Guys I'm seeing about 7 to 10 large green military aircraft over Fayetteville Arkansas landing at Drake field which is a small regional airfield. They're then taking off and circling the surrounding city and farm land at low altitude making circle patterns like they're updating maps. I checked global ads and nothing is showing up for these planes in the air over the city.

U.S. veterans try to rescue Afghan interpretersThe distress call came in over WhatsApp the same day that Kabul fell to the Taliban. “’Gunny,’” the voice from far away said, according to the recently retired Marine who received the call Aug. 15. “I need help. The Taliban are trying to hunt me.”

 

The caller was an Afghan who served as an interpreter with his unit a decade ago, the retired Marine, who held the rank of gunnery sergeant at the time, told NBC News.

 

“We became friends and stayed in touch after I left Afghanistan,” he said. NBC News is not identifying the retired Marine, who lives in California, to prevent the Taliban from connecting him to the interpreter. “He said he was already getting death threats and he was worried about his family.”

Immediately, he said, “I kicked into overdrive and started calling other members of my unit” and quickly discovered they had heard from three other terrified “terps” who were also in danger.

 

We formed a group and started asking ourselves, ‘Who do we know on the ground in Kabul who could help us? How do we get the four "terps" and their families to the gates” of the Hamid Karzai International Airport, he said.

Largest US Food Distributor Having Trouble Keeping Shelves Stocked; Price Shock Imminent

 

One of the defining features of the early phases of the covid pandemic, when public fear was rampant and when few wanted to take chances that supply chains would remain viable, is that for a brief period US supermarkets resembled those of the USSR circa the late 1980s: many items were in short supply, and some - notably toilet paper, clorox, and perishables such as milk - were out of stock for weeks.

 

Fast forward to today when fears about the Delta strain are being fanned by the liberal media, the US may be facing a similar shortage of key products… only this time for a very different reason: not a surge in demand, but rather a drop in supply.

 

According to Bloomberg, some of the largest U.S. food distributors are "reporting difficulties in fulfilling orders as a lack of workers weighs on the supply chain." Take distribution giant Sysco, North America’s largest wholesale food distributor, which is turning away customers in some areas where demand is exceeding capacity.

 

Worse, food inflation is about to soar: the company said prices for key goods such as chicken, pork and paper products for takeout packaging are climbing amid tight supplies. In particular, production has slowed for high-demand, labor-intensive cuts like bacon, ribs, wings and tenders, Sysco said. And if intermediate and final wholesale prices are "rising", just wait until they emerge on the consumer side.

 

The culprit for the coming price shock? Biden's catastrophic stimmies and universal basic income which has unleashed havoc on the US job market and led to historic labor shortages:

There's a School Bus Driver Shortage in the U.S. — and 1 District Is Offering $4,000 to Sign On

Some districts are asking parents to drive their children to school, while others are telling parents that their kids will have to walk to and from school

 

Parents across the United States are facing additional stress as their children prepare to return to school amid an ongoing school bus driver shortage.

 

School districts in a number of states, including Florida, Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland, have all been affected by the shortage of bus drivers, according to CBS News.

 

Many of the drivers have quit due to concerns related to COVID-19. Twenty drivers with Lee County Schools in Florida quit because they were worried students would not be wearing masks, Fox affiliate WFTX reported.

 

Some schools, like Chesterfield County Public Schools in Virginia, have attempted to mend the situation by calling on parents to assist with the shortage.

 

"We have over 690 buses in our fleet… and we're short about 100 drivers. We need your help," Chesterfield Superintendent Dr. Merv Daugherty said in a video posted on Facebook. "We are asking you to please drive your child to school."

 

EastSide Charter School in Delaware announced on their website that they were also facing a bus driver shortage and would be offering parents $700 per child to drive their own kids to and from school.

Judge Drops Bombshell, Declares Mistrial for Fraudster Avenatti

 

A federal judge in California has granted disgraced lawyer Michael Avenatti a mistrial in a case accusing him of siphoning millions from his own clients.

 

On Tuesday, Judge James V. Selna ruled that federal prosecutors in Santa Ana failed to turn over evidence to Avenatti before his wire fraud trial—including data from a law firm bookkeeping software program called Tabs, or Tax and Bookkeeping Solutions.

 

Selna set a new trial date for Oct. 12, along with a pretrial conference for Sept. 2, according to Meghann Cuniff, a local reporter live-tweeting Avenatti’s second of four criminal trials.

 

Outside the courthouse, Avenatti told a gaggle of reporters: “Today is a great day for the rule of law in the United States of America.”

 

Avenatti is accused of embezzling settlement funds from five clients, including Geoffrey Johnson, a paraplegic man who’d suffered an injury in a Los Angeles County jail, as well as beauty vlogger Michelle Phan and her associate Long Tran.

 

The mistrial breaks the government’s momentum in its criminal cases against Avenatti, who skyrocketed to fame as attorney to porn actress Stormy Daniels, who was fighting former President Donald Trump in 2018 over a hush money agreement.

 

On July 8, Avenatti was sentenced to two-and-a-half years behind bars after a New York federal jury convicted him of hatching a plot to extort millions from Nike.

 

Weeks later, the first leg of his California trial began. “This case is about math,” Avenatti told jurors during opening statements. “This case is about how you calculate what a client is due after their settlement is received.”

 

This math-centered defense gave him the boost he needed for a new trial.

 

According to Avenatti’s Aug. 15 motion for a mistrial, his former office manager Judy Regnier testified that his former firm Eagan Avenatti used two different programs—QuickBooks and Tabs—to calculate how much money a client is owed.

 

The filing states that before trial, Avenatti requested access to the Tabs data, which the government never produced. Avenatti also claims that prosecutors provided one version of QuickBooks data “although it is unclear where it came from or whether it was even the most-recent version kept by the law firm.”

 

Avenatti, who represented himself at trial, requested the court dismiss the indictment or declare a mistrial. “The government suppressed this material information and failed to produce it for years despite its obvious importance and their clear obligation to do so,” Avenatti’s motion states. “As of this filing, their failures continue.”

 

In response, prosecutors claimed that Avenatti “now claims the Tabs data is critical for his defense” but “never once in numerous filings over two years mentioned Tabs data even after the government specifically identified it in a prior filing.” Instead, they claim, Avenatti had only sought “unfettered access” to his law firm’s servers.

 

Avenatti’s “motion makes clear, however, that the first time [Avenatti] ever asked specifically for Tabs data was on August 12, 2021,” prosecutors added.

 

On Aug. 19, Avenatti replied to the government’s opposition, saying that his defense has suffered “without access to these exculpatory materials.”

 

“Without knowing the precise calculations contained in both the Tabs and the QuickBooks data, it is impossible to know the costs, fees, expenses and other hourly work performed in connection with each of the alleged victims,” Avenatti wrote in the filing.

 

The next day, Selna ordered the Department of Justice’s privilege review team to allow Avenatti to search for financial data on the Eagan Avenatti servers.

 

On Monday, the defense provided Selna with a preliminary report on the Tabs data and alleged some of it was missing. “There are additional files that have yet to be produced,” Avenatti stated in a court filing. “It is presently unclear as to when the remaining Tabs data will be provided to the defendant.”

 

Avenatti claimed the Tabs data revealed “numerous payments made for the benefit of at least two of the clients mentioned in the indictment shortly after settlements were received and yet the government nor its expert ever accounted for these payments.”

 

At a hearing on Tuesday, Selna pointed to Regnier’s 2019 interviews which reference Tabs and said the feds were “fully on notice about the significance” of the data.

 

Selna told the courtroom that he found no intentional misconduct on the part of prosecutors or the privilege review team in withholding materials from Avenatti but that there were “shortcomings” in the discovery review process.

 

“I find that prejudice occurred here in a number of ways,” Selna concluded

Officials said Rep. Seth Moulton, D-Mass., and Rep. Peter Meijer, R-Mich., flew in on a charter aircraft and were on the ground at the Kabul airport for several hours. Officials said the two men were flying out of Kabul on another charter aircraft, prompting officials to complain that they were taking seats that could have gone to other Americans or Afghans fleeing the country.

 

Two officials familiar with the flight said that State Department, Defense Department and White House officials were furious about the incident because it was done without coordination with diplomats or military commanders directing the evacuation.

China Ready to Offer ‘Genuine’ Aid to Afghanistan, Cautions Nations to Lead, Not Pressure Taliban

 

The World Bank has predicted a 20% decline in international aid to Afghanistan in the wake of the Taliban’s seizure of power, which could still grow further, depending on the new government’s course. Already inadequate to meet the country’s needs, neighboring China could fill that gap and then some, giving Beijing leverage in Kabul.

Numerous articles and think pieces have been written about “$1 trillion in minerals” up for the taking and how Beijing is “about to tuck Afghanistan under Its Belt and Road.” However, as one official from a Chinese state-owned enterprise told the Global Times, their business activities "will be in line with Chinese national strategy," which is interested in stability first.

 

Many of them have, however, correctly estimated that Beijing will be hesitant to sink money into the Central Asian country, with which it shares a 44-mile-long border, at least until the Taliban provides some concrete results on its promises, which include a pledge to end support for the East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM) terrorist group. The Islamist terrorist group, which is connected to al-Qaeda and has sought refuge in Afghanistan in the past, is a Xinjiang separatist group that wants to separate China’s westernmost province from the country - a cause given Western blessings in recent years, as the US reorients to strategically compete with Beijing.

I was still unsure about not getting the vaccine because I didn’t know of anyone who had severe side effects. I just found out a few days ago that a family friend developed chest pains after the 2nd shot, not sure which vax she got. I believe she is mid to late 40s.
