Anons all this talk about red shoes and walking in blood got me thinking about symbolism. So I looked up the background on rolling out the red carpet.

Ordering her ladies to make a path for Agamemnon to walk from his chariot to the palace doors, she stated:

You women . . . Spread out those tapestries, here on the ground, directly in his path [which shall] be covered all in red so Justice can lead him back into his home . . . .

Having already paid once for earlier hubris, Agamemnon was afraid of further angering the gods by taking on such airs:

Don’t invite envy to cross my path . . . That’s how we honor gods . . . For a mortal man to place his foot like this on rich embroidery is . . . not without some risk.

Eventually, however, he relented to Clytemnestra’s pestering, albeit after first removing his sandals, and walked barefoot on the red carpet that led him into his palace . . . and eventual doom (shortly after this, Clytemnestra stabbed him to death in the bathtub)."

State Department: US Keeps 'Door Open' to Dialogue With Russia

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The United States is maintaining contacts with Russia on a range of issues, from Syria to arms control, a State Department official told Sputnik.

"This administration has been clear that the door to dialogue is open. We maintain channels of communications with Russia on Ukraine, Syria, arms control, strategic stability, and many other bilateral matter," the official said.

Bloomberg reported on Thursday citing a US administration official that US National Security Adviser John Bolton will discuss arms control and the situation in Syria when he meets with his Russian counterpart, Secretary of Russia's Security Council, Nikolai Patrushev in Geneva next week.

The meeting in Geneva between the two national security advisers is a follow-up of decisions made by President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin during the Helsinki summit.

On Wednesday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Bolton and Russian officials are indeed expected to hold talks in Geneva next week. The White House on Tuesday announced the meeting and said the focus would be on national security issues.

According to Bloomberg, Russian officials have been also trying to renegotiate the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty and the New START Treaty with the Trump administration.

Trump and Putin met for the first official summit in Helsinki, Finland on July 16. The two presidents had a one-on-one private conversation followed by an expanded meeting. The two leaders discussed the Syrian refugee crisis, situation in Ukraine, nuclear proliferation and Russia's alleged meddling in the 2016 US presidential election among other issues.

Ties between Russia and Ukraine soured after a crisis in Ukraine in 2014 prompted a referendum in its Russia-majority region of Crimea to reunite with Russia. The vote led to sanctions on Russia, which responded with a ban on certain imports.

Far-Left Anarchist Extremists Take Credit For Bombing Italian Populist Party Office

Italian far left extremists have taken credit for the bombing of an office of the populist Lega party, with police finding and disarming a second explosive device.

The office, located in the city of Treviso near Venice, was targetted by a rudimentary explosive device on Sunday which did some damage to the door at the entrance of the building but failed to harm anyone, Corriere Della Sera reports.

A second bomb was found at the scene by authorities following the first explosion. The second device is believed to have been intended as the main explosion, the first being used to attract authorities and others into the area to be harmed by a second blast containing nails and other metal fragments.

In reaction to the bombing, Lega leader and current Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini commented, “They try to stop us, but violent delinquents do not scare us. Let’s go forward, stronger than before.”

Italian investigators were able to link a far-left anarchist organisation to the bombing following the discovery of a post from the 12th of August which claimed responsibility for the attack.

The statement, which was published by Italian newspaper Il Giornale, claims the motive for the attack was combatting “racism and exploitation.”

“Direct action makes us clear as to why and how. For an internationalist, rebellious, Anarchist solidarity! For a world without borders or authority!” the group, known as the “Santiago Maldonado Cell,” added.

The bombing is not the first claimed by the far-left group. In December of 2017, the group claimed responsibility for the bombing of a Carabinieri barracks in Rome declaring a “war on uniforms.”

The Rome public prosecutor noted at the time that the investigation was being treated as an act of terrorism.

Far-left terror has seen a surge in the very recent past with anarchists, such as members of Antifascist Action or Antifa, being caught making bombs and even taking credit for the firebombings of Turkish mosques.

The far-left extremist group, which has been praised by some in the mainstream media, also released a terror handbook for “riot tourists” in Germany earlier this year encouraging attacks on offices of the German populist Alternative for Germany (AfD). Another text called PRISMA, which was linked to through the handbook’s website, also showed detailed plans of how to make remote-detonated bombs.

French Antifa, fighting the Turkish government in Northern Syria, have also threatened violent action against the state following a series of evictions of activist squatter camps. Members of the group claimed they would target police, intelligence officials and others.

I know the above post discouraged some anons....but let's think on this a little. I beleive

we've got a front row seat to the silent war of cat and mouse. On 6/10 we had a missle (ICBM)

Catholic League tweet denying sexual abuse crisis met with scorn on social media

The Catholic League denied there was an ongoing crisis over child sex abuse allegations in a Pennsylvania grand jury report, and the social media message was met with disgust and scorn.

“There are many vicious critics of the Catholic Church…”

The Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights has been a vehement defender of the church’s theology and agenda, but their tweet denying the crisis from the sexual abuse report was not greeted warmly.

“There is no on-going crisis—it’s a total myth,” the tweet read.

The account linked to a counterargument from the Catholic League president, Bill Donahue.

“Importantly, in almost all cases,” Donahue argued, “the accused named in the report was never afforded the right to rebut the charges. That is because the report was investigative, not evidentiary, though the report’s summary suggests that it is authoritative. It manifestly is not.”

Donahue goes on to claim that the rate of substantiated abuse in the Catholic church is .005 percent, or one of every 200 Catholic clergymen. In another section, he accuses the media of covering the role of homosexual clergymen in the abuses, in favor of blaming the church.

“Here is what’s going on,” he concludes. “There are many vicious critics of the Catholic Church who would like to weaken its moral authority, and will seize on any problem it has to discredit its voice. Why? They hate its teachings on sexuality, marriage, and the family.”

The summation was met with scorn from many on social media.
