What If There Were No Illegal Workers?

 

"Now, let’s play out the thought experiment: what happens there were no illegal workers? You’ve long heard politicians on both sides of the aisle and others insist it’s just not possible for the American economy to function without them.

 

Would the economy collapse? Would your morning coffee cost $20?

 

Not quite.

 

Many analysts agree the nation wouldn’t implode—it would adjust, as markets always do.

 

Without a steady supply of cheap, exploitable labor, some employers would face a choice: pay more to attract legal workers (and cut profits or increase prices), automate, or close.

 

In industries like agriculture, we’d likely see a mix. For example, in the absence of illegal farmworkers, growers might invest in mechanized harvesting equipment (already happening in places like California’s wine country). Some might offer competitive wages to attract American workers or legal immigrants.

 

In 2011, when Georgia cracked down on undocumented labor, some farmers struggled to find workers, but they adapted—some raised wages, others shifted to less labor-intensive crops.

 

In hospitality, we might pay more for a hotel room if cleaning staff earned legal wages. Some restaurants might charge an extra buck for your burger if kitchen workers aren’t being paid under the table. Construction costs could rise, making new homes pricier. A 2018 study from the Center for Immigration Studies estimated that a significant reduction in low-skilled immigrant labor could lead to wage increases of 2-4% for native-born workers in those sectors.

 

So some prices might creep up, but so would purchasing power for the working-class Americans who would be earning more. Higher wages could draw more Americans back into these industries. Right now, many avoid jobs because they don’t believe pay justifies the effort. If employers had to compete for legal workers, they’d have to offer better wages and conditions.

 

This isn’t speculation—it’s already happened in tight labor markets. During the Covid-19 pandemic, when unemployment was low and labor was scarce, fast-food chains like McDonald’s and Wendy’s raised wages and offered signing bonuses to attract workers."

I posted this at the heel of the last bread. I'll post it here one more time then shut up about it;

 

It occured to me after skimming the Epstein discussion that the White Hats might be playing the list members. Put them under control by making them believe they are being sheltered from the public for the greater good of the gov't, pull a 180 on official disclosure, and then wait for the outcry by an angered public (and more importantly the MAGA base).

 

For Trump to be politically effective through the end of his term, he's going to have to stack MAGA in Congress and get rid of the Country Club RINOs. What better way than to let the pressure cooker of public opinion build until Midterms and then leverage the List for everything it's worth, both politcally and judicially? Just a thought. SpaceX launches 28 Starlink satellites from Cape Canaveral

SpaceX launched 28 more Starlink satellites for its low Earth orbit constellation on Tuesday (July 8).

A Falcon 9 rocket lifted off with the broadband internet units (Group 10-28) at 4:21 a.m. EDT (0821 GMT) from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

About nine minutes later, the satellites reached space and, 50 minutes after that, were deployed into orbit.

"Deployment of 28 Starlink satellites confirmed," SpaceX announced on the X social media network.

 

In the interim, the Falcon 9 rocket's first stage (Booster 1077) completed its 22nd flight to and from space, landing on the droneship "A Shortfall of Gravitas" in the Atlantic Ocean.

SpaceX's Starlink network provides broadband internet access to areas across the globe where other types of coverage is unavailable or is disabled.

Through a partnership with T-Mobile, it has also started providing direct to cell service, which SpaceX has enabled for the flash flooded areas in Texas.

"In support of those impacted by flooding in Texas, Starlink is providing Mini kits for search and rescue efforts – ensuring connectivity even in dead zones – and one month of free service for thousands of customers in the region, including those who paused service so they can reactivate Starlink during this time," the company wrote on X.

 

"The Starlink team and T-Mobile have also enabled basic texting (SMS) through our Direct to Cell satellites for T-Mobile customers in the areas impacted by flooding in Texas.

This includes Kerr County, Kendall County, Llano County, Travis County and Comal County.

Additionally, anyone in the impacted areas with a compatible smartphone will be able to receive emergency alerts from public safety authorities," Space wrote.

I also have a feeling that the "further elaboration" referenced in this post will soon come, in order to clarify all the craziness that we have been witnessing and experiencing over the last number of decades.

I have a feeling the public will get an education about how The United States Constitution was designed to save this country from the evil traitors and foreign actors among us, and things will be explained so clearly that the bad guys will be forever crippled.

One neat thing about what I believe is happening: the corrupt system about which President Trump taught us, years ago (in the video I'm posting), took the bad guys DECADES to create, and [THEY] did so clandestinely, behind the scenes, furtively, and covertly.

[THEY] lied to the American public so brazenly and almost wiped us out.

Over those many decades [THEY] put together the best scheme they could, based on input from "elites" working at the "best" institutions in the world (i.e., Clown Factories operating for the benefit of the most worthless families known to ever exist).

And now, in one fell swoop, it'll all be destroyed by President Trump and patriots, and exposed so that [THEIR] "best" laid plans cannot ever, ever be recreated again.

Chinese-born man takes plea deal after using drone to take 200 photos of Space Force station

A plea deal releases new details into the case.

A Chinese-born Canadian citizen said he was flying his drone in January to photograph sunrises and nature on the coast. But according to new court documents, Xiao Guang Pan took more than 250 videos and photos of Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS).

Federal authorities found footage that captured a submarine wharf, munitions bunkers, a payload processing facility, security checkpoints and more.

 

Pan is now pleading guilty to three counts of using an aircraft for the unlawful photographing of a defense installation without authorization, according to his plea agreement filed last month in U.S. District Court that releases new details in the federal case.

Each count carries a maximum sentence of one year of prison and a $100,000 fine, according to federal court records.

His sentencing hearing is scheduled for Oct. 1 in Orlando.

 

The 71-year-old, who was born in China, had been visiting the United States on a tourist visa.

Pan was out on the coast shooting pictures with his drone from a parking lot at Port Canaveral when he captured the attention of authorities.

The military facility used for U.S. Department of Defense and defense contractors’ space launches is also home to U.S. Navy submarine wharfs operated by the Naval Ordnance Test Unit, according to federal court records.

 

Federal authorities searched Pan’s footage and determined that he had flown his DJI Mavic Pro 3 nine times and taken nearly 2,000 photos and videos between Jan. 5 and 7.

“Of those photos and videos, 243 photographs and 13 videos showed military infrastructure at Canaveral Space Force Station,” his plea agreement said.

For instance, according to court records, Pan took two videos and 21 photos Jan. 5 of the military installation from several miles away using a telephoto lens.

Some of the photos “depicted a Space Launch Complex and payload processing facilities operated by two defense contractors,” his plea agreement said.

 

The following day, Pan moved several miles closer and continued documenting the space force station, taking nine more videos and 166 photographs, according to court documents.

“These photographs and videos captured the same military infrastructure as on January 5 in higher quality and from different angles,” his plea agreement said.

By Jan. 7, the day he was caught by law enforcement, he had launched his drone “from Class D controlled airspace, just outside the CCSFS restricted airspace border, without receiving FAA approval,” the plea agreement said.

 

“During this flight, Pan captured images and videos of roads, power distribution infrastructure, security checkpoints, mission control infrastructure, national security space launch infrastructure, fuel and munitions storage, and naval infrastructure within CCSFS.”

Pan denied seeing any launch pads and said he did not know he was near a military facility. He also argued his drone hadn’t sent him warnings or alerts when he was flying it.

But the evidence proved otherwise, according to court records.

 

Investigators found screenshots on Pan’s cellphone of Google Maps satellite images of Cape Canaveral from where his drone took off. The screenshots prominently displayed the words “Cape Canaveral Space Force Station,” the plea agreement said.

Recovering the drone’s flight data also proved that Pan had indeed received messages and alerts about the airspace violations, the plea agreement said.

The new court records also raise questions about the complexity of the case.

 

“The above is merely a summary of some of the events, some of the persons involved, and other information relating to this case. It does not include, nor is it intended to include, all the events, persons involved, or other information relating to this case,” the plea agreement said.

Federal prosecutors did not respond to a request for comment on whether more people are going to be charged. After the criminal charges were filed, Pan was released because he asked the courts for permission to travel back home to Ontario for medical treatment.

Pan has coronary artery disease and a history of diabetes and other medical issues, according to a court filing.

 

Pan’s Instagram account describes him as a “licensed drone pilot” and shows aerial pictures of lakes, nature and urban areas.

Pan’s defense attorney and prosecutors from Middle District of Florida did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the plea deal Tuesday.

Mission Delta 2 Conducts Change Command

PETERSON SPACE FORCE BASE, Colo. – Mission Delta 2 changed leadership as U.S. Space Force Col. Raj Agrawal relinquished command to U.S. Space Force Col. Barry Croker during a change-of-command ceremony, July 3, 2025, at Peterson SFB, Colo.  

The units now falling under Col. Croker’s command includes the 15th Space Surveillance Squadron, 18th Space Defense Squadron, 19th Space Defense Squadron, 20th Space Surveillance Squadron, 2nd Sustainment Squadron, and 62nd Cyberspace Squadron. 

 

MD 2 is responsible for Space Domain Awareness operations; identifying, characterizing, and exploiting opportunities and mitigate vulnerabilities in the national security space terrain on behalf of the U.S. Space Force and U.S. Space Command. 

During Col. Agrawal’s command, the unit enhanced spaceflight safety through collaborations efforts, supporting 254 launches; supported U.S. Space Command’s space sharing agreement program; integrated acquisitions, engineering, development, and sustainment, increasing responsiveness to tactical needs across short- and long-term objectives; demonstrated automated data analysis, integrating the Pacific Ecosystem Cyber capability for cyber defense support; and many more efforts expanding the U.S. Space Force’s impact on the joint force and national security.

 

“We do the things we do in order to make sure we can project long haul precision munitions wherever we want to put them; and we take that advantage away,” said Agrawal.

The former MD 2 commander will go on to serve as an instructor at the National Defense University.    

 

“The business of surveilance, track, target and assess is what Mission Delta 2 does; and there isn’t an operational mission delta that doesn’t rely on MD 2,” said Lt. Gen. David N. Miller, Jr., commander of Space Operations Command and presiding official over the ceremony.

“They are the best of what America has to offer and I thank every member of MD 2 here today and spread across the 15 locations around the world.” 

He also praised the efforts the unit has made in the two years of their existence. “We literally would not have a combat-ready Space Force without you,” said Miller. 

 

Croker joins the MD 2 team after serving as the Strategic Initiatives Group director for the Office of the Chief of Space Operations; where he directly supporting the planning and execution of key engagements, strategic communications, and Space Force-wide transformation initiatives.

“Together, we'll rise to the challenge and move closer to creating the service that our nation needs,” said Croker.

“We'll document our successes and learn from our failures, and in all things, we will execute with a shared vision of what it means to effectively produce space domain awareness, ensuring the Space Force can always secure our nation's interests in, from, and to space,”

DAF kicks off department-level exercise series in Pacific

ARLINGTON, Va. (AFNS) – The Department of the Air Force launched its Pacific-focused first-in-a-generation Department-Level Exercise (DLE) series today in multiple locations across the United States and Indo-Pacific areas of responsibility.

This DLE is scheduled to feature 12,000 U.S. Air and Space Force personnel, more than 350 bomber, fighter, cargo and refueling aircraft, and space-based and space-enabled capabilities to include, but not limited to, space electromagnetic warfare, space domain awareness, orbital warfare and navigational warfare.

 

"This exercise, the first of its kind since the Cold War, marks a pivotal moment for our Air Force and Space Force, bringing together Airmen and Guardians to bolster our nation's warfighting capabilities,” said Secretary of the Air Force Troy Meink.

“Training like this alongside the Joint Force, our allies and partners in realistic operating environments using distributed operations is how we integrate capabilities to overcome any national security challenge.”

The DLE series will incorporate multiple command exercises into one overall threat deterrence scenario, including Resolute Force Pacific (REFORPAC), Resolute Space, Mobility Guardian, Emerald Warrior and Bamboo Eagle 25-3.

It will also integrate multiple allies and partners in specific component exercises with shared interests. Partner integration is critical to U.S. efforts to ensure regional and global peace and stability and provides a decisive advantage against complex threats.

 

"Exercising at this speed, scale and tempo is how we prepare for the future fight,” said Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David Allvin.

“We need Airmen to move fast and think outside the box, disrupting the operational status quo. We also build trust and understanding through deliberate planning, operating and learning alongside our partners across the Pacific."

 

A large part of this expanded exercise construct is tackling the logistical challenges that come with the sustainment of operations over time.

Air Mobility Command has been preparing for this month-long effort for nearly two years, incorporating valuable lessons from Mobility Guardian 2023.

For this year’s iteration AMC plans to showcase improved sustainment operations, both as part of the DLE and as part of U.S. Transportation Command’s Ultimate Distribution exercise.

 

“Validating our ability to sustain operations by rapidly flowing forces and conducting Agile Combat Employment (ACE) throughout the Indo-Pacific theater is essential,” said Allvin.

“Practicing these large muscle movements and learning to integrate seamlessly with our regional allies and partners ensures we can project power and provide options to the President.”

With the inclusion of Resolute Space, the series also incorporates the U.S. Space Force’s capabilities in much the same way they would be integrated in a real-world scenario.

 

“Resolute Space sends a clear message: Guardians are prepared to fight and win in space shoulder to shoulder with our joint and allied partners,” said Chief of Space Operations Gen. Chance Saltzman.

“By training at this unprecedented scale, we’re sharpening warfighter instincts, strengthening combat credibility and proving our commitment to deliver peace through strength in the face of any challenge.”

Through this DLE, the Department of the Air Force is preparing to be a stronger, more lethal deterrent force, to provide an advantage against competitors and adversaries across all domains, and to ensure regional stability in the Indo-Pacific and beyond.

Trump promises Zelensky ten missiles – Axios

US President Donald Trump has promised to send more Patriot missiles to Ukraine, but the number will apparently be very limited, Axios has reported, citing sources briefed on a recent call between Trump and Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky.

Last week, the Pentagon announced the suspension of some weapons shipments to Ukraine, including precision munitions and air defense interceptors, citing concerns over depleting US stockpiles.

 

On Monday, however, Trump stated that Washington would continue sending “defensive weapons” to Kiev.

Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell has also confirmed that, at the president’s direction, the Department of Defense would “send additional defensive weapons to Ukraine.”

 

Trump did not disclose exactly which weapons would be delivered or in what amount, but according to Axios, the US leader told Zelensky during a phone call on Friday that the US would immediately send ten Patriot missile interceptors.

Each Patriot missile is said to cost approximately $4 million, and the US defense industry is currently believed to produce around 500 annually. US air defense protocols typically require at least two missiles to be shot to intercept a single incoming target.

 

Trump also pledged to help Kiev find other ways to get munitions. Trump has reportedly been pressing Germany to contribute more of its own weapons to Kiev, including one of its Patriot batteries.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who is said to have personally ordered the recent pause, has reportedly identified available Patriot batteries in Germany and Greece that the US could finance and redirect to Ukraine.

 

It remains unclear when the promised missiles will be delivered or whether additional shipments will follow. The latest pledge, involving only ten interceptor missiles, comes amid a broader trend under Trump of reducing US military support for Ukraine.

Unlike the administration of former US President Joe Biden, Trump has been seeking to negotiate a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.

His administration has resumed direct talks with Moscow and been seeking alternative avenues for resolving the conflict.

 

Meanwhile, Moscow has criticized the conflicting statements coming out of Washington regarding weapons deliveries to Ukraine.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov pointed out that the US is continuing to deliver weapons, while noting that European countries have been particularly active in supplying arms to Kiev.

He stressed that such actions do not promote peace and just “help prolong hostilities.”

 

Russia had previously welcomed signs of declining Western military support for Ukraine, with Peskov stating that fewer foreign weapons could help speed a resolution to the conflict.

At the same time, he cautioned that it was still too early to determine whether the trend will continue.

Moscow has consistently maintained that foreign arms shipments to Ukraine only lead to further bloodshed without affecting the overall outcome of the conflict.

Former President Joe Biden’s erstwhile personal physician wants to delay testifying before the House oversight committee, citing the need for an agreement that will respect doctor-patient confidentiality norms as part of the investigation into Biden’s physical and cognitive deterioration while in office.

 

AP reports Dr. Kevin O’Connor, who served as Biden’s physician at the White House, requested a delay until the end of July or early August “to reach an accommodation that will protect the very substantial privilege and confidentiality interests of Dr. O’Connor and former President Biden,” according to a letter from his lawyer sent to Rep. James Comer of Kentucky on Saturday.

 

House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) subpoenaed O’Connor just last month in an effort to force him to publicly testify about what he knew and when he knew it, as Breitbart News reported.

 

AP obtained a copy of the letter to confirm the latest request for a delay. It further reported:

 

A spokesperson for Oversight Republicans said the committee will follow the House’s deposition guidelines, which allow for witnesses to assert privilege on a question-by-question basis, with the committee chair ruling on each claim.

 

But O’Connor is not allowed, in the committee’s view, to delay or decline a congressional subpoena due to concerns over questions about potentially privileged information.

 

The House Oversight Committee first requested O’Connor testify before the committee last July, but the Biden White House blocked his testimony.

 

Comer renewed his request in May and later subpoenaed the doctor in June.

 

As Breitbart News reported, the physical and mental state of Biden during his last years has long been a topic for debate.

 

Republican leaders, conservative commentators, and others unleashed a torrent of criticism following CNN anchor Jake Tapper’s admission in May the White House deceived the public about Biden’s ability to discharge his duties.

Ukraine sanctions 5 Chinese firms for supplying components used in Russian drones

President Volodymyr Zelensky signed an order on July 8 imposing sanctions on five Chinese-registered companies accused of supplying components found in Russian Shahed-type drones used to attack Ukraine.

The decree follows a statement by Ukraine's Security Service (SBU), which said it recovered Chinese-made parts from downed drones during a July 4 air assault on Kyiv.

 

Sanctions were imposed on Central Asia Silk Road International Trade, Suzhou Ecod Precision Manufacturing, Shenzhen Royo Technology, Shenzhen Jinduobang Technology, and Ningbo BLIN Machinery.

The list was published on the Presidential Office's website alongside the official decision by Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council.

 

Russia's domestically produced drones based on Iran's Shahed-136 is a loitering munition extensively used by Russia to target Ukrainian cities, and is assembled with components sourced from around the world. Kyiv has warned that some of these parts continue to flow through countries that have not joined Western sanctions.

 

China has emerged as one of Moscow's key wartime partners, helping Russia circumvent sanctions and becoming the largest supplier of dual-use goods aiding its defense sector.

Vladyslav Vlasiuk, the Ukrainian president's commissioner for sanctions, told journalists on July 7 that Russia's growing ability to sustain weapons production is being driven by a flow of Chinese components and materials.

 

Zelensky has repeatedly accused China of backing Russia and providing technological and logistical support for its war effort.

On May 29, he said Beijing had blocked the sale of drones to Ukraine while continuing to supply them to Russia.

 

Ukraine has already sanctioned several Chinese companies tied to Russia's war effort.

As Russian-Chinese relations deepen, Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to visit China in September, where he is scheduled to meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

President Donald Trump published a message on Monday in defense of longtime ally Jair Bolsonaro, who served as president of Brazil during Trump’s first term, accusing the Brazilian judiciary of doing a “terrible thing” by launching multiple criminal investigations against him and banning him from running for office.

 

Bolsonaro governed Brazil from 2018 to 2023, losing narrowly in the 2022 election to formerly imprisoned radical socialist Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Lula, 79, is currently serving his third term as president, marked by a dramatic increase in politically motivated trials against Bolsonaro, his family, and his supporters. Aiding Lula’s legal campaigns against conservatives is the Brazilian top court, the Supreme Federal Tribunal (STF), which has launched multiple violent raids and investigations against conservatives on allegation of spreading “fake news.” STF Minister Alexandre de Moraes, one of the court’s most prominent judges, began persecuting conservatives under the guise of fighting “fake news” during the Bolsonaro presidency and has since expanded his actions to target the former president himself.

 

Jair Bolsonaro initially faced three main criminal allegations: falsifying a coronavirus vaccine card to enter the United States in 2022; inappropriately keeping expensive jewelry gifted to Brazil by Saudi Arabia; and leading an attempted “coup” to oust the current leftist government including a plot to poison Lula. Bolsonaro, 70, is facing up to 39 years in prison on the “coup” charges alone.

 

Prosecutors moved in March to drop the vaccine card charges, but the other cases remain in vigor, and Bolsonaro is currently banned from running for any public office despite polls showing him in the lead for the 2026 presidential election.

 

Trump mentioned Bolsonaro’s positive polling and celebrated his presidency in his statement on Monday, published on his website, Truth Social.

 

“Brazil is doing a terrible thing on their treatment of former President Jair Bolsonaro,” Trump wrote. “I have watched, as has the World, as they have done nothing but come after him, day after day, night after night, month after month, year after year!”

 

“He is not guilty of anything, except having fought for THE PEOPLE,” the president emphasized.

Bolsonaro acknowledged that Trump, “the illustrious president and friend… went through something similar” and was “implacably persecuted, but triumphed for the good of the United States and dozens of other truly democratic countries.”

 

“Thank you for existing and giving us an example of faith and resilience,” Bolsonaro concluded, addressing Trump.

 

Trump’s comment appeared to rankle Lula, who condemned “interference” in a rant on Monday without mentioning Trump or America by name.

 

“The defense of democracy in Brazil is a matter that concerns Brazilians,” Lula told reporters following Trump’s statement. “We are a sovereign country. We do not accept interference or lecturing from anyone. We possess solid and independent institutions.”

 

“Nobody is above the law — above all, those who threaten liberty or the state of rights,” Lula insisted.

 

Lula himself is president despite being banned from running for office after being found guilty through multiple appeals of corruption during his previous two terms as president. Lula was sentenced to over 25 years in prison in 2019 as part of a criminal investigation known as “Operation Car Wash,” which took down dozens of politicians found accepting bribes from corrupt contractors seeking overpriced contracts for government public works projects. Lula was found guilty of using some of the illicit money to buy a luxury beachfront property.

 

The STF, which is currently processing multiple cases against Bolsonaro, freed Lula in 2021 and allowed him to run for office again despite Brazilian law forbidding convicted criminals from holding public office. The STF argued that the original district court processing the Lula case, in the state of Curitiba, did not have jurisdiction over such a large case, but did not present any evidence exonerating Lula of the crimes for which he was repeatedly convicted.

 

While Lula did not mention Trump by name, one of his top cabinet officials, Institutional Relations Minister Gleisi Hoffmann, pointedly condemned the American president.

 

“Donald Trump is very mistaken if he thinks he can interfere in the Brazilian judicial process,” Hoffman railed. “The time when Brazil was subservient to the USA was the time of Bolsonaro, who saluted his flag and did not defend national interests.”

 

“One can’t talk about persecution when a sovereign country fulfills appropriate legal processes of the democratic state of laws, which Bolsonaro and his coup-plotters tried to destroy,” Hoffman accused. “The president of the USA should take care of his own problems, which are not few, and respect the sovereignty of Brazil and our judiciary.”

Russian Military Drone Crashes Into Dacha in Republic of Tatarstan

A Russian military drone crashed into a dacha in the republic of Tatarstan on Tuesday following an apparent malfunction during a test flight, the drone’s developer said.

Officials in Kazan, Tatarstan’s capital, said a “civilian” aircraft lost control and fell onto a dacha north of the city at 9:10 a.m. local time, sparking a brief fire but causing no injuries.

Videos shared on social media showed flames engulfing the building.

 

Regional transportation prosecutors launched a preliminary investigation, saying the drone crashed about 1 kilometer (0.6 miles) from its landing strip.

The drone’s developer, the Yekaterinburg-based Ural Civil Aviation Factory, confirmed its new Altius model crashed during landing and blamed “unidentified external electronic warfare devices” for disrupting the flight.

 

Under development since 2011, Altius has been plagued by delays and cost overruns. In 2018, police arrested its chief designer on fraud charges.

The drone, seen as a rival to the U.S.-developed MQ-9 Reaper and RQ-4 Global Hawk, made its first flight in 2019.

 

Russia’s Defense Ministry says the six-ton drone can fly for more than 24 hours and conduct a full range of optical, radio and radar reconnaissance missions.

The United States sanctioned the Ural Civil Aviation Factory in 2023 for developing Altius and servicing other drones used in Russia’s war against Ukraine.

German luxury sports car maker Porsche has reported a global sales drop in the first half of the year, citing the impact of stiff competition in China, according to a company statement on Tuesday.

 

Global deliveries fell by 6% compared to the same period in 2024, driven by a sharp 28% drop in the Asian country.

Germany, Porsche’s home market, also recorded a 23% decline, while the broader European market saw an 8% drop.

 

Germany’s economy shrank by 0.2% in 2024, following a 0.3% contraction in 2023. The downturn has been driven by high energy prices, elevated interest rates, a sluggish digital transformation, and a shortage of skilled labor, all of which have weighed on industries, including automotive manufacturing.

As New Yorkers flock to the beach for summer fun, some unexpected guests have been making quite a splash in the headlines.

Shark sightings have seen a notable uptick in frequency at spots like Rockaway Beach, where city-operated drones have spotted our finned friends on a record number of occasions.

According to information released by the parks department and reported by Gothamist, since July 1, sharks have been detected by these high-flying eyes nine times, leading to a cumulative 12 hours of beach closure.

 

This shark surveillance uptick isn't necessarily because the sharks have suddenly decided to visit the Rockaways en masse.

The increased presence is largely thanks to more drones patrolling the skies, as experts and city officials have noted in recent statements.

"The people flying these drones are now seeing what we've known and what we've been observing on these whale watching boats for a long time, is a really vibrant ecosystem just off the shore of New York City," Chris St. Lawrence, researcher with Gotham Whale, told Gothamist.

The Department of Emergency Management is currently deploying four or more drone teams during the busiest beach days, highlights a report from Aries Dela Cruz, an official with the city's emergency management office.

 

For beachgoers, the experience can be, to put it mildly, a disruption. When drones, operated this time by the fire department, spotted a shark at Beach 102nd Street, an hour-long closure affecting 37 blocks was implemented.

This response comes in the wake of more aggressive measures taken after an incident in 2023, when a swimmer was badly injured by a shark bite at the same beach.

Coverage by NBC New York reminds us that these sightings, while concerning for some, serve as evidence of a thriving marine ecology right in New York City's aquatic backyard.

 

Despite the upsurge in drone-detected shark presence, important to note is the naturalness of these occurrences. Sharks have always been out there, and technology is simply bringing that reality into sharper focus.

"The more we look for them – sharks has always been out there… but finding them is not a bad thing," commented Inspector Frank DiGiacomo, former head of the Technical Assistant Response Unit for the NYPD.

Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Kaz Daughtry, who championed the use of drones during his NYPD tenure, even defended the hour-long shut downs, insisting that knowing about a shark's proximity when you're a mere 100 feet away is knowledge worth having, as reported by Gothamist.

Arson suspect spotted by drone after allegedly setting Murfreesboro home on fire

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man has been arrested and charged after he intentionally set a home on fire in Rutherford County, officials said.

Crews with Rutherford County Fire Rescue and deputies with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office were reportedly sent to the 4000 block of Betty Ford Road just after 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 7 to respond to a residential structure fire.

 

Once they arrived at the scene, first responders said they observed smoke coming from the home and learned that the fire may have been intentionally set.

Authorities reported a drone spotted the suspect—identified as Timothy Graham—in a field behind the home.

 

According to officials, Graham was taken into custody and an investigation by the Rutherford County Fire Marshal’s Office revealed that he set the fire on purpose.

Graham was charged with arson and is being held in the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center on a $70,000 bond.

Sheriff’s deputies use drone to arrest wanted man after three-hour standoff

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) - Henry County Sheriff’s deputies used a search warrant and drone to arrest a wanted man after a three-hour standoff on Monday evening, July 7.

Before 8 p.m., deputies responded to a home on 91 Camp Branch Rd in Martinsville to serve five arrest warrants on Darren Earl Bacon, Jr., said investigators.

When deputies arrived, they heard the sound of a television and detected movement within the home. After repeated attempts to make contact with Bacon, a search warrant was obtained.

 

Henry County Sheriff’s deputies called in a drone team, SWAT and a negotiator to the residence.

After entering the home, a drone was flown in. It identified Bacon in his bedroom, where he surrendered himself peacefully to law enforcement outside the home for his arrest, according to the sheriff’s office.

The standoff ended in three hours, according to sheriff’s deputies.

 

Darren Earl Bacon Jr. was charged with:

Entering dwelling house, with intent to commit larceny, assault and battery or other felony

Larceny of certain animals (felony)

Intentionally damage property (misdemeanor)

Simple Assault (2 counts misdemeanor)

Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Justice

 

Bacon is being held in jail without bond.

Another added that constituents have urged them to prepare for “violence … to fight to protect our democracy.”

Trump says a new 50% tariff on copper imports is coming

President Donald Trump said Tuesday he’s imposing a new 50% tariff on all copper. However, it’s unclear when the new tariff would take effect.

 

“Today we’re doing copper,” he said at a Cabinet meeting, adding that he believed the rate will be 50%.

 

This would mark the fourth across-the-board tariff Trump has imposed during his second term.Currently, imported cars and car parts face a 25% tariff while imported steel and aluminum face 50% tariffs.

 

Trump ordered a Section 232 investigation into copper imports in February.

Copper is a crucial component in a variety of goods, including electronics, machinery and cars. Tariffs on copper could make those goods more expensive.

 

Copper prices surged to all-time highs after Trump said he plans to levy tariffs on the red metal. The most actively traded copper futures contract in New York jumped as much as 15% and hit a record $5.66 per pound.

 

Copper prices have soared 38% this year as Trump’s tariffs are set to hike the cost of importing the metal, a reflection of the stockpiling occurring to get ahead of tariffs.

Israel to forcibly draft ultra-Orthodox seminary students

 

The military orders follow a court decision ending exemptions for the community

 

Israel's military has announced plans to forcibly draft 54,000 ultra-Orthodox seminary students this month following a Supreme Court order nullifying their exemptions, the IDF reported in a Telegram post on Sunday.

 

Military service is mandatory for most citizens of Israel, with both men and women required to serve in the IDF for a period of 24 to 32 months, usually starting at age 18. Most of the country's Arab population, who comprise 21% of the population, is exempt from military service, although some volunteer. Ultra-Orthodox Jewish seminary students have also been exempt for decades.

 

The conscription notices are scheduled for distribution throughout July, with enlistments staggered over the coming year.

 

The IDF said it will also strengthen enforcement against draft evaders and deserters across all sectors. According to local reports, authorities plan to take swifter action against those who fail to report for duty, including authorizing border police to set up checkpoints and carry out arrests.

 

The decision comes amid heightened military demands due to ongoing conflicts with Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Houthis in Yemen, as well as tensions with Iran. Reservists in the IDF have reportedly expressed fatigue from extended deployments, increasing pressure on the government to broaden the draft pool.

 

Last June, Israel's Supreme Court ruled that the state must begin drafting the Jewish seminary students into the military. Mass protests broke out in Jerusalem, with thousands of demonstrators clashing with police, hurling rocks and attacking vehicles, including those of senior ultra-Orthodox ministers.

 

Ultra-Orthodox parties within Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s coalition, notably United Torah Judaism (UTJ) and Shas, have threatened to withdraw support unless exemptions are reinstated through legislation. Their departure could dismantle Netanyahu's narrow parliamentary majority, potentially triggering early elections.

 

Ultra-Orthodox leaders argue that military integration threatens their religious lifestyle, particularly due to gender integration in the armed forces. In response, the military has pledged to accommodate their way of life and develop programs to foster inclusion.

Tesla is in deeper trouble than you think

Tesla’s troubles go far beyond CEO Elon Musk’s recent dust-up with President Donald Trump, who accused the former “first buddy” of going “completely ‘off the rails’” in a social media slap fight over the weekend.

 

But while the battles between Musk and Trump are getting all the attention,the outlook for Tesla’s revenue and bottom line have has gotten notably worse. And the company could even be back to losing money, for reasons unrelated to Musk’s personal politics.

 

Musk was Trump’s largest financial supporter during the 2024 campaign, and was a mainstay at Mar-a-Lago and the White House at the start of Trump’s second term, with his role in slashing the federal workforce at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). But Musk has since announced he was starting a new political party due to his displeasure with the tax and spending bill signed by Trump on Friday — and the barbs on their respective websites have only increased since then.

 

Shares of Tesla closed Monday down 6.8%, as investors were concerned about the implication of Musk’s latest political moves, despite his promises to re-focus on the company.

 

“Very simply Musk diving deeper into politics and now trying to take on the Beltway establishment is exactly the opposite direction that Tesla investors/shareholders want him to take during this crucial period for the Tesla story,” wrote Dan Ives, an analyst at Wedbush Securities who’s known for being optimistic about the company.

 

Ives put out a follow-up note Tuesday saying that the Tesla board should set ground rules to limit Musk’s political activities because the company is at a “tipping point” for its future.

 

“Tesla is heading into one of the most important stages of its growth cycle with the autonomous and robotics future now on the doorstep and cannot have Musk spending more and more time creating a political party which will require countless time, energy, and political capital,” he wrote.

 

Still, Ives maintained his buy recommendation and $500 price target for the stock in his note. But analysts at William Blair cut their recommendation on the stock to “market perform” or neutral, and also cut their earnings forecast for the company.

 

Because even without the political stink, the Tesla’s financial outlook is suddenly looking notably worse.

 

Tesla did not respond to requests for comment. But when Ives posted his belief that the Tesla board should tie Musk’s future pay package to the amount of time he spends at Tesla and have oversight of his political “endeavors,” Musk responded with his own post on X, saying “Shut up, Dan.”

 

Tesla about to lose important profit driver

Blair’s note pointed out that Trump’s bill not only removed the $7,500 tax credit for electric vehicle (EV) buyers, but also eliminated the financial penalties for automakers that fail to meet federal emissions targets. Emissions fines have historically forced automakers who still build primarily gasoline powered cars and trucks to buy “regulatory credits” from EV companies.

 

Removing those fines eliminates “market demand for Tesla’s credits,” said the note from William Blair analysts Jed Dorsheimer and Mark Shooter. The sale of those federal and state credits added $10.6 billion to Tesla’s bottom line since 2019 and often enabled the company to post a profit.

 

Without the revenue from those regulatory credits, the company would not have reported a positive annual net income until 2021, and it would have been back in the red again in the first quarter of this year, when its net income plunged 71% compared to a year earlier on sharply lower sales around the globe.

 

Musk has largely downplayed all the recent bad news, saying the company’s future rests on robots, artificial intelligence and self-driving taxis.

But the company’s taxi service is very limited to date, launching only in Austin, Texas, for a select group of customers – mostly Tesla fans – and with a Tesla employee riding in the front passenger seat to monitor the car’s performance.

That puts Tesla behind the robotaxi service already offered in Austin and three other cities – San Francisco, Los Angeles and Phoenix – by Waymo, the self-driving car unit of Google parent Alphabet.

 

And Tesla’s rollout has had its shares of problems, including a video showing a robotaxi traveling on the wrong side of the road for about half of a block and another video of a robotaxi slowly turning its front wheels into a parked car.

 

While Musk has promised his robotaxi service will be expanding soon across many other cities, he has not given any further details. He also hasn’t said when the Austin service will be expanded to the general public, nor when the company’s human monitors sitting in the front passenger seat will no longer be needed.

 

Meanwhile, Waymo has definitive plans to expand its service to Miami and Washington, DC, next year in partnership with Uber.

 

“We expect that investors are growing tired of the distraction at a point when the business needs Musk’s attention the most and only see downside from his dip back into politics,” said the William Blair note. “We would prefer this effort to be channeled towards the robotaxi rollout at this critical juncture.”

 

Drop in demand likely to continue. Then there’s the problem of Tesla’s sales. Or rather, the lack thereof.

 

Global sales were down a record 13% in each of the first two quarters of this year, compared to a year earlier, even though demand for EVs overall continues to climb, a further sign of Tesla’s declining market share.

 

Part of the lost EV market share is due to increased competition, both from Western automakers rolling out their own EV offerings, and Chinese automakers that have made a massive push into the market. Chinese automaker BYD is poised to surpass Tesla in global annual EV sales this year for the first time, even though Tesla is a still a major player in China, and BYDs are not sold in the US.

 

Demand is likely to weaken further come October 1, when the $7,500 tax credit for electric car buyers expires. When a previous version of the tax credit was phased out for Teslas in 2019, the company had to cut the price of the car by about half the value of the lost credit.

 

But Tesla has also faced missteps of Musk’s own doing. There has been backlash against Musk’s political activity, which has had a significant impact on Tesla sales. That is likely to continue even as he moves to distance himself from Trump.

 

In the early months of this year, hundreds of protests were held outside Tesla showrooms in the United States, Canada and Europe. Worries about self-inflicted brand damage started the company’s shares on their downward slide.

It prompted Trump, who was still Musk’s ally at the time, to announce he was buying a Tesla for himself. In March, the president hosted an event at the White House urging others to buy the company’s cars. At one point, Musk and Tesla investors might have hoped that in a closely divided country, the lost sales to Trump critics might be at least partly made up for by sales to Trump fans.

 

ButMusk seems to now face the possibility of backlash from both sides of the political spectrum.

 

“He’s been able to alienate everyone, which many thought was impossible, but he’s actually been able to do it,” Ives told CNN Monday. “And the problem is, this soap opera just keeps going on.”

Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna Shares ‘Proof of Angels’ Amid Explosive UFO Disclosure Push

At a recent Capitol Hill hearing, the atmosphere buzzed with anticipation.

The speaker: Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, a 36-year-old U.S. Air Force veteran and rising Republican figure who’s been making waves since taking office in 2023.

Now, she’s chairing one of the most talked-about congressional efforts in years the 2025 Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets.

 

But Luna’s name really lit up social media on July 7, 2025, when an X post, attributed to her, went viral. It showed an eerie, many-eyed, winged figure with the caption:

“Actual representation of Angels. 10/10 post.” The image, which resembled ancient biblical descriptions of angels, exploded online. UFO believers, religious scholars, and skeptics alike debated its meaning.

 

Despite the mystery, Luna’s mission is very real. Appointed in February 2025, she leads a bipartisan task force under the House Oversight Committee.

Its job? Declassify long-shrouded government records from UAPs (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena, the modern term for UFOs) to the JFK assassination, 9/11 documents, and even the Jeffrey Epstein case.

 

“Our goal is to restore trust through transparency,” Luna stated during a press briefing in April.

“The American people deserve to know what their government knows especially when it involves national security or advanced technologies that may be hidden from public view.”

 

She’s not alone. Reps. Tim Burchett and Jared Moskowitz, and whistleblower David Grusch who told Congress in 2023 the U.S. recovered “non-human biologics” have joined the call for full disclosure.

So what exactly are UAPs? Simply put, they’re unexplained aerial events that defy easy categorization. The Pentagon’s All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) established in 2022 has reviewed over 1,800 cases.

Most are drones, balloons, or clutter. But about 171 remain unexplained, according to the Department of Defense.

 

A 2024 Pentagon report found that 144 UAP cases had no clear answers, fueling more questions than answers. Luna’s task force hopes to change that by pushing agencies to automate redactions and release more raw data.

The “Angels” post added another layer to the debate. Some point to Jacques Vallée, the famed French UFO researcher, who’s long suggested that what we call aliens today may have once been interpreted as divine or demonic beings angels, even.

 

As Luna’s post surged across Reddit and TikTok, comments ranged from awe to doubt.

“Is she showing us the truth behind both religion and aliens?”

one Redditor asked. Others questioned if the post diluted scientific inquiry with spiritual symbolism.

 

Critics, like those highlighted by Spectrum News, caution against fringe associations.

Some fear Luna’s openness to controversial theories could weaken the credibility of the movement. But her defenders call her

“the UFO community’s champion.”

 

This summer and fall, Luna’s task force is expected to hold more hearings and push for further declassifications. AARO is also slated to release additional reports. And as for the “Angels” image?

Until then, one thing’s clear: Luna has become the face of a growing effort to pull back the curtain on decades of government secrecy.

Court Rejects Judge Hannah Dugan’s Claim for Immunity for Diverting ICE Agents, Freeing Illegal Alien Criminal

 

A ruling from U.S. Magistrate Nancy Joseph in Wisconsin has rejected Judge Hannah Dugan’s claim for absolute immunity for her actions in stopping her own court hearing, diverting ICE agents away from the adjacent hallway, sending them on an errand and then escorting a criminal illegal alien out of the courthouse through a nonpublic jury door.

 

The decision from the case that charges Dugan with federal crimes said, “Judges are not immune from criminal prosecution for acts wholly outside their official roles as judges.”

 

She explains, “The indictment alleges Dugan violated two federal statutes, 18U.S.C. §§ 1071 and 1505, and cites the respective statutory language for both. Whether Dugan violated these statutes as the government accuses, or whether she was merely performing her judicial duties as Dugan asserts, these are questions for a jury that cannot be resolved on a motion to dismiss.

 

“I recommend Dugan’s motion to dismiss on Tenth Amendment grounds be denied.”

 

Further, the ruling found Dugan’s attempt to obtain the dismissal of her indictment on constitutional avoidance grounds is “misplaced.”

 

“It is well-established and undisputed that judges have absolute immunity from civil lawsuits for monetary damages when engaging in judicial acts. This, however, is not a civil case. And review of the case law does not show an extension of this established doctrine to the criminal context.”

 

Applying established principles of immunity to Dugan’s case, the ruling determined: “Does judicial immunity shield Dugan from prosecution because the indictment alleges she violated federal criminal law while performing judicial duties? The answer is no. …There is no firmly established absolute judicial immunity barring criminal prosecution of judges for judicial acts.”

 

Dugan had argued as a state court judge acting within the scope of her official duties, prosecution is barred, she also is protected by the Tenth Amendment and the canon of constitutional avoidance.

 

She wrongly cited the Supreme Court’s ruling granted President Donald Trump differing levels of immunity based on official actions.

 

“While Dugan asserts that Trump simply extended to the president the same immunity from prosecution that judges already have, this argument makes a leap too far. Trump says nothing about criminal immunity for judicial acts.”

 

A grand jury accused Dugan of knowingly concealing a person for whose arrest a warrant and process had been issued, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1071. She is charged in Count Two with obstruction of the United States Department of Homeland Security’s removal proceedings, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1505.

 

The episode happened on April 18, when, according to the records, “Dugan knowingly concealed E.F.R., a person for whose arrest a warrant and process had been issued under the provisions of the law of the United States, so as to prevent the discovery and arrest of E.F.R., after notice and knowledge of the fact that a warrant and process had been issued for the apprehension of E.F.R., in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1071; Count Two On or about April 18, 2025, Dugan did corruptly endeavor to influence, obstruct, and impede the due and proper administration of the law under which a pending proceeding was being had before a department and agency of the United States, namely the administrative arrest of E.F.R. for purposes of removal proceedings conducted by the United States Department of Homeland Security, by committing affirmative acts to assist E.F.R. to evade arrest, including: a) confronting members of a United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Task Force and falsely telling them they needed a judicial warrant to effectuate the arrest of E.F.R.; b) upon learning that they had an administrative warrant for E.F.R.’s arrest, directing all identified members of the ICE Task Force to leave…”

 

A report at the Gateway Pundit described how the video shows Dugan “angrily confronting ICE agents in the courthouse.”

 

Dugan later was arrested by the FBI for obstructing federal law enforcement.

 

She then claimed that everything she did was part of her judicial duty, so she is totally immune to any prosecution.

 

Dugan has been relieved of her duties and is facing trial.

 

WND previously has reported Dugan could face sentencing of up to six years in jail and $350,000 in fines if convicted.

Tucker Carlson Accuses Pam Bondi’s DOJ Of Epstein Cover-Up — Gives Two Theories

USAID Quietly Sent Thousands Of Viruses To Chinese Military-Linked Biolab

 

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) shipped thousands of viral samples to a lab in Wuhan over the course of a 10-year program even though it had no formal agreement with the lab in place, according to previously unreported documents.

 

The documents show that USAID funded the exportation of 11,000 samples from Yunnan Province, where some of the closest relatives of the COVID-19 virus circulate, to Wuhan, the epicenter of the pandemic, with no apparent plan for ensuring the samples were not misdirected to bioweapons and remained accessible to the U.S. government.

 

A $210 million USAID public health program called PREDICT, steered by the University of California-Davis, collected viral samples in countries throughout the globe but lacked long-term storage when funding dried up, according to rudimentary plans in 2019.

 

USAID’s sample dispensation plan for China is sparse: “No need [sic] information from Yunnan. They were never an official lab partner for PREDICT. All samples they helped collected [sic] are sent to, tested, and stored in Wuhan.”

 

The “lab” refers to the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV). WIV was a close partner of USAID contractor EcoHealth Alliance and a slated partner for a PREDICT-like program supported by the State Department. The lab has poor biosafety practices and ties to the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).

 

One of the closest known relatives of the COVID virus is among the viruses sampled with USAID funding.

 

“Investigations involving USAID’s former funding of global health awards remain active and ongoing,” a senior State Department official said in a statement to the Daily Caller News Foundation. “The American people can rest assured knowing that under the Trump Administration we will not be funding these controversial programs.”

 

The internal documents were obtained through a FOIA lawsuit brought by U.S. Right to Know, a nonprofit newsroom and public health research group.

Airports Could Help Aliens Find Earth

Radar systems used by civilian airports and military operations may be unintentionally revealing our planet's existence to potential "extraterrestrial observers."

This is the conclusion of a study presented today at the Royal Astronomical Society (RAS)'s National Astronomy Meeting 2025 in Durham, England.

 

The researchers calculated that global aviation hubs like New York City's JFK International Airport and London, England's Heathrow and Gatwick could be serving as "technosignatures"—or clues to our existence—for alien life.

The "unintentional electromagnetic leakage" from airport radars and military radar systems could be "detectable across interstellar distances," the researchers note.

 

Study lead and astrophysicist Ramiro Saide of the University of Manchester said in a statement:

"Our findings suggest that radar signals—produced unintentionally by any planet with advanced technology and complex aviation system—could act as a universal sign of intelligent life."

In their study, the team at how electromagnetic leakage might appear to extraterrestrials that are up to 200 light-years from Earth, if they had state-of-the-art radio telescopes such as our own.

 

(In theory, this would also indicate how far we would be able to look to spot aliens who have evolved to use a similar level of technology.)

The researchers observed how visible these radar signals would be from nearby stars, such as Barnard's Star and AU Microscopii, by simulating how the signals spread out from Earth over time and space.

 

At less than 6 light-year away, Barnard's Star is "the closest single star to our sun and the most fast moving," while AU Microscopii is set less than 32 light-years from Earth and is among the youngest planetary systems ever observed by astronomers, according to NASA.

The researchers calculated that airport radar systems, which monitor the skies for airplanes, send out a combined radio signal of 2x1015 (two followed by 15 zeros) watts, which is enough to be picked up as far as 200 light-years away by telescopes comparable to the Green Bank Telescope in West Virginia.

 

Putting this distance into context, the closest potentially habitable world beyond our solar system is Proxima Centauri b, which is four light-years away and would still take a spacecraft using current technology thousands of years to get there.

Military radar systems—which are more focused and directional and create unique patterns, such as a lighthouse beam sweeping the sky—have an accumulated peak emission reaching about 1x1014 (one followed by 15 zeros) watts in a given field-of-view of the observer.

 

This would look "clearly artificial to anyone watching from interstellar distances with powerful radio telescopes," noted Caisse Saide.

"In fact, these military signals can appear up to a hundred times stronger from certain points in space, depending on where an observer is located," he added.

 

Saide noted that the findings of the latest study also enhance our understanding of how human technology may be observed from space.

"By learning how our signals travel through space, we gain valuable insights into how to protect the radio spectrum for communications and design future radar systems," added paper co-author and Manchester astronomer professor Michael Garrett.

 

"The methods developed for modelling and detecting these weak signals can also be used in astronomy, planetary defense, and even in monitoring the impact of human technology on our space environment."

Saide concluded: "In this way, our work supports both the scientific quest to answer the question 'Are we alone?' and practical efforts to manage the influence of technology on our world and beyond."

President Donald Trump is threatening to revive his trade war.Wall Street isn’t too concerned.Global markets were relatively calm Tuesday after Trump on Monday ratcheted up his tariff campaign — but extended the deadline to August 1 and said he was open to negotiations.That provided a sense of optimism for investors.

 

Stocks across Asia — including in Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong and Bombay — opened higher on Tuesday. US stocks opened mostly higher: The Dow fell 57 points, or 0.13%. The S&P 500 rose 0.05% and the tech-heavy Nasdaq gained 0.3%.

 

Market movements were relatively muted, signaling investors think Trump’s new tariffs are more negotiating tactics than firm policy. It’s a noticeable change from early April, when Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariffs sent stocks plummeting.

 

Three months after Trump initially announced massive “reciprocal” tariffs and then instigated a 90-day pause, Wall Street is looking through the tariff rhetoric.

 

“This latest round of tariff news feels more like an aftershock, one the market was prepared for, rather than the seismic event that shook markets on ‘Liberation Day’ over three months ago,” Tony Sycamore, market analyst at IG Australia, said in a note.

 

Trump late Monday told reporters at the White House that the August 1 deadline is “firm, but not 100% firm.”

“Markets have broadly shrugged off the tariff news overnight,” Frederic Neumann, chief Asia economist at HSBC, said. “Essentially, the door remains open for individual economies to whittle down proposed tariffs through negotiations.”

 

“Investors are taking the glass-half-full view at the moment, enjoying the reprieve from the deadline extension, rather than focus on the reiteration of the potential tariff levels should negotiations fall through,” he added.

 

The new tariff announcements are a “speed bump” as opposed to something that would “derail” the momentum in stocks, according to Mohit Kumar, chief strategist and economist for Europe at Jefferies.

The disaster has entered into the history books as one of the deadliest floods in Texas to take place in decades. The fatal turn of events led to a predictably politicized response where leftist media blamed everything from climate change to President Trump's policy making. Despite that shameless exploitation of the tragedy, the liberal legacy media shied away from another factor behind what may have caused the floods that has remained unexamined despite having more empirical evidence behind its validity: weather modification.

 

For decades, weather modification has been a facet of technocratic operations led by governments and private industry alike that has been relegated under the dismissive label of being a conspiracy theory. Yet, in the case of the Texas floods, it has emerged as a clear factor behind the natural disaster. On July 2nd, just 2 days before the massive deluge, a cloud seeding company named Rainmaker finished its operations in Texas. Rainmakers operation was designed to modify the weather by inducing cloud formations to fend off droughts in high-risk areas throughout the state. In the wake of the tragedy, its cloud seeding operations have come into focus as being a potential cause of the devastating floods.

In response to the horrifying scenes of the Texas floods that carried undertones of the Great Flood chronicled in the Book of Genesis, Rainmaker's CEO carefully laid out his company's operations to explain how they would not have resulted in any inclement weather. The elongated cranium was dug up by a team installing water pipes two months ago.

But experts at the Ministry of Culture of Catamarca, Argentina, believe they have solved the mystery.

Cristian Sebastián Melián, director of the provincial government’s Anthropology Department, said it belonged to a child aged between three and four years.

He said the youngster was buried around 900 years ago.

 

According to Melián, the skull’s unusual shape was due to a cultural practice known as head flattening or artificial cranial deformation.

Cranial reshaping dates back thousands of years and has been found all over the world.

 

The historical practice involved applying pressure to an infant’s skull with splints or bandages when the bone was most pliable.

Ancient civilisations believed the modified skull shape represented superior social status or a certain spiritual belief.

 

The skull was found in the town of San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca on 27 May, as reported by Need To Know.

Melián said it was located several feet from an unearthed burned llama skeleton and a ceramic vessel dated between 1430 and 1530 during the Inca occupation.

 

The child had been placed in the grave in the fetal position without any burial belongings.

But pottery fragments in the soil suggested a date of death of between 1100 and 1300.

 

Scientists did not detect any trauma or injury to the child’s skeleton, but noted the “pronounced cultural cranial alteration of the oblique tabular type”.

Melián said the Anthropology Department has over 100 skulls from ancient peoples, with a large number of them showing similar cranial modifications.

In the wake of the flood, Rep. Greene explained the purpose of her bill through a post to her account on X. "I am introducing a bill that prohibits the injection, release, or dispersion of chemicals or substances into the atmosphere for the express purpose of altering weather, temperature, climate, or sunlight intensity." The post from the Georgia representative read, concluding that breaking the prospective law would result in a felony offense.

 

While critics of Greene ridiculed the bill she proposed, it follows in the footsteps of another bill signed into law at the state level in Florida last month. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed Senate Bill 56 into law on June 20th in response to concerns over weather modification programs. The bill repealed state law that allowed the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to issue permits for weather modification and other geo-engineering endeavors. According to Florida state environmental officials, no such permits were ever requested despite their availability. Despite that, Republican Florida Senator Ileana Garcia led the charge against the mere possibility of those permits being issued en route to bill passing the Florida legislature with widespread support. When the bill went into effect on July 1st, the issuance of weather modification permits was revoked from the Florida DEP. Independent efforts to geoengineer weather in the state could also result in a third-degree felony carrying a prison sentence of as much as 5 years and fines up to $100,000 under the law. Planes equipped with weather modification equipment are also now required to declare themselves with the Florida Department of Transportation.

 

Like Greene, DeSantis was met with the same vitriol following the passage of Senate Bill 56. Democratic State Representative Anna Eskamani chastised the bill, remarking, "I think it's important that we do not legislate under that type of pressure but that we legislate on science, we legislate on fact, we legislate not on fear but on information." Bank of America on Tuesday raised its year-end forecast for the S&P 500 to 6,300 from 5,600. Goldman Sachs on Monday raised its year-end forecast for the S&P 500 to 6,600 from 6,100, citing expectations of sooner-than-anticipated Federal Reserve rate cuts, “fundamental strength” of large US stocks and “investors’ willingness to look through likely near-term earnings weakness.”

 

Analysts at Barclays said in a June note that markets were beginning to “turn the page” on tariffs to focus more on how artificial intelligence is impacting corporate earnings and how economic data continues to hold up.

 

David Wagner, portfolio manager at Aptus Capital Advisors, said he thinks tariffs are at the lower end of the list of things markets are concerned about.

 

“I think the market has moved on from it,” he said. “If there was some market volatility, Trump’s probably going to give in.”

 

Investors are now viewing tariff uncertainty within the broader context of Trump’s agenda, Michael Reynolds, vice president for investment strategy at Glenmede, said. Trump last week succeeded in passing his budget bill, which provided more clarity for Wall Street.

 

Uncertainty lingers

Wall Street is betting Trump won’t push for tariff rates that would destabilize the global economy, enabling stocks to grind higher. Some analysts warn of complacency.

 

“This modest reaction is perhaps a function of the market pricing in the ability to negotiate down tariffs, or perhaps a continuation of the TACO trade,” said Michael Wan, senior currency analyst at MUFG, in a note. “We are not so sure on our end, and it does seem to us like overall risk assets seem too sanguine to these tariff rates which are essentially quite similar to Liberation Day.”

 

Sarah Bianchi, senior managing director at Evercore ISI, said in a note thatTrump is “feeling good about recent victories” and with stocks near record highs, he is more likely to lean into imposing his tariff agenda.

 

Inflation data for June will be released next week, providing more insight into the economic impact of tariffs. In the meantime, investors will be on the watch for announcements about potential trade deals or tariffs.

 

“With the proverbial can likely to be kicked further down the road, leaving negotiators a bit more room to maneuver … markets are pricing little signs of concern,” analysts at Barclays said in a note. “However, it remains prudent to consider all possible scenarios, given the narrative around tariffs remains quite fluid and Trump maintains a ‘do whatever we want’ position.”

Rainmaker Technology CEO Augustus Doricko is claiming that his company had nothing to do with the recent flooding because his company did not do any cloud seeding in Texas on July 3rd or July 4th. But he is admitting that his company was doing cloud seeding in Texas on July 2nd…

 

Overnight from July 3rd – 4th, moisture surged into the Hill Country from the Pacific as remnants of Tropical Storm Barry moved across the region. At 1:00 a.m. on July 4th, the National Weather Service (NWS), which we work closely with to maintain awareness of severe weather systems, issued a flash flood warning for San Angelo, Texas. Note, summer convective cloud seeding operations in Texas do not occur during overnight hours. At 4:00 a.m. on July 4th, the NWS issued a life-threatening emergency warning, and flooding ensued.

 

Did Rainmaker conduct any operations that could have impacted the floods? No. The last seeding mission prior to the July 4th event was during the early afternoon of July 2nd, when a brief cloud seeding mission was flown over the eastern portions of south-central Texas, and two clouds were seeded. These clouds persisted for about two hours after seeding before dissipating between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. CDT. Natural clouds typically have lifespans of 30 minutes to a few hours at most, with even the most persistent storm systems rarely maintaining the same cloud structure for more than 12-18 hours. The clouds that were seeded on July 2nd dissipated over 24 hours prior to the developing storm complex that would produce the flooding rainfall.

 

A senior meteorologist observed an unusually high moisture content prior to the event’s arrival, using NWS sounding data. It was at this point that our meteorologists determined that we would suspend future operations indefinitely. As you can see, we suspended operations on July 2nd, a day before the NWS issued any flood warning.

 

This is a bombshell.

 

We don’t want people seeding our clouds.

The remnants of Tropical Storm Chantal didn’t just bring rain. They tore through central North Carolina with enough force to flood homes, drown highways, and trigger over 50 water rescues in a single night. The storm made landfall near Litchfield Beach, South Carolina early Sunday morning, then pushed north into the Carolinas. By Sunday evening, rainfall totals in Orange, Alamance, and Chatham counties hit 8 to 11 inches. The Eno River rose 20 feet in four hours. The Haw River crested at 32.5 feet, its second-highest level ever recorded. That’s higher than Hurricane Florence’s mark in 2018.

 

Chapel Hill was underwater. Bolin Creek spilled into Camelot Village, forcing evacuations. Eastgate Mall and University Place had standing water inside businesses. Cars were submerged. Roads collapsed. State Highway 902 in Chatham County gave out near Chatham Road. More than 120 roads were closed across the region. Interstate 40 and 85 were shut down near Durham. Power outages hit over 34,000 customers. Lake Michael Dam was flagged for possible failure. Orange County issued a voluntary evacuation for downstream areas.

The flash flooding wasn’t isolated. It hit hard across the Triad and Triangle. Mebane, Pittsboro, Hillsborough, Carrboro, and Durham all reported major damage. The National Weather Service confirmed tornado touchdowns in Lee and Chatham counties. Hangars and aircraft were damaged at the Raleigh Executive Jetport. Trees were ripped out of the ground. Mobile homes were destroyed. The storm’s wind gusts reached 60 mph. Chantal was the third named storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season. It arrived early. It left fast. But the damage is still being counted.

 

Governor Josh Stein declared local states of emergency in Alamance, Moore, and Orange counties. The Department of Transportation says it may take 48 hours to reopen major highways. The Southeast is expected to dry out by Tuesday, but the Mid-Atlantic is next. Chantal’s remnants are pushing into Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Rainfall totals of 3 to 6 inches are forecast. Flash flood alerts remain active.

 

This wasn’t a coastal event. It was inland chaos. Streets turned into rivers. Homes and cars went under. The system didn’t need hurricane strength to break records. It just needed time and saturation. And it got both.

New archaeological findings from a study led by renowned Egyptologist Dr. Zahi Hawass is challenging the long-standing belief that slaves built the pyramids in Egypt.

Inscriptions discovered above the King’s Chamber in the Pyramid of Khufu include red-painted markings with the names of work teams and details of their shifts, supporting earlier documents found at Wadi el-Jarf that describe stone deliveries to the pyramid site.

Together, the evidence leads them to believe that the builders were organized laborers working in rotating crews, not enslaved individuals.

 

Hawass shares exclusive images in the podcast interview

Dr. Hawass discussed the discovery in a June 6 interview on the Matt Beall Limitless podcast. He revealed never-before-seen images from deep within the pyramid, showing the hand-written names on stone.

“It’s almost impossible that someone in modern times could have forged something like this,” he said. The chamber lies 14 meters above the ground and can only be reached by crawling through narrow spaces.”

 

New camera explores the mysterious void inside the pyramid

As part of the same investigation, researchers inserted a camera into the “Big Void,” a 30-meter space first detected in 2017 using particle imaging. It was the first attempt to view inside the mysterious cavity.

Excavations around the pyramid have also uncovered graves belonging to workers believed to have participated in the construction.

The burial sites lie just south of the monument and include statues, tools, and inscriptions listing over 20 job titles such as “artisan” and “overseer of the side of the pyramid.”

Animal bones found nearby—11 cows and 33 goats—suggest that the workers were well-fed. Hawass said this diet could have supported 10,000 people daily.

Evidence of a nearby village adds further weight to the claim that the workers were respected members of a large, organized workforce.

The four commutations were for men who had been sentenced to life without parole for first-degree murder

 

Michigan Democrat Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has recently granted pardons and commutations of life sentences, including for five murderers.

 

Whitmer on Thursday approved the Michigan Parole Board's recommendations of three pardons and four sentence commutations, The Detroit News reported.

 

The commutations were for men who had been sentenced to life without parole for first-degree murder. Those commuted were: Patrick McNamee, 86, sentenced in 1968 in Calhoun County; William Hurt, 80, sentenced in 1967 in Wayne County; Larry Cross, 69, sentenced in 1979 in Wayne County; and Jamie Meade, sentenced in 1993 in Wayne County.

 

Whitmer said that Meade was sentenced as an accomplice to a crime that occurred when he was 19, and that his co-defendant, who was more culpable in the crime, was released more than 17 years ago.

 

The men who were pardoned were: Jerry Williams, who was sentenced in Macomb County in 1971 to life in prison for second-degree murder, plus 30 days for non-payment of alimony or child support; Lu Thanh Le, who was sentenced to probation for attempted larceny from a motor vehicle and attempted unemployment fraud in separate cases in Kent County from 2001 and 2014; and Rodney Gibson, who was sentenced to spend up to 47 years in prison for armed robbery, assault and larceny charges in separate Wayne County cases from 1985 and 1990.

 

Since Williams' release from prison, he has become an award-winning social worker, church deacon, and mentor for youth in his community, according to state officials. Le has since obtained educational degrees and become a volunteer with the Red Cross, his children's school, and in his religious community, per officials. Gibson completed his sentences, and the pardon will let him better support his children, officials said.

International study reveals glyphosate weed killers cause multiple types of cancer

 

A comprehensive carcinogenicity study on the world's most used herbicide, glyphosate, involving scientists from Europe and the U.S., has found that low doses of the controversial weed killer cause multiple types of cancer in rats.

 

In this long-term study, published in Environmental Health on Tuesday, glyphosate alone and two commercial glyphosate-based formulations, Roundup BioFlow (MON 52276) used in the EU and Ranger Pro (EPA 524-517) used in the U.S., were administered to rats via drinking water beginning in prenatal life, at doses of 0.5, 5, and 50 mg/kg body weight/day for 2 years.

 

These doses are currently considered safe by regulatory agencies and correspond to the EU Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI) and the EU's No Observed Adverse Effect Level (NOAEL) for glyphosate.

 

In all three treatment groups, increased incidences of benign and malignant tumors at multiple anatomic sites were observed compared to controls. These tumors arose in hemolymphoreticular tissues (leukemia), skin, liver, thyroid, nervous system, ovary, mammary gland, adrenal glands, kidney, urinary bladder, bone, endocrine pancreas, uterus and spleen (hemangiosarcoma).

 

Increased incidences occurred in both sexes. Most of these involved tumors that are rare in Sprague Dawley rats (background incidence < 1%) with 40% of leukemias deaths in the treated groups occurring in early life and increased early deaths were also observed for other solid tumors.

 

"We observed early onset and early mortality for a number of rare malignant cancers, including leukemia, liver, ovary and nervous system tumors. Notably, approximately half of the deaths from leukemia seen in the glyphosate and GBHs treatment groups occurred at less than one year of age, comparable to less than 35–40 years of age in humans.

 

"By contrast, no case of leukemia was observed in the first year of age in more than 1,600 Sprague Dawley historical controls in carcinogenicity studies conducted by the Ramazzini Institute and the National Toxicology Program (NTP)," stated Dr. Daniele Mandrioli, Director of the Cesare Maltoni Cancer Research Center of the Ramazzini Institute and Principal Investigator of the study.

 

The multi-institutional Global Glyphosate Study is being led by the Cesare Maltoni Cancer Research Center of the Ramazzini Institute in Italy and involves scientists from Boston College, George Mason University, King's College London, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Scientific Center of Monaco, University of Bologna, the Institute of Agricultural Biology and Biotechnology of the Italian National Research Council, the Italian National Institute of Health and the National Food Safety Committee of the Italian Ministry of Health.

Another Bad Day For Israeli Army In Gaza, 19 Troops Killed Or Wounded In Daring Attack

 

Five Israeli soldiers were killed and 14 were wounded after coming under attack in the area of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip late on July 7, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced.

 

Four of the slain soldiers served in the Kfir Brigade’s Netzah Yehuda Battalion, while the fifth served in the Gaza Division’s Northern Brigade.

 

According to an initial IDF probe, the troops were hit by a bomb planted on the side of a road during a late night ground operation in Beit Hanoun. The troops were operating on foot and were not inside a vehicle. During attempts to extract the casualties, the forces came under fire.

 

Among the 14 other troops who were wounded in the daring attack in Beit Hanoun, two were reported to be in serious condition.

 

The al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Gaza-ruling Hamas Movement, later claimed responsibility for the attack.

 

“The complex Beit Hanoun operation is an additional blow dealt by our valiant mujahideen to the prestige of the weak occupation army and its most criminal units, in an area the occupation had deemed safe after leaving no stone unturned,” the group spokesman Abu Obaida said in a post on Telegram.

 

“The battle of attrition our fighters are waging with the enemy from the north to the south of the Gaza Strip will inflict additional losses on it every day. While it recently miraculously succeeded in freeing its soldiers from hell, it may fail later, leaving us with additional prisoners,” he added.

 

The latest deaths brought the number of Israeli troops killed since the start of the large-scale offensive against the Hamas Movement in Gaza, codenamed “Operation Gideon’s Chariots,” to 30.

 

In total, Israel’s toll in ground operations in the Strip and along its border since the start of ground operations there has reached 449.

 

Israel launched Operation Gideon’s Chariots in May after calling up tens of thousands of reservists. The IDF said at the time that it wants to occupy 75 percent of Gaza in two months. As of July 4, at least 65 percent of the Strip had been captured, according to the military.

 

Once the operation is completed, more than two million Palestinians will be crammed in three isolated small zones in the southern, central and northern parts of the Strip.

They are making a fortune in strategic sectors. While this could be considered typical war profiteering it is also seen in a more positive light, since they ultimately support the army and the civilian population. According to the NZZ journalist, they are therefore“not like their classic predecessors, who recovered after the change of regime. They were mostly swept away by the war. The new generation does not buy TVs, newspapers or representatives, nor parties or private armies.”

 

NZZ writes that this new generation of oligarchs is not like the old one, and that “reins are held by President Volodymyr Zelensky.”

 

While Ukrainian authorities welcome most of the new oligarchs, this does not mean that they automatically have good relations with the presidential office. The paper notes that Kobolev, in particular, was known for his anti-corruption activities even before the war. As for the other four, the paper does not make any allegations of corruption, but Ukraine is known as a country where corruption is entrenched from the top to the bottom of the system. China’s fabrication pipeline controls the majority of mid-range and high-volume chips used in consumer hardware. Zhaoxin, Loongson, and HiSilicon have closed the gap against Western vendors.
