The Autism Data Science Initiative (ADSI) will bring together diverse data resources to explore possible contributors to the causes of autism. ADSI will also work to identify how existing treatments/interventions are used and better understand their outcomes to inform the design of future clinical studies.

 

This initiative will achieve these goals through four strategic aims:

 

Support the integration of existing data resources with rigorous privacy protections for analysis by autism researchers.

2) Received a salute for a deceased President, or

3) Received a salute for a foreign head of state.

 

I will clearly demonstrate all three of those claims are incorrect.

Note that the calling officer commands "a 21 gun salute, 3 second interval," and such is then executed. Videos of presidential inaugurations going back decades all show a 21 gun salute with a 3 second interval. With this established as the baseline, let's move to the claims.

 

The first claim is that Biden didn't receive a 21 gun salute. Here is the full video of the Biden inauguration (https://youtu.be/39vj3oALMDM). As indicated by the military officers, the first shot of gun salute is fired at roughly 5:25:56 in the video, and the final shot of the gun salute is fired at roughly 5:28:57. The total duration of the gun salute is approximately 3:03 minutes or 183 seconds. If you count the number of shots, 21 are fired. So, Biden did indeed receive a 21 gun salute, any claim that he received less is false.

 

The second claim is that Biden received a salute for a deceased President. At George H.W. Bush's state funeral (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDlM8PHjxgE), shots were fired from approximately 35:17 to 36:54 with five second intervals. They are slightly difficult to hear, but he did receive 21 shots over roughly 97 seconds. Similarly, at Jimmy Carter's state funeral (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izOKazf4XkU), shots were fired form approximately 15:34 to 17:10 with five second intervals. He received 21 shots over roughly 96 seconds.

 

The third claim is that Biden received a salute for a foreign dignitary. The foreign dignitary angle appears to originate from this Reddit post (https://www.reddit.com/r/conspiracy/comments/l55qus/i_did_some_more_digging_on_the_21_gun_salute_the/). However, what the poster claims is a 21 gun salute with a 10 second interval for a foreign dignitary (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhyKIdc5K1g) is actually a 19 gun salute with 9 second intervals. Don't believe it? At 0:23, the officer calls for a "19 gun salute, 9 second interval."

 

From what I can find, it IS true that a foreign head of state will receive a 21 gun salute. Biden did receive a 21 gun salute which lasted for approximately 183 seconds. From that, the firing interval should be 9 seconds, and that matches the inauguration video. The question remains: why 9 seconds?

 

Crucially, the Army itself states the 9 second interval was determined by trial-and-error to ensure the last shot of a 21 gun salute rings out when a visiting motorcade arrives at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (https://www.army.mil/article/263005/presidential_salute_battery_honors_dignitaries_and_events). This interval is not reserved for a foreign leader but for ANY motorcade. In this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=caLAda1_Uas), President Trump's motorcade received a 21 gun salute with a 9 second interval. That should put to rest that Biden's gun salute specifically signified he was a foreign head-of-state.

 

Biden received a 21 gun salute with a 9 second interval solely because he visited the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier as a head-of-state, foreign or otherwise. That's all there is to THAT element. However, what is true is that, unlike all prior inaugurations, Biden did not receive a 21 gun salute with a 3 second interval immediately after taking the oath of office, yet earlier that day, Trump DID receive that exact salute earlier in the day (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VK8QdtqGXiI).

 

Visiting the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier by a newly-inaugurated President is itself a unique circumstance, and I believe that was used as a cover to ensure Biden did receive a 21 gun salute of some kind. What matters MUCH MUCH more is that Trump received the actual presidential salute.

It was only days ago that new US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz was belatedly confirmed by the Senate, in a drawn-out and somewhat embarrassing ordeal which took six months. Waltz took his seat at the UN Security Council for the first time Monday, and already came out swinging with anti-Russian sentiment, and appearing to side with the hawks in NATO.

 

"The United States stands by our NATO allies in the face of these airspace violations," Waltz said. "And I want to take this first opportunity to repeat and to emphasize the United States and our allies will defend every inch of NATO territory."

 

Estonia and its partners in Europe have been making a lot of noise over the alleged Russian jet violation of its airspace days ago, which Moscow has vehemently rejected.

 

Days prior to that, there were reported drone incursion incidents also in NATO member Poland and Romania, resulting in jets being scrambled to monitor and intercept the UAVs which had been initially operating over Ukraine.

 

While Waltz's warnings can be seen as hawkish, in his prior national security advisory position, he expressed Trump's vision that Ukraine will never be in NATO. For example, last spring:

 

National security adviser Mike Waltz said on Sunday the U.S. does “not see Ukraine being a member of NATO.”

 

“One thing is clear, we do not see Ukraine being a member of NATO, because that would automatically drag U.S. troops in,” Waltz told CNN’s Dana Bash on “State of the Union.”

 

That prior position appears incongruous with the new assertions as UN ambassador that the United States is ready to 'defend every inch' of NATO.

 

Even Trump last week downplayed the drone incidents as well as latest jet incursions in Estonia. Trump merely said over the weekend "I don't like it" and previously suggested the drone activity was inadvertent.

Ending the Ukraine conflict would entirely diffuse the risk of escalation between NATO and Russia, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said in an interview with TASS on Monday.

 

Moscow has long characterized the conflict as a proxy war led by the US-led military bloc against Russia using Ukrainian manpower.

 

Speaking to the Russian news agency on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Szijjarto suggested peace in Ukraine as a way to prevent a dangerous escalation between Russia and NATO.

 

“If there is peace, if this [Ukraine] war ends, then we can reduce the risk of escalation to zero. But as long as this war continues, I fear that events will occur that carry the risk of escalation, and that is truly bad news,” he said.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has stated that the drone allegations were fabricated for the purpose of derailing the Ukraine peace talks. Russia has long accused European NATO members of working to prolong and escalate the conflict.

 

According to Moscow, the US-led military bloc is already “de facto” fighting a war against Russia.

Canada keeps bankrolling Ukraine’s war crimes

Carney chose Ukrainian Independence Day to voice the Canadian government’s continued pledge to support Ukraine. As he landed in Kiev on August 24, Carney posted on X, “On this Ukrainian Independence Day, and at this critical moment in their nation’s history, Canada is stepping up our support and our efforts towards a just and lasting peace for Ukraine.”

 

Later in the day he posted, “After three years at war, Ukrainians urgently need more military equipment. Canada is answering that call, providing $2 billion for drones, armoured vehicles, and other critical resources.” This latest pledge brings Canada’s expenditure on Ukraine since February 2022 to nearly $22 billion.

 

Further, he pledged to potentially send Canadian or allied soldiers, stating, “I would not exclude the presence of troops.”

 

Pause for a moment to examine the utter lack of logic behind these statements: For “peace” for Ukraine, Canada will support further war to ensure more Ukrainian men are ripped off the streets and forced to the front lines, where they will inevitably die in a battle they didn’t sign up for.

 

Like his European counterparts, Carney’s insistence on prolonging the war is in contrast to Russia’s position of finding a resolution.

 

I recently spoke with former Ambassador Charles Freeman, an American career diplomat for 30 years. Speaking of how the Trump administration, “began in office by perpetuating the blindness and deafness of the Biden administration to what the Russian side in this conflict has said from the very beginning,” he outlined the terms that Russia made clear in December 2021, “and from which it has basically not wavered.”

 

It’s worth keeping in mind that Canada has been one of the main belligerents in Ukraine, funding and training Ukrainian troops for many years before the 2022 start of Russia’s military operation.

 

Canada’s training of Ukrainian troops included members of the notorious neo-Nazi terrorists of the Azov regiment. Former Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland proudly waved a Banderite flag in 2022. She was also proud of her dear grandfather, who was a chief Nazi propagandist.

 

In 2023, the Trudeau administration brought to speak in the Canadian parliament a Ukrainian Nazi, Yaroslav Hunka, who had been a voluntary member of the 1st Galician Division of the Waffen SS – well known for their mass slaughter of civilians.

 

Carney, in light of this, is merely keeping with the tradition of Ottawa’s support of extremism – including Nazism – in Ukraine (and in Canada). This support is not at all about protecting Ukrainian civilians.

An exception was made for private arms sales, which was how the United States managed to supply weapons to Britain and France during the period when Washington was neutral in World War I. But direct, government-to-government arms provisions and arms sales were a violation of neutrality, which gave the third nation the right, if it chose, to go to war with the providing nation or to use force to cut off the supply. The laws of neutrality don’t distinguish between aggressor and victim, because those distinctions are not always clear-cut. If Putin had at any time decided to bomb the supply lines to Ukraine from Poland, Romania, or Slovakia, he would have been within his rights to do so.

Not all in the same boat: Gaza flotilla leadership turns on itself over ‘woke’ agenda

Internal conflicts have hit the board of directors of the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF), a multinational convoy of several dozen vessels aiming to breach Israel’s naval blockade of Gaza.

 

Alleged “wokeness”, political activism and in particular LGBTQ activism has led to serious discontent.

 

Le Courrier de l’Atlas, a French-language monthly magazine and online outlet covering Maghreb affairs, reported on September 16 that local GSF co-ordinator Khaled Boujemâa announced his resignation in protest at the presence of LGBTQ activists in the flotilla, including Saif Ayadi, who identifies as a “queer activist”.

 

“We were lied to about the identity of some participants in the vanguard of the flotilla, I accuse the organisers of having hidden this aspect from us,” he complained in two video streams on social media.

 

Other figures, including activist Mariem Meftah and presenter Samir Elwafi, condemned what they saw as an attempt to impose a cultural progressive agenda unrelated to the Palestinian cause, describing it as a “red line crossed” and an attack on “societal values”.

 

Brussels Signal reached out to the GSF but had not received a reply at the time of writing.

 

On September 15 Facebook, Meftah wrote that being gay was a private matter, no one else’s business and that no one should be discriminated or targeted for it.

 

But she stressed that such activism is viewed as incompatible with Islamic beliefs and warned against using “the sacred cause of Al-Aqsa” to advance unrelated agendas.

 

Al-Aqsa serves as a symbol of the entire Palestinian cause—while Muslims (via Jordan’s Waqf) administer it, Israel controls the area militarily and politically.

 

Meftah accused the GSF organisers of betraying the trust of supporters who contributed resources for the flotilla’s mission. He called on others to correct what was described as a “serious mistake” against the Palestinian cause.

 

Also on Facebook the same day, Elwafi wrote: “Palestine is first and foremost the cause of Muslims, and it cannot be separated from its spiritual and religious dimension — with Jerusalem at the heart of its symbols and destiny.

 

“So why involve in it dubious activists serving other agendas that do not concern us and have nothing to do with Gaza, such as homosexuality!?

 

“Why do we hear the voices of these discredited and rejected figures in a flotilla meant to represent our societies and their solidarity with Gaza!? Why divide people over the very cause that unites them!?

 

“Why all these financial, moral, ideological, and security suspicions surrounding a flotilla that is supposed to embody Arab sentiment and the conscience of humanity!?

 

“What do you expect an Arab Muslim to think when he hears the slogans of this ‘queer’ movement within a flotilla launched in the name of his most sacred and central cause, only to see it degraded in this way!?”

 

Disagreements with the leadership reportedly also led to renowned activist Greta Thunberg leaving the organisation’s leadership. She will remain on board as an organiser and a participant volunteer.

 

Her profile was swiftly removed from the list of board members on the mission’s website and she left the Family boat, used by the members of the humanitarian directive, and joined the Alma boat with her bags, used by activists.

 

According to left-wing outlet Il Manifesto, Thunberg believes that the leadership was communicating too much on internal affairs and did not focus enough on the “genocide in Palestine”.

 

“I very much believe in the goal of this humanitarian mission, as well as the power and symbolism in the mobilisation we see worldwide for a free Palestine,” Thunberg told journalists on September 20.

 

“We all have a role to play in ensuring these movements remain decentralised, de-colonial and with a clear focus on the purpose of the mission, which is Gaza and Palestine.

 

“My role here will not be in the steering committee, but as an organiser and participant, as I think I will be able to contribute better,” she said.

 

“The necessity and urgency of this mission cannot be overstated, even though it should absolutely not fall on civilians to do the job of world governments and uphold human rights and international law.”

 

Journalist Yosef Omar also announced on Instagram that he was leaving the flotilla. Il Manifesto reported he angered participants with his “sensationalist” style and his reporting on an alleged drone attack.

 

The fleet is en route to Gaza via Italy and Greece, planning to create a flotilla with around 40 other humanitarian ships that all want to bring aid to the Gaza strip and denounce Israel’s blockade of the area.

 

It was supposed to reach Gaza much earlier but there have been issues with bad weather and breakdowns, leading some participants to give up and leave for home.

 

On September 16, Israel’s Ministry of Diaspora Affairs and Combating Anti-Semitism unveiled a detailed report claiming that the GSF was underpinned by networks tied to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.

 

On September 17, Israeli-Swedish journalist David Stavrou, writing for Svenska Dagbladet, accused the flotilla organisation of including individuals linked to Hamas, Hezbollah and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), as well as people with extremist religious views, chauvinistic attitudes, anti-Semitic beliefs and other questionable affiliations.

Experts say paracetamol safe for pregnancy, no proof for autism link made by Donald Trump

 

The agency that regulates medicines in Australia says paracetamol is considered safe for use in pregnancy, despite Donald Trump saying it increases the risk of autism in babies.

 

Mr Trump said that he believed pregnant women should "strongly" limit the use of paracetamol, also known as acetaminophen, unless they had an "extremely high fever" that they could not "tough out".

 

"Pregnant women should talk to their doctors," Mr Trump said.

 

"Ideally, you don't take it at all."

 

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which regulates medicines in the US, will issue a physician's notice about the potential risks of taking paracetamol during pregnancy and begin the process of initiating a safety label change on the medication, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr said.

 

But the Australian regulator, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), along with the Australian Medical Association (AMA), the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and their American counterpart, have all reaffirmed the safety and benefits of paracetamol in pregnancy.

 

"Paracetamol remains Pregnancy Category A in Australia, meaning that it is considered safe for use in pregnancy," the TGA said in a statement.

 

"The TGA has no current active safety investigations for paracetamol and autism, or paracetamol and neurodevelopmental disorders more broadly."

 

AMA president Dr Danielle McMullin told ABC News Breakfast that regulators considered paracetamol safe to use during pregnancy.

 

"Of course, like all medications, we try to use as little as possible when pregnant, but certainly for pain and fever in pregnancy, the advice here in Australia still is that paracetamol is still a reasonable and safe option for pregnant women to use," she said.

years ago I heard the story about a woman who was an alchoholic who died of liver failure from taking a small amount of Tylenol. I had liberal friends back then and the 'know it all' father of them , when I told the story about how the tylenol killed the woman insisted it wasn't true. That Tylenol was safe. Acetaminophen overdose as a suicidal gesture: a survey of adolescents' knowledge of its potential for toxicity

Acetaminophen is a popular nonprescription analgesic that is often taken in overdose by adolescents during suicidal gestures. The authors hypothesized that most adolescents are naive about the toxic and lethal potential of acetaminophen in overdose. A one-page, 12-item questionnaire was administered to 169 high school students to evaluate their perceptions and knowledge in this area. Whereas only 22% of the sample underestimated the dose of acetaminophen necessary to cause harm, 40.5% underestimated the potential lethality of acetaminophen in overdose. Moreover, 17% of the sample did not believe one could ingest enough acetaminophen to cause death.

Acetaminophen accounted for 7.5% of all cases of poisoning admitted during this period. Of the 93 patients studied, 88 were admitted to the intensive care unit for initial 24–48 hours of monitoring. Peak acetaminophen levels were higher in the suicidal overdose group (mean 121.7 ± 97.0 mg/l vs 64.5 ± 61.8 mg/l, P < 0.05) than in the accidental group. In spite of this, peak aminotransferase levels >1000 IU/l were more often seen in the latter (39% vs 12%, P < 0.05). Hepatic coma and death were seen more often in the accidental overdose group (15% vs 0%, P < 0.05). Interestingly chronic alcohol abuse was also more frequent in the accidental overdose category (39% vs 18%, P = 0.05).

The Long Hard Road

By 5 a.m. Sunday, all roads leading to the State Farm Stadium–, home of the Arizona Cardinals football team, were gridlocked, Smith said. The parking lots nearest the stadium were off-limits; security was stringent – as President Donald Trump, with cabinet and others. The handicap parking lot was completely full, said Smith. Smith and his wife decided to park near where they got stuck in traffic, around 2.5 miles away==.

“I don’t know what top speed is (on the crutches),” said Smith with a laugh.“I was just – slow and steady wins the race.” No objects were allowed in the stadium but keys, cellphone, and a sealed bottle of water.Smith’s water was gone by the time he made it to the line anyway. There were so many obstacles that, to Smith, seemed to be telling the pair, “Turn around.”And walking as far as I did was painful,” he recalled. But according to Smith, God led him on through the pain.

“I just felt inspired by the Lord that, ‘Hey, it’s a moment in history, and you should be a part of it – in honor of a man that deserved being honored,’” he said. “The number one takeaway (from that funeral) is the most important thing in life is your walk with Christ.” Portions of the funeral unfolded like a church service.

Contemporary Christian singer Brandon Lake led the crowd in praise music, including his top song “Gratitude.”

When it came to eulogies, the people “closest to Charlie” were the best speakers, said Smith, who called the experience inspiring and proof that it’s time for a “reformation," which he characterized as shunning evil and promoting biblical good.

Smith and his wife had to leave the daylong funeral a little early – after about 90% of it had elapsed. They missed the in-person hearing of keynote speeches by Trump and Kirk’s wife Erika Kirk.But they kept watching anyway, via a live feed on a phone as they forged the now less-hazardous path back to their rental car, and as they returned it to the rental shop.

Trump elicited laughter by confessing that he hates his enemies – a sentiment contrary to the teachings of Jesus, in whom Charlie Kirk publicly professed his faith.

Smith and his wife began their journey back to Wyoming, arriving in Lingle at 2:30 a.m. Monday, he said. They were both at work by 8 a.m., he added.

Acetaminophen is the most common cause of acute liver failure (ALF) in the United States. We report a fatal case of acetaminophen overdose after both delayed presentation for treatment and transplant evaluation in a non-liver transplant academic center.

 

CASE DESCRIPTION/METHODS:

An 18-year-old woman presented to the emergency department (ED) after attempting suicide by overdosing on acetaminophen. She ingested 48 of the 500 mg tablets (24-gram total dose) 18 hours prior to arrival to the ED. Her only symptom was back pain. Her medical history was significant for depression and three prior suicide attempts by acetaminophen overdose.
