Already, it appears the U.S. could end up dependent on unfriendly nations for materials for all those batteries. Then there's the fact that the nation's grid simply can't support all that recharging โ€“ California already has been sending out advisories for owners not to charge. And then there's the limited range, extended recharging times, both worsened by bad weather.

 

But now a report in the Washington Times explains that those batteries are heavy, and EVs can weight up to 50% more than internal combustion motor vehicles.

 

And that weight damages roads, bridges and parking garages, with those vehicles easily plowing through safety guardrails while posing a higher danger to other drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists traveling the same routes.

 

"The problems associated with EVs are poised to grow as more consumers purchase the cars under the Biden administrationโ€™s plan to eliminate gas-powered vehicles and the tailpipe emissions that come with them," the report explained.

 

It explained engineers writing recently for Structure Magazine suggested construction companies, and building codes, need to make accommodation for the higher weight.

 

Parking garages, they said, should be redesigned to hold more weight.

 

That's because some hold hundreds of vehicles, and just one EV. A Ford truck, weighs in at 8,240 pounds, nearly a ton more than the gas-powered version of the same pickup.

 

"Significantly increasing passenger vehicle weights combined with recently reduced structural design requirements will result in reduced factors of safety and increased maintenance and repair costs for parking structures," the engineers wrote. "There are many cases of parking structure failures, and the growing demand for EVs will only increase the probability of failure."

 

Then there are those guardrails, installed to minimize damage when traffic goes awry.

 

They are installed between lanes for traffic moving opposite directions, between lanes and edge drop-offs and more.

 

That concern comes out of a procedure at a test facility in Nebraska, where examiners took a 3.6-ton Rivian R1 and sent it into a metal guardrail at 62 mph, first headon, then at an angle.

 

Both times it "ripped through" the guardrail and continued into what would have been lanes for oncoming traffic, the report revealed.

 

The conclusion was simple: making vehicles much heavier means "a lot more force" is required to redirect the vehicle.

 

University of Nebraska professor Cody Stolle, told the Times, "We found these guardrail systems donโ€™t have great compatibility with these [electric] vehicles yet."

 

The heavier vehicles also could cause more damage to other vehicles in collisions.

 

The report said an insurance institute expert confirmed the weight provides more protection to those inside the EV, but at the expense of anyone in another vehicle involved in an accident.

 

Joe Biden has insisted over and over that consumers should be buying the much more expensive and often less reliable electric cars the government programs subsidize.

The SXSW-bound indie, which stars Natalie Morales, Ed Harris, Morgan Freeman and Sonequa Martin-Green, marks Kelceโ€™s first foray into movies, with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end serving as an executive producer. The investors in the low-budget dark comedy, which include Kelce, are the first to take advantage of 2022โ€™s Inflation Reduction Act to finance a film. Russian President Vladimir Putinโ€™s seminal interview with Tucker Carlson delivered the truth about the Russian โ€œspecial security operationโ€ in Ukraine and how the US is engaged in a proxy war against Russia. On Monday, the Department of Justice issued a press release pertaining to money laundering operations used to send US UAV and missile components prohibited from export by Russian sanctions, to Russia.

Once in Russia, the US UAV and missile parts found their way on to the battlefield in Russian equipment.

Relevant locations within the scheme include the US; Brooklyn, NY; Canada, Hong Kong, Russia and Ukraine.

As alleged in the indictment and other court filings, the defendant laundered money as part of a sophisticated export control and sanctions evasion scheme involving SH Brothers Inc. (SH Brothers) and SN Electronics, Inc. (SN Electronics), two companies registered in Brooklyn, New York. Using the SH Brothers and SN Electronics corporate entities, the defendant and her co-conspirators unlawfully sourced, purchased and shipped millions of dollars in dual-use electronics from U.S. manufacturers to end users, including sanctioned entities, in Russia. The electronic components and integrated circuits shipped were later found in seized Russian weapons platforms and signals intelligence equipment in Ukraine, including in UAVs and guided missiles. During the period charged in the indictment, SH Brothers made hundreds of shipments valued at over $7 million to Russia.

Puzyreva and her husband, co-defendant Nikolay Goltsev, traveled on multiple occasions from Canada to meet with their co-defendant Salimdzhon Nasriddinov in Brooklyn. During such trips, Puzyreva utilized numerous bank accounts to make financial transactions in furtherance of the scheme. For example, Puzyreva is the signatory on two New York accounts, including one that lists Nasriddinovโ€™s home address in Brooklyn (also the registered address of SH Brothers) as the address of record. Records for these accounts reflect large, structured cash deposits in Brooklyn and Manhattan that correspond with trips that Puzyreva and Goltsev made to New York. These deposits were then transferred to accounts held and used by Puzyreva and Goltsev in Canada.

The scheme involved millions of dollars in transactions and was lucrative for the defendants. For example, in a text message exchange on or about Jan. 13, 2023, Goltsev complained to Puzyreva that a co-conspirator โ€œasked me to make 80 accounts . . . I am making accounts for 3 mln [i.e., million]. Fingers hurting already from the laptop.โ€ Puzyreva responded, โ€œLot of money? We will get rich.โ€ Later, on or about Jan. 20, 2023, Goltsev messaged Puzyreva, โ€œDasha (a co-conspirator) paid. 700k.โ€ Notably, financial records revealed wire transfers totaling approximately $700,000 into an SH Brothers account in or around January 2023 from a Hong Kong-based entity as part of an order for a sanctioned Russian entity.

In new developments, the escalation to a multiple-front World War III [RSA/UKR, CHN/TWN/SoCHNSea, ME/IRN/IRQ/SYR] continues according to Joe Bidenโ€™s marching orders:

1-In response to Putinโ€™s overtures in the Carlson interview indicating his desire to end the Ukraine matter with fidelity, the Biden Administration has rejected Putinโ€™s offer for negotiations.

This weekend, Senate Democrats (joined by a few Republicans, including most Republican leadership) forced through a โ€œsecurity supplementalโ€ that spends close to $100 billion, most of it on Ukraine. It was the culmination of months of secretive negotiations on border security. Those negotiations produced a border security product unacceptable to most Republicans, so then Republicans voted it down, and then an hour later we were debating a security supplemental with border security stripped out.

The deal, as envisioned by conservatives, was apparently never on the table. According to both Democratic colleagues and some Republicans, this is because Republican leadershipโ€”specifically Mitch McConnellโ€”refused to push the Democrats on this issue. Other Republicans have argued instead that even if Mitch McConnell empowered Lankford to make this demand, Democrats would have never agreed.

Obviously, this latter view reflects more favorably on Mitch McConnell, but only by a little, because it suggests a massive asymmetry in negotiating leverage. If Democrats are desperate for Ukraine aid, and Republicansโ€”at least the negotiating Republicansโ€”are also desperate for Ukraine aid, border security would inevitably land on the chopping block.

Did Trump oppose a deal? He certainly opposed the deal that was on the table. It would have done little to secure the border in the future, would have been a massive political gift to the Democrats, and would constrain Trumpโ€™s border enforcement if he was ever elected president. This last point deserves extra emphasis: these bipartisan deals always seem to contain provisions that would put the next president, whoever that is, in a box.

Given its substance, it is hardly surprising that he opposed the deal, but most Republicans opposed the deal well before he weighed inโ€”publicly or privately. In fact, the only conversation I had with Donald Trump about the border deal was a day after the text came out, well after I had opposed the billโ€™s headline provisions. โ€œWhy do you guys want to give these people such a gift? Itโ€™s stupid.โ€ It was an accurate point, but it didnโ€™t change anyoneโ€™s mind because most of us already agreed with the former president.

So the deal fell apart, and the way it fell apart was the height of political malpractice. The textโ€”370 pages of itโ€”dropped late Sunday, February 4. We had a Republican conference meeting on Monday, well before anyone had time to digest major provisions. McConnell left the meeting and praised the bill but criticized the changing political dynamics. He blamed Donald Trump. He blamed the House of Representatives.

Itโ€™s hard to imagine a more damaging political message: Hey everyone, weโ€™ve got great bipartisan policy, but weโ€™re going to kill it because the knuckle draggers donโ€™t like it. It was a gift to Democrats and everyone knew it. Senate candidates across the country, many of whom are allies of Mitch McConnell, called me to complain bitterly of the predicament created by leadership in Washington.

Normally, spending bills go through months of review, committee markups, and hours of debate. The text of the Ukraine supplemental was distributed to Hill staff on Wednesday, February 7, and the first procedural vote was taken less than a day later. On February 5, many senators had emphasized the importance of doing something on the border before action was taken on Ukraine. Two days later, at least some of them had decided that fighting for border security for an hour had checked the box, and they were ready to move on to their real priority: funding for Ukraine. The bill will pass, albeit by a tiny margin, with a majority of Republicans opposing the bait and switch.

EXCLUSIVE: Left-wing nonprofits quietly coordinated a first-of-its-kind investigation into Big Oil led by the New York State Attorney General (NYAG) years ago, sparking dozens of current climate lawsuits, according to newly disclosed internal communications.

 

The communications โ€” obtained by watchdog group Government Accountability & Oversight (GAO) and shared with Fox News Digital โ€” show Lee Wasserman, the longtime director of the billionaire-fueled Rockefeller Family Fund, and other climate advocates first pitched the idea of subpoenaing oil giant ExxonMobil to then-New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman's office in early 2015.

 

Following months of coordination and dialogue between Wasserman, his associates and NYAG officials, including current New York City District Attorney Alvin Bragg who was leading NYAG's Social Justice division at the time, Schneiderman subpoenaed ExxonMobil in November 2015. Three years later, the NYAG filed a lawsuit against the multinational oil major, accusing it of fraud and misleading investors on global warming.

 

"These newly released emails and memos, withheld for seven years, document how outside ideological and political interests convinced law enforcement to launch investigations of political opponents โ€” even over the New York AG Officeโ€™s own lawyersโ€™ reservations โ€” in service of a larger, planned lawfare offensive," Chris Horner, an attorney representing GAO, told Fox News Digital. "They represent a civil libertarianโ€™s nightmare."

"This dispels beyond doubt the fiction of a 'missing link' between outside financial, ideological, and political lobbies and the nationwide campaign of lawfare brought by governmental plaintiffs and their partners in law enforcement," he added. "It puts the lie to claims that these suits are a series of unrelated, purely local actions: Every single โ€˜climateโ€™ lawsuit has the DNA of this โ€˜Patient Zeroโ€™ case, weaponizing law enforcement against the โ€˜climateโ€™ industryโ€™s political opponents."

 

According to the documents, which GAO recently received after a multi-year information request lawsuit, the Rockefeller Family Fund's Wasserman emailed NYAG Environmental Protection Bureau Chief Lemuel Srolovic on Feb. 3, 2015, referencing a meeting they recently had regarding ExxonMobil. In the email, Wasserman requested another meeting with Srolovic where his associates would present a "trove of material."

 

That follow-up meeting was scheduled for Feb. 23, 2015, and included other climate activists who had for years argued ExxonMobil deceived the public on the impact of fossil fuels on global warming. The other attendees were former Greenpeace USA Executive Director John Passacantando, Energy and Policy Institute Deputy Director Matt Kasper, Climate Investigations Center Founder Kert Davies and Rockefeller Family Fund adviser Larry Shapiro.

Without giving away the whole story, this first installment relies on a never-released classified report to describe a broad political espionage campaign that reportedly involved at least 26 Trump aides and associates. Mr. Bidenโ€™s silent war on the U.S. steel and aluminum industries began years ago during his vice presidency. Americaโ€™s steel and aluminum industries, which are critical to national security, did indeed find themselves in steep decline after eight years of the Obama-Biden administration.

 

Consider that steel imports as a percentage of total U.S. consumption rose from 22.7% in 2009 to 30.1% in 2016. Aluminum imports as a share of total U.S. consumption jumped from 41% to 53% in just 2015 to 2016.

 

To fix the mess, Mr. Trump invoked Section 232 tariffs in March 2018 on foreign steel and aluminum imports except those from Canada and Mexico, at 25% and 10%, respectively. I was in the Oval Office with then-Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross when my old boss took this bold action. Thus defended by the Trump tariffs, our steel and aluminum manufacturers would proceed to attract $15 billion of domestic investment while over 4,000 new jobs were created.

 

Behind the Trump tariff wall, steel and aluminum imports also drastically decreased, from 59% in 2017 to 22% by the end of 2019. All because of Mr. Trumpโ€™s tariffs.

The Afterlife and Selling Your Soul Clarification

Dear people of Earth,

 

As you may have realized: creation was set up with the central value of free will. Creation wasnโ€™t set up with the central value of niceness, or comfort, or of people being protected from bad or destructive choices. Instead, it was set up with the central value of free will, and the amount of free will you can exercise is actually quite extreme when you think about it.

 

For example, I am a mother and I think itโ€™s quite outrageous that a person is able to intentionally kill a baby. That is clearly a very destructive and hurtful choice. Yet, it is possible. You can do all kinds of horrible things to other people, and in general no law of nature or angel will step in to stop you.

 

Similarly, nothing in the universe stops you from using hard drugs, or stops you from drinking alcohol until it kills you. Nothing in the universe stops you from grabbing a knife and wounding or even mutilating yourself. I think this illustrates that creation is set up to allow for an extreme amount of free will, including allowing actions that are clearly destructive to others or yourself.

 

With this in mind, is it possible to make a deal with a demon along the lines of: โ€œgive me riches and fame now, and in exchange after this life I, as a soul, will agree to go to a dark place and / or serve youโ€? Yes, that is possible. You have an extreme amount of free will in creation, why wouldnโ€™t this be possible? If you make such a deal, the demon will attempt to pull you down to a dark place after your death, feeling justified in doing so. And it will probably succeed in doing so. What would normally prevent a demon from trying to pull you down, will not protect you in this case because you made a free-will choice. And higher consciousness beings are pretty big on allowing people to make free-will choices, even destructive ones.

 

And that is what is called: selling your soul.

 

Now, selling your soul is not an irrevocable or a forever-process. Even after you do it, you can call on for example Jesus for help, and he will help you. Or if you raise your vibration and level of consciousness sufficiently through spiritual practice, you can end up in a situation where you can either resist being pulled down because the dark place doesnโ€™t energetically fit you. Or if you already were pulled down you can become high-conscious enough that you just drift up and out of the dark place you were in. Or you can grow to become powerful enough that you can defeat and usurp the dark master you promised to serve.

 

Still, I donโ€™t recommend selling your soul.

 

But yes, selling your soul is a real thing. You can do a search and note just how many people talk about or sing about selling their soul.

 

Now, yes, I do know what a metaphor is, but metaphors donโ€™t spring up out of nothing. If selling your soul wasnโ€™t possible, then the term โ€œselling your soulโ€ wouldnโ€™t have any kind of emotional resonance โ€” then that would just be a combination of words that no one would ever actually say, similar to how no one says the words โ€œduplicating your soul.โ€ Because, you know, duplicating your soul is impossible, which is why no one says the words โ€œduplicating your soul.โ€ Well, similarly, if there wasnโ€™t such a thing as selling your soul, then no one would say those words, and instead people would talk about โ€œselling your freedomโ€ or โ€œselling your principlesโ€ to refer to the idea of a person giving up their freedom or principles to become rich or famous.

 

Thatโ€™s a good rule of thumb in general: if a term has emotional resonance, then thereโ€™s probably something real though possibly misunderstood there.

 

Now, maybe the words โ€œselling your soulโ€ create a picture in peopleโ€™s minds of their soul being irrevocably lost forever. Maybe that is why some people have a strong reaction against this concept, why they perhaps feel that โ€œselling your soulโ€ doesnโ€™t resonate to such a strong degree that they feel they can say itโ€™s nonsense. Indeed: it is true that you selling your soul doesnโ€™t mean that itโ€™s irrevocably lost forever.

 

So, selling your soul is one thing you can do. Another thing you can do is what Elizabeth April called โ€œselling your body.โ€ That is when you make a deal, and a hostile extraterrestrial or a demon enters your body and pushes your soul to the back. Then you can do nothing but watch, as the demon or hostile extraterrestrial takes control of your body and starts moving it. If there is no intervention, you can remain like that for a long time or even until death, at which point you go to the afterlife as normal.

In April 2020, with nothing else to do, my family took an enormous number of hikes. We all wore cloth masks that I had made myself. We had a family hand signal, which the person in the front would use if someone was approaching on the trail and we needed to put on our masks. Once, when another child got too close to my then-4-year-old son on a bridge, he yelled at her โ€œSOCIAL DISTANCING!โ€

 

These precautions were totally misguided. In April 2020, no one got the coronavirus from passing someone else hiking. Outdoor transmission was vanishingly rare. Our cloth masks made out of old bandanas wouldnโ€™t have done anything, anyway. But the thing is: We didnโ€™t know.

 

I have been reflecting on this lack of knowledge thanks to a class Iโ€™m co-teaching at Brown University on COVID. Weโ€™ve spent several lectures reliving the first year of the pandemic, discussing the many important choices we had to make under conditions of tremendous uncertainty.

 

Some of these choices turned out better than others. To take an example close to my own work, there is an emerging (if not universal) consensus that schools in the U.S. were closed for too long:

How Venezuelaโ€™s Good Citizens Were Disarmed is a Lesson For Us & Europe. After the Guns Were Removed, the Killing Fields Beganโ€ฆ

Over several years, Venezuelan authorities chipped away at individual gun rights, which was supposedly aimed at reducing gun violence. Each year that the gun-control reins were pulled tighter, murder rates increased. The Venezuelan population trusted the government. Venezuela was in a spiraling economic catastrophe.

In 2012, Maduro signed into law the Disarmament and Arms Munitions Control, which carried the explicit objective to โ€œdisarm all citizens.โ€ Staggering number of Venezuelan citizens killed by the government, as political opponents & protesters in the name of "resistance to authority.".

Homicide and crime rates are escalating as the inflation rate soars. The government has unleashed its forces and proxy militias to wage war on a troubled and defenseless population. Elections have proven to be useless, as theyโ€™ve been mired with corruption and charges of government tampering.

Hereโ€™s a history of what happens after governments have disarmed their citizens:

 

1911 โ€“ Turkey disarmed itโ€™s citizens, and between 1915 โ€“ 1917 they murdered 1.5 million Armenians.

1929 โ€“ Russia disarmed itโ€™s citizens, and between 1929 โ€“ 1953 they murdered 20 million Russians.

1935 โ€“ China disarmed itโ€™s citizens, and between 1948 โ€“ 1952 they murdered 20 million Chinese.

1956 โ€“ Cambodia disarmed itโ€™s citizens, and between 1975 โ€“ 1977 they murdered 1 million Educated people.

1964 โ€“ Guatamala disarmed itโ€™s citizens, and between 1964 โ€“ 1981 they murdered 100,000 Mayan Indians.

1970 โ€“ Uganda disarmed itโ€™s citizens, and between 1971 โ€“ 1979 they murdered 300,000 Christians.

 

They are a prepositioned force to create chaos with our critical infrastructure and to hit soft targets
