Calls for asymptomatic COVID-19 testing to be introduced in schools

 

Rο»Ώegular asymptomatic COVID-19 testing could be re-introduced in schools for teachers and students under a controversial proposal by an education union.

 

The Australian Educationο»Ώ Union (AEU) has proposed introducing testing again as it claims the government's mitigation measures in public schools are not "adequate" and the rate of infection will continue rising if there isn't an intervention.

 

"The AEU posits that the Committee should recommend that a regular asymptomatic testing program be reinstated in all educational settings," the union said in a submission to the parliamentary inquiry into long COVID-19.

 

"And that mandated isolation from the school or other educational setting is reintroduced for students or school staff who are infected with COVID.

 

"Current Government approaches to limiting COVID infection, repeat infection and long COVID demonstrates a lack of concern for the health and wellbeing of students, teachers and broader school communities."

 

The union claims the lack of appropriate preventative measures could lead to higher cases of long COVID-19 as many "infections in schools are going unrecorded".

 

"ο»ΏThe risk of repeated COVID infections, and thus the risk of developing long COVID as a result of asymptomatic spread among students in a school setting is high," the submission said.

 

The union wants testing reinstated through the government providing rapid antigen tests to schools and families like there was earlier in the pandemic.ο»Ώ

 

But ο»Ώformer education minister Stuart Robert said the proposal is "nuts" and "ridiculous".

"It is a complete brain fade by the education union," he said.

 

"COVID is now endemic which means we treat it like any other endemic disease, that is the medical advice.

"Do we do random testing for chickenpox, measles, mumps, rubella? Do we do it for the flu and find another disease that comes along and shove things up young kids' noses because they have no choice?

 

"Bless the education union but now it is time for them to have a Christmas break."ο»Ώ

Rapid antigen testing was introduced in schools in 2021 during the height of the Omicron wave but has been phased out.

COVID-19 cases have continued to climb in some states like Queensland but have stabilised in others like New South Wales, the latest surveillance data shows.ο»Ώ

Miz Cracker, a contestant on two seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race, has put out a clarion call to β€œkick down traditional family values” this Christmas season.

 

Cracker, the stage name of drag queen performer Maxwell Eiias Heller, is starring in Who’s Holiday!, a new show that turns the Dr. Seuss character Cindy Lou Who into a β€œhard-drinking, pill-popping, very experienced woman” who hates family Christmas gatherings.

 

The sentiment in the anti-Christmas stage show β€” being presented in London, U.K., this December and January β€” mirrors how the radical drag queen feels.

 

β€œTo say that Christmas is about traditional values or values of any kind anymore is pretty ridiculous,” Heller told PinkNews. β€œChrist is nowhere featured in this. In America, if you look at the way people knock down the doors of shopping centers, I think you can tell that we have separated Christmas from Christ.”

 

Aside from that bit of social commentary, Miz Cracker is not above knocking Christ out of Christmas himself, either, especially when it comes to holiday gatherings. The performer feels that Christmas gatherings should be a time to confront people over the LGBTQ agenda.

'Teacher of the year' accused of sex with 14-year-old former student

 

A Georgia teacher is under investigation over allegations that he had sex with a 14-year-old former student. Before the accusations of child sex abuse, the middle school educator had been awarded this year's "teacher of the year" award.

 

On Thursday, police arrested Charles B. Jackson – a 54-year-old teacher at the Ballard-Hudson Middle School in Macon, Georgia. Jackson was charged with two counts of statutory rape and one count of aggravated child molestation, according to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.

 

Jackson was transported to the Bibb County jail, where he is being held without bond. A magistrate judge ordered him to not have any contact with the alleged victim and the family of the victim, Fox 5 Atlanta reported.

 

Deputies with the Bibb County Sheriff's Office Crimes Against Children subdivision opened an investigation into Jackson after reports that the middle school teacher was engaging in an "inappropriate relationship" with a former student. There were allegations that Jackson had sex with a 14-year-old ex-student.

 

Jackson was a teacher and a baseball coach at the Ballard-Hudson Middle School – where he was named the "teacher of the year."

 

On Thursday, the Bibb County school district announced that it had fired Jackson. School officials informed parents that it is cooperating with the investigation, and for anyone to report any concerns regarding their own children.

 

The investigation is still ongoing. Law enforcement is asking anyone with information on the potential sex crime case to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500, or call the Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68-CRIME.

I got jokes, I made the flying Dorito -but I have also seen the flying triangle, up close. Take it with a grain of whatever you like, but Anon spent about 15 years slowly dying from a mystery ailment, and I learned that being near-dead kind of changes ones position in consciousness.

 

It's almost like not being in the body, I could be doing some normal thing, like reaching for a door knob and look at my hand and wonder if this was really happening, is this something I am doing. It was hard not to become an absolute weirdo during that time, and I'm very grateful to have finally stumbled onto the cure.

 

I would also see things in the sky, especially the night sky. Sometimes it was like I was urged to go look, but I could step out my back door almost any time and see unusual lights and things. In the afternoons, I could always find the silver orbs, generally 3, commonly zipping around in the contrails behind commercial planes. After a bit, some would disappear, and usually just one of them would stop, and slowly rise in the sky to resemble a daytime star. My wife actually witnessed this phenomenon with me a few times while we were in our car. I also once saw an orb flying off the tail wing of a C-130, a just a few hundred feet over my head.

 

One night, I ran to the back step of our house to see the triangle, not far above. It was a dark night and it came from the south, and as it reached the point of being directly above me, I would estimate just a few hundred feet above, I managed to yell enough to get my wife to join me.

 

It was probably 100 feet across each point, and moved over me like it was sliding across a tabletop. It was very easy to see against the night sky, as though I could see through it, like when someone does the fake greenscreen invisibility cloak on YouTube.

 

It was just crossing over when my wife made it out, and I said do you see it?

 

She answered "No"

 

As it continued over the top of the house, I could clearly see bright red lights across the back, like the tail lights on a truck, and I asked her again:

 

You don't see those red lights?

 

"No."

 

Slowly sliding into being dead, I didn't really notice the changes in myself so much, but in getting well rather quickly, becoming normal again was very noticeable. I feel like I have lost some minor super powers.

 

Being dead must be a real live trip.

Censor or Else: Democratic Members Warn Facebook Not to β€œBackslide” on Censorship

 

With the restoration of free speech protections on Twitter, panic has grown on the left that its control over social media could come to an end. Now, some of the greatest advocates of censorship in Congress are specifically warning Facebook not to follow Twitter in restoring free speech to its platform.

 

In a chilling letter from Reps. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), AndrΓ© Carson (D-Ind.), Kathy Castor (D-Fla.) and Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), Facebook was given a not-so-subtle threat that reducing its infamous censorship system will invite congressional action. The letter to Meta’s president of global affairs, Nick Clegg, is written on congressional stationery β€œas part of our ongoing oversight efforts.”

 

With House Republicans pledging to investigate social media censorship when they take control in January, these four Democratic members are trying to force Facebook to β€œrecommit” to censoring opposing views and to make election censorship policies permanent. Otherwise, they suggest, they may be forced to exercise oversight into any move by Facebook to β€œalter or rollback certain misinformation policies.”

 

In addition to demanding that Facebook preserve its bans on figures like former president Donald Trump, they want Facebook to expand its censorship overall because β€œunlike other major social media platforms, Meta’s policies do not prohibit posts that make unsubstantiated claims about voter fraud.”

 

Clegg is given Schiff’s telephone number to discuss Facebook’s compliance β€” an ironic contact point for a letter on censoring β€œdisinformation.” After all, Schiff was one of the members of Congress who, before the 2020 presidential election, pushed the false claim that the Hunter Biden laptop was Russian disinformation, and he has been criticized for pushing false narratives on Trump-Russia collusion in the 2016 election. (Schiff has previously pressured social media companies to expand the censorship of opposing views).

 

The letter to Clegg is reminiscent of another letter sent by several congressional Democrats to cable-TV carriers last year, demanding to know why they continue to carry Fox News. (For full disclosure, I appear as a legal analyst on Fox News.) As I later discussed in congressional testimony, it was an open effort by those Democrats to censor opposing views by proxy or by surrogate.

 

This is not the first time that some members of Congress have not-so-subtly warned social media companies to expand the censorship of political and scientific views which they consider to be wrong.

 

In a November 2020 Senate hearing, then-Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey apologized for censoring the Hunter Biden laptop story. But Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., warned that he and his Senate colleagues would not tolerate any β€œbacksliding or retrenching” by β€œfailing to take action against dangerous disinformation.”

 

Others, like Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), have called on social media companies to use enlightened algorithms to β€œprotect” people from their own β€œbad” choices. After all, as President Joe Biden asked, without censorship and wise editors, β€œHow do people know the truth?”

 

Now, Democrats fear Facebook and other social media companies might β€œbackslide” into free speech as Facebook, among others, is faced with declining revenues and ordering layoffs. Tellingly, these congressional Democrats specifically want assurances that those layoffs will not reduce the staff dedicated to censoring social media.

 

It is not hard to see the cause for alarm. This hold-the-line warning is meant to stop a cascading failure in the once insurmountable wall of social-media censorship. If Facebook were to restore free-speech protections, the control over social media could evaporate.

 

Despite an effort by the left to boycott Twitter and cut off advertising revenues, users are signing up in record numbers, according to Twitter owner Elon Musk, and a recent poll shows a majority of Americans β€œsupport Elon Musk’s ongoing efforts to change Twitter to a more free and transparent platform.”

 

The pressure on Facebook is ironic, given the company’s previous effort to get the public to accept β€” even welcome β€” censorship. The company ran a creepy ad campaign about how young people should accept censorship (or β€œcontent modification,” in today’s Orwellian parlance) as part of their evolution with technology. It did not work; most people are not eager to buy into censorship. Instead, many of them apparently are buying into Twitter.

 

The public response has led censorship advocates to look abroad for allies. Figures like Hillary Clinton have called upon European countries to force the censorship of American citizens.

Supercar Maker McLaren Teams Up With Lockheed Martin Skunk Works

 

Luxury supercar and hypercar maker McLaren Automotive has teamed up with US defense contractor Lockheed Martin Skunk Works to incorporate the world of aviation into cutting-edge automotive supercar design.

 

Even though McLaren is facing financial pressures due to slumping sales and supply chain snarls, and a recent recapitalization of the business via the auto group's majority shareholder, Bahrain's sovereign wealth fund Mumtalakat for $279 million, the British supercar maker's technology collaboration with Skunk Works allows for "futuristic design methods" to push these vehicles to even higher speeds.

 

McLaren said its interest is in Skunk Works' design software that "sets parameters for high-speed systems more accurately and swiftly than traditional design methods." If Skunk Works can build stealth fighter jets, McLaren engineers can learn more about aerodynamics from the partnership.

 

"McLaren is a pioneering company that has always pushed boundaries and sought out new innovative and disruptive solutions to making the ultimate supercars. Working alongside an iconic company such as Lockheed Martin Skunk Works, renowned for their visionary focus on the future, is a natural fit. WASHINGTON (AP) β€” The House committee investigating the Capitol riot will make its final public presentation Monday about the unprecedented effort by Donald Trump to overturn the results of the presidential election he lost in 2020. The committee has called it an β€œattempted coup” that warrants criminal prosecution from the Justice Department.

 

That is expected to be the committee’s closing argument as it wraps up a year-and-a-half-long inquiry and prepares to release a final report detailing its findings about the insurrection in the nation’s capital on Jan. 6, 2021, as Congress was certifying Joe Biden’s presidential victory. The committee of seven Democrats and two Republicans is set to dissolve at the end of the year.

 

Monday’s meeting will be the committee’s 11th public session since forming in July 2021. One of the first hearings, on June 9, was viewed by more than 20 million people.

After conducting thousands of interviews β€” ranging from Trump Cabinet secretaries to members of his own family β€” and obtaining tens of thousands of documents, congressional investigators say they have created the most comprehensive look at the worst attack on the Capitol in two centuries.

 

But the 16-month investigation has also provided a road map of sorts for criminal investigations, influencing the probes of Trump and Jan. 6 that are progressing at the local, state and federal level.

 

There is some question whether the Justice Department will act with Trump announced as a 2024 presidential candidate. Schiff expressed worry on Sunday that federal prosecutors may be slow to move on charges as long as Trump is politically relevant. β€œI think he should face the same remedy, force of law, that anyone else would,” Schiff said.

 

Still, Monday’s session remains the last word for the committee as its temporary, or β€œselect,” committee status expires at the end of the current Congress.

 

Once Republicans take the majority next year, they are not expected to renew the committee, instead launching a slew of investigations that will focus on the Biden administration and the president’s family.

Top Space Force official Andrew Cox kept job after probe into sex toys in office, wearing β€˜mankini’ at holiday party: report

 

A top Space Force official is reportedly still on the job after allegedly keeping sex toys in his office and wearing a mankini – over his clothes – at an office holiday party.

 

Andrew Cox, who heads the Space Warfighting Analysis Center, got a letter of reprimand and lost bonus pay, as well as a shot at a federal award, after an internal probe into numerous complaints β€” including one worker’s claim that when Cox isn’t focused on work, β€œ[he] is … acting like a 13-year-old boy,” the Air Force Times reported.

 

The Air Force inspector general’s office launched an investigation in late 2020 that lasted six months and backed up multiple allegations of unprofessional and off-putting antics, according to the outlet.

 

The Air Force Times said it got a redacted copy of the IG report Wednesday.

 

According to the report, during a 2018 office holiday party, Cox wore a green mankini β€” a skimpy bathing suit popularized by the 2006 movie β€œBorat” β€” over his clothes in front of colleagues and their families.

 

β€œIt was chartreuse green, and he brought it out into the main area,” one person said of the outfit when it was allegedly worn in another instance, according to the Air Force Times. β€œHe [told us he] put it on in front of his wife and bent over and said, β€˜Honey, how do you like this.’”

 

In 2017, when Cox got a gag gift of an aluminum case β€” with handcuffs, Vaseline, oils, sex toys and lockable β€œhot pants” inside β€” it stayed in his office, the Air Force Times reported.

 

β€œThe silver case came up in the conversation, which prompted Mr. Cox to go next door to his office and return with the silver case, placing it open on the table,” the IG report states about a meeting that included Cox, according to the Air Force Times.

 

Cox also kept a framed pair of glittery silver pants in his office that he got in 2013, around the time he became director of the Pentagon’s Space Security and Defense Program, the outlet reported.

 

He hung up the framed pants behind his office door with a note: β€œBreak here in the event of an emergency,” the publication reported.

 

β€œMr. Cox remains the director of the Space Warfighting Analysis Center,” Air Force spokesperson Ann Stefanek told the Air Force Times on Friday. β€œThe matter was addressed through established civilian personnel processes.”

 

Originally a 30-day suspension was proposed, but instead Cox was denied bonus pay of more than $27,000 and lost the chance to win a federal award that would’ve clinched about $40,000, the outlet reported.

 

Cox reportedly appealed the probe’s findings and the Air Force pulled back three of the six misconduct allegations, thought it’s unclear which ones.

 

Still, his alleged behavior was enough for one female contractor who worked for the Space Warfighting Analysis Center to quit in October 2020 because she felt β€œostracized and uncomfortable” the report states.

 

Cox also allegedly made inappropriate comments at the office where he talked about male genital piercings and oral sex in public, the outlet reported, citing the IG report.

 

He also reportedly used β€œthat’s what she said” jokes that sexualized comments meant to be mundane.

 

β€œHe has a leadership style where he likes to bring everybody in, kind of take the problem apart … and have lots of people in the room,” one complainant reportedly said. β€œWhen he’s not talking business, [he] is … acting like a 13-year-old boy.”

 

He reportedly became the leader of the Space Force’s Warfighting Analysis Center in April 2021.

Look for one of these coming Thursday (1222) in the billion $ range good until the following week where another one will be done on 1229 also in the billion dollar range.

Of Note: the interest rate change of 4.09% from 3.33% and note the difference from the test amounts in Sept through a 2 week period..0914 was at 2.58% and 0928 was at 3.34%. The "extra" $80T of interest rate and FOREX disclosed via the Bank of International Settlements report is only the tip of the iceberg (this is what they've "admitted to" as the real amount of the entire derivatives shit pile is closer to $3Q and likely larger and not the oft-quoted $2Q used in most articles of most MSM and even Alt-Media analysis of it-the bottom line is that no one knows for sure.

 

Rest assured the rate raises will be taken off becasue of the notional amounts of these FOREX and interest rate sensitive derivatives and has nothing to do with fake inflation #s (CPI) and December's inflation #s will not be able to benefit from the SPR releases-as you've already seen retail gas prices rise since the start of Nov-plus the owner's equivalent rent portion of CPI is 5 months in arears so that won't be showing up (lower) until Feb or march at the earliest-but was used as a positive (for them) as it rose throughout the last two years but as mentioned is backward looking by 5 entire months.

The North’s official Korean Central News Agency also released black-and-white photos showing a space view of the South Korean capital and Incheon, a city just west of Seoul, in an apparent attempt to show the North is pushing to monitor its rival with its advancing technologies.
