White House Sees No Need to Balance Pro-Israel Bias on Peace Plan

 

Officials not interested in being an 'honest broker'

 

While the details of President Trump’s “deal of the century” peace plan for Israel and the Palestinians are still secret, officials offered some spoiler alerts, saying that the White House feels no need to try to offer a balanced plan, or do anything to show themselves to be honest brokers.

 

Instead, they say the administration wants to underscore that it is “proudly supportive of Israel,” and feels no need to balance the peace proposal with anything that the Palestinians might want, because they don’t see an “equivalency” between the two.

 

Which is, of course, not how deals end up being made. This is, rather, a continuation of the US policy toward the Israel-Palestine conflict for decades, initially talking up a fair deal but finally offering a plan that would rubber stamp Israeli policy, and offer the Palestinians effectively nothing in return.

 

When the plan is offered, the Palestinians can be expected to reject it, because it is admittedly going to be biased against them. Then administration officials can condemn the Palestinians for not taking part in the US-led process, and punish them further.

 

The irony of this is that, because an Israeli election is just around the corner, if the proposal is offered before the vote the far-right Israeli government will also spurn it, no matter how in favor of Israeli policy it is, because any deal would conceivably give the Palestinians something, even if it’s by accident, and that would open up other Israeli parties to attack the government as weak.

Qatar takes delivery of first French-built Rafale jet fighter

 

Qatar took delivery of the first of 36 Rafale multi-purpose fighter jets it ordered from French manufacturer Dassault.

 

The hand-over ceremony on Wednesday in Merignac, in southwestern France, where the planes are built, was attended by Qatar Defence Minister Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah and Dassault Aviation chief Eric Trappier.

 

Qatar ordered 24 of the fighters in 2015, adding 12 more last year. It also has an option to buy 36 more.

 

The twin-engine fighter has been in service with the French Air Force since 2004. France has also sold Mirage F1, Alpha Jets and Mirage 2000 fighters to Qatar.

 

After failing to sell the Rafale abroad for several years, France finally won a contract from Egypt in 2015 for 24 jets, followed by the sale to Qatar.

 

In September 2016, India also agreed to buy 36 of the fighters.

 

Qatar has upped its defence spending after being diplomatically isolated by its Gulf neighbours.

 

Since June 2017, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt have imposed a boycott on Qatar, accusing it of backing terrorism and being too close to Iran.

 

Qatar denies the allegations and has accused the Saudi-led bloc of aiming to incite regime change in Doha.

Poroshenko can’t win presidential election without vote rigging, warns former president

 

Ukraine’s incumbent President Pyotr Poroshenko won’t be able to win the upcoming presidential election without electoral fraud, former President Viktor Yanukovich told a news conference in Moscow on Wednesday.

 

"Today, when the presidential election is round the corner, and then the parliamentary election will take place, we must say definitely that the regime will be doing everything at whatever the cost to engage all the available resources, including administrative, and different technologies that will help rig the election, as it will be impossible for President Poroshenko [to win] without electoral fraud," Yanukovich said.

 

Poroshenko’s chances are zero also because he is a businessman, not a statesman, he went on to say. "Gaining personal benefits and profit is his first priority and he would give anything for it," Yanukovich said.

Virginia AG Mark Herring Admits Wearing Blackface in College

 

Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring (D) revealed to black lawmakers in an emergency meeting Wednesday morning that he wore blackface at a college party in 1980.

 

Herring issued a statement saying he wore brown makeup and a wig in 1980 to look like a black rapper during a party as a 19 -year-old undergraduate at the University of Virginia.

 

The revelation further roils the top levels of Virginia government. Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam (D) and Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax (D) are already facing controversies, and Herring would be next in line to be governor after those two men.

 

Herring said he and two friends dressed up to look like rappers they listened to, including Kurtis Blow.

 

“It sounds ridiculous even now writing it. But because of our ignorance and glib attitudes – and because we did not have an appreciation for the experiences and perspectives of others – we dressed up and put on wigs and brown makeup,” he said.

Man who crossed U.S.-Canada border with child porn wore ‘I am a child molester’ shirt

MARQUETTE, MI – A man who crossed the United States-Canada border with child pornography has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison.

 

Jason Henry Bishop was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Judge Robert J. Jonker on Tuesday. The court also ordered that Bishop be supervised for 10 years following his release from prison, must pay a $40,000 fine and pay $5,100 in special assessments.

 

The investigation into Bishop started when he crossed the U.S.-Canada border in Sault St. Marie on Jan. 27. Canadian Border Patrol officials became suspicious and sent Bishop for a secondary inspection.

 

During the secondary inspection, they located several photos of child pornography.

 

CBP forwarded Bishop’s electronic devices to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations, which recovered child pornography and images Bishop took of himself in a shirt that reads “I am a child molester.”

 

Another recovered photo features a self-made poster that reads “I love child porn.”

 

A review of Bishop’s criminal history uncovered that he solicited sex with underage children on at least three prior occasions, according to a news release.

 

“Today's significant prison term against a convicted child predator should serve as a clear warning for those who target and prey on children,” said Steve Francis, special agent in charge for HSI Detroit.

 

“The aggressive investigation and prosecution of child predators remains among HSI’s highest priorities.”

 

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Paul Lochner and Davin Reust.

Israelis will go the polls on April 9th, in what I consider to be a good omen: It would be the 154th anniversary of Lee’s surrender at Appomattox Court House, and we certainly could use any victory over racism. The results as predicted this early in the campaign, however, are anything but hopeful.

 

The latest polls show Labor, the old liberal-Zionist central-left party, losing approximately 75% of its seats, standing now at 6-8 seats, and a gentle push may drive it under the Blocking Line of four seats, which means the party will lose all seats. Things look bleak for Meretz, the only party on the Jewish left. Usually, Meretz would gain at Labor’s loss, particularly as Labor took a right-wing path under its current feckless leader, Avi Gabai; but now Meretz, too, is hovering near the Blocking Line. It has five seats at the moment, was expected to make a modest gain to seven seats, but now the polls indicate it will gain four. A slight opposing wind may do just that. There’s a real chance both Meretz and Labor won’t be present in the next Knesset.

 

(Full disclosure: I am a long-standing member of Meretz, voted for it since 1988, and was somewhat comically elected as a party center member from Petah Tikva – Petah Tikva elected no male center members, so I was jumped up in the list as a sort of affirmative action.)

 

What happened? Several things, but the trigger for the disappearance of the Zionist left parties is the arrival of Gen. Benny Gantz, the butcher of Gaza, at the head of a new party, Gantz, who published videos extolling the carnage he inflicted on Gaza in the 2014 massacre known as Protective Edge, is running under two slogans: “Israel before everything” and “neither left nor right.” He shot to over 20 seats in the polls, and is considered to be a better candidate for prime minister than Netanyahu (by a slim margin: 43-42).

 

And this is the crux of this election. Gantz seems (for now, at least) to have a real shot at dethroning Netanyahu. Ever since the elections of 2009, removing Netanyahu became a fetish of the center-left: everything was sacrificed to the removal of this boogieman. One feckless leader of Labor and the late, unlamented, Kadima after another promised they’d bring him down. Their main way of doing so was to turn more and more rightward. They stopped mentioning the occupation, since they believed this issue held no interest with the electorate – and, worse, marked them as “leftists.”

 

Being called a “leftist” has become a swear word for over a decade now. This scared Labor and the various, ever-shifting center parties. Labor tried, in 2013, to officially remove all traces to the occupation, and focus only on social issues. This failed badly.

Sloppy 10Y Auction Tails, Bid To Cover Tumbles

 

One day after a surprisingly strong 3Y auction priced, stopping through the When Issued for the first time after 10 consecutive tails, moments ago the US Treasury sold $27BN in 10Y paper in what can only be described as a poor, sloppy auction, which stopped at 2.689%, which while the lowest yield for a 10Y issue since January 2018, tailed the When Issued 2.681% by 0.8bps.

 

The internals confirmed the weak nature of today's auction, with the Bid to Cover sliding from 2.51 in January to only 2.35, which was tied with the lowest since February 2018; it was also well below the 6 month average of 2.49.

 

Finally, looking at the buyside, there was a distinct lack of enthusiasm by foreign buyers, with the Indirects taking down just 59.5, which while above last month's weak 56.9%, was below the recent average of 63.9%. At the same time, the Direct bid tumbled from 20.8% to 12.2%, the lowest since December if above the 10.5% average, which however was dragged down by November's surprisingly low 1.2% takedown. Dealers were left with 28.4% of the final allotment, the highest since October.*

 

Overall, a poor auction - one which dragged the bond market modestly lower - and which may reflect the recent sharp drop in yields, and while investor demand is certainly there it just may not be as strong when the 10Y yield is below 2.70%, which as various strategists have noted is a concerning sign as it disproves any speculation that the economy is on a growing trajectory and merely sets the stage for further yield curve flattening.

Most people are not aware of it, but the state of war declared on July 31, 1914 in accordance with Article 68 of the Reich Constitution has never been lifted so what is known as First World War hasn’t ended legitimately at no time.

A ceasefire was subsequently concluded, the Treaty of Versailles in 1919, which bears the heading „Treaty of Peace“ instead of „Peace Treaty“, was not signed by the constitutional representative of the German Reich under international law, it was also signed under protest of the non-legitimate German representatives. From a legal point of view the so-called Second World War was only the termination of the 1918 ceasefire.

 

According to the constitution, only the German Emperor is entitled to represent the Reich under international law – he declared the state of war, only he can end it again. On October 28, 1918, US President Wilson responded to the offers of peace repeatedly made to the allied Entente by the German Reich leadership throughout the war by announcing that the Allies would make no peace with the constitutional government of the Reich. This hidden call for a coup is an intervention contrary to international law, the effects of which we still feel today.

The course of the following developments is well known: On November 9, 1918, Reich Chancellor Max von Baden announces the abdication of the Emperor without the Emperor actually having had one. Today we would call that fake news: The – most probably faked – abdication of the King of Prussia and thus of the German Emperor is said to have actually taken place on 28 November 1918, but if you take a closer look you will see that the legitimacy under constitutional law was not preserved here either: On the one hand, the abdication of the King of Prussia must take place unconditionally, i.e. by his own decision and will, and on the other hand, a Prussian government act, i.e. the contrasting signature of a minister, is necessary for the government act to become valid. The abdiction shows only one signature: Wilhelm’s. (see: Wilhelm Bazille – Our Imperial Constitution, §24 II. Termination of the Government and §22 VI. The Ministerial Countersignature – Contrast Signature). The emperor, at that time in the headquarters of Spa, far away from the imperial capital, was forced under these circumstances to go into exile, where he would remain until his death. A coup is never legal: Right can’t grow out of injustice.

 

In those days, almost exactly 100 years ago, the subject of international law, the German Empire, has become incapable of acting in the absence of its representative under international law. Since then, the German Reich, which has been kept in the state of war, has become the pledge of geopolitical interests of supranational powers. Anyone who knows that the League of Nations was created within the framework of the Treaty of Versailles and that this very League of Nations transferred control of Palestine to England with the Palestine Mandate in 1922 knows the connections. It is the little known part of history – because it is the decisive part of history.

 

A peace treaty, the name suggests it, creates peace – in this case for the German Reich. Only the German Emperor has the legitimacy to sign a peace treaty for the Reich; according to the Constitution of the Reich, he is the representative of all Germans under international law. But since 1918 there has been no emperor left. The title emperor, which is the presidency of the German constitutional union called Reich, belongs to the king of Prussia. The king of Prussia is determined by agnatic linear order with primogeniture order (right of descent and first birth) in the house of the Hohenzollern. However, the Hohenzollern have abdicated – whether lawful or not, remains to be seen. In the event that no king exists or is capable of government, the Constitution of the Kingdom of Prussia provides in Articles 56-58 for the person of the regent. For the present situation one can assume these basic conditions: Although there is an Agnat of full age, he is permanently prevented from governing by being a prisoner of war.

Art. 58 The regent shall exercise the power vested in the king in his name. The same shall, after the establishment of the Regency, swear an oath before the United Chambers to keep the Constitution of the Kingdom firm and unbreakable and to govern it in accordance with it and the laws. Until this oath has been taken, the entire existing Ministry of State shall in any case remain responsible for all acts of government.

 

Constitutional law describes the function of the Regent as that of the Administrator of the Kingdom in the name of the King with all the sovereign rights due to the King of Prussia. But that is not all: The Regent of the Kingdom of Prussia is also entitled to exercise all imperial rights which the Crown of Prussia is entitled to according to the Constitution of the Reich. In short: The Administrator of the Kingdom of Prussia is also the legitimate representative of the Emperor in the Empire – and thus also entitled to declare peace for the Empire. The Administrator of the Kingdom of Prussia can thus bring peace to all Germans and the entire world. (see Dr. Ludwig von Rönne – The Constitutional Law of the Prussian Monarchy, Volume 1, 1899, Page 234)

 

This should make it clear why Winston Churchill said at the 1943 Tehran Conference: „I want to stress that Prussia is the root of all evil.“

 

The German nationals of the Kingdom of Prussia hold the key to world peace in their hands with articles 56-58 of their constitution!

 

All Prussian nationals are therefore urgently called upon to register with the Prussian Institute of Bismarcks Erben and to participate actively in the legal reorganization of the Kingdom. Through the municipal organization on the basis of state self-administration, the state structures can be created which make possible the election of a regent and imperial administrator and thus of a representative under international law for all Germans. The Prussians have it in their hands! They just have to do it!

 

All other German nationals are urgently called upon to inform about the actual legal situation in the German-speaking but especially also international area!

 

The world has been burning for 104 years.

Adam Schiff Showboats, Republicans Call His Bluff On Russia Probe

 

Republicans with the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Tuesday submitted a motion to immediately publish dozens of witness transcripts in the Russia Trump investigation that were turned over for declassification review, stating it is “part of the process of publishing them for the American people to see.” Though the transcripts are unclassified, the Committee had sent them to the Intelligence Community for a review as a precautionary measure.

 

Let’s do it. Make the witness transcripts public and let the cards fall where they may. The committee already voted to make the documents public on a similar motion in September, 2018, when it was then led by House Republicans.

 

The Republican motion was in response to now Democratic Chairman Adam Schiff’s proposal to turn over all the witness interviews to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s office for review. Those witness interviews, however, are already available to Mueller.

 

Remember, the transcripts were given to the Executive Branch for declassification review months ago. Mueller had access to Roger Stone’s transcript. When Mueller decided to press charges against Stone, the only stipulation for the Special Counsel was that they had to ask for another official copy of the transcript from the committee. The committee obliged and sent the second copy of the transcript to the Justice Department.

 

So why is Schiff making this such a big issue? He’s showboating.

"In fact," noted Gardner in a blog post on ITEP's website on Tuesday, "the company reported a $22 million federal income tax rebate." So even if you paid Netflix nothing last month because you chose not to subscribe—or maybe you were enjoying an introductory free-month trial—you still didn't make out better than the online giant.

 

Citing the specific impact of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which the Republicans in Congress passed and Trump signed into law in December of 2017, Gardner explains that because companies are finally releasing their complete 2018 earnings reports—which Netflix did last month—the public is finally getting a look at just how well some of the nation's most profitable corporations are making out.

 

While GOP leaders like former House Speaker Paul Ryan sold the bill to the voting public by promising lower corporate rates would be offset by the closure of loopholes, Gardner says Netflix is a test case for how bogus those promises were. "Many corporations are still able to exploit loopholes and avoid paying the statutory tax rate," he explains, "only now, that rate is substantially lower."

 

He continues:

 

Netflix's tax avoidance should come as no surprise to those who followed the debate leading up to the passage of the new tax law: A 2017 ITEP reportidentified Netflix as one of 100 profitable Fortune 500 corporations that paid a 0 percent federal income tax rate in at least one profitable year between 2008 and 2015. In fact, Netflix did it twice, and paid an average tax rate of 13.6 percent over the eight-year period, meaning that the company sheltered more than half of its profits from the 35 percent federal income tax rate in effect at the time.

 

Leading up to the 2017 tax battle, the hope of reformers was that Congress would take a fiscally responsible approach and weed out loopholes that made Netflix’s tax avoidance possible. Instead, GOP leaders who championed the law and President Trump chose to focus on cutting the corporate tax rate as far as possible—from 35 to 21 percent—while leaving in place special breaks and loopholes.

 

"Netflix appears to be every bit as unaffected by corporate tax laws now as it was before President Trump's 'reform,'" Gardner concludes. "This is especially troubling because Netflix is precisely the sort of company that should be paying its fair share of income taxes. With a record number of subscribers, the company’s profit last year equaled its haul in the previous four years put together. When hugely profitable corporations avoid tax, that means smaller businesses and working families must make up the difference."

So, since when have US troops been "pushing back against Assad" in Syria? Last we checked, US troops were in eastern Syria in support of the Kurdish-dominated Syrian Democratic Forces fighting against Daesh, which is the mutual enemy of the US, the Kurds and Assad. When Trump announced US troops were being withdrawn, he justified it by saying Daesh has been defeated — and indeed it has, being restricted to only two small villages on the Euphrates River, near the Syrian border with Iraq.
