those who look and feel calmly relaxed not after a week of holyday and sitting in a nice chair, but when chaos breaks or when there is desperation, do not need another monitor.

A company called Austin Private Wealth LLC shorted 12,000,000 shares of $DJT via a put option. The filing date is July 12th, the day before the assassination attempt.

They have around $1 Billion in assets under management and this is by far the largest put placed. According to a source the trade represents 6% of total shares and over 16%! of the float of the stock given the fact that Trump owns 60% of the company.

This is a giant bet when you consider their total AUM but wait there's moreโ€ฆ

Bullet Trace, and interesting matters

 

Itโ€™s nearly 0400 here in Japan. So this is a mind-dump, sans edit:

 

Interesting on bullet trace โ€” scratching my memories, I do not recall seeing any bullet trace photos from close to 90 degrees from bulletโ€™s flight path. Am not saying it cannot be done. It probably can be done with modern cameras and high shutter speeds.

 

Now keep in mind I am pretty handy with weapons and with cameras. I was a Special Forces weapons specialist. As a photographer, I shot some of the most famous photos in Iraq and in Afghanistan. Substantial crossover knowledge.

 

My first thought was โ€” Iโ€™d never seen a trace shot from that angle. Second thought was it should be possible. Third thought was that would be a fast shutter speed.

 

I was preparing to reach out to the photographer. Hunting and pecking online, I found New York Times quoting the shutter speed at 1/8000th of second.

 

It happens that I have sitting on table here the top three DSLRs Sony makes. The cameras most people salivate over, I have three here. Because I know how important serious gear is.

 

I use only the very best cameras and lenses. Top gear helped make some of the most interesting and often intense photos in two wars. Unfortunately I often broke lenses while jumping on the ground or hitting against a wall or doorway. No camera ever broke.

 

I use the cameras regularly though rarely publish photos from them these days. The maximum shutter speed on all three of these cameras in 1/8000.

 

The the New York Times photographer, Doug Mills, is quoted as shooting at 30fps 1/8000.

 

Those are settings I would choose if I were trying to catch extremely fast action. Such as a head exploding.

 

Am not suggesting anything at all. Just as a war correspondentโ€ฆI never cranked shutter that high even for anything. I wanted to keep ISO lower. Other professionals choose other settings.

Yesterday I started thinking about the theory of belligerent occupation and wondering if it were true what would we see now with the recent events unfolding so I read sections 10,11 and 12 in the Law of War manual again.

 

I haven't been a believer in this theory but after so much time has passed, it looks more logical.

 

Some things I notice reading it now

  • Biden hasn't been able to go to his other Delaware home (section 11.18)

  • No clean budget has passed this entire time. they just keep passing CRs and kicking the can (section 11.22)

  • I also find section 12 interesting and worth a relook. The difference between surrender and capitulation. The use of white flag.

I found it strange the USSS Director instructed agents to no longer wear Handkerchief and only blue or black suits. Now I wonder if they don't want SS to use the white handkerchief or have it misinterpreted

To me, it looks like the camera angle is looking up the sleeve of the agent's coat. Most of the arm and coat sleeve are behind the body (I think the body is bent forward) and you can only see the end of jacket sleeve, but the angle makes it appear like a bullet hole rather than the whole sleeve opening.

What I want to know is this, once the shooter was confronted by the local LEO on top of the building, right before the shooting and the LEOs called it in, who was this information communicated to in the SS detail? Did this information go out over a primary TAC-COM frequency and did that information get to the agents who were with POTUS and allowed him to walk onto that stage with an imminant threat less than 150 yards from the stage?

I was listening to the audio of the rally in another tab and when the first pop sounded, I knew what it was. Looking back at how I reacted in that moment, kind of embarrassing. Yelled out "NO!" over and over and over, just heartwrenchingly from deep in the gut, switched the tab and saw him duck down behind the podium. Haven't felt anything that intense in a very long time. Then found out he was okay and felt dumb for reacting like that. KEK!
