President Donald Trump has refused to rule out using the Insurrection Act to deploy the military against voters at the midterm elections.

With his approval numbers at record lows, Trump once again raised the prospect of an extraordinary use of presidential power as Republicans fight to retain control of Congress.

Asked in an interview with TIME if he would rule out declaring a state of emergency in the lead up to the midterms, the president replied: "I don't rule anything out or in. We'll see."

"You mean the Insurrection Act?" Trump then asked, referring to the federal law that allows presidents to deploy the military or federalize National Guard troops in order to quell what he deems an insurrection against the United States.

When TIME clarified yes, Trump replied: "No, I've never used it. I could use it. A lot of people think I should use it sometimes."

The comments come as the president embarks on a 32-day campaign blitz, with much of it through Republican territory, starting with a trip to Texas and Oklahoma on Thursday followed by Alabama on Friday and Ohio on Saturday.

The Texas trip could end up being awkward for embattled Senate candidate Ken Paxton, who is scrambling to make amends with Trump after leaked audio revealed him trashing the president's midterm convention in Dallas.

Trump also acknowledged this week that he had done a poor job selling his message to voters, raising the stakes of each campaign appearance.

"I've done a very bad job of explaining how good the country is doing," Trump told a supportive crowd at a Hispanic Heritage Month event at the White House.

"The country's doing better than it has ever done."

Told by TIME reporters in the interview that his polls "have never been lower," Trump replied: "They're fake numbers. I would beat anybody running today by 20 points. Your numbers that you have are fake. The pollsters are corrupt. They're almost as corrupt as the writers."

The latest Reuters/Ipsos poll has Trump with an approval rating of 32 percent and a disapproval rate of 61 percent.

The fact that Republicans are losing ground amid the president's war in Iran and affordability has also raised fears that he could end up taking drastic measures to cling to power.

A think tank co-founded by Facebook’s founding president wants an entirely NEW visa category to repopulate struggling American communities with foreign workers.

It’s called the HEARTLAND VISA.

They’ve already mapped roughly 1,700 potentially eligible counties—home to 58 MILLION Americans.

The Economic Innovation Group, co-founded by Sean Parker, wants at least 100,000 visas a year.

The pitch is explicit:

“In exchange for living in a Heartland Visa community, workers with sufficient earnings will gain permanent residency”

American communities become the destination. Green cards become the incentive.

The proposal targets places struggling with population decline, including rural communities and former industrial centers.

Foreign workers would have to live in a participating area—but could work for an employer located elsewhere.

The think tank also proposes replacing labor certification with an earnings test for the green-card pathway. That would remove the usual labor-market test from this proposed route to permanent residency.

The idea has already reached Capitol Hill.

Republican Senator Todd Young and then-Senator Joe Manchin introduced a version in December 2024. Supporters included AOL co-founder Steve Case, Americans for Prosperity and the Niskanen Center.

County officials would decide whether their communities participate.

AMD acquiring Fei-Fei Li’s World Labs AI firm in deal worth $8.2 billion

-AMD said it agreed to acquire World Labs, a San Francisco-based AI lab developing a so-called world model.

Advanced Micro Devices said Monday that it’s agreed to acquire World Labs, the San Francisco-based AI lab founded by industry pioneer Fei-Fei Li, for $8.2 billion.

The chipmaker, which previously invested in World Labs, said it’s paying for the startup in stock.

Li was a Stanford professor who previously worked for Google and led AI research. She will become AMD’s chief scientist and an executive vice president at AMD, which is chasing Nvidia in the market for AI processors.

World Labs is developing a so-called world model, which can be used to simulate 3D environments. In a demo presented by Li and AMD CEO Lisa Su earlier this year, the two executives showed a World Labs model called Marble creating a 3D scene out of a few images.

“Intelligent agents, whether it’s robots or vehicles or even tools, can learn inside very rich physics-aware digital worlds before they even need to be deployed into the real one, making them much safer,” Li said at the presentation.

In a social media post on Monday, Li called Su a “great friend.”

“We’re unwavering in our mission, and even more excited to continue building a world leading frontier research organization that is durable for the decades ahead,” Li wrote.

AI researchers expect that world models will be able to help develop robots and other physically grounded AI applications. AMD plans to keep World Labs separate from its chipmaking business until the transaction closes later this year.

The lab’s research on next-generation models will allow AMD to plan for what its AI chips need to be capable of years in advance.

The acquisition is the chipmaker’s second largest on record, following the roughly $50 billion it paid for Xilinx in 2022.

AMD is making its biggest splash yet in the AI M&A market at a time when U.S. tech giants are opening their wallets for top engineering and research talent, even for businesses that are relatively nascent.

OpenAI purchased Jony Ive’s AI devices startup io for about $6.4 billion last year to bring in the famed iPhone designer. Nvidia spent a combined $33 billion on AI chipmaker Groq and open-source platform Hugging Face, buying assets from the former in December and agreeing to acquire the latter this month. And Meta shelled out $14 billion in 2025 for a minority stake in Scale AI in a deal that brought in the startup’s founder, Alexandr Wang, to spin up a new AI division.

Broadcom to lend Anthropic up to $42 billion to lease chips, in latest circular investing deal

Anthropic (ANTH.PVT) has inked a series of deals with tech heavyweights ranging from Amazon to Microsoft to both finance and provide computing capacity for the company's AI models.

All three have raised concerns about circular financing, as each firm provides funding to Anthropic, which then uses it to purchase their services.

Now you can add Broadcom (AVGO) to the list. According to Reuters, which obtained Anthropic's IPO prospectus, Broadcom is lending up to $42 billion to Anthropic for its infrastructure buildout.

In turn, Anthropic is estimated to spend so much on Broadcom's technologies that the Claude developer will become the chip designer's largest compute customer by 2027.

In April, Anthropic announced it was teaming up with Broadcom and Google for a deal that would see Google provide its Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) capacity to Anthropic, with the supply coming online in 2027.

Anthropic isn't just purchasing chips, though. The company is also leaning on Broadcom for equipment leasing and financing, Reuters reports.

Wall Street analysts and investors have raised concerns about circular investing at multiple points throughout the AI buildout. Broadcom rivals Nvidia and AMD have also provided funding to their own customers, including OpenAI and Anthropic, which the labs then used to pay for access to the companies' high-powered chips.

The concern about such financial schemes is that if one domino in the row falls, it will cause a chain reaction that will decimate the AI trade and, as a result, the global equities markets that have benefited from and come to rely on such firms to keep the good times on Wall Street rolling.

California tech CEO arrested by feds for allegedly hiding $300M Chinese secret

Federal agents on Wednesday arrested a California tech CEO who's accused of smuggling more than $300 million in restricted AI chips into China.

Greg Lui, 38, aka "Yiu Kong Lui," of San Gabriel, faces a barrage of federal charges for allegedly selling Beijing a mountain of American-made AI graphics processors in violation of US laws, potentially threatening national security.

The California Post watched as the FBI and Department of Commerce agents arrested the high-flying tech boss in a stealth raid at the City of Industry headquarters of Earthmade Computers, a company Lui founded and runs, and which he allegedly used to conduct the profitable yet illegal scheme.

Agents tracked Lui as he drove a Tesla Cybertruck with a white wrap from his gigantic San Gabriel mansion to the Earthmade's shiny offices in a tidy industrial park, handcuffing him at gunpoint soon after he arrived at work. Lui didn't speak as he was placed in a vehicle to be taken in for processing.

AI is now used in nearly every aspect of modern warfare, and investigators said the advanced tech allegedly smuggled by Lui could've easily been put to use by the Chinese military.

"Protecting America's national security means keeping our advanced Super Intelligence technology from being used to strengthen our adversaries' military capabilities," said First Assistant United States Attorney Bill Essayli.

"This defendant allegedly used false paperwork and shipments through third countries to smuggle more than $300 million in export-controlled computer servers to China," Essayli added. We will aggressively prosecute those who put our national security at risk for profit."

Federal prosecutors say Lui and his co-conspirators used Earthmade to buy and send sensitive AI tech into China from 2023 to 2024, without the required licenses issued by DOC that are meant to promote US foreign policy and protect national security.

Instead, they shipped these items to countries such as Malaysia and Singapore, where no licenses are required, and then illegally re-exported them to China.

The items in question were high-end computer servers, containing processors made by Nvidia Corp, a Santa Clara tech company specializing in AI. According to federal regulations, such tech could make significant contributions to Chinese armed forces.

As part of the alleged scheme, prosecutors say, Lui and his conspirators used fake documents to show the potentially dangerous AI tech would be going to destinations that did not require an export license in orders they placed with suppliers such as Nvidia.

After making these orders, Lui hired freight forwarding companies to ship the processors to Malaysia and Singapore. Once the servers arrived in these locations, Lui worked with his conspirators to reship the items to China.

From January 2024 to October 2024, Earthmade received more than $176 million from two Malaysia-based shipment companies as part of the scheme, according to court papers.

Prosecutors say Lui executed the scam knowing what he did was illegal, and they have the evidence to prove it.

For example, prosecutors say, Lui emailed a conspirator in January 2024 saying a Malaysian transshipment company wanted to buy 70 computer servers with the controlled AI tech. In the email, he noted the laws against the sale of such tech, according to court papers.

Later that month Lui purchased 27 of the servers for roughly $7.6 million and sent the servers from LA to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Two months later, one of Lui's conspirators told a Malaysian official in an email that the servers had, in fact, been transshipped to China.

Prosecutors say Lui used a LA-based JP Morgan Chase account and Bank of America account to send and receive money to orchestrate the scheme.

Lui is charged with one count of conspiracy to violate the Export Control Reform Act, one count of smuggling and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering. If convicted he faces up to 50 years in prison.

Before his arrest Lui lived a luxurious lifestyle, recently completing an extensive renovation of the 4,300-square foot mansion on Walnut Grove Avenue that he used to house numerous members of his extended family.

Federal agents were seen conducting a search of the massive spread Thursday, recording video and carrying evidence from the nine-bedroom, seven-bathroom home that has two stories and just got new stucco and windows, a fresh driveway and other upgrades.

The US DOC, the Defense Criminal Investigative Service and the FBI are investigating the case.

According to his LinkedIn page, Lui has an eight-year career in tech that began with a stint at Amplitude Tech Hosting Service, a Denver-based firm specializing in database colocation.

In 2021 he founded Earthmade Computer, which also handles database colocation, in addition to computer processor procurement and export, according to LinkedIn.

Before his tech run, Lui was a restauranter who specialized in ultra-spicy Sichuan Chinese food. In 2012 he co-founded of Duo-Pot in Arcadia, a Chinese hot pot and dry pot joint that sold spicy frog dishes before it closed in 2021, according to LinkedIn.

Trump Accounts have auto-enrolled more than 60 million children, Treasury says

-More than 60 million children have been automatically enrolled in Trump Accounts, according to an announcement exclusively provided to CNBC.

More than 60 million American children under age 18 have been automatically enrolled in Trump Accounts, the U.S. Department of the Treasury said Thursday in an announcement exclusively provided to CNBC.

The Treasury proposed regulations on Tuesday to begin the auto-enrollment process for millions of children this week. By Thursday, the process had been completed, according to the agency.

Trump Accounts, also known as 530A accounts, officially launched on July 4 and are open to any U.S. child under 18 with a Social Security number. Children born from 2025 through 2028 may also claim a one-time $1,000 pilot program contribution from the Treasury.

“Millions of children have already enrolled in Trump Accounts. With automatic enrollment, over 60 million more eligible children now have an account ready to be claimed,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said.

The Treasury will also allow stock donations to Trump Accounts, which could boost “large-scale private giving,” according to the temporary regulations published this week.

“Wealthy founders and shareholders have been pushing to donate stock directly” because it skirts the capital gains taxes triggered by selling and gifting cash, said Ben Henry-Moreland, a certified financial planner with advisor platform Kitces.com.

Notably, the update allows Trump Accounts to hold donated individual stocks, a change from previous guidelines that only allowed diversified, low-cost funds. Donated stocks generally must be held for five years before being sold, according to the Treasury.

The latest Trump Accounts news comes roughly one month before the midterm elections as Republicans fight to defend slim margins in the House and Senate.

Automatic enrollment alone will not trigger the $1,000 deposit. Families must still elect to receive the government’s seed money if their children are eligible, according to the regulations published Tuesday.

“Kids who are eligible for the $1,000 government pilot contribution won’t receive that contribution automatically,” Henry-Moreland told CNBC.

To claim the account, parents or guardians should download the Trump Accounts app, verify their identity and relationship to the child, review the account information and accept the account terms, according to the Treasury.

Eligible children must have their account claimed to enable contributions from family members, friends and employers, and to receive the Treasury Department’s one-time $1,000 seed contribution.

Other Trump Account funds may also be available, depending on certain criteria. Tech CEO Michael Dell and his wife, Susan, committed $6.25 billion to provide an additional $250 for children born between 2016 and 2024 who live in ZIP codes where the median income is $150,000 or less. Those funds are specifically aimed toward lower-income children.

“The rulemaking essentially introduces the idea of auto accounts, created for every child under 18 with a Social Security number,” said Madeline Brown, senior policy associate at the Urban Institute, a Washington-based think tank. “This means that children won’t miss out on philanthropic gifts, like money from the Dells, or growth on those gifts, even if an account has not been activated for them.”

However, “it will still require families to ultimately claim their children’s accounts, and we don’t have many details on how that process will go,” she added.

Because Trump Accounts previously required families to “opt in,” widespread participation was challenging, particularly among lower-income households, according to Brown.

“The proposed regulations indicate an important step towards automatic enrollment, bringing the design of the accounts closer to the evidence base to increase participation,” she said. “This shift is particularly important given the low participation rates we have seen so far under the opt-in structure.”

As of mid-September, about 7 million to 8 million American children had been signed up for Trump Accounts, Bessent said at a hearing held by the House Financial Services Committee.

The new national auto-enrollment policy, paired with significant federal and private funding, has created “a window of opportunity,” said Timothy Flacke, CEO of the national nonprofit Commonwealth.

Before the automatic sign-up provision, just 5% of low- and moderate-income families had opened a Trump Account, according to Commonwealth’s recent report.

Commonwealth’s survey, which polled nearly 1,100 low- and moderate-income parents of children ages 10 and under, found that concerns about tax implications, impact on public benefits and an inability to contribute to the new investment accounts were key obstacles.

For Commonwealth’s analysis, low- and moderate-income households are those earning up to $80,000 annually, a threshold below last year’s median household income of $87,460, according to the Census Bureau’s latest data. The Commonwealth survey, which was fielded in July, had a margin of error of plus or minus 3%.

For some families, questions about eligibility, contribution limits and withdrawal restrictions were likely to discourage participation, “particularly among households with limited time, low financial literacy, or insufficient outside savings for emergencies,” according to a June 9 policy analysis by Adam Michel, director of tax policy studies at the Cato Institute, a Washington-based libertarian think tank.

“The result is a system used primarily by those best equipped to navigate it,” he wrote.

Lower earners often face barriers to government programs, Omeed Firouzi, a practice professor and director of the low-income taxpayer clinic at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law, told CNBC.

Many lower-income households “don’t have time and resources to hire people to navigate all this stuff for them,” he said.

Roughly 14.4 million children across income levels in the U.S. born between 2025 and 2028 are projected to qualify for the $1,000 federal seed funding, according to the research by Commonwealth. Of those, 5.8 million are from low- and moderate-income households.

Based on historical takeup rates for the federal earned income tax credit, an estimated 20% of eligible babies may not claim their $1,000 deposit, Commonwealth found.

The earned income tax credit, or EITC, is designed to support low- and moderate-income families by reducing the amount of tax they owe. Because it is a refundable tax credit, eligible taxpayers may receive a refund even if they owe little or no federal income tax.

But many filers don’t claim it due to “complicated rules” that can be “restrictive and cumbersome,” among other reasons, according to Temple University’s Firouzi. Nearly 1 in 5 eligible taxpayers missed the EITC, which averaged $2,916 for 2024 returns among those who claimed it, the IRS said earlier this year.

For Trump Accounts, a similar takeup rate would amount to about $2.88 billion in federal seed dollars that children living on low and moderate incomes risk missing out on during the pilot phase, according to Commonwealth’s analysis.

However, “part of the value here is not just the money,” said Commonwealth’s Flacke; it is “the power of knowing that money is there, watching it grow and carrying around the sense there is some financial future.”

Suspect arrested after alleged plot to attack Texas Capitol

A Texas man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly planning to attack the Texas State Capitol, according to officials.

Benny Caldera Jr., 40, was taken into custody early Wednesday morning at his home in Converse, Texas. He was charged with the felony offense of making a terroristic threat against a public servant and taken to the Bexar County Jail.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said in a news release it received "credible information" Tuesday about someone plotting a "violent attack" for Thursday on the Capitol.

DPS special agents worked alongside the FBI and local law enforcement agencies to investigate the threat.

Around 3 a.m. Wednesday, DPS SWAT arrested Caldera, who the agency described as the "main suspect," at his home and transported him to jail.

"Outstanding work by @TxDPS. Proud of our @FBISanAntonio team for standing shoulder-to-shoulder with our state and local partners. Within HOURS of the tip, @TxDPS had the main suspect in custody — with @FBISanAntonio and local law enforcement assisting. Threaten Americans or our institutions and law enforcement will move FAST," FBI Director Kash Patel wrote on X.

Caldera was initially released on a $75,000 bond from the Bexar County Jail. Later Wednesday, however, DPS said he was taken into federal custody by the FBI to face additional federal charges. Officials have not yet released details about those charges.

"Late this evening, Benny Caldera Jr., 40, was arrested by the FBI at the Bexar Co. Jail to face additional federal charges in connection with a possible planned attack at the Texas State Capitol. Caldera Jr. was then released from the Bexar Co. Jail into federal custody, where he will remain. For questions about the federal case, we would direct you to the FBI," DPS spokesperson Kevin Cooper said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

Officials did not outline the specifics of the alleged planned attack or the nature of the credible information they received. DPS also has not publicly identified any additional suspects.

DPS leadership also notified Texas state legislators about the threat and Caldera's arrest. The agency said the Capitol remained open for regular operating hours.

DPS will have an increased presence at the Capitol to protect employees, state officials and visitors.

The incident remains under investigation.

"Texas DPS and the FBI stopped a planned attack on the Texas Capitol. Texas will NOT tolerate threats of violence against our Capitol. Thank you, @TxDPS, for a job well done," Texas Gov. Greg Abbott wrote on X.

-The Group of Seven nations agreed to a “substantial release” of diesel stocks to combat rising fuel prices.

-The G7 members are France, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States. The European Union also participates.

The Group of Seven nations agreed Friday to release 100 million barrels of reserves to address surging diesel fuel prices, after the Trump administration pushed Europe to deploy their stocks.

The G7 leaders said the deployment will begin immediately and continue over four months with “a frontloaded substantial diesel release within the first 20 days” coordinated through the International Energy Agency.

“We will convene in the context of the IEA in the coming days to discuss the possibility of additional diesel releases as necessary,” the G7 leaders said in a joint statement. U.S. diesel prices hit record highs in September and remain elevated Friday at $6.37 per gallon on average.

The G7 members are France, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States. France currently holds the group’s presidency. The European Union also participates in its meetings.

President Donald Trump said moments before the G7 announcement that Europe had “agreed to release a massive amount of their heavily stocked Diesel Oil.” The world is facing a fuel supply crisis due to Ukraine’s attacks on Russian refineries and disruptions in the Middle East from the Iran war.

The Trump administration has been pressuring Europe to release diesel stocks as an alternative to the U.S. imposing an export ban. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Thursday that U.S. partners in Europe “should accelerate delivery on their existing commitments and make additional supplies immediately available to address ongoing disruptions.”

The G7 leaders agreed Friday to “refrain from export restrictions on energy and energy products between G7 countries and call on all producers to refrain from imposing bans that could exacerbate market tensions.”

Trump is facing mounting political pressure from Republican lawmakers to tackle soaring fuel prices ahead of the midterm elections in November.

The president said last week that he was considering an export ban, a move the oil industry and broader business community in the U.S. staunchly oppose. Trump subsequently seemed to lean against an export ban due to its potential impact on gasoline prices.

The prospect of the world’s largest diesel exporter implementing an outright ban raised alarm across the Atlantic. EU trade chief Maros Sefcovic said he had discussed diesel supplies and soaring prices with his counterpart U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.

“We have every interest in ⁠working together on lowering the prices, be it on diesel or also other products from oil and gas supplies,” Sefcovic told reporters in Milwaukee at the G20 trade ministers meeting, according to Reuters.

He added that any move from the U.S. to restrict diesel exports would be unexpected and have a negative impact on Europe’s economic outlook.

Energy strategists at Macquarie Group said Thursday it is understandable that the U.S. position on the global diesel crisis has taken on an apparent global dimension.

“The core issue the US faces is not a diesel problem. Nor is it a refined product problem. It may not even be a petroleum problem. It is a global energy problem,” Macquarie Group’s Walt Chancellor said in a research note.

“So what is the solution then? In short, more oil through the Strait of Hormuz and out of the Middle East. Anything short of that is really just shuffling deck chairs,” he added.

The Strait of Hormuz is a major throughway for the global oil trade that saw ship traffic stifled after the U.S. and Israel attacked Iran in late February. But this week it saw daily exports return to prewar levels.

Trump administration starts sending $500 Obamacare refund checks — who stands to benefit

-The Trump administration began sending $500 refunds on Wednesday to more than 950,000 Obamacare enrollees, an administration official told CNBC.

The Trump administration on Wednesday started sending $500 refunds to Obamacare enrollees the White House said were overcharged for healthcare by the Biden administration.

The Treasury Department is releasing these refund checks to more than 950,000 Americans in 30 states, according to an administration official. Some families with more than one “affected person” will receive multiple $500 checks or direct deposits, the official said.

Recipients will also receive a letter dated Sept. 30 from President Donald Trump, which is being mailed starting Thursday, the official said.

“For years, the Biden Administration overcharged you to fund the operation of HealthCare.gov,” Trump writes in the letter, which CNBC viewed.

The White House announced earlier this month that it would begin issuing refunds in October.

Trump’s letter describes the move as a way to “restore Affordability, protect your hard-earned money, and lower the Cost of Healthcare.”

Health policy experts said a $500 refund does little to offset ACA premiums that, in many cases, rose by several thousand dollars per year for enrollees who had previously received enhanced subsidies.

The 30 states that will receive the Obamacare refunds are: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

These states use the federal ACA exchange, while the others use their own state-run marketplace. The latter tend to be governed by Democrats, according to health policy experts.

The largest number of refunds will be issued in Texas and Florida, where 139,000 and 127,900 people will get refunds, respectively, according to federal data shared with CNBC.

The primary recipients of the refunds will be people whose income is over 400% of the federal poverty line, the Trump administration official said. That’s roughly $63,000 for an individual and $129,000 for a family of four.

These individuals lost all federal premium assistance when the enhanced subsidies disappeared this year.

However, “some people” between 100% and 400% of the poverty line will also receive a refund, the official said.

The $500 refunds are being paid from a “surplus” of “user fees” collected by the Biden administration, according to the Trump administration official. The White House said these excessive charges had been passed on to consumers during the Biden era through higher health insurance premiums.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services collects user fees from health insurers who participate in the ACA marketplace. Under Obamacare, healthcare exchanges can collect user fees from insurance companies to help fund ACA marketplace operations.

The fees went up and down during the Biden administration in different years — and were at times lower during the Biden era than during the first Trump administration, Oberlander said.

NASA Adds New Science Investigations for Moon Base

NASA selected three new scientific investigations and their payload suites to advance our knowledge of the Moon and help pave the way for building humanity’s first lunar outpost, Moon Base.

The suite of science instruments and technologies was selected through NASA’s Payloads and Research Investigations on the Surface of the Moon (PRISM) program and will fly to the lunar surface using the CLPS (Commercial Lunar Payload Services) initiative as part of the agency’s Moon Base Program.

The payloads will help researchers understand lunar resources, map natural shelters, and assess environmental hazards, laying the foundational groundwork for a safe and sustained human presence under the agency’s Artemis and Moon Base programs.

“NASA Science is building the ultimate interplanetary survival guide to ensure that science goes first to the lunar surface to provide our future astronaut crews with the vital information, resources, and safety precautions needed ahead of time to survive the night on the Moon,” said Nicky Fox, associate administrator, Science Mission Directorate, at NASA Headquarters in Washington. “These PRISM selections will directly help NASA minimize risks to our astronauts while maximizing our agency goals as we set up humanity’s first lunar outpost in preparation for sending the first astronauts to Mars.”

Lunar Environment Monitoring Station – South Pole (LEMS-SP):

The autonomous LEMS-SP instrument suite will serve as a long-term environmental and hazard monitoring station.

The instrument will be designed to help build a picture of the lunar environment by monitoring falling micrometeoroids and tracking the abundance of volatiles, or materials that can easily shift into gas, that drift into the Moon’s thin outer layer of gases.

Using a short‑period seismometer to detect seismic events, the instrument could deliver the critical hazard assessments needed to ensure the physical safety of Moon Base hardware.

The payload will scan beneath the Moon’s surface to see whether the Marius Hills Pit leads into a large underground lava tube. If it does, these natural underground spaces could offer future astronauts ready‑made protection from extreme temperatures and harmful radiation — important groundwork for safe, long‑term living on the Moon. Confirming these void spaces now could shift future habitat planning, offering natural, ready-made shelters that provide crucial thermal stability and shielding from deadly ionizing radiation and micrometeoroid bombardment.

Principal Investigator: Dr. Nathaniel Putzig, Planetary Science Institute

Depth Imager with Spectral and Color Optics (DISCO): 

The DISCO payload will provide the first direct, on-the-ground measurements of ice hidden in lunar micro-cold traps and also will lay the groundwork for lunar resource utilization and surface operations.

The payload will study how the lunar surface behaves, from how rocket exhaust disturbs the ground to how stable it is for mobility, while also pinpointing where ice exists and how much of it is there.

Together, this information will help NASA design safe surface operations and develop the technologies needed to turn ice into a usable resource for the future Moon Base.

Principal Investigator: Dr. Ariel Deutsch, NASA’s Ames Research Center in California’s Silicon Valley

“Each new PRISM selection strengthens our ability to deliver ambitious, transformative science to the lunar surface,” said Brad Bailey, director of the Exploration Science Strategy Integration Office in NASA’s Science Mission Directorate.

“These investigations exemplify how Artemis and Moon Base are expanding the frontier of lunar exploration, advancing innovative technologies, deepening our understanding of the Moon’s environment, and paving the way for future astronaut missions.”

NASA is increasing its cadence of lunar missions to build a Moon Base, delivering science investigations and technology payloads that contribute to American scientific preeminence, strengthen a sustained presence on the Moon, and advance future human exploration.

A storied NASA observatory could be weeks away from falling to Earth after failed rescue attempt

A daring mission failed to rescue NASA’s Swift telescope, and the nearly 22-year-old observatory will soon burn up in Earth’s atmosphere.

A celebratedspace telescope is rapidly dipping from its once-stable orbit and falling to Earth just shy of the 22nd anniversary of its launch.

The Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory will soon have to cease its science observations after a daring rescue mission’s attempt to boost its orbit failed over the summer.

Named after fast-flying birds, the telescope could quickly pivot to observe blink-and-you-miss-it cosmic events like flaring black holes.

The telescope was originally designed to study the most powerful explosions in the universe, called gamma-ray bursts, but scientists have also used it to observe other types of cosmic flashes, as well as asteroids and comets.

The 3,200-pound (1,452-kilogram) observatory is currently located about 200 miles (325 kilometers) above Earth.

But engineers estimate that once Swift driftsbelow 185 miles (300 kilometers) in early to mid-October, operating the telescope will become a challenge, according to NASA. Then, Swift will drop from orbit and is expected to burn up in Earth’s atmosphere during the plunge.

“While it’s possible some hardware from the Swift spacecraft may survive re-entry due to its size, the probability of debris causing significant property damage or physical harm to anyone is very small,” according to statement from space-tracking company LeoLabs shared with CNN via email. “More likely, as is the case with most debris that survives re-entry, it will fall into the ocean or on land that’s uninhabited.”

NASA didn’t respond to request for comment on the potential risks related to the observatory’s reentry.

Scientistshoped that a rapidly produced satellite called LINK, which was developed, built and launched by Arizona-based Katalyst Space Technologies in just nine months, could grapple the telescope and lift it into a stable orbit.

The rescue mission to boostSwiftfailed just a few weeks after launchingLINK in early July as the satellite spun out of control in space.

“From the beginning, this was a high-risk, high-reward mission,” said Shawn Domagal-Goldman, Astrophysics Division director at NASA, in a statement. “Without intervention, Swift was going to re-enter the atmosphere by year’s end.”

But NASA and Katalyst say LINK’s modified mission was not a wasted effort, with bothgroups learning lessons that could aid future space operations.

“And while we’ll be sad to see Swift’s mission come to a close, we knew this boost effort would be valuable to the agency on multiple levels — advancing U.S. spacecraft servicing technology, challenging us to meet unprecedented mission timelines, and testing how we operate satellites to extend their time in low Earth orbit,” Domagal-Goldman further stated. “We’re very proud of how quickly this team got so far, and we’re capturing lessons learned to ensure we’re ready to go even farther.”

A modified mission

Katalyst decided to forge ahead with its plan for LINK to rendezvous with Swift in mid-August, but as a demonstration rather than a rescue because of LINK’s ongoing orientation issues in space.

While Katalyst’s engineers were able to use the satellite’s thrusters to slow its unexpected spin and upload new flight software, the maneuverthat reoriented LINK in space also depleted its propellant.

“As a result, Katalyst and NASA together determined that LINK no longer had sufficient fuel to safely execute the planned capture and orbit-raising phase of the mission,” according to Katalyst.

The satellite came within 7.5 to 9 miles (12 to 15 kilometers) of Swift the first week of September, practicing how a futureservicing mission may approach a satellite or telescope — especially one like Swift, which wasn’t designed to be serviced in space.

LINK also deployed its three robotic arms, which were originally intended to grab Swift, and fired its three electric propulsion thrusters.

The satellite operated in space for 85 days before reentering Earth’s atmosphere on September 25, according to Katalyst.

“LINK was built to take on a problem that did not have an easy solution,” said Ghonhee Lee, CEO of Katalyst Space.

The Swift Observatory, which does not have an established observational replacement waiting in the wings, has served as an astrophysics multitool in low-Earth orbit since it launched in November 2004.

Swift’s mission scientists have slowly been turning the telescope’s instruments back on to collect data and make observations right up until the end — which is actually accelerating the observatory’s decline.

The instruments were shut off for months to reduce power use and keep Swift from sinking.

“When Neil Gehrels, Swift’s namesake, designed the observatory, nothing like it had ever launched,” said S. Bradley Cenko, Swift’s principal investigator at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.

“He would have celebrated that this boost effort was part of Swift’s legacy, that it allowed NASA to try something new and daring even though the outcome wasn’t guaranteed.”

The Gateway Pundit reported that on Wednesday, an Israel-bound Flydubai flight made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia after plunging thousands of feet following an attack in the cockpit.

Flight FZ1073 took off from Dubai for Tel Aviv with more than 170 people on board, almost all of them Israeli.

Less than an hour from entering Israeli airspace, Captain Smit Machchhar, an Indian pilot, was stabbed by his co-pilot, an Omani national.

After hearing screams from the cockpit, a group of passengers ran toward it, and one of the passengers broke down the door and subdued the co-pilot, who appeared to be attempting to damage the plane’s controls and crash the plane in Israel in a 9/11-style attack.

Two pilots traveling on board were able to land the plane safely.

Veteran pilot Captain Byron Bailey joined SkyNews Australia to discuss the attempted hijacking and, much to the dismay of the reporter interviewing him,shared the truth about the motive behind the failed effort.

Captain Bailey shared, “I’m not really surprised with FlyDubai operating Dubai to Tel Aviv and with Muslim pilots. Well, not all Muslim, but the captain was Indian. He was a real hero in this. I’ve flown in and out of Tel Aviv with the British airline a lot. I also flew many times out of Dubai, so I’m fairly aware of the whole situation.”

“But how deep do you want to go into it? Because I hear them saying, ‘Oh, we wonder what the motive is.'”

“Well, excuse me. In the Middle East, themotive is the fact that Islam calls for the death of Jews, all Jews. It’s part of the core belief of Islam.”==

“This Royal Commission, this joke they had in Australia recently about antisemitism, just ignores the reality of what is the core belief of Islam. That all Jews must die until the world becomes pure, free of Jews.”

Old timer senators “cling to a view of what the Senate could have been” and fail to operate in reality, Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH) said during a roundtable discussion with Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow and Washington Bureau Chief Matthew Boyle on Thursday evening.

An audience member asked the Buckeye State senator why the Senate opted to go on recess without taking action on the SAVE America Act. Further, the audience memberasked what needs to be done to get this bill across the finish line. Boyle broadened the scope by emphasizing the frustration many have with the Senate going on recess ahead of the midterm election.

“So the hope is that again, what can we see early next year to you know, after the election, assuming you guys hold the majority, to see those changes implemented?” Boyle asked.

Moreno briefly recapped the crux of the SAVE America Act, reminding the audience that it simply requires voter ID and proof of citizenship when registering to vote.

“Two things. That’s it. That’s all it is.We actually put forward a bill that said, how about just voter ID? How about when you show up at the ballot box and I say, ‘I’m Alex Marlow,’ they’re like, ‘Are you sure? Can I see an ID?’ I’m like, ‘Nope, take my word for it.’ Or in Minnesota, by the way, when you could say, ‘Hey, all these people behind me, 20 people, I vouch for them.’ And then, ‘Ok well, you guys can all vote.’ I mean, that’s totally insane,” Moreno said.

“Fifty-three Republicans out of 53 Republicans voted for that.Zero — not one single Democrat — voted for just simple voter ID,” Moreno said, noting that they lost support from three Republicans when they added proof of citizenship.

“Unfortunately, we lost three Republicans on that vote. Two of them are retiring, so we have virtually every Republican agreeing to the SAVE Act,” he said. “We need 60. We need 60 because that’s the threshold to end debate.”

“And unfortunately, unless we end that rule or modify the Senate rules, we can’t make that happen,” he said, walking through the reality of the situation. “Then you ask the question. Well, then get rid of the filibuster. We don’t even have close to 50 votes there. And again, why? Because we’ve had people that’ve been in the Senate for a long time, that cling to a view of what the Senate could have been, should have been, or was, but that’s not the reality of today.”

The senator added, “We’ve got to take a look at the rules. But look, we put forward a bill yesterday that would ban insider trading. Think about that for a second. What do you mean ban that we allow insider trading? Yes, we do. This bill would ban it. Every Democrat voted against it.”

Moreno used these Senate votes as examples of why conservative media is so important to get the truth out so the American people know what Democrats are really doing.

“This is why President Trump gets so angry at the media because they’re covering just the wrong things. They should be putting microphones in Democrats’ faces and go, ‘How would you vote against a bill that would ban insider trading? How do you vote against a bill that says you just have to prove who you are when you vote?'” Moreno added.

“Now, ICE has to do a much better job. Much better job. We can’t just let people come across the border. We can’t do that. But ICE has to do a better job,” he said.

“We need immigrants in this country. They’re some of the most amazing, hard-working people in the world. Now, we need to get rid of the crooked immigrants. You need to have ID when you go vote,” he concluded.

CNN published a deeply misleading story and headline suggesting that my diplomatic work in the Middle East somehow benefited investments in Israeli defense companies.

But CNN’s own reporting says otherwise. Buried behind a paywall, it acknowledges: “CNN found no indication that Kushner’s actions as a diplomat directly affected the investments reviewed.”

Phoenix is not a defense company. It is one of Israel’s largest publicly traded financial institutions, highly regulated and managing approximately $220 billion across thousands of investments.

Think of Phoenix as the Israeli equivalent of Vanguard or Fidelity. It manages the retirement savings of millions of Israelis. The savers don’t choose the individual investments, and neither do I. I have no role in deciding what Phoenix buys or sells. It has performed very well for Affinity and our investors, up more than five times since our initial investment.

Affinity is an SEC-registered investment firm. Our investment in Phoenix is public and dates to before President Trump was re-elected and before I returned to public service. Affinity does not own the defense companies highlighted in CNN’s story.

Those facts make for a less provocative headline, but a much more accurate story.

Misleading stories will not distract me from the work President Trump asked me to do: help end wars, bring people together and pursue peace. That work is too important.

When did I say either of those things? When you have to use lies in your argument you have no argument.

The fact of the matter is, We the People have the constitutionally protected RIGHT to use force against an officer making an unlawful arrest (violation of our 4th amendment right). The right existed before this nation was founded in common law, was recognized and upheld by the US Supreme Court as a right, and is protected by the 4th and 9th amendments to the US Constitution. The right is unalienable, and not just for me.
