clinton $500,000 in speaking fees and millions to the Clinton Foundation after then-President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton signed off on the controversial merger in 2010,” according to The Post.

 

Weaver claims to have β€œbacked out” of the deal with TENEX claiming it was β€œa mistake” and denied taking any money from them. How noble of Weaver who has an outstanding $313,655 federal tax lien against his home in Austin, Texas, despite calling Trump a β€œtax fraud” and β€œtax crook” on twitter. Weaver also owns a children’s clothing store which is undergoing a lawsuit filed by the shopping mall its held in. Lincoln co-founder Rick Wilson also has an outstanding federal lien against his home in Tallahassee, Florida for $389,420 after it was moved to foreclosure in 2016. Weaver has chastised Trump over not releasing his taxes and called him β€œBrokeahontas.” Those in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones; Mr. Weaver was taken to court by American Express for his unpaid $25,729 credit card bill the year before.

 

What is the real motivation behind these anti-Trump men? One GOP source told The Post β€œit’s very clear that this isn’t about Trump and Republicans. Today, Russia's Ministry of Communications announced that it has successfully tested a countrywide alternative to the internet, according to the BBC. How this network functions isn't clear, but the Ministry of Communications claims that users didn't notice any changes to their typical web use during the testing phase.

 

Countries like China, Iran and Saudi Arabia have already restricted what their citizens can access and how they can communicate with one another on the internet. Russia's project nicknamed Runet presumably follows suit and lets the government filter content through its own censors. Runet "would get ISPs and telcos to configure the internet within their borders as a gigantic intranet, just like a large corporation does," Professor Alan Woodward, a computer scientist at the University of Surrey, said to the BBC. This type of infrastructure would even make it difficult for VPNs to access blocked content. With all that said, it's difficult to tell just how successful this test was, or how far along Russia is in its goal to create its own Great Firewall.

A federal grand jury this week indicted the owner of a California company on charges that he and his company schemed to illegally export chemicals made in Rhode Island to a business with ties to the Chinese military.

 

Broad Tech System Inc., an Ontario, Cali.-based semiconductor equipment and technology company; its CEO and president Tao Jiang, and Bohr Winn-Shih, an equipment engineer, are accused of conspiring to purchase HiPR 6517 Photoresist and HPRD 441 Developer from a Rhode Island manufacturer and then provide false information to the U.S. government and shipping companies to illegally ship the chemicals to a company in China, in violation of the Export Control Reform Act, according to U.S. Attorney Aaron Weisman’s office.

 

Authorities say that the Chinese company is believed to be involved in the procurement of materials and technology for use by that country’s military. U.S. export regulations restrict the exportation of materials that could contribute significantly to the military potential of other nations or compromise U.S. foreign policy or national security. Photoresist and HPRD are essential in the chip manufacturing process.

 

The indictment charges Broad Tech, Jiang, 50, of Riverside, California, and Winn-Shih, 63, of Ontario, California, with conspiracy, violation of the Export Control Reform Act, and money laundering conspiracy.

Green onions conceal 614 pounds of meth at US-Mexico border, officers say

 

Meth hidden in boxes of green onions couldn’t foil X-rays and a drug dog at a U.S.-Mexico border crossing, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol officials say.

 

Officers stopped a big-rig driven by a 31-year-old Mexican man at the Otay Mesa crossing in San Diego, California, at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, a release says.

 

An X-ray of the cargo β€œidentified anomalies” within the boxes of produce, according to the release. A drug-detection dog also alerted officers to the shipment.

 

A search found 614 pounds of methamphetamine in 40 packages mixed in with the green onions, the Customs and Border Patrol release says.

 

Officers seized the big rig and meth, valued at $1.4 million, the release says.

 

The driver was turned over to the Department of Homeland Security for further investigation.
