“AJP Educational Foundation and AMP, in conjunction with its fiscally sponsored project Students for Justice in Palestine (‘SJP’) has engaged in conduct that includes inciting riots and violence, supporting illegal activity, and conducting other activity contrary to the public good,” he continued. “AMP also holds suspected ties to designated terrorist organizations despite holding tax-exempt status as a nonprofit organization. This conduct is designed to sow chaos and discord in our society, has involved illegal activities, and certainly is not in furtherance of any tax-exempt purpose.”

In an attached appendix, Smith noted that “AMP through AJP provides funding for Students for Justice in Palestine (‘SJP’), which has organized and supported extensive antisemitic protests that have resulted in harassment, assault, property vandalization, and trespassing, among other illegal activities.”

Smith also called upon the IRS to remove tax exemption for other nonprofits linked to recent anti-Israel encampments and anti-Semitic activity on college campuses, including the Westchester Peace Action Committee Foundation, the Tides Foundation, and Jewish Voice for Peace.

In a press release published that same day, Smith stated that “American taxpayers are rightfully outraged by what has transpired on American college campuses this past year, and they are even more disgusted to learn their tax dollars have subsidized the groups organizing this illegal activity at home and potentially terrorist organizations overseas.”

“Tax-exempt status is a privilege, not a right, and in exchange, organizations must operate for stated exempt purposes,” he added. “The Ways and Means Committee will continue putting pressure on the Biden-Harris Administration until it stands up to the pro-Hamas wing of the Democrat Party and puts a stop to this antisemitic and anti-American behavior once and for all.”

In July, the Ways and Means Committee held a hearing titled: “Fueling Chaos: The Flow of Tax-Exempt Dollars to Antisemitism.”

Laura Burns of George Washington University’s Program on Extremism told the committee that “Terrorist organizations have used tax-exempt organizations as fronts for their activities for decades in the U.S., as cover for their illicit financing and to further their propaganda and influence campaigns.”

The vice president of the Anti-Defamation League’s Center on Extremism, Oren Segal, also testified that day, noting: “Since the October 7th Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel, which included the slaughter of 1200 people and the abduction of more than 200 others, anti-Semitism has surged.” He also stated that Students for Justice in Palestine “celebrated” the “massacre of Israelis as a historic win for Palestinian resistance.”

Another new bombshell report by the Associated Press shows once again that churches are stealing from the American taxpayer:

“As the pandemic began to unfold, AP reveals today, “scores of Catholic dioceses across the U.S. received aid through the Paycheck Protection Program while sitting on well over $10 billion in cash, short-term investments or other available funds, an Associated Press investigation has found. And despite the broad economic downturn, these assets have grown in many dioceses.”

AP reports that “[t]he 112 dioceses that shared their financial statements collected at least $1.5 billion in taxpayer-backed aid. A majority of these dioceses reported enough money on hand to cover at least six months of operating expenses, even without any new income.”

The PPP is not even a year old and already the grift and abuse by church has been enormous. And unfortunately we’ll see more: The Paycheck Protection Program was reopened on January 11, 2021.

First, the Small Business Administration violated the Constitution and trampled long standing agency rules to extend these loans to churches.

However, the SBA ignored that language, and the centuries-old bar on taxpayer-funded religious worship, and issued rules and guidance declaring that your taxpayer funds “can be used to pay the salaries of ministers and other staff engaged in the religious mission of institutions.”

To do this, SBA had to suspend numerous rules that, correctly, prevented taxpayer funds from flowing to churches.

SBA was spurred to do this because a few congressmen, like Christian Nationalist Josh Hawley who has since incited an insurrection, declared after the fact and against the language of the law and the Constitution, that churches were beneficiaries.

Again, FFRF was there to explain why this was wrong.

Third, the Trump administration was using the program to reward his closest political allies. FFRF broke the story of secretive White House calls between SBA officials and religious leaders that supported Trump politically. The preachers were encouraged to apply for the PPP funds and promised help. Trump-allied faith leaders were assured by the federal government that even a discriminatory fly-by-night “church” that provides absolutely no secular social services, and of which the owner is the sole employee, could have its wages covered by taxpayers during the PPP time period. On one call, Focus on the Family founder James Dobson, a member of Trump’s Evangelical Advisory Council, explained that the Dr. James Dobson Family Institute, which took in $350,000–$1 million, “has literally been kept solvent . . . by the Paycheck Protection Plan (sic)” and explained that in 43 years of leading two faith-based ministries, he has “never asked for, nor received, one cent from the federal government” expressing his surprise that taxpayer funds could now flow to his ministry.

Finally, there’s the well-documented but still emerging abuse, including by FFRF Director of Strategic Response Andrew Seidel, who wrote, “American churches took in as much as $10 billion in taxpayer funds through PPP loans.

More than 400 evangelical churches received loans of at least $1 million. The Catholic Church might have taken in as much as $3.5 billion.”

He explained that Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church took in nearly $5 million in taxpayer funds.

Other mega-churches purchased private jets, returning the taxpayer money when they were caught.

And this is only the tip of the corruption as the latest AP report shows.

Tensions rise between Harris and Biden teams as election nears

The relationship between Kamala Harris' team and Joe Biden's White House has been increasingly fraught in the final weeks before Election Day,10 people familiar with the situation tell Axios.

Why it matters:Biden's team wants Harris to win the election, but many senior Biden aides remain wounded by the president being pushed out of his re-election bid and are still adjusting to being in a supporting role on the campaign trail.

• "They're too much in their feelings," one close Harris ally said of the president's team — a sentiment shared even by some White House aides.

Driving the news:Some on the Harris team say that top White House aides aren't sufficiently coordinating Biden's messaging and schedule to align with what's best for the vice president's campaign.

• Biden gave an impromptu press conference in the White House briefing room Friday just as Harris was about to do an event in Michigan, ensuring that her event would get less TV coverage than it otherwise would have.

• Earlier in the week, Harris criticized Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) for not taking her call about the recent hurricanes, only for Biden to praise DeSantis soon after for being "gracious" and "cooperative." (A person familiar with the situation told Axios that Biden hadn't been briefed on Harris' comments.)

Five Chinese nationals, all recent graduates of the University of Michigan (UMich), have been implicated in a federal investigation related to theirsuspicious activities at Camp Grayling, a military base in northern Michigan.

The individuals, identified as Zhekai Xu, Renxiang Guan, Haoming Zhu, Jingzhe Tao, and Yi Liang, face charges for “[f]alse statements, conspiracy, [and] [d]estruction, alteration, or falsification of records in federal investigations,” according to an FBI complaint filed on Oct. 1.

The complaint states that the fiveChinese nationals were caught while taking pictures close to “numerous military vehicles, tents, and classified communications equipment.” The incident occurred during the Northern Strike exercise in August 2023.

Northern Strike is “one of the largest U.S. National Guard training exercises held in the United States,which included U.S. military personnel from across the United States and, in August 2023, members of the Taiwanese military.”

The communist Chinese government considers Taiwan, which is a sovereign, independent democracy, to be part of China, and has made increasingly aggressive moves towards the island nation.

Describing the incident in more detail, the complaint states: “The SUBJECTS stood near the boat launch. When questioned, they said they were taking pictures.When the [sergeant major] asked what they were photographing, Subject 1 replied, ‘We are media.’ The SGM asked if they were with the Taiwanese, and Subjects 2 and 4 responded that ‘We’re Chinese.’ The SGM firmly told them they had to leave, that they should not be there because there were soldiers and equipment around. The group promptly gathered their things and walked quickly towards the road, and away from the TOC. The [sergeant major] followed the group until he was satisfied that they were leaving the area.” (Why didn't this guy detain them?)

It was later discovered that the five suspects had stayed at a hotel close to Camp Grayling. The five students graduated from UMich in May 2024, and were part of the school’s “joint program with Shanghai Jiao Tong University.”

When questioned later, the students made numerous “false statements and misrepresentations” about their activities around the military base.

As seen from records ofconversations between the students on WeChat, a Chinese messaging app, the suspects seemed to have“coordinated their statements regarding the incident and discussed the deletion of photos from their electronic devices to prevent them being seen by law enforcement.”

Campus Reform has contacted the University of Michigan for comment. This article will be updated accordingly.

Growing up, many of us dream of one day venturing into space.

But the reality of life on board the International Space Station (ISS) is much less glamorous than you'd think.

As we recently found out when two NASA astronauts were stranded there, the ISS is extremely claustrophobic, with residents forced to sleep in phonebooth-sized bedrooms, use vacuum-powered toilets, and wear the same underwear for weeks on end.

However, things are looking up for future space travellers, as the world's first private space station has been unveiled ahead of its launch next year.

Dubbed Haven-1, the space station is much more modern and spacious than the ISS, with queen-size beds, a state-of-the-art gym, and maple wood interiors.

Haven-1 is the brainchild of US-based space firm, Vast, who teamed up with world-renowned designer, Peter Russell-Clarke, on the design.

'Astronauts living in zero gravity pose unique design challenges,' said Mr Russell-Clarke, who has previously worked with Apple.

'Creating an environment that is both highly efficient and naturally comforting leads to totally new results.

'Haven-1 interiors are unprecedented, precisely engineered and sensitively designed to ensure its occupants thrive in space.'

From the outside, Haven-1 looks like any other spacecraft.

However, the interior is much more warm and welcoming than the ISS, with maple wood interiors throughout.

'Notably, Haven-1's interior surfaces are soft and padded to provide an added safety component for crew and visitors as they float throughout,' Vast explained.

The station's four private crew quarters can be found above and below the main corridor, and offer astronauts a space to rest and recharge.

'Slightly larger than the crew quarters aboard the ISS, these expanded personal rooms are uniquely designed to allow for changing, entertainment, online communication with loved ones back on Earth (enabled by SpaceX Starlink connectivity), and, most importantly, a good night's rest,' Vast said.

With no gravity to keep you horizontal, sleeping in space has posed a challenge to astronauts in the past.

However, Vast hopes to tackle that issue with a patent-pending signature sleep system.

'[This] is roughly the size of a queen bed, provides a customized amount of equal pressure throughout the night, and accommodates side and back sleepers alike,' the company explained.

The main Common Area measures 24m³, and will serve as a multifunctional hub where the crew can eat, exercise, carry out laboratory experiments, and relax.

A deployable table can be folded into the floor when not in use, while the astronauts will be able to gaze down at Earth through an expansive observation window.

Meanwhile, astronauts will be able to keep active in the state-of-the-art gym, featuring a resistance band system.

'The resistance band system in the Common Area has body and station anchors for customized exercise routines targeting bone, muscular, and cardiovascular fitness,' Vast said.

'The system is capable of both linear and rotational resistance exercises, focusing on both upper and lower-body musculoskeletal health.'

Veteran NASA astronaut, Andrew Feustel, has logged over 225 days in space on the ISS, and played a critical role in advising Vast on the space station.

'From communication and connectivity, to private space and interacting with others aboard, to advancing human progress on Earth and beyond, every detail has been designed with the astronaut experience at the core of our work,' Mr Feustel said.

'So much of our learning on ISS explores how living in microgravity affects the human body, both physically and psychologically — and one takeaway I've had is that intuitive design isn't a luxury in that regard: it's key to ensuring astronauts can work and live in space seamlessly.

'To see Haven-1's design solve many of the challenges we faced aboard the ISS, and to use the progress we made there to ensure we can do this long-term while caring for ourselves is just extraordinary.'

While the cost to build Haven-1 has not been disclosed, Vast says it will have invested about $1 billion by the time the station launches.

Here are my thoughts: I agree in principle that an anti-war movie is incongruous with promoting the idea of a tough non-woke US military and thus war itself - however - these are very dangerous and strange times and thus using this footage is doubtless pure expedience.

BecauseI’m sure the irony of using FMJ footage is not lost on Trump or his team- Trump is always seeking to end wars and use peaceful methods. However, that’s primarily what FMJ is about,the shocking and complicated paradoxes of human nature.

Andthus, on this tooth and claw planet, you need a very strong military- so I’m going to stick with the idea that FMJ footage was used primarily because of its powerful, realistic portrayal of boot camp, juxtaposed with the entirely demoralizing and inappropriate injection of WOKE ideology into the USA military. Israeli Troops Breach Blue Line to Cross Into Lebanon, Forcibly Enter UN Base

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - UN peacekeepers in Lebanon saw Israeli troops breach the Blue Line that separates Israel from Lebanon on Sunday morning and force their way into a UN base at the southern Lebanese border village of Ramyah, in what the UN Interim Force In Lebanon (UNIFIL) described as a grave violation of international humanitarian law.

"Early this morning, peacekeepers at a UN position in Ramyah observed three platoons of IDF soldiers crossing the Blue Line into Lebanon," the statement read.

While the peacekeepers were in shelters, two Israeli Merkava tanks destroyed the main gate to the UN position and entered there, the mission said, adding that the Israeli soldiers demanded that the base turn the lights off.

"Breaching and entering a UN position is a … flagrant violation of international law and Security Council resolution 1701 (2006). Any deliberate attack on peacekeepers is a grave violation of international humanitarian law and resolution 1701," UNIFIL said.

Two hours later, the same UN base reported the firing of several rounds some 300 feet north of the position, which caused smoke to enter the camp and cause skin irritation and gastrointestinal symptoms in UN troops. They are receiving treatment, the mission said.

In a separate incident, Israeli soldiers denied passage to UNIFIL vehicles near the border Lebanese village of Meiss ej Jebel. The critical movement could not be completed, the mission said.

UNIFIL stressed that its mandate provided for freedom of movement in the area of operations and demanded that the Israeli military and other actors fulfill their obligations to ensure the safety and security of UN personnel and property and respect the inviolability of UN premises.

Mysterious lights spark suggestion of 'UFO sighting' in the Midlands

Mystery surrounds a number of 'weird' lights that were spotted in the Midlands sky.

The strange sightings were reported on Friday night, and led to suggestions it could have been a UFO.

Five bright lights were seen in the James Brindley Way area of Sandyford in Staffordshire.

CCTV and doorbell footage was captured at 11.19pm, StokeonTrentLive reports.

One clip showed the lights flying through the sky.

Another had captured what appeared to be the same five lights, followed by another, brighter light.

Staffordshire residents have shared their thoughts on what was in the sky that night. One said: "There’s no way that’s a low-flying plane, and nothing goes over that way on Flight Tracker.

I don't want to get my tin foil hat on but that’s gotta be some UFO or something."

Another, who lives on nearby Brindley Village, added: "This is a weird one.

I saw these lights over my house last night and I thought it was a Starlink or something at first but it doesn’t look the same."

Kamala Harris has become famous, in part, for her unique rhetorical style. She switches freely between various accents and peppers her speeches with catchphrases: pondering falling “out of a coconut tree,” discussing “the significance of the passage of time,” and moving the nation toward “what can be, unburdened by what has been.” To her supporters, the vice president’s rhetorical flourishes represent the values of compassion and optimism.To her detractors, her reliance on platitudes and tautologies demonstrates her unfitness for the presidency.

But, as we have discovered in this exclusive report,another element appears to exist within Kamala Harris’s rhetorical universe: plagiarism.At the beginning of Harris’s political career, in the run-up to her campaign to serve as California’s attorney general,she and co-author Joan O’C Hamilton published a small volume, entitled Smart on Crime: A Career Prosecutor’s Plan to Make Us Safer. The book helped to establish her credibility on criminal-justice issues.

However, according toStefan Weber, a famed Austrian “plagiarism hunter” who has taken down politicians in the German-speaking world,Harris’s book contains more than a dozen “vicious plagiarism fragments.” Some of the passages he highlighted appear to contain minor transgressions—reproducing small sections of text; insufficient paraphrasing—but others seem to reflect more serious infractions, similar in severity to those found in Harvard president Claudine Gay’s doctoral thesis. (Harris did not respond to a request for comment.)

Let’s consider a selection of these excerpts from Harris’s book, beginning with one in which Harris discusses high school graduation rates. Here,she lifted verbatim language from an uncited NBC News report, with the duplicated material marked in italics:

“In Detroit’s public schools, only 25 percent of the students who enrolled in grade nine graduated from high school, while 30.5 percent graduated in Indianapolis public schools and 34 percent received diplomas in the Cleveland Municipal City School District. Overall, about 70 percent of the U.S. students graduate from public and private schools on time with a regular diploma, and about 1.2 million students drop out annually. Only about half of the students served by public school systems in the nation’s largest cities receive diplomas.”

There’s more. In another section of the book, Harris,without proper attribution, reproduced extensive sections from a John Jay College of Criminal Justice press release. She and her co-author passed off the language as their own,copying multiple paragraphs virtually verbatim. Here is the excerpt, with the airlifted material in italics and abbreviations, such as percentages and state names, treated as verbatim substitutions:

“High Point had its first face-to-face meeting with drug dealers, from the city’s West End neighborhood, on May 18, 2004. The drug market shut down immediately and permanently, with a sustained 35 percent reduction in violent crime. High Point repeated the strategy in three additional markets over the next three years. There is virtually no remaining public drug dealing in the city, and serious crime has fallen 20 percent citywide.

The High Point Strategy has since been implemented in Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and Raleigh, North Carolina; in Providence, Rhode Island; and in Rockford, Illinois. The U.S. Department of Justice is launching a national program to replicate the strategy in ten additional cities”.

“The Mid-town [sic] Community Court was established as a collaboration between the New York State Unified Court System and the Center for Court Innovation. The court works in partnership with local residents, businesses, and social service agencies to organize community service projects and provide on-site social services, including drug treatment, mental health counseling, and job training. To make matters worse, in duplicating Wikipedia’s language, Harris seems to havemissed critical information and misstateda relevant detail. She claims, in prose identical to the online encyclopedia’s, that “illegal vending was down 24 percent” as a result of the court’s policies. Early in the paragraph, Harris cites the Bureau of Justice Assistance report to substantiate the figure. But she made a mistake:On Wikipedia, the “24 percent” figure was apparently tied to a different report, which found that “arrests for unlicensed vending,” rather than unlicensed vending as such, “fell by 24 percent” (emphasis mine). Her reliance on Wikipedia, an unreliable source, led to an unreliable conclusion.

While the BJA report was not the proper source for the “24 percent” claim, it did appear in the Wikipedia entry’s list of citations, and apparently was a fruitful resource for Harris and her coauthor, as they reproduced substantial portions of its sentences.Here is the passage in Harris’s book, with duplicated materialfrom the BJA report noted in italics:

Take “West Palm Beach, Florida. This residential neighborhood on the outskirts of downtown struggles with a high crime rate. Although West Palm Beach is less than one mile from Palm Beach, one of the most affluent cities in the country, more than a third of the town’s residents live in poverty, and unemployment is high. The community is full of deteriorated houses and businesses, vacant lots with discarded mattresses and piles of trash, and litter strewn throughout the streets, sidewalks, yards, and parks. At the time the community considered adding a court, no new business had opened in the area, and few new houses had been built in recent years”.

Finally,when attempting to write a description of a nonprofit group, Harris simply lifted promotional language from an Urban Institute report, and failed to cite her source. Here is the current vice president, with the lifted language in italics:

“Participants meet six days a week for twelve hours a day and take part in an intensive schedule that involves classes, group learning, and group counseling designed to help them take a hard look at the violence in their lives. When the men are released after serving their sentences, they continue a six-month substance-abuse program or continue in the Post Release Education Program. The men are also required to participate in community restoration activities to begin to make amends for the impact of violence on the community; RSVP conducts workshops and discussions at high schools and other public events to increase awareness about violent crime.”

Taken in total, there is certainly a breach of standards here. Harris and her co-author duplicated long passages nearly verbatim without proper citation and without quotation marks, which is the textbook definition of plagiarism.

They not only lifted material from sources without proper attribution, but in at least one case, relied on a low-quality source, which potentially undermined the accuracy of their conclusion.

Of course, Harris, like many other public figures, may have relied entirely on a ghostwriter to draft her book. But that is not exculpatory: Harris, at the end of the day, put her name on the cover.

On that point, one might recall the title of her book: Smart on Crime.There is nothing smart about plagiarism, which is the equivalent of an academic crime. The publisher, as well as the sitting vice president, should retract the plagiarized passages and issue a correction. There should be a single standard—and Kamala Harris is falling short.

MAGA Invents Its Most Outrageous Tim Walz Conspiracy Yet

Donald Trump’s biggest fans have come up with an outlandish new conspiracy theory about Tim Walz. But the screenshots undermine the whole thing.

A MAGA influencer is trying to spreada nasty rumorabout Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz. The issue is it reads more like fan fiction than facts.

“DocNetyoutube,” whom Washington Post media reporter Will Sommer describes as “an up-and-coming new player in the ‘making things up’ corner of online Trumpworld,” claims he has proof that Walz sexually assaulted a student during his time as a high school teacher.

In a series of “drops,” a term popular in the QAnon community, DocNetyoutube on Sunday posted several alleged screenshots of communications between himself and Walz’s anonymous victim. But the posts have several red flags about their authenticity.

The email dates are formatted in an inconsistent way, with misplaced commas and strange text alignment. Another clue is what appears to be a typing cursor that still appears on the screenshots, indicating that the internet personality most likely wrote them himself.

Twitter screenshot Will Sommer @willsommer: MAGA-land had been eagerly awaiting sordid allegations against Tim Walz today, reported by internet personality "DocNetYoutube." But the release has already been undermined by the appearance of a cursor in a witness's key emails— suggesting DocNetYoutube wrote it himself.

Much of DocNetyoutube’s conspiracy hinges on him breaking the news ofa student who went to a concert with Walz and his wife while the couple were teachers at the same Nebraska school. The story isn’t new. The New York Times published this story in August, noting that after the anonymous gay student confided in them, the couple took them to anIndigo Girls concert, a rare queer-friendly event in the area.

But on Sunday, the MAGA conspiratorial account tried to claim that the media was “trying to get out in front of this story,” instead of acknowledging that he was publishing old news. The internet personality claimed to have a “statement from the victim” to prove the legitimacy of the posts. The anonymous statement noted that Walz has a Chinese symbol tattooed on his upper thigh. “I remember he explained to me what it meant, but I do not recall at this time,” the supposed student wrote in the statement. In the comments on X, MAGA users quickly spun out about whether Walz could have gotten that tattoo laser removed or could have done a skin graft procedure. Very normal stuff.

Baselessly calling Walz a groomer is nothing new. Laura Loomer has previously spread similarly vague allegations against Walz. “There’s a reason why he shakes his wife’s hand and panders to the gay community, and it’s not because he’s awkward.… It will all come out,” she wrote on X in August, citing no evidence.

Several X-verified QAnon accounts have also spread the claims far and wide, boosted by Elon Musk’s algorithm. Earlier this month, the pro-QAnon podcast “RedPill78” interviewed an anonymous man who alleged he was a former foreign exchange student at Walz’s high school who was inappropriately touched by the Democrat.

Previously, terminally online Republicans also tried to push the narrative that Walz was grooming children by being the faculty adviser of the newly formed Gay-Straight Alliance at his Minnesota school. In reality, queer students appreciated his support. “It was important to have a person who was so well-liked on campus, a football coach who had served in the military,” one former student at the school told The New York Times. “Having Tim Walz as the adviser of the Gay-Straight Alliance made me feel safe coming to school.”

Since that talking point didn’t stick, it appears they had to escalate. Of course credible assault allegations should always be taken seriously. But if Republicans don’t want to vote for someone who has touched someone inappropriately, perhapsthey shouldn’t vote for the convicted rapist.

Lack of work

For plagiarism examiners Weber, in any case, a further step in his project, with which he opened up a branch of the company – in addition to his teaching and his publications (The Google Copy Paste Syndrome) – by documenting dishonest scientific work. Professors, vocational school teachers, civil servants, journalists and politicians are among his study objects.
