I've been watching planes since long before Q… This is the a TON of military traffic I would say its more than I've ever seen before. Especially in the case of C-40s, C-17s, P-8s, and VIP flights. Meme'ing is a bit like dancing: everyone thinks they can do it pretty well, but some are absolutely horrible at it and nobody ever bothers to tell them out of kindness. . .

Quantity matters, but I think quality matters more. Meaning, I think it's important we make optimal usage of everyones posting and info-spreading efforts by assuring we're using the most effective memes possible.

Is there any chance we could use the strawpoll.me site or some similar solution to vote on the memes from each thread, or something similar? Any means of determining as a collective which are good and which aren't so good?

I'm seeing some that are outright counterproductive, is why I say this.. and it pains me thinking people may be spreading these instead of using their time and effort on the brilliantly effective ones that'll likely go viral'ish.

1. I'm very far to the right, personally, but I never allow my memes to be partisan, its the surest way to kill the message (it ends up looking purely political, devoid of larger substance). Keep in mind we R's have McCain, Flake, Graham, etc. . lets try to keep this framed as people v swamp?

It's ok to be just abstract or mysterious enough to cause them to dig, as long as you give them some term/concept to dig into… but try to avoid content like just pulling Q's words verbatim: this is only preaching to the choir, to others (those we're trying to reach) it'll just be greek, confusing, impotent.

1. Your goal should be not to convince them of X or Y, but to send them down a path to convince themselves. . launch them down a research path, and you'll be 100x more effective than if you're just handing them a fact. It's why Q speaks in questions that we have to answer, and its a brilliant tactic. . embrace it.

1. Don't be hostile or hateful. We all feel it from time to time, and it may be 100% justified. . but its counter productive to our goal here. These memes are ignored just as quickly as the overtly political.

1. Try to pull back to the forest, as opposed to the trees, and tackle the broader perspective. Operation mockingbird, for example, as opposed to a single biased news piece… the web of corruption connected to the CF, as opposed to attacking Hillary herself… aim high, focus on the root, not the branches.

1. Don't fully trust your meme until someone else has given it their vote of approval

1. Be a witty bastard!

There's certainly more, and perhaps I'll try to get together a best-practices guide and post it if theres any interest. . but I wanted to get this out there: I'm seeing some brilliant work, but also a flood of sub-par stuff, and its so very important we stay on top of our game right now.

Maxine Waters Charged with Three Ethics Violations

The House ethics committee today released three charges of ethical wrongdoing against Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters of California.

The charges relate to whether Waters gave inappropriate assistance to a bank to which she had personal connections in getting federal bailout money.

The committee says Waters organized a meeting in 2008 between Treasury officials and executives from OneUnited Bank, where her husband was once a board member and had large investments. The bank received $12 million from the federal government's Troubled Asset Relief Program.

The first charge against Waters states she violated a House rule that members must "behave at all times in a manner that shall reflect creditably on the House." Waters should have instructed her chief of staff to stop assisting OneUnited once it became clear she should not be involved in helping the bank, but she failed to do so, the charges state.

Her staff's "continued involvement in assisting OneUnited created an appearance that [Waters] was taking official action for [Waters'] personal benefit, which did not reflect creditably on the House," the charges state.

Waters was also charged with violating the "spirit" of the House rule that prohibits a member from receiving compensation for exerting improper influence from her position in Congress. Waters' husband's investments in OneUnited constituted compensation, according to the charges.

The congresswoman was also charged with violating the Code of Ethics for Government Service.

Waters, who serves on the House Financial Services Committee, has defended her request for the meeting between Treasury officials and OneUnited executives as part of her efforts to advocate on behalf of minority-owned businesses. She maintains she is innocent of any wrongdoing and would rather face a public trial before the ethics committee this fall than admit to any of the charges against her.

The panel said Waters, who sits on the Financial Services Committee, broke a House rule requiring members to behave in a way that reflects “creditably” on the chamber. The committee said that by trying to assist OneUnited, she stood to benefit directly, because her husband owned a sizable amount of stock that would have been “worthless” if the bank failed.

The committee also accused Waters of violating the “spirit” of a House rule prohibiting lawmakers from using their positions for financial gain, as well as a government ethics statute banning the dispensing of “special favors.”
