Trump vows to release FISA docs now that Mueller probe is concluded, slams 'treasonous' FBI

 

President Trump, in an exclusive wide-ranging interview Wednesday night with Fox News' "Hannity," vowed to release the full and unredacted Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants and related documents used by the FBI to probe his campaign, saying he wants to "get to the bottom" of how the long-running Russia collusion narrative began.

 

Trump told anchor Sean Hannity that his lawyers previously had advised him not to take that dramatic step out of fear that it could be considered obstruction of justice.

 

"I do, I have plans to declassify and release. I have plans to absolutely release," Trump said. "I have some very talented people working for me, lawyers, and they really didn't want me to do it early on. … A lot of people wanted me to do it a long time ago. I'm glad I didn't do it. We got a great result without having to do it, but we will. One of the reasons that my lawyers didn't want me to do it, is they said, if I do it, they'll call it a form of obstruction."

 

Trump added: "Frankly, thought it would be better if we held it to the end. But at the right time, we will be absolutely releasing."

 

Trump also accused FBI officials of committing "treason" – slamming former FBI Director James Comey as a "terrible guy," former CIA Director John Brennan as potentially mentally ill, and Democrat House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff as a criminal.

 

Redacted versions of FISA documents already released have revealed that the FBI extensively relied on documents produced by Christopher Steele, an anti-Trump British ex-spy working for a firm funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign and Democratic National Committee, to surveil Trump aide Carter Page. At least one senior DOJ official had apparent concerns Steele was unreliable, according to text messages exclusively obtained last week by Fox News.

 

The leaked dossier, and related FBI surveillance, kickstarted a media frenzy on alleged Russia-Trump collusion that ended with a whimper on Sunday, when it was revealed Special Counsel Robert Mueller's probe concluded finding no evidence of such a conspiracy, despite several offers by Russians to help the Trump campaign. So, Trump just mentioned criminal justice reform, and I'd like to throw in my 2¢…Without divulging too much information regarding my qualifications on the topic, I'd like to discuss recidivism, and life-long labels that I believe contribute to it.

 

Regarding the Scarlet Letter of the justice system, the Felon, this is a life-long label that simply tells the law breaker, "You will never, in your entire life, be anything other than a Felon.". Sure, they can have other successes in life…raising a close-knit family, successfully entering a (limited) workforce, positively contributing to the betterment of their community…otherwise proving their rehabilitated status. They have a social security number, pay their taxes, and perhaps…help their landlady carry out her garbage. However, they can feel it when they look out their window or when they turn on their television. They can feel it when they go to work…when they go to church…when they pay their taxes…like a splinter in their mind. ( ; - j )

 

It's no secret that if you repeat something over and over again, you'll start to believe it…the same holds true in this scenario. If you continually remind someone that they are a Felon, with no hope of redemption, with no hope of ever being anything other than a second-class citizen, inalienable rights stripped away for the remainder of your life…well, they'll eventually start to see themselves as nothing more than that. This form of punishment is often worse than incarceration…because it removes ALL hope of ever escaping its bonds. That, in itself, is cruel.

 

Of course, there are those of you out there that will disagree, have never had momentary lapses in judgement, and will proclaim, "If you can't do the time, don't do the crime!". You're absolutely correct, and being labeled a Felon should act as a deterrent…but NO ONE can do the time. Even after death, your legacy of all of your post-conviction successes will forever be tarnished and overshadowed by this Scarlet Letter. The 19 year old naive "kid", that was convicted of a "non-violent" financial crime of passing a bad check because he hadn't learned how to manage his money yet, will have received a "life-sentence". It's a shame and a miscarriage of justice.

 

All crimes are punishable by a maximum sentence, yet seeing the severity, level of involvement, and personal responsibility the offender has taken regarding the admission of their guilt (among other criteria), judges more times than not, reduce the sentencing to less than this, however, the branded "F" this person receives (if in Federal court) WILL NOT, and CAN NOT be removed…EVER. Well, this is the Land of Opportunity, and we, as Americans, believe in second chances and forgiveness. I would propose some criminal justice reform, whereas first-time, non-violent felony convictions (excluding Sedition and Treason) would impose whatever sentencing that the judge deems appropriate, however the Felon label will be imposed only for the duration of the Maximum Sentence outlined in the federal sentencing guidelines. For example, if you are a first-time convict of a non-violent offense, which carries a Maximum Sentence of 10 years, but the judge imposes a sentence of no time served, 3 years probation, and a fine (based off of your cooperation, remorse, etc…), you will remain a Felon for 10 years, provided you have no other felony convictions during that time. This would apply at both the State and Federal level.

 

By giving non-repeat, non-violent Felons some hope for their futures…something to look forward to, some incentive to "keep their nose clean" and the opportunity to better themselves…I believe this will drastically reduce the amount of recidivism in this country. Everyone needs a wakeup call at least once in their life. Let us help wake them up.

At a hearing in federal court in Brooklyn, prosecutors confirmed that Avenatti appeared on behalf of liquor fortune heiress Clare Bronfman at a closed-door meeting last week that also included Mark Geragos, another high-profile lawyer representing Bronfman.

 

When U.S. District Judge Nicholas Garaufis asked Geragos whether he and Avenatti had told prosecutors Avenatti was being brought into the case, he responded, "That's exactly what happened."

 

The revelation came only two days after Avenatti, the lawyer best known for representing porn actress Stormy Daniels, was arrested on charges accusing him of trying to extort millions of dollars from Nike. He wasn't in court Wednesday and didn't immediately respond to messages seeking comment.

 

Geragos has been linked to the Nike case by reports naming him as the unidentified co-conspirator mentioned in court papers. Asked outside court Wednesday if he was cooperating in the case, he said no, but declined comment on whether he was the alleged co-conspirator.

 

Bronfman, a daughter of the late billionaire philanthropist and former Seagram chairman Edgar Bronfman Sr., has pleaded not guilty to charges accusing her of bank-rolling a cult-like organization that brainwashed and branded women who served as sex slaves for its spiritual leader.

 

Under stern questioning by the judge Wednesday about which lawyers are actually representing her and whether she knew if Geragos was involved in the Nike case, Bronfman turned pale, staggered away from the bench and collapsed into a chair. The judge adjourned the hearing but told lawyers Bronfman would need to come back to court Thursday to give some answers.

Lawyers for Lauren Salzman — kin of Nxivm’s co-founder Nancy Salzman — asked Brooklyn federal Judge Nicholas Garaufis on Wednesday to consider allowing Salzman her own trial, saying that Raniere and Mack had tarnished her reputation because of her alleged involvement with their secret group, known as DOS, which stands for “Dominant Over Submissive.”

Salzman may have been a member of DOS, but it was “only for a very brief period of time,” the filing says.

Prosecutors have described DOS as an invite-only master-slave group for women inside Nxivm, in which members agree to fully submit to their superiors.

Some of the women, who were branded with Raniere and Mack’s initials, were also allegedly forced to have sex with Raniere.

Salzman is named in the indictment as a “firstline DOS master,” but is only facing charges of forced labor conspiracy, wire fraud conspiracy, and racketeering for her role in the group. Raniere and Mack have been charged with sex trafficking and other counts.

Garaufis has yet to respond to the filing.

The trial is scheduled to begin March 18.

FBI Ordered To Let Judge Review Comey 'Obstruction' Memos Ahead Of Possible Public Release

 

The FBI was ordered by a D.C. judge to hand over copies of former director James Comey's memos about his interactions with President Trump prior to his firing, in order to determine whether they can be released to the public.

 

U.S. District Judge James Boasberg in Washington on Thursday ordered the Federal Bureau of Investigation to submit both clean and redacted versions of the documents by April 1 as part of a Freedom of Information Act case brought by CNN and other organizations, including USA Today and the conservative activist group Judicial Watch Inc. -Bloomberg

 

Meanwhile, CNN argued in a January filing that the public should be permitted to see the memos because Comey and Trump have accused each other "of grave breaches of the public trust," and that the documents will show "contemporaneous records of disputed conversations."

 

The FBI told the court on March 1 that the files are still redacted and classified, and should remain so in order to avoid interfering with special counsel Robert Mueller's now-completed investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

 

Last January, the FBI's chief FOIA officer, David Hardy, gave a sworn declaration to Judicial Watch in which he said that all seven of Comey's memos were classified at the time they were written, and they remain classified.

So it's clear that Mr. Comey not only authored those documents, but then knowingly and willfully leaked them to persons unauthorized, which is in and of itself a national security crime. Mr. Comey should have been read his rights back on June 8th when he testified before the Senate.

 

Given that James Comey ostensibly leaked unredacted information to Richman, the DOJ's redactions would appear to confirm that Comey did in fact commit the federal crime of leaking classified information.

The fact is, much of that reform really wrankled LE and people in the know.

At the same time, POTUS is interested in attacking all angles for certain, and from bigger picture standpoint it makes sense.

I just wish they could do something to alleviate the sense of 'cucking' on part of POTUS by people who work with him on these matters. It give ammunition to shills and scum who want to chip away at the most vigorous and dedicated potion of Patriots whose work, by nature, foregoes negotiations and compromises.

Trump Overrides Admin Decision To Slash Special Olympics Funding

 

Having seen Education Secretary Betsy DeVos slammed today as she tried to defend the department’s proposed budget cuts - including the elimination of funding for the Special Olympics - in a hearing before House lawmakers this afternoon, President Trump has - for the second time in a week - overridden his administration, telling a pool of reporters that the Special Olympics will be funded.

 

"The Special Olympics is not a federal program. It's a private organization. I love its work, and I have personally supported its mission. Because of its important work, it is able to raise more than $100 million every year," DeVos said in a statement.

 

"There are dozens of worthy nonprofits that support students and adults with disabilities that don't get a dime of federal grant money. But given our current budget realities, the federal government cannot fund every worthy program, particularly ones that enjoy robust support from private donations," she added.

 

According to Education Week, the proposal released earlier this month would gut at least 29 programs in an attempt to save some $7 billion, including the elimination of $17.6 million in funding for the Special Olympics, roughly 10 percent of the group's overall revenue.

 

“We had to make some difficult decisions with this budget,” DeVos told a House subcommittee.

 

“Madam Secretary, I have to say, and maybe it’s offensive: Shame on you,” Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.) said per CNN.

 

But now, having faced widespread backlash from the decision, President Trump told reporters at the White House Thursday,

 

"I've overridden my people for funding the Special Olympics."

 

DeVos said she "wasn't personally involved" in pushing for elimination of the funding, but she defended it as her agency seeks to cut $7 billion from the 2020 budget.

 

This 'override' follows Trump's decision to go against his administration's plans to place further sanctions on North Korea.
