In the suburbs south of Beijing, what could one day be the world’s busiest airport is rapidly taking shape. Nicknamed β€œthe starfish” due to the striking design by Zaha Hadid Architects, the Beijing Daxing international airport is set to open in October, and could eventually handle more than 100 million passengers a year.

 

While the 52,000-tonne steel exoskeleton covering the airport’s six concourses immediately catches the eye, what lies beneath is familiar to many Chinese mega-projects: concrete – 1.6m cubic metres of it.

 

Construction of the new airport hub started in 2014, and is one of the largest infrastructure projects initiated by the country’s president, Xi Jinping, in an effort to jumpstart China’s slowing economy and place Beijing firmly on the international stage.

He has to follow the law. If the court stops his order to send illegals back across the border, then he has to release the ones in custody after 20 days somewhere. So, he says why not in sanctuary cities where they are supposed to be safe and wanted. The sanctuary cities will have to feed and house them. That costs the city a lot of money they really don’t want to pay. Illegal immigration into our country isn’t fair to any US citizen. We shouldn’t be forced to support them at all. When Shakespeare wrote, "The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers," he had obviously never met Tegan Shohet.

 

The 29-year-old, making her professional directing debut this week with the production of Someone Who'll Watch Over Me at the Berkeley Street Theatre Upstairs, has spent the last decade juggling her twin interests: law and theatre.

 

"Even though my career path has always been on the legal side," she admitted in a recent interview, "I always knew I'd wind up doing theatre as well one day."

 

She certainly enters the artistic fray with one of the most impressive sets of academic credentials on record: a BA from Harvard in Economics, a Master's in International Relations from Oxford (where she was a Rhodes scholar) and a law degree from Yale.

 

She has worked with the International Criminal Court at the Hague and had a stint in Zambia as a member of the Lowenstein International Human Rights clinic.

 

Her interest in theatre began when she was sent as a teenager to a public speaking instructor to cure her shyness, "and by the end of the year," Shohet recalls, laughing, "she had me acting in plays."

 

On the theatrical side, she's trained with the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art as well as Soulpepper Theatre and has worked in venues as varied as the Edinburgh Fringe and the Yale School of Drama.

 

But both threads of her life seem to have been meant to come together working on this play.

 

Frank McGuinness's drama was first staged in London and New York in 1992, with a run here at Tarragon Theatre following in 1994. A 2005 British revival acquainted audiences again with just how sadly topical the script had remained.

 

It tells the story of three men (an Englishman, an Irishman and an American) who are being held hostage in Lebanon by an unnamed Arab organization.

 

It originally evoked the Middle Eastern captivity of journalist John McCarthy, as well as Terry Waite, the clergyman imprisoned for trying to negotiate the release of his colleague.

 

Back in 1992, the Evening Standard praised the way the play "distills the high anxiety" of the hostage crisis, but 16 years later there are new names to remind us of the play's relevance.

 

"Just when rehearsals started, we all had to come to grips with the Melissa Fung affair," recalls Shohet, referencing the capture of the CBC journalist in Afghanistan this fall.

 

"And then just last week," she adds softly, "there was Mumbai."

 

The terrorist attacks that claimed the lives of hundreds in India last week "made us realize that theatre can be very relevant to the larger community of the world in which we live."

 

Adding fuel to the fire is that two of Shohet's actors, R.H. Thomson and David Ferry, are known for their intense political interests.

 

"I didn't know that when I first approached them about being in the play," admits Shohet, "but the script's political content was one of the things that attracted them most about the project. …

 

"Ultimately all of us want to do a great show, one that means something today."

 

When Shohet describes what she feels is the secret of the play's message, it does sound eerily relevant to the current world situation.

 

"What I love about it is how it uses the personal to talk about the political. Three men rely on their friendship to get through an incredibly difficult situation. They are pawns. Powerless. They don't know why they're being held. It's about being able to cope with political situations we don't entirely understand."

CBS Busted By Mom For Using Image Of Her Vaccine-Injured Child To Falsely Claim Measles Caused Injuries

It started in January as mainstream media and social media giants began begging for the government to silence those who advocate for vaccine safety and it came to a head on Tuesday as New York began force vaccinating citizens and charging those who resisted it with a crime. Highlighting the nonsensical reaction by the mainstream to the non-epidemic of measles in the United States, a CBS affiliate out of Texas ran a story with an image of childβ€”claiming that child had the measles. In reality, however, the child featured in their image was injured from the vaccines meant to prevent measles.

 

Dawn Neufeld caught the media company using the image of her son and was furious. β€œSo @cbsdfw decided to use my kid as the poster child for the measles outbreak. We did not grant permission of any kind for its use. But the irony… Will doesn’t have measles in this picture; this is the reaction he had to taking the β€˜safe’ MMR shot. We’re not happy about this… at all,” she wrote on Facebook Tuesday.

 

Neufeld is an outspoken advocate for safe vaccines. Despite attempts to smear her as an β€œantivaxxer,” Neufeld has merely advocated for safe vaccines and notes that she still vaccinates her children. Because of Neufeld’s large social media following, CBS was inundated with angry comments on how β€œdeceitful” and β€œnegligent” the decision to use her son’s photo wasβ€”especially considering the fact that she blames vaccines for her son’s autism. The image of her son was posted to the news website with the caption, claiming β€œa baby infected by measles sits on his mother’s lap.” But that baby did not have measles and was instead covered in red soars due to an adverse reaction to the very vaccine given to prevent measles. Only after receiving threats of a lawsuit and an onslaught of negative comments and demands for them to take it down did CBS finally remove the image and issue a retraction.

 

This incident illustrates the deceptive spin used by mainstream media to sell fear over the measles non-epidemic. An image of a child was used to incite fear over a measles outbreak and push the very vaccine which injured the child. This fear and hysteria is now manifesting into an actual usurpation of our right to informed consent and the lapdog media is reporting it without question. And as the use of this image shows, while they unquestioningly report on the fact that Americans are being force-vaccinated against their will, they’re doing so deceptively. Even if it was an honest mistake, the case is made to show the lack of credibility these institutions have when calling for the silencing of those who do nothing other than question the safety of vaccines. As Amazon purges books and films on vaccine information and as politicians literally beg for pro-safe vaccine folks to be silenced, examples like this prove that those who wish to control the flow of information and take away your right to ask questions, are not always rightβ€”a telling notion indeed.

At least 4 people shot, 1 killed, outside Melbourne nightclub

 

A man has died in hospital after a gunman opened fire on revelers from a passing car outside a night club in Melbourne, Australia. Three other people have been treated for injuries, one remains in critical condition.

 

Police reported on Sunday morning that they launched an investigation into a shooting in Prahran, an inner suburb of Melbourne, that resulted in multiple injuries among visitors of a local nightclub. The incident took place at about 3.20 am Sunday at a nightclub near Little Chapel Street and Malvern Road. Among the four people who were initially hospitalized, two were in a critical condition. Two other patients, a 50-year-old man and a 29-year-old man, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

 

In an update on Sunday, police said that a 37-year-old man from Narre Warren South succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

 

Police said they had found an abandoned Porsche, which is believed to have been used by the attackers. The vehicle was found burnt in Wollert, a Melbourne suburb some 30km from Prahran.

 

The shooter, who is believed to be on the run, apparently fired from a car as it was passing by the Love Machine nightclub, which was hosting a night for "old school groovers." The Age reported that the victims include a security guard, who was short in the face, and a patron of the club.

2 killed, a dozen injured in powerful Texas storms

 

Two children were killed and about a dozen people were injured in Texas Saturday after powerful storms spawned at least one suspected tornado and damaged several homes, authorities said.

I'm having quite the digging Saturday… Couple of questions I came across I was hoping some fellow anons have looked into.

 

1) After watching Eisenhower's speech on the Military Industrial Complex I have come to a couple questions I can't answer. Are we so naive to think that the cabal didn't have safe measures in place should a President get in that wasn't one of theirs? Actually, no. Assuming entry into undergrad at age 18, she gets a 4-year degree by age 22 (possibly 21 if she did summers each year) and goes to law school for 3 years. You can actually get a JD and a Masters at the same time depending on the subject/work load. I've known several who have done that.

 

So, out with a Masters and JD at 24 or 25, pass the bar the summer of graduation…that gives her possibly 4 or 5 years in practice.

Xi'an Jiaotong University, one of China's top 15 colleges, and a unit of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the country's top research agency, are also Applied Materials customers named on the unverified list, which was published on April 11, a supply chain source familiar with the move said. Some 37 Chinese companies and research institutions were named on the list, as well as seven organizations in Hong Kong, four in the United Arab Emirates, two in Malaysia and one in Indonesia.

Photos Surface Revealing 2017 'Closed-Door' Meeting Between Rep. Ilhan Omar and Turkish President Erdogan

 

Conservative Review reporter Jordan Schachtel recently came upon an interesting tidbit in the Tusmo Times, a publication that covers the Somali community in the Twin Cities, Minnesota, area. He found a story there by the Somali-language paper’s founder and editor, Abdirahman Mukhtar, about a β€œclosed-door meeting” that took place in New York City in September 2017 between visiting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and a then-relatively unknown Minnesota state representative named Ilhan Omar.

 

Omar, a Muslim immigrant from Somalia who won election to the U.S. House of Representatives in November 2018, reportedly led a delegation of Somalis from Minnesota to meet with Erdogan in New York. Erdogan was in town for the annual UN General Assembly meeting and Omar flew in to meet him at a local hotel in downtown New York City.

 

She even tweeted about the meeting in Somali:

 

What is most interesting about this meeting, however, aside from the fact that the President of Turkey agreed to meet with a local Minnesota state legislator, is that it took place in the very same hotel room where Erdogan, either just before or just after his meeting with Omar, met with the assembled top leadership of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood.

 

This is obvious from the room’s carpeting and table and chairs arrangement: here is Erdogan posing with Ilhan Omar.

 

In this second photo with Erdogan are Nihad Awad, the executive director of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR); Osama Abu Irshaid, the national director of American Muslims for Palestine (AMP); Mazen Mokhtar, the national executive director of the Muslim American Society (MAS); and Oussama Jammal, the secretary general of the U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO), the umbrella political organization of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood. Whether Omar herself met with these leading Brotherhood figures in that room is not known, but it seems unlikely that she would not have.

White House was working with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to try to send undocumented immigrants to sanctuary cities.

"They have said they wanted all of these illegal aliens into their communities," Gidley said on Fox News' "Justice with Judge Jeanine."

 

"We're working with DHS, we're working with ICE, to try and make sure that happens because after all, it's what they want. They should not say 'This is retribution politically,' they should say, 'This is an olive branch,'" he continued.

 

The Hill has reached out to DHS and ICE for comment.
