Becky Pringle, the president of the National Education Association (NEA), went on an unhinged rant at the NEA’s Annual Meeting and Representative Assembly (RA) in Philadelphia.

While Pringle flailed her arms, she screeched, “To unite not just our members, but the nation to reclaim public education as a common good, as the foundation of our democracy, and then transform it into something it was never designed to be—a racially and socially just and equitable system.”

“We worked hard to rid ourselves of a tyrannical, deceitful, and corrupt White House, but the reality is that the seeds that were sown during that horrible season continue to germinate.”

“We are the ones who help shape the heart of this nation’s hope and dreams. We are the ones who hold steadfast to the belief in the plausibility of the possible. We are the heirs of all who did this work before us. We must keep going. NEA Delegates, we can do this work. We must do this work.”

Elisabeth Hasselbeck, a former co-host of “The View,” slammed presumptive 2024 Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris over her “lack of ability” Friday on “Hannity.”

Hasselbeck told Fox News’s Sean Hannity that “The View” is “not representing” the perspectives of America’s female voters, saying she doubts one person on the talk show’s panel would publicly admit to voting for 2024 Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

The former “The View” co-host blasted the show as being “just part of a media swarm” that punishes conservative women. She tore into the media for propping up Harris as a relatable figure, pointing out that relatability does not neccessarily mean the vice president is capable of doing the job.

“The latest tactic of the media, and really everyone has to stay awake, is thatthey want to convince American voters that relatability is the equivalent of ability. And it’s not!”Hasselbeck told Hannity.

“You just talked about Kamala Harris supposedly eating a bag of Doritos, so emotionally charged after hearing this,” she continued. “That’s the commander-in-chief, potentially. That’s the emotional response of the leader of the world? To binge-eat a bag of Doritos? Are you kidding me?”

“Can you imagine Putin, how he deals with things, chugging down a bag of sour patch kids because he’s depressed about something not going his way? Or, back in the day, Soleimani binging on Funyuns? I doubt it. I doubt that’s the actual response of an elite leader whether you agree with what they’re leading or not. The relatability cloud that’s beingdusted over Americans right now is only to hide that there’s a lack of ability. Kamala Harris failed at the border, so what do we want to do, give her the globe? Are you kidding me? I am just shocked,” Hasselbeck said.

The Harris campaign sent out an email Friday asking for donations with an anecdote claiming the vice president “sat on the couch with a family-sized bag of Doritos” which she binge-ate upon discovering Trump won the 2016 election.

Harris has made several attempts to appear relatable to Gen Z voters, including trend-hopping on social media and celebrity guest stars. The vice president branded her campaign headquarters’s account in the green aesthetic of pop sensation Charli XCX’s sixth studio album, “brat,” in late July. She also featured musical guests such as Meghan Thee Stallion and Bon Iver at rallies.

Hasselbeck said it is a “big problem” that Harris has not taken a single adversarial question since she was “slotted in” to replace President Joe Biden, who endorsed her after dropping out of the race July 21.

“She was slotted in in, the most, like, I think unnerving moment for our democracy. And then now is denying that she’s part of the Biden economic problem. So, she wants to separate herself.Her only platform right now, and everyone’s like, ‘Get to know Kamala! Get to know Kamala!’ You can try, but she will change. She has a use ’em or lose ’em mentality — it’s awful,” Hasselbeck said.

‘It’s truly a matter of life and death’: Milwaukee Police As­so­ci­ation endorses Trump-Vance ticket

MILWAUKEE — Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance of Ohio made his second trip to Wisconsin since he became former President Donald Trump’s running mate during the Republican National Convention (RNC) held in Milwaukee last month.

During a Friday visit to the Milwaukee Police Association (MPA), Vance thanked the officers who helped keep the city safe during last month’s political convention, before he put the spotlight on crime and ultimately accepted the union’s endorsement.

“What we want to talk about today is how we need to have a law enforcement policy that is just supportive of the people who are keeping us safe,” Vance said.

As agencies nationwide face staffing struggles, Vance laid out Republicans’ vision for keeping the streets safe, including enhancing social security benefits for law enforcement officers who may typically have to rely on their pensions instead.

“Our leaders have attacked the police for so long that a lot of people just don’t want to do police work anymore. That is the first thing that leadership needs to change,” Vance added.

The MPA is the union representing rank-and-file officers in the Milwaukee Police Department. Alexander Ayala, who serves as president of the organization, said the list of challenges officers face is long.

“Low bail for dangerous criminals, the need for honest and concentrated efforts to pursue those offenders wanted on bench warrants, low officer morale,” Ayala explained. “That’s why the MPA is endorsing the presidential ticket of Donald Trump and JD Vance because addressing these issues isn’t political. It’s truly a matter of life and death to Milwaukee.”

Meanwhile, a new ABC News/Washington Post/Ipsos poll released Friday shows more Americans favor Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who is running alongside Vice President Kamala Harris, as a pick for vice president than Vance, which he addressed when asked about the latest numbers.

“I don’t put much stock in polls, especially at this early level,” Vance said. “[Walz] received a ridiculous media honeymoon where they’ve hidden, a lot of press, have hidden some of the things he’s said and done. This is a guy who actively encouraged rioters to burn down Minneapolis during the summer of 2020.”

Despite the criticism of Gov. Walz, a recorded phone call from 2020 shows Trump praised the governor at the time for how he had handled the violence that erupted in the wake of George Floyd’s murder.

It’s the media lie that just won’t die: the “very fine people” hoax in Charlottesville seven long years ago.

Democrats and the media ran with this lie for years. It was one of the first major narratives to paint the new Trump administration as irredeemably racist, poisoning the Donald Trump brand for moderates and justifying hysterical, often lawless, resistance from the left.

When the regime fact-checker Snopes finally debunked it in June 2024, it seemed like the hoax had finally died. But then the Kamala Harris campaign scurrilously resurrected it Monday with a backhanded tweet.

Unfortunately for a deceitful political campaign, regular Twitter users now have the power to fact-check elites themselves.

A torrent of vigilante fact-checkers poured in to point out the very obvious lie.

As everyone should know by now, Trump spoke broadly on the crowd of right and left-wing protesters saying there were “very fine people” on both sides. He “totally condemned,” however, the minority of white supremacists and neo-Nazis who were also in attendance. The media disingenuously stripped these snippets of context to make him look divisive and hateful.

The “very fine people” comment was meant to be unifying: People can disagree politically but still come together to denounce the truly bad actors. This could have been a genuinely unifying moment if the left could admit that there are still some good people on the right, just as the right denounced the bad apples in their own camp. Yet with their blatant manipulation of this opportunity, the media showed us who they were for the first time.

They don’t want unity. They don’t want equal justice and standards. They want to demonize the right — the entire right — and shield the left no matter what they do. And they will blatantly lie in order to achieve this.

U.S. Air Force security guards exchanged gunfire with a person who shot at the main gate of Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland early Saturday, according to a spokesperson for the base.

An unknown suspect first shot at Air Force Security personnel working the entrance gate to Lackland Air Force base at 2:30 a.m. Security personnel reported the incident, and the base beefed up security, according to a statement from the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD).

Then a little before 5:00, a sedan stopped near the same entrance and shots were fired at Air Force personnel who then exchanged gunfire with the shooter.

“The security personnel stated they heard several shots fired as well as the fired rounds go past them,” according to SAPD spokesperson Washington Moscoso. “After this incident, the security personnel added more armed guards as a precaution. Later that same morning, just before 5:00 am, a sedan stopped on Median Base Rd. East of the same entrance gate to the Lackland AFB/Chapman Training Annex.

“For a second time, shots were fired at the Air Force Security personnel, however, with the additional security personnel present, multiple Air Force personnel returned fire toward the suspect vehicle,” Moscoso added.

According to the Associated Press, no injuries were reported after the guards returned fire with a car that drove by the entrance around 4:30 a.m.

‘Pot Is Empty’ — Germany to End New Ukraine Military Aid Amid Berlin’s Budget Crunch: Report

Germany has halted future aid to Ukraine amid Berlin’s budget struggles, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper reports.

According to the FAZ report, all future requests from the Ministry of Defence for Ukraine aid will not be approved by German ChancellorOlaf Scholz as his leftist government seeks to cut costs to address the 12 billion euro budget shortfall.

The paper said, however, that most of the money and physical aid already allocated to be sent to Ukraine will continue to be sent. This year, some 8 billion euros have been earmarked for Kyiv, while next year an additional 4 billion has already been approved after aid was slashed in half for budgetary reasons.

Past that, a government source told FAZ that “the pot is empty.” Government communications obtained by the paper said that “new measures” will only be approved if fresh “financing is secured” for upcoming federal budgets.

With Germany representing Ukraine’s largest single financier in Europe, the cessation of further aid payments could represent a significant hurdle for Kyiv to continue the war against the much larger and richer Russia.

Although the payment freeze is technically for future budgets, the effects of the cutoff are already having an impact on present-day aid transfers, with money for an IRIS-T air defence system offered by German manufacturer Diehl Defence recently being denied by the federal government.

This is because the €8 billion allocated for this year has already been spent, and the € 4 billion slated for 2025 has reportedly been surpassed. According to the report, while Ukraine will receive supplies previously agreed upon, “hardly any” new orders from Germany will be possible until 2028.

Berlin is reportedly banking on future aid to Ukraine coming from the $300 billion pot of Russian central bank assets seized by Western allies in the aftermath of the 2022 invasion.

While the G-7 nations agreed at their Italian summit in June to use the interest on the assets to help finance a $50 billion loan for Kyiv, there has been no formal agreement on whether the assets themselves or the income generated from interest could be sent directly to Ukraine to prop up the war effort.

Indeed, the Green Party’s chairman in the Bundestag parliament’s budget committee said that currently “there is unfortunately nothing concrete on the use of Russian assets.” The deputy budget spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group, Andreas Schwarz, added that it is unknown how soon Russian assets could be diverted to Ukraine or “whether this is legally possible at all.”

The spending freeze will likely further exacerbate ongoing issues with the lack of support from Germany. FAZ reported that due to a lack of spare parts and ammunition, some German guns already supplied to Ukraine can only fire three to four rounds per day, undercutting the usefulness of fast-firing guns such as the Panzerhaubitze 2000.

The paper also reports that many working German Leopard 1A5 main battle tanks are being “cannibalised” by the Ukrainians in order to keep others going due to a lack of spare parts supplied by Berlin.

Three days ago, in the aftermath of the WSJ report seeking to radically shift the narrative over the Nordstream sabotage, where instead of the CIA being blamed for the explosion of the critical gas pipeline from Russia to Europe, unnamed "intelligence" sources forged on with a hilarious script according to which a top Ukraine general (operating initially under the instructions of Zelensky but then going rogue wen Z got "cold feet") was responsible for coordinating the sabotage using a handful of rank amateurs who somehow managed to sneak to the bottom of the Baltic sea and conduct an unprecedented military operation, we said that - no matter the laughable veracity of the report - relations between Germany and Ukraine are "about to turn ugly", and we asked why this story is coming out just now?

We didn't have long to wait to get the answer: as German media reports, this U-turn in the narrative (which according to some meant that NATO should now unleash its full military power against…. Ukraine, which had single-handedly attacked German assets by blowing up the Nordstream) was meant to soften the blow from Germany's decision to finally cut off Ukraine's - and Zelensky's - unprecedented grift.

According to a Saturday report in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ), the German government will stop new military aid to Ukraine as part of the ruling coalition's plan to reduce spending. The report, which cited non-public documents and emails as well as discussions with unnamed sources, goes on to note that the moratorium on new assistance - which is already in effect - will affect new requests for funding, not previously approved aid,

In a letter sent to the German defense ministry on Aug. 5, Finance Minister Christian Lindner said that future funding would no longer come from Germany's federal budget but from proceeds from frozen Russian assets, according to the German newspaper. And since we already know that recent attempts to liquidate Russian assets crashed and burned over fears of escalating Russian retaliation, this effectively means no more aid for Ukraine.

Berlin, which is Europe's main supplier of military aid to Kyiv, had previously signaled a change in course on Ukraine last month, when the governing coalition of the Social Democrats, the Greens and the Liberals adopted a preliminary deal on a draft budget for 2025. The compromise detailed plans to slash future assistance to Ukraine by half to €4 billion to fulfill other spending priorities. And, it now appears, that even this token amount is about to be cut to zero.

As we reported in June, the G7’s decision to extend a USD 50 billion loan to Ukraine, backed by immobilized Russian assets, was this summit’s most significant step forward. This loan structure reflects a typical compromise between the US and Europe. While the straightforward solution would involve seizing all of Russia’s frozen assets (estimated at USD 280 billion) to directly fund Ukraine’s war efforts, European countries – particularly France, Germany, and Belgium – aggressively shied away from this, viewing it as too aggressive and fearing Russian reciprocation. Instead, they opted for using the interest on matured assets, which amounts to only a few billion dollars per year. The first option would be a game changer, we said, "whereas the second option falls embarrassingly short."

For the second time in two years, WHO has declared mpox, formerly known as monkeypox, a public health emergency of international concern. Below we look at whether WHO’s grounds for declaring an emergency are valid and what they will do next.

Our advice is do not comply and do not take the vaccine.

The World Health Organisation (“WHO”) first declared mpox a public health emergency of international concern (“PHEIC”) in July 2022.

On Wednesday, WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced that the upsurge of mpox in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (“DRC”) and a growing number of countries in Africa constitutes a PHEIC under the International Health Regulations (2005).

Two vaccines already in use for mpox are recommended by WHO’s Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunisation, and approved by authorities in Nigeria and the DRC.

Last week, the Director-General triggered the process for Emergency Use Listing for mpox vaccines, which will accelerate vaccine access for lower-income countries which have not yet issued their own national regulatory approval. Emergency Use Listing also enables partners including GAVI and UNICEF to procure vaccines for distribution.
