Afghan communications ministry attacked, seven killed

KABUL (Reuters) - At least seven people were killed in an attack on the Afghan communications ministry in central Kabul on Saturday, breaking months of relative calm in the capital and underlining the continued security threats despite efforts to open peace talks with the Taliban.

The attack began shortly before midday when a suicide bomb was detonated at the entrance to the multi-storey building housing the ministry in a busy commercial area of the city, followed up by gunfire which could be heard over a mile away.

Among the dead were four civilians and three police officers, while another eight civilians were wounded, a government official said.

“We saw a gunman trying to break open an office door and as we were running out, he was trying to shoot us and he started shouting ‘I will kill everyone here’,” said Syeda Rashid, an office administrator in the ministry who escaped with several of her colleagues. She said at least six women had been wounded.

The Veracruz state Public Security Department says seven men, five women and a child were killed in the Friday night attack at an events hall in the oil city of Minatitlan near the Gulf of Mexico.

A department statement says the attackers asked for a man called El Beky, who apparently owns a bar in the city. Its not clear if he was among the dead. Officials say they dont yet know a motive for the shooting.

Federal and state police set up checkpoints in the region to help in the search for the attackers.

For many of the protesters, grief over the destruction of the 800-year-old landmark has made way for anger. With smoke still rising from Notre Dame, a group of French tycoons and businessmen pledged €1 billion to the cathedral’s reconstruction, money that the Yellow Vests say could be better spent elsewhere.

I once read that all major skyscrapers in big cities have controlled demolition already set up in case of emergencies. Such as if the building becomes unsafe how are you going to be able to rig it to blow if it's already too late. I read that there were tunnels under all the WTC's and that there was a small nuke to be used to demolish said buildings if it ever came down to it. This was part of the reason WTC 7 had to go because it was the entrance to the tunnels and was sort of the central hub where they would move these minecarts of sorts to whatever tower was needed. House Intelligence Committee ranking member Devin Nunes, R-Calif., revealed where in special counsel Robert Mueller's report he says "Clinton dirt" tainted the Russia investigation.

During an interview on Fox News, hours after the 448-page report was released, Nunes pointed to a "hidden" passage on page 11 that addresses the scope memo for the yearslong investigation.

"When you look at what happened today, remember we talked a lot about the scope memo. What were the directions given to the special counsel? Well, we now know hidden on page 11, very thinly, still veiled, but we now know they used the Steele dossier, the Clinton dirt, the Clinton-paid-for dirt as part of the memo for the special counsel that directed the special counsel what to do," Nunes told host Sean Hannity.

The classified scope memorandum was issued by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in August 2017, months after he appointed Mueller to lead the Russia investigation without citing a crime. A heavily redacted version of the August memo has already been released to the public. Allies of President Trump, including Nunes, have called for full disclosure of that memo, as well as of documents related to investigatory efforts looking into Trump's inner circle, including FISA warrants that targeted onetime campaign aide Carter Page.

Nunes said the report showed Mueller's investigation was prompted to investigate Page as well as former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort due to the unverified dossier compiled by British ex-spy Christopher Steele.

"On Carter Page and Paul Manafort, that information came from political opponents, the Clinton campaign fed right into the FBI, directed to the special counsel to go investigate what was in the infamous Steele dossier," Nunes said.

"That is the only thing of relevance that was in today's 450-page report," he emphasized.

Page 11 of Mueller's report provides an overview of how Mueller was appointed special counsel and how Rosenstein directed his activities. It mentions the Aug. 2 memo Rosenstein wrote that "further clarified" what Mueller was allowed to do as special counsel months after his appointment, targeting members of Trump's team, including Page, Manafort, George Papadopoulos, and Michael Flynn.

"The Acting Attorney General further clarified the scope of the Special Counsel's investigatory authority in two subsequent memoranda. A memorandum dated August 2, 2017, explained that the Appointment Order had been 'worded categorically in order to permit its public release without confirming specific investigations involving specific individuals,'" Mueller wrote. Last week, Nunes sent a notification letter to Barr saying his team "identified several potential violations of the law" as part of an investigation into origins of the Trump-Russia investigation and hopes to set up a meeting to discuss eight criminal referrals.

Nunes' criminal referrals, which include two related to charges of conspiracy to lie to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, came together as Mueller concluded his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election and possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Mueller’s report did not find evidence that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia in its election interference efforts, but it did not reach a conclusion on whether the Trump team obstructed justice.

Many of those 'controversial' books have been removed from libraries in recent years. Its all about faggotry, hatred of white people, and climate change now. This is what they're programming into the minds of young people in the schools now.

Trump vetoes congressional resolution on US role in Yemen

WASHINGTON - US President Donald Trump vetoed a congressional resolution seeking to end US involvement in the Saudi-led war in Yemen.

“This resolution is an unnecessary, dangerous attempt to weaken my constitutional authorities, endangering the lives of American citizens and brave service members, both today and in the future,” Trump wrote to the US Congress.

This was the US president’s second veto since he took office in January 2017.

Congress took issue with US involvement in a war that has cost thousands of civilian lives. The United States has supported the Saudi-led coalition with billions of dollars’ worth of arms to fight Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen. The bill passed both the Republican-led Senate and the Democrat-led House.

Supporters of the resolution said Trump needed explicit permission from Congress to engage in the war but Trump argued the resolution was unnecessary because the United States is not directly involved in hostilities with Yemen, aside from counterterrorism efforts against al-Qaeda.

Efforts to support Saudi Arabia through intelligence sharing or logistics support fall under “the president’s constitutional power as commander-in-chief” and have not included US military personnel, Trump wrote.

Response from the Democrats was swift:

“The conflict in Yemen is a horrific humanitarian crisis that challenges the conscience of the entire world,” wrote House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a Democrat from California. “Yet the president has cynically chosen to contravene a bipartisan, bicameral vote of the Congress and perpetuate America’s shameful involvement in this heartbreaking crisis.”

However, she did not call for a veto override. Based on previous votes — 247-175 in the House of Representatives and 54-46 in the Senate — there aren’t enough votes for an override. It would take a two-thirds majority in both houses to do that.

“This conflict must end now,” Pelosi wrote. “The House of Representatives calls on the president to put peace before politics and work with us to advance an enduring solution to end this crisis and save lives.”

The United States has supported Saudi Arabia to keep 80,000 Americans in the region safe, Trump wrote.

“The conflict in Yemen represents a ‘cheap’ and inexpensive way for Iran to cause trouble for the United States and for our ally, Saudi Arabia,” Trump wrote.

He called the resolution “dangerous,” saying it “could endanger our service members by impairing their ability to efficiently and effectively conduct military engagements and to withdraw in an orderly manner at the appropriate time.”

He blamed the Senate for not filling “key diplomatic positions” to help negotiate a UN-led peace process.

Mike Hagan himself mentioned that the part of the new May 21, 2007 interview that is germane to this matter, runs from the 22:00 to 54:00 minute marks, which is the part of the discussion that pertains to his 9/11 bombshell revelations.

In this new interview, Paul Laffoley mentions that it is his belief that the explosive charges were built into the buildings at the time of their construction. The SMOKING GUN here is WTC 7 – which was obviously a controlled-demolition, and the Bin Laden family was definitely in on the construction of the WTC.

An heiress to a multibillion-dollar liquor company fortune has pleaded guilty over her role in a sex trafficking case involving a cult-like group in New York.
