January 20th cannot come fast enough! Everybody, even those that initially opposed a Victory by President Donald J. Trump and the Trump Administration, just want it to happen. It is my obligation to protect the People of our Country but, before we even begin, we have to think of the Inauguration itself. The weather forecast for Washington, D.C., with the windchill factor, could take temperatures into severe record lows. There is an Arctic blast sweeping the Country. I don’t want to see people hurt, or injured, in any way. It is dangerous conditions for the tens of thousands of Law Enforcement, First Responders, Police K9s and even horses, and hundreds of thousands of supporters that will be outside for many hours on the 20th (In any event, if you decide to come, dress warmly!).

Therefore, I have ordered the Inauguration Address, in addition to prayers and other speeches, to be delivered in the United States Capitol Rotunda, as was used by Ronald Reagan in 1985, also because of very cold weather. The various Dignitaries and Guests will be brought into the Capitol. This will be a very beautiful experience for all, and especially for the large TV audience!

We will open Capital One Arena on Monday for LIVE viewing of this Historic event, and to host the Presidential Parade. I will join the crowd at Capital One, after my Swearing In.

All other events will remain the same, including the Victory Rally at Capital One Arena, on Sunday at 3 P.M. (Doors open at 1 P.M.—Please arrive early!), and all three Inaugural Balls on Monday evening.

Everyone will be safe, everyone will be happy, and we will, together, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

Here is the problem for TikTok:

The penalties are against ANY service provider that works with TikTok in the United States -this includes Oracle, Emails, Servers, electrical companies, app stores, domain registrars… literally every and all setvices.

The only penalty is $5,000usd PER user of the app. With 200,000,000 users that billions of dollars in fines.

Okay. So Biden says he won't enforce the penalties, but if you're a service provider to TikTok are you going to take his word for it? Considering that the penalties are retroactive to the date it goes into affect.

It remains to be seen what will happen, because Trump will be inaugurated the day after the ban is set to take affect -and TikTok CEO will be present at the inauguration.

Sierra Space satellite passes milestone in Space Force program

A navigation satellite designed by Sierra Space for the U.S. Space Force has cleared an early review, the company announced Jan. 16,

Sierra Space, based in Colorado, is one of four companies selected for the Resilient Global Positioning System (R-GPS) program, aimed at bolstering the existing GPS satellite constellation with a fleet of smaller and more affordable satellites.

The other competitors are Astranis, Axient and L3Harris.

The Space Force plans to select up to two companies in 2026 to produce eight satellites, scheduled for launch by 2028.

These satellites will augment the 31-satellite GPS constellation currently in orbit, with the goal of ensuring global navigation coverage amid concerns about potential threats to space assets from rival nations.

Sierra Space said its R-GPS design successfully passed a “system requirements review” that determines if a satellite’s technical and operational specifications align with the program’s goals.

Erik Daehler, vice president of defense, satellites, and spacecraft systems at Sierra Space, said passing this milestone gives the company confidence as the program moves forward.

“We look forward to the next phase of our R-GPS program and getting our satellite technology into orbit,” Daehler said.

The R-GPS program was launched under an expedited “Quick Start” authority granted by Congress, which allows the Department of Defense to fast-track high-priority initiatives.

Spearheaded by outgoing Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall, the program aims to deploy smaller satellites with fewer payloads to supplement the traditional GPS satellites built by Lockheed Martin, which carry a $500 million price tag.

R-GPS satellites are expected to cost between $50 million and $80 million each. The program could eventually expand to a total of 24 satellites.

Sierra Space is seeking to ramp up its military satellite business.

Beyond its R-GPS involvement, the company is fulfilling a contract for missile-tracking satellites as part of the Space Development Agency’s Tranche 2 Tracking Layer.

The company has invested in a 60,000-square-foot production facility designed to support high-volume satellite manufacturing.

Planet hires former Space Force chief to its board amid defense push

San Francisco-based satellite imaging company Planet has appointed retired U.S. Space Force General John “Jay” Raymond to its board of directors, as the company seeks to expand its footprint in the defense and intelligence markets.

Raymond, who served as the first Chief of Space Operations for the U.S. Space Force and is currently a senior managing director at private equity firm Cerberus, brings extensive military space expertise to Planet as it competes with established players like Maxar Intelligence and BlackSky for government contracts.

Planet operates one of the world’s largest commercial satellite constellations, with over 200 Earth observation satellites providing daily global coverage.

The company combines this imaging capability with artificial intelligence-driven analytics to provide insights to customers.

“Timely, high-resolution satellite imagery is now more critical than ever to help combat the world’s most pressing issues, from natural disasters to geopolitical conflict,” Raymond said in a statement Jan. 16.

Eyes on defense market

The appointment comes as Planet eyes a more aggressive push in the defense market.

During a December earnings call, CEO Will Marshall disclosed a new seven-figure Defense Department pilot program contract in the third quarter of fiscal 2024, marking the company’s third such pilot.

These programs allow government users to test Planet’s imagery and analytics capabilities, though Marshall emphasized the company’s focus on converting these short-term pilots into longer operational contracts.

Planet is also adapting its technology strategy to better serve defense customers.

Marshall revealed plans to potentially deploy its next-generation Pelican high-resolution imaging satellites in both sun-synchronous and mid-inclination orbits.

This dual-orbit approach, similar to competitor Maxar’s WorldView Legion constellation, would enhance coverage of populated areas between approximately 45 degrees north and south of the equator.

Earth observation satellites typically operate in sun-synchronous orbits, passing over any given point on Earth at the same local solar time each day. This consistency helps in monitoring changes over time.

Mid-inclination orbits, while covering a smaller area of Earth, provide more frequent passes over heavily populated middle latitudes, making them valuable for defense and intelligence applications.

Marshall expressed optimism about growth opportunities under the incoming administration, citing potential alignment between Planet’s capabilities and the administration’s focus on leveraging commercial technologies.

Sweden unveils drone swarm to be paired with ground troops

Sweden has unveiled a cluster of swarming aerial drones envisioned to equip ground and air units of the Swedish Armed Forces for intelligence and surveillance applications.

The project was announced by Swedish Minister for Defense Pal Jonson during a Jan. 15 press conference.

In a demonstration video shared with Defense News, a formation of 10 quadcopters is seen taking off and relaying footage of their flight trajectory above snowy forests to ground operators.

A Swedish voice-over explains that the drones’ high-resolution imagery and artificial intelligence-driven analyses enable commanders to have immediate and actionable insights for faster decision-making – military lingo describing the advantage of having flying eyes and ears for securing a perimeter.

The initiative has involved the participation of the Swedish aerospace company Saab in cooperation with the Swedish military, the Swedish Defense Material Administration and the Swedish Defense Research Agency.

While Saab does not provide the drones themselves, for now, it worked alongside the other agencies to design a software for their command and control.

“The individual UAVs in the swarm are equipped with different capabilities, such as varying sensors, payload, and communication capacities – the swarms are controlled by a single operator who can assign … tasks to one or more swarms, for instance via a mobile phone,” a Saab spokesperson told Defense News in an email statement.

The Saab representative added that the drone swarm technology was developed in “a very short period,” and that additional NATO countries have already expressed interest in it.

The Scandinavian country borders the Baltic Sea, where NATO recently launched a maritime patrol mission, following a series of sabotage incidents against underwater infrastructure.

The interest in drone swarms is not new, as militaries around the world have examined both the opportunities and threats they present.

In a recent publication for the U.S.-based Atlantic Council think-tank, the head of the Ukrainian defense-technology hub Brave1 listed drone swarms as a top priority for Kyiv in 2025.

“Ukrainian drone units are already moving beyond the initial concept of one drone, one operator and looking to transition towards drone swarms this year,” she wrote.

A key challenge swarms have presented is that they are typically composed of relatively small, short-range drones, which implies that their flight time is highly limited to around 30 minutes.

I'm a little late posting the deltas because I had an emergency this morning, said a quick prayer in the moment, and then witnessed yet another miracle by God, Himself, in real time. I think it might be useful to share because, in these dangerous and unpredictable times, I think it's worth remembering that the one thing that is predictable is that God is with us, and we can always call on the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to get through challenges.

I'm late today because as I was taking my dogs out early this morning, my deaf dog got loose before I could clip her to her tether. Calling her back didn't work because she's deaf, so she started off in the yard and I had to catch her.

I picked her up, but she unexpectedly squirmed with such force and strength that she fell out of my arms, landing on the cold, hard ground with a shriek. I was stunned, because I've had this rescue dog for years and she's never squirmed out of my hold like this.

This was a shock. I felt so bad, but I had no idea she would squirm to get away because she's never done that.

After the dog landed on the ground she lay still. I thought she might have broken her left front leg, and I also noticed that her nose was bleeding. Worst of all, she was crying.

These dogs are my family, so I was devastated.

I brought her inside and did the only thing I could: I prayed out loud JESUS, BE WITH ME, and asked God to completely heal this dog.

JESUS, BE WITH ME.

Instantly, the bleeding from her face stopped. The blood disappeared off my dog’s face and nose without me doing a thing. There was still drops of her blood on the porch floor, but nothing on her little face. Like a miracle.

Also, my dog immediately stopped crying. She stopped shaking, stood up, and shook herself off, like she does when she emerges from our pool or the tub or the water where she often goes swimming. She walked through the kitchen, jumped up onto her chair, and ate two small cans of dog food like nothing happened. Then she drank some milk, and now she's here in my office waiting for me to get back to work, like it's just another ordinary day.

So the deltas were delayed, my work's been delayed, but God gave me a time out today to remind me that He's always here with us and even with the pets and others we love and need in our daily lives as we do our work for Him.

I'm blown away at my dog’s instant recovery, but not really, because it’s just proof of God's hand in the work that we are doing, the work Q, Q+, and all Anons have done and shall continue to do, and everything going on right now here on this Board, in the United States Capitol, and all over the world.

Just writing this gives me chills, and since there are no deltas to consider, I thought I'd share this testimony of the power of our God who is the driving force behind all our good work.

Keep up the fight, fight, fight, and I will too.

Drone crash injures one person in northern Duhok

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - One person was injured when an unidentified drone fell from the sky in the Amedi district of northern Duhok province, a local source told Rudaw.

“As the result of the drone crash, a 25-year-old man, Wahbi Sadiq, was injured and is currently being treated at Amedi hospital,” Karzan Mahdi, from Deraluk subdistrict in Amedi, told Rudaw's Ayub Nasri.

“We do not know who the drone belongs to but there is ongoing conflict between the Turkish army and the PKK in the area,” he added, referring to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

Footage obtained by Rudaw English shows the moment of an explosion in an open area where many people are present.

Turkey often targets locations within Duhok’s borders claiming to strike PKK positions.

Numerous villages have been vacated and many villagers are not allowed to visit their orchards in these areas.

Biden Unilaterally Declares Changes To The US Constitution With Two Days Left In Office

President Joe Biden released a statement Friday declaring that the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) “has become part of our Constitution.”

Biden asserted that as of 2020, 38 states have ratified the amendment and stated it should now be recognized as “the law of the land,” according to a White House press release. The amendment is meant to ensure equal rights for men and women in the U.S., but some interpretations of the text have implied it would erase gender distinctions and grant abortion protections.

“The American Bar Association (ABA) has recognized that the Equal Rights Amendment has cleared all necessary hurdles to be formally added to the Constitution as the 28th Amendment,” the White House statement reads. “I agree with the ABA and with leading legal constitutional scholars that the Equal Rights Amendment has become part of our Constitution.”

“As Archivist and Deputy Archivist of the United States, it is our responsibility to uphold the integrity of the constitutional amendment process and ensure that changes to the Constitution are carried out in accordance with the law,” Archivist of the United States Dr. Colleen Shogan and Deputy Archivist William J. Bosanko said in a statement in Dec. 2024. “At this time, the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) cannot be certified as part of the Constitution due to established legal, judicial, and procedural decisions.”

The National Archives informed the Daily Caller News Foundation that this remains their position and that “the underlying legal and procedural issues have not changed.”

“Equality is a fundamental promise of our democracy,” Vice President Kamala Harris wrote in a statement Friday. “That is why the Equal Rights Amendment belongs in our Constitution. It makes our nation stronger, and it is the law of the land because the American people have spoken in states across our nation.”

The amendment was passed by Congress in 1972 but failed to be ratified by the required three-quarters of states within the seven-year deadline.

Biden’s announcement was released as the president has only two full days remaining in office.

Former Democratic Missouri Rep. Cori Bush and Democratic Massachusetts Rep. Ayanna Pressley revived the push for the amendment in 2023, stating its necessity due to “Women and LGBTQ folks facing daily sexism, pregnancy discrimination, pay inequity, sexual violence, and persistent legislative attacks on our bodily autonomy.”

The ERA could potentially eliminate single-sex spaces — such as bathrooms and locker rooms — as it does not define “sex” and could be interpreted to include gender identity.

Biden previously tried to rewrite of Title IX to include protections for “gender identity,” though this rule was ultimately shot down by a federal court in January and later revoked by the administration.

The White House did not immediately respond to the DCNF’s request for comment.

China’s invention turns small drone into stadium-sized UFO on radar to fool enemies

A team of scientists in China worked on a significant innovation that can be used to fool the country’s enemies during wars.

The team claims that its latest innovation can turn a drone with radar reflector – roughly the size of an iPad tablet – into an unidentified flying object (UFO) as big as a sports stadium on radars.

This is aimed at fooling enemy radar operators during wars and strengthen China’s position in electronic warfare technology.

Earlier, military researchers have focused on developing modern stealth technology to hide its flying objects from enemy radars.

However, the latest Chinese innovation can be effectively used to divert enemies and waste their crucial time during military conflicts.

Giant flying saucer in mid-air shows on radar

The latest study, published in Chinese-language journal Radar Science and Technology, maintains that tablets would appear on radar suddenly looking similar to a giant flying saucer in mid-air will shock enemy radar operators.

Researchers created a radar cross-section (RCS) – the echo produced by a target’s power output – for the tablet measuring 5,240 square metres (56,400 sq ft).

By powering up the radar reflector as it was carried by a drone, the researchers found it could “significantly increase RCS to mask the characteristics of real targets, effectively achieving tactical goals such as anti-reconnaissance and anti-attack”, reported SCMP.

Chen Qiang, associate researcher at the National University of Defence Technology’s School of Electronic Science and Technology who led the research team, stated that the effect was achieved with “unprecedented efficiency”.

Scientists conducted various military tests of the prototype, which showed that it can effectively enhance and reflect electromagnetic waves coming from different directions.

Device displayed impressive performance when operating in the X-band

Researchers maintained that the device displayed a particularly impressive performance when operating in the X-band, which is commonly used for weapons control and target tracking.

They claimed that the method only requires powering the amplification module, eliminating the need for the generation and analysis of electromagnetic signals, thus offering the advantages of miniaturization and scalability, reported SCMP.

Innovation inspired by a patent filed in 1959

A patent filed in 1959 by Lester C. Van Atta, a radar expert at what was then the Hughes Aircraft Company, inspired the latest innovation.

Van Atta introduced a unique array antenna, designed to ensure that the waveform and path of incident coincided perfectly with the reflected waves.

To work, the array’s aperture needed to be much bigger, which is why the idea stayed on paper for 60 years.

By applying an electrical current to the Van Atta array, the Chinese scientists were able to significantly enhance the device’s RCS-boosting capabilities, according to the researchers.

‘Unbreakable Bond’: Britain and Ukraine to Sign 100-Year Alliance

The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom spoke of an “unbreakable bond” with Ukraine as he made an unannounced visit to Kyiv to sign a surprise 100-year military and economic treaty with Kyiv.

Sir Keir Starmer is making his first visit to Ukraine since becoming Prime Minister some six months ago on Thursday, announcing his travel with the obligatory train journey photographs made necessary by the war-imposed no-fly zone. In a statement ahead of his meetings with Volodymyr Zelensky, Starmer announced he is planning to sign a 100-year treaty today, hailed as a “historic 100 Year Partnership to continue to support Ukraine now and invest in our two countries for the future” which formalises an “unbreakable bond” between the two nations.

The Prime Minister called Russia’s war a “monumental strategic failure” as it had pushed Ukraine and Western nations like the United Kingdom “closer than ever”, and prompted them to take their friendship “to the next level”. Starmer claimed: “Through this partnership, we are creating a strong economy that works for the British people, a safe country that protects our interests at home and abroad, and a prosperous society.”

The government statement on the treaty states it will encompass defence and civilian areas including trade and cultural links including “scientific and technology partnerships, in areas such as healthcare and disease, agri-tech, space and drones… It also cements the UK as a preferred partner for Ukraine’s energy sector, critical minerals strategy and green steel production.”.

On the military side, the Anglo-Ukrainian treaty appears to be preoccupied with maritime security — which was already a major feature of the relationship between the two countries before Russia’s 2022 re-invasion — with mention of the Baltic, Black Sea, and Sea of Azov.

The actual content of the treaty and the political declaration that comes with it will be debating in the UK Parliament in the coming weeks, the government said.

Starmer shackling the United Kingdom to Ukraine for a century has been widely interpreted in the British press as a message to Donald Trump just days before the inauguration. In defiance of Trump’s determination to bring peace to the region quickly, the United Kingdom — as well as several other European states — makes much of its determination to keep Ukraine fighting.

The Times states as well as the treaty, Starmer is expected to announce a new tranche of funding to Kyiv today worth £40 million ($49m), while The Guardian states the possibility of the United Kingdom deploying troops to Ukraine itself as part of a multinational peacekeeping force intended to deter future Russian aggression. Israeli Strikes Kill at Least 87 Palestinians in Gaza Since Ceasefire Deal Announced

Among the dead are 21 children and 25 women

Israeli strikes on Gaza have been relentless since it was announced on Wednesday that Israel and Hamas had reached a ceasefire deal, which is expected to take effect on Sunday.

Al Jazeera reported that as of Thursday night in Gaza, at least 87 Palestinians had been killed since the ceasefire was announced, including 21 children and 25 women. At least 40 of the dead were killed since dawn on Thursday.

Israeli attacks on Thursday included heavy bombing in northern Gaza. In Jabalia, at least 20 Palestinians were killed by Israeli strikes. Israeli strikes also pounded Gaza City, including an attack that hit a school-turned-shelter and killed at least two children.

Venus and Saturn will appear extraordinarily close together in the night sky tonight during a celestial event known as a conjunction.

To see Venus and Saturn, look to the southwest immediately as the sun sets. Venus will be bright an unmistakable, shining at its best as an "evening star" throughout the month.

Saturn, nearby, will become visible to the naked eye as dusk fades to darkness and remain observable for around three-and-a-half hours past sunset, at which point the pair will sink below the horizon and out of view.

The two planets will pass within about two degrees of each other tonight (your clenched fist held at arm's length covers about 10 degrees of sky).

Two days after their close approach tonight, also known as an appulse, the two planets will enter a celestial arrangement that astronomers call a conjunction.

This means that when viewed from Earth the two bodies share the same right ascension, which is the astronomical equivalent of longitude in the sky.

The conjunction of Venus and Saturn will occur on Monday, Jan. 20 at 12:16 a.m. (0516 GMT), according to In-the-Sky.org.

Venus will shine brightly with a magnitude of -4.5, while Saturn will have an apparent magnitude of 1.0 (lower and/or negative numbers indicate brighter objects in the sky).

While the planets will be bright enough to be seen by the naked eye under clear, dark skies, a pair of binoculars or telescope can help viewers see the pair more clearly.

Despite their close approach, the two planets will be too widely separated to fit within the field of view of a telescope, but viewing each planet individually through a telescope could help bring out details such as Saturn's rings.

Both Venus and Saturn will be in the Aquarius constellation, the water bearer, during their close approach.

To help spot it, viewers should look towards the south in the evening sky, using the bright star Fomalhaut in the nearby Piscis Austrinus constellation as a guide to locate Aquarius.

Above Fomalhaut — one of the brightest stars in the night sky — viewers can look for the fainter stars that form a Y-shaped configuration representing Aquarius' water jar.

Saturn and venus will still appear close for a few nights following their conjunction, though more widely separated.

Yemen’s Houthis To Stop Attacks on Israel If Gaza Ceasefire Is Implemented

The Houthis' leader warned there would be more attacks if Israel doesn't abide by the ceasefire deal

Yemen’s Houthis are expected to stop their attacks on Israel and Red Sea shipping if Israel upholds its end of the Gaza ceasefire deal it has reached with Hamas.

The Houthis, officially known as Ansar Allah, began their attacks in 2023 in response to the US-backed Israeli onslaught in Gaza. The US began a bombing campaign against the Yemeni group in January 2024, but it has only escalated the situation.

President Biden’s special envoy to Yemen, Tim Lenderking, has previously acknowledged that the Houthis would likely stop their attacks if there were a ceasefire in Gaza.

On Thursday, Houthi leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi said Ansar Allah would monitor the ceasefire, which is expected to take effect on Sunday, and warned there would be more attacks if Israel didn’t follow the deal.

“We will continue to monitor developments in Palestine during the three days prior to the entry into force of the Gaza agreement. If the Israeli massacres continue, we will continue our operations,” al-Houthi said.

“At any stage in which the aggression retreats from the agreement, we will be ready to provide military support to our Palestinian brothers,” al-Houthi added.

Al-Houthis comments signaled that Yemeni attacks on Israel could continue until the ceasefire is implemented since Israel has continued to bomb Gaza. In recent weeks, the Houthis have stepped up missile attacks on Israel, with some making it past air defenses. Israel has responded with heavy airstrikes on Yemen, which have only hit civilian targets.

Al-Houthi vowed Yemen would not back in the face of further attacks. He said Ansar Allah will “confront any aggression, whether by the Israelis, the Americans, or their allies, or any attempts to divert our country from its liberated jihadist path.”

NGOs continue to fuel mass migration to U.S. border, despite Trump’s planned crackdown

As President-elect Donald Trump prepares to implement sweeping changes to U.S. immigration policy, a sprawling network of United Nations-affiliated and independent nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) is doubling down on efforts to support mass migration to the U.S. southern border – using billions in American taxpayer dollars.

The UN’s 2025-2026 Regional Refugee and Migrant Response Plan (RMRP), released shortly after Trump’s reelection, outlines a $1.4 billion budget to assist 2.3 million foreign nationals moving through 17 Latin American countries toward the U.S. border. The plan, spearheaded by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), includes funding for cash assistance, food, shelter, transportation and legal services for migrants.

The U.S. is the largest contributor to these UN agencies, providing $1.9 billion to the UNHCR in 2023 alone – a staggering increase from $377 million in 2019. Critics argue that this funding has inadvertently fueled the largest illegal immigration surge in U.S. history, which The New York Times recently attributed to President Joe Biden’s “welcoming immigration policy.”

Billions in U.S. taxpayer dollars fund migration support

The RMRP document details how U.S. taxpayer dollars will be used to support migrants en route to the U.S. border. In 2025, $259 million is earmarked for “cash, voucher assistance and multi-purpose cash assistance” to 390,000 individuals, distributed via rechargeable debit cards, bank transfers and mobile payments. Another $134 million will provide food for 851,600 people, while $297 million will fund shelter for 735,000 migrants, including hotels and long-term rentals.

The plan also allocates $13.5 million for “humanitarian transportation” and $150 million for health services, among other expenditures. These funds are intended to sustain migrants as they traverse dangerous routes, such as the Darien Gap between Colombia and Panama, where migration flows have already dropped by 40% in anticipation of Trump’s stricter policies.

The RMRP initiative began in 2019 to address the exodus of Venezuelans fleeing their collapsing economy. However, the program has since expanded to support migrants of “other nationalities…engaging in transit and onward movements” to the U.S. southern border.

Legal and propaganda efforts aim to counter U.S. border policies

The RMRP document also reveals plans to allocate $204 million for “protection” services, including legal assistance and counseling to counter “restrictive and security-focused approaches” to migration. This funding will support efforts to challenge deportations, detentions and returns to countries deemed unsafe by migrant advocates.

Eduardo Stein, the UN’s Joint Special Representative for Venezuelan Refugees and Migrants, emphasized the need to “change the narrative” around migration in the document’s introduction. “It is essential to…keep striving for bringing to the fore the positive narrative of the contributions [migrants] can provide to receiving communities,” Stein wrote.

Critics argue that these efforts are designed to undermine Trump’s planned border crackdown, which includes a “detain-and-expel” policy to replace Biden’s “catch-and-release” approach. By sustaining migrants in third countries, the UN and NGOs may be positioning themselves to facilitate future migration surges if Trump’s policies falter or a more immigration-friendly administration takes office.

However, Hersh and five other Israeli hostages were eventually murdered by Hamas terrorists in late August. His mother Rachel delivered emotional remarks during her son’s funeral in Jerusalem in early September.

“Hersh wasn't perfect, but he was the perfect son for me. I am grateful to God. For 23 years I had the privilege of being Hersh's mother, even though I wanted it to be for longer,” Mrs. Goldberg-Polin said.

General Atomics Pitches Drone Launch System for US and Allied Warships

General Atomics unveiled concepts for the installation of a new drone launch system on a variety of vessels, including the Royal Navy’s Daring-class (Type 45) destroyer and U.S. Navy’s Expeditionary Sea Base.

The company claims the “Electric Launch System for Unmanned Aircraft” is part of a broader effort to support the launching of drones in constrained environments both on land and at sea.

“As you know, with the proliferation of RPAS [Remotely Piloted Aircraft System] worldwide, whether on land or sea, we’ve been asked to look at the launch of RPAS in very small footprint from Navy vessels.

It’s been looked at primarily Europe right now. Possibly over in the Indo-Pacific area too,” Gary Hopper, Vice President of Strategic Development at General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems told Naval News.

The company stressed that the concepts shown on the show floor of the annual Surface Navy Association symposium were “entirely different” from the company’s Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System seen on the Ford-class aircraft carriers and the future French Navy PANG.

According to Hopper, the concept prioritizes the launching of unmanned systems compared to the fighter and support aircraft launched from carriers.

Compared to EMALS, the drone launcher requires a minimal footprint on a vessel. Company graphics claim that the launcher only needs a 4 foot by 2 foot installation area.

“It doesn’t have the same redundancy, same requirements you have for manned flight. So it’s a lot simpler system that (can be) put on, possibly some the British carriers or other vessels,” said Hopper.

Installation proposals on the Royal Navy’s Queen Elizabeth-class and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force’s Izumo-class carriers were also displayed.

In addition, a rendering for a ground-based system in support of expeditionary missions was highlighted.

Electromagnetic Systems also confirmed that Aeronautical Systems, a sister company, is examining this concept for the deployment of its Collaborative Combat Aircraft from land-based airfields.

Hopper noted that further designs were being examined by the company for other countries within the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and characterized the broader effort as an initiative by the alliance to get unmanned aerial systems onto vessels beyond aircraft carriers.

“There are other we’re looking at some other examples, other NATO countries. I’d say it’s more of a NATO initiative to look at putting it on aircraft.

So we use that particular vessel, but there are other vessels out there, again, similar, similar size. In fact, we’re talking about takeoff distance of 22 meters, not very long at all,” said Hopper.

General Atomics performed tests of its drones of HMS Prince of Wales (R09) and ROKS Dokdo (LPH-6111) in 2023 and 2024 respectively.

The company told Naval News that it is working on a “very unique recovery plan” given the lack of space on surface combatants and support vessels to receive the drones.

6 Chabad tunnel defendants plead guilty

The judge also scolded the defendants in the courtroom.

Six men who were arrested in an attempt to dig a tunnel into the Brooklyn headquarters of the Chabad Hasidic movement accepted plea deals on Monday, while four others opted to go to trial.

The guilty pleas were the latest stage in the Chabad tunnel saga, which burst into view one year ago when a fracas broke out at a synagogue in the Chabad-Lubavitch world headquarters at 770 Eastern Parkway. A group of men broke down a wall at the synagogue as part of an attempt to tunnel into the building, part of a bid to expand the headquarters. Investigators found that the tunnel stretched 60 feet.

The incident gained international attention and led to more than a dozen arrests and citations, while 770 was closed for days out of structural integrity concerns. Chabad leadership denounced the tunnelers as a fringe group.

On Monday, six defendants accepted reduced charges of criminal mischief and agreed to pay $200 as well as refrain from any construction work or alterations at 770 for three years, according to the New York Post. If they violate the terms of the plea deal they face a five-year ban from 770, which served as the office of Chabad’s late leader, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson.Other defendants in the case have previously pled guilty.

But four defendants on Monday opted to go to trial. They face felony criminal mischief charges and a maximum prison sentence of seven years.

The judge also scolded the defendants in the courtroom.

“This is a blemish on the Chabad movement as far as I’m concerned,” Judge Adam Perlmutter said. Presumably referring to the thousands of Chabad centers across the globe, he added, “They built buildings all over the world. It involves raising money, hiring architects, getting building permits and any rezoning as necessary. It is the only way that it gets done in this town.”

A RUSSIAN attack drone exploded inside Nato territory in a botched attack on Ukraine.

F-16 warplanes were scrambled as the assault is believed to have violated the airspace of Romania.

Footage showed a dramatic explosion believed to be on the Ukrainian side of the River Danube which forms the frontier with Romania.

But reports in Bucharest said the same wave of attacks that a Putin drone had crashed on the Romanian side.

The Russian incursion triggered the response by Nato fighters and an air raid warning to residents close to the Danube.

It comes just days after jets were scrambled on the border with Poland after a massive attack by Vlad.

Tensions remain high between Nato and Russia as the West continues to back Ukraine against Putin.

But the days are now counting down for new US President Donald Trump to take office on Monday.

He is believed to be preparing to prioritise a peace deal to try and end the bloody war which has been raging since February 2022.

Russia's latest attack came after Ukraine launched their largest strike of the wave with a clever "triple tap" wave of drones and missiles.

The Romanian defence ministry said: “At 1.35 am, two F-16 aircraft of the Romanian Air Force, part of the Air Police Combat Service, took off from the 86th Air Base in Borcea to monitor the air situation.

“The aircraft returned to base around 3.48am”. Nato officials were kept fully abreast of the suspected illegal incursion by Russia.

In a statement, the officials said: “The Ministry of National Defence sends a firm message of condemnation of these attacks carried out by the Russian Federation against Ukrainian civilian objects and infrastructure elements, which are unjustified and in serious contradiction with the norms of international law."

Putin will today be meeting with Iranian president Masoud Pezeshkian to sign a new 20 year pact between the two countries.

Iran has been key in supply drones to Russia - which have been used almost daily to pound Ukraine.

And it comes just one day after British Prime Minister Keir Starmer visited Kyiv and met with Ukraine's hero leader Volodymyr Zelensky.

Zelensky and Starmer signed a new 100-year alliance between Britain and Ukraine. The UK has been one of the biggest backers of Kyiv in the West.

The Sun exclusively revealed that British soldiers could form part of a peacekeeping force enforcing a buffer zone between Ukraine and Russia.

Starmer told us Trump is not about to pull the plug on Ukraine's war effort as key talks loom.

Speaking in Ukraine as Russian drones were shot down around him, the PM declared “nothing is off the table” in the UK’s hopes for “just and lasting” peace.

He told The Sun: “If there are to be security guarantees of some sort, the UK will play its part.”

In an interview in Kyiv, Sir Keir said he was confident Mr Trump will not walk away, saying the returning US leader — set to be sworn in next week — was “acutely aware” Russian President Vladimir Putin cannot be allowed to escape scot-free with his aggression.

But the incoming White House team has made it clear Ukraine must be “realistic” in talks over surrendering territory to Russia.

One plan could see hundreds of British and French boots on the ground patrolling a demilitarised zone between Russia and Ukraine after the past three years of bloody war following the invasion.

But both the PM and Ukraine’s Zelensky said the idea of European peacekeepers would only be acted on if it would be a credible barrier to further Russian invasions.

Sir Keir said: “It’s important that, if we get to that stage, the guarantees are capable of — and effective in — guaranteeing an enduring peace, not a pause.”

Zelensky insisted foreign troops could only be “one segment” of a peace plan — insisting Ukraine still needed full Nato membership to prevent another war.

Yesterday was Sir Keir’s seventh meeting with Mr Zelensky — and his first visit to Ukraine since gaining power last July.

Their meeting was interrupted by air raid sirens and anti-aircraft fire as an unmanned Kremlin reconnaissance craft flew above the presidential palace.

Drones spotted over Long Island airport

(NewsNation) — Repeated drone sightings over a Long Island airport have prompted local law enforcement officials to turn to technology to determine who may be behind the mysterious objects.

Officials have reported an unusually high number of drone sightings near Francis Gabreski Airport in Suffolk County in recent weeks.

The sightings have taken place in highly sensitive areas, including over runways and in restricted air space.

That has prompted investigators to turn to Dedrone, a highly sophisticated detection system that uses radar, cameras and artificial intelligence to pinpoint drones in real time.

Officials from the airport and the Air National Guard told NewsNation some of the drone sightings involved objects as large as cars. On Christmas Day, officials reported 17 different sightings at the airport.

Russian oil depot burns for fourth day after two Ukrainian drone strikes on Engels

In the Russian city of Engels, Saratov Oblast, the oil depot at the Kristal plant has been burning for the fourth day after a second strike by Ukrainian drones, according to Current Time.

On 8 January, Ukraine’s General Staff confirmed that the Ukrainian Defense Forces had targeted the oil storage facility at the Kristal plant in Engels.

On 14 January, the 14th separate drone aviation regiment of Ukraine’s Armed Forces launched a second strike on the Engels-2 military airfield, hitting the oil depot once again.

Governor Roman Busargin states that the fire’s area has “significantly decreased” and that “specialized services and experts continue to work at the site to extinguish the fire.”

The fire response resulted in the deaths of two Ministry of Emergency Situations employees, with another hospitalized.

A state of emergency has been declared in the city, and local residents complain about the heavy smoke, although Busargin denied any air pollution.

According to reports, the attacks and the subsequent ongoing fire destroyed three fuel tanks and damaged six others, disabling a storage capacity of nearly 800,000 tons.

The Ukrainian General Staff noted that the strike created significant logistics problems for the Russian army and substantially reduced its capability to conduct strikes against Ukrainian cities and civilian objects.

Rare 'UFO clouds' spotted in UK skies

Skygazers in northern parts of the UK have been reporting otherworldly goings on taking place overhead.

What has been observed may look like flying saucers but they are actually lenticular clouds, also referred to by some as pancake or UFO clouds.

At their most spectacular around sunrise or sunset when illuminated by the low sun, they need the right weather patterns to make an appearance and are not especially common in the UK.

What are lenticular clouds?

The meteorological name for the clouds is altocumulus lenticularis. Lenticularis is Latin for lens-shaped, which aptly describes their appearance.

For them to occur in the UK we need to be on the edge of an area of high pressure, with a brisk wind blowing at a right angle to a hill or mountain range.

With high pressure systems, a layer of slightly warmer air can occur higher up in the atmosphere that acts like an invisible ceiling.

If that 'ceiling' occurs just above the hill tops the fast-flowing air bounces downwind of the hills.

It’s in the top of those bounces where cloud can form like a cap, and you can sometimes get several of them stacked on top of one another - like pancakes.

On Thursday and Friday morning south-westerly winds meant the clouds appeared to the north-east of the Grampians, Highlands and Pennines.

Will there be more this weekend?

With high pressure still close by and a brisk wind likely in the north and west of the UK it may be possible to see more of these stunning clouds over the weekend.

Due to a slight shift in wind direction areas with the best chance will be around Moray, north Cumbria and maybe north Wales.

A 32-hour week? It could work for Congress, staff say

Progressive staffers want bosses to ‘give it a shot’

The Congressional Progressive Staff Association thinks Hill aides should be working smarter, not harder. So, in a letter to congressional leadership Thursday, the group is asking members to consider 32-hour workweeks in their offices.“By establishing a rotating 32-hour workweek for District and D.C. staff, you can help increase retention, boost productivity, and improve the quality of life for your team,” the group wrote.

The CPSA has no expectations for a sweeping policy change on the Hill; they just want a few members to experiment with a shortened workweek in their offices or committees. “We’re urging members to give it a shot, to pilot it for a six-month period,” CPSA spokesman Michael Suchecki said. “If it doesn’t work 100 percent, bring it back to the way it was.”

“I don’t expect John Thune or Hakeem Jeffries coming out tomorrow and endorsing this proposal. … Frankly, I’d be happy if they did it in five years,” Suchecki added. “Fundamentally, what we’re hoping for is that we have openness to it.”

The CPSA, which calls itself the largest Hill staff organization at roughly 1,500 members, suggests a 32-hour workweek for Hill staff when Congress is out of session, and a 32-hour workweek for district staff when members are in Washington,without any reduction in pay or benefits.

The idea of working less while still accomplishing the same as before isn’t as far-fetched as it might sound. The CPSA points to the experience of companies in the United Kingdom that trialed shortened work weeks in 2022, finding that revenue remained stable while employee burnout and stress dropped. The vast majority decided to continue the reduced schedules after the study ended.

Some Hill offices already dabble with shorter hours during slow periods. Aides for Rep. Seth Moulton, D-Mass., enjoy “August Summer Fridays,” said spokesperson Sydney Simon. “We’re proud to have a culture in our office that offers some flexibility for our staff — and that’s rooted in trust and accountability,” she said.

Last Congress, Reps. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., and Barry Moore, R-Ala., won awards from the Congressional Management Foundation for workplace culture, thanks in part to flexible schedules.

The letter also cites a bill, introduced last session by Vermont independent Bernie Sanders in the Senate and California Democrat Mark Takanoin the House, that would reduce the workweek under federal law from 40 hours to 32 hours, with overtime for workdays longer than eight hours.

By trying it themselves, Congress could demonstrate how unobtrusive a 32-hour workweek is to employers. “Members of Congress can help to advance the discussion around a more sustainable workweek as a national priority and model how it can work for private and public employers,” the letter reads.

Neither Sanders’ nor Takano’s office responded to a request for comment.

The CPSA’s push for more flexible work arrangements on Capitol Hill comes as Republicans, now in full control of Congress and about to take the White House, are preparing to restrict work-from-home policies for the rest of the federal government.

At a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing Wednesday, Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., promised that “President Trump is going to change the way Washington works and will bring accountability to the unelected federal bureaucracy.” “This includes ensuring the federal workforce is held accountable to the American people and ensuring they show up to the office for work,” he added.

Some of Donald Trump's top allies are saying aliens might be on the next administration's agenda, days before the President-elect returns to the White House.

Donald Trump Jr., former Congressman Matt Gaetz, and Representative William Timmons have all raised the possibility of a federal investigation into extraterrestrial life in the past week.

Newsweek contacted the Trump transition team for comment on this story via email.

With Senate hearings for his appointments well underway, Donald Trump's new administration is taking shape, and this week will be critical in setting the agenda for his first days in office.

Amid claims of alien cover-ups, many people want answers to recent questions around UFOs, including the November mystery drone sightings and a senate hearing that admitted testimony from military figures who believe national security is at risk.

On Thursday, Donald Trump Jr. indicated that investigations into alien life would be a focus of the new administration.

Speaking on his Triggered podcast to UAP (unidentified anomalous phenomena) expert Ross Coulthart, Trump said that the White House was "working on" investigations into UAP instances and alien life.

He also called on Elon Musk, another top ally of the president-elect, to help with any research.

"Obviously I've spent a lot more time with Elon Musk in the last few months during the transition. I've been down to see SpaceX launch and the technology that he's been able to create," Trump told Coulthart.

"I'm sure him and his top scientists are probably far more competent than anyone we have in government as it relates to propulsion systems, et cetera, et cetera," he added.

"Like I said, you know that I'm interested. It was the one, if I had one question, that was the one I wanted to know. So maybe we'll finally get to the bottom of it. I'm working on it. We're working on it. Promise."

His comments mirrored those of former Congressman Matt Gaetz, who was poised to become Trump's Attorney General before stepping down from the nomination.

In a January 16 interview on Jeremy Corbell's UFO Revolution show, Gaetz said that extraterrestrial life could become a threat to national security, saying:

"We've seen some patterns emerge that are absolutely a threat to national security, whether this is of human origin or not.

"We have members of Congress who believe not only that there are extraterrestrials on Earth, but that they have built bases, and are operating out of bases.

I have personally met with people in uniform working for the U.S. military who believe there are hybrid breeding programs going on right now.

"I've not seen evidence to suggest all these things are accurate, but when those claims arise, I get hot under the collar and we just don't get straight answers."

The increased conversation around alien activity comes amid revelations from a U.S. Air Force veteran who turned whistleblower.

In a NewsNation interview airing on Saturday, Jake Barber claims that he was contracted as a helicopter pilot to rescue crashed vehicles, some of which he believes were alien ships.

This follows hearings last year by the House Oversight Subcommittee on National Security, the Border, and Foreign Affairs, which heard from military witnesses testifying about inexplicable encounters.

At least three shared the belief that UFOs a pose a risk to national security and that no system exists for properly reporting sightings and experiences to government agencies.

Concerns over unidentified flying objects have increased after several waves of mystery drones were spotted in New England, with New Jersey officials sighting dozens of unexplained and unmanned drones flying along the coast.

The issue was raised in Congress repeatedly by lawmakers, but FBI officials were unable to explain the origin or nature of the objects, leading to several conspiracies about where they came from.

The drones were first sighted in November, with other sightings recorded throughout December.

The CPSA acknowledged the awkward timing. “I’ll be honest here: This initiative had more optimism behind it when the election was undecided,” Suchecki said. “This is something the [CPSA] board had been discussing for a long time, as something we heard calls for, both from members as well as from the left.”

Democrats have countered thatRepublicans’ focus on workforce policies have little to do with government efficiency or efficacy, but are instead just an excuse to take an ax indiscriminately to the federal workforce, pointing to Project 2025 and statements by Vivek Ramaswamy, a co-head of an informal taskforce called the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE. The length of the average workweek fell in large part thanks to the adoption of the Fair Labor Standards Act, which set the workweek at 40 hours starting in 1940.

I think most of the members on the Committee have been generally unimpressed with the responses that we've gotten.

I think the Intelligence Committee will start looking into it more, because how do you not? I mean, you know, the increased frequency and degree of sightings has created a lot of buzz."

In a November congressional hearing addressing extraterrestrials, former Department of Defense Official Luis Elizondo said: "Let me be clear: UAP are real.

Advanced technologies not made by our government—or any other government—are monitoring sensitive military installations around the globe.

Furthermore, the U.S. is in possession of UAP technologies, as are some of our adversaries.

I believe we are in the midst of a multi-decade; secretive arms race—one funded by misallocated taxpayer dollars and hidden from our elected representatives and oversight bodies."

White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby stated that many of the drones reported last year were operating legally and lawfully.

Kirby said: "We assess that the sightings to date include a combination of lawful commercial drones, hobbyist drones and law enforcement drones, as well as manned fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters and even stars that were mistakenly reported as drones."

Donald Trump will be sworn in as the next president on Monday, reentering the White House after four years out of power.

He is expected to make several drastic changes to President Joe Biden's policies on Day One of his administration.

The Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) is pushing a headymix of Prussian imperial nostalgia and a shrewd form of Euroscepticismthat catches the mood of post-globalist German voters.

Theinsurgent Right-wing party of Alice Weidel– a gay, Hayekian, Mandarin-speaking Goldman Sachs alumna, who worked for the Bank of China and wrote a paper on the Chinese pension system – is flying high as elections approach next month, reaching 22pc in the latest INSA poll.

The German media fears that the “shy voter syndrome” may understate the strength of the AfD support. If the final tally reaches the mid-20s, it could leave Germany in much the same state of political paralysis as France, unable to form a stable government on the broken rubble of the old party system.

Foreign investors have persuaded themselves that Friedrich Merz, the Christian Democrat leader, is going to win a landslide on a manifesto of free-market reform, fiscal stimulus and a blitz of investment. Germany is more likely to end up with the immobilism of another grand coalition, unable to rid itself of a social democrat dinosaur wedded to rust bowl industries and the obsolete model of the last century.
