Seen for the first time since his son attempted to assassinate Trump, Matthew Crooks was pictured at the family home in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania as federal investigators visited Monday morning.

 

Clearly exhausted, his eyes showing the strain and the trauma of the past few days, Crooks opened the door to several members of the FBI who entered the unassuming brick home shortly before ten o’clock.

 

It was barely 48 hours since the Crooks family’s world was torn apart with the shocking events of Saturday afternoon when son Thomas Matthew, 20, opened fire on the former president as he addressed a rally of supporters in Butler, Pennsylvania.

 

Speaking to CNN in the immediate aftermath of his son’s identification, Matthew, 53, who works as a licensed behavioral therapist specializing in rehabilitation, appeared completely at a loss as he struggled to make sense of what he had just been told.

 

Reached by the network late Saturday night Crooks Sr. said he was still trying to figure out ‘what the hell is going on', but said he would ‘wait until I talk to law enforcement’ before speaking about his son.

Armed man in ski mask arrested while approaching Republican National Convention perimeter in Milwaukee

 

Man had AK-47 pistol, ski mask, tactical bag and full magazine

 

A man armed with an AK-47 pistol and wearing a ski mask was arrested on Monday just blocks from Fiserv Forum where the Republican National Convention is being held in Milwaukee, a federal law enforcement source confirmed to Fox News.

 

Homeland Security Investigators and Capitol Police were conducting surveillance near the RNC perimeter when they noticed a suspicious man approaching. He was wearing a ski mask and carrying a tactical bag, Fox News’ source confirmed.

 

Inside the bag, police found the gun and a full magazine. His intentions were unclear.

 

Milwaukee Police confirmed the incident to Fox News, saying a 21-year-old man was arrested around 1 p.m. on Monday on the 1200 block of N. 11th Street.

Police said the man does not have a concealed weapon license in Wisconsin or any other state.

 

Charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office, police said.

 

Fox News reached out to the Secret Service about the incident and was referred to Milwaukee Police. Fox News also reached out to Homeland Security Investigations and the Department of Homeland Security, but has not yet heard back.

 

This is not the only disturbing security concern to take place at the RNC. On Tuesday, a man was shot and killed by police about 2 miles from Fiserv Forum. A witness told Fox News the man lived in a nearby homeless camp and was brandishing a knife when he was shot.

 

Also on Tuesday, Rep. Derrick Van Orden, R-Minn., said he was assaulted by a protester. He said a member of CODEPINK assaulted him while he was waiting in line to enter the venue. He called it an "incident of political violence."

 

CODEPINK said the woman "was intentionally bumped into by this bald, white member of Congress while he tried to shove past her." The activist group denied Orden was assaulted.

 

This all comes as Tuesday’s theme of the RNC is "Make America Safe Once Again" and former President Donald Trump has called to address crime in Milwaukee.

Attorney David Schoen argued that Mueller's appointment violated the appointments clause.

 

One of former President Donald Trump's attorneys, David Schoen said the dismissal of the former president's classified documents case could lead to renewed scrutiny of special counsel Robert Mueller's probe into Russia collusion.

 

"There are people who were convicted under Robert Muller's investigation," Just the News, No Noise host John Solomon said. "Does the legitimacy of any special counsel who wasn't appointed or confirmed by the Senate potentially come under scrutiny as a result of today's opinion?"

 

"Not necessarily any, but Mueller certainly does," Schoen answered. "In fact, the seminal law review article written by professors Calabresi and Lawson really is directed to the Muller appointment."

 

On Monday, Judge Aileen Cannon dismissed Trump's classified documents case, arguing that "Special Counsel Smith’s appointment violates the Appointments Clause of the United States Constitution."

 

Schoen argued that Mueller's appointment also violated the appointments clause.

 

"We've always talked about the appointments clause in this, but Judge Cannon's decision really also deals with the appropriations clause: Article One, Section nine, clause seven states that we don't just have unlimited appropriations and an unlimited budget," Schoen said.

 

Mueller was the former director of the FBI who led the investigation into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election.

 

Last year special counsel John Durham released a report that stated that neither the FBI or DOJ had any evidence Trump colluded with Russia to interfere with the election results.

To a degree, yes. The thing is, there is plenty of financial analysis you can do to identify overvalued equity prime for shorting. It doesn't have to be insider information, that is just how you get filthy rich as a congressman, mostly.

 

The majority of successful shorting done by retail traders (that I'm aware of, personally) is done through options (buying/selling puts), which helps to limit your exposure.

 

When you short sell, you're putting yourself into a position wherein you introduce exponential/infinite risk (the price skyrockets), the options are a much safer way to short imo.

House Republican members on the Oversight Committee said Tuesday the Department of Homeland Security has taken over communications between the committee and the U.S. Secret Service and refuses to confirm a time for a briefing that was supposed to take place today.

 

The interposition by the Department of Homeland Security comes as Congress is seeking answers from the Secret Service about the security failure at Donald Trump's July 13 rally in Pennsylvania where an attempt was made on the former president's life. The USSS had previously agreed to brief the committee Tuesday.

 

"After the Secret Service agreed to brief members of the House Oversight Committee on Tuesday, the Department of Homeland Security took over communications with the Committee and has since refused to confirm a briefing time. The Oversight Committee has a long record of bipartisan oversight of the Secret Service and the unprofessionalism we are witnessing from current DHS leadership is unacceptable," a spokeswoman for the Oversight Committee said in a statement shared with Just the News Tuesday.

 

"While the Secret Service confirmed Director Cheatle is expected to appear for the Committee’s hearing on July 22, to head off any attempt by DHS to backtrack on her appearance, the Chairman will issue a subpoena for her to attend. Director Cheatle must answer to Congress and the American people about the historic failure that occurred on her watch," she added.

 

The Department of Homeland Security did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The Crooks twitter notable was by me, and it was not a link to Crooks' twitter

It was a link to a troll who everyone kept saying was Crooks, but wasnt.

He looked similar to Crooks, and ran with it for the keks.
