‘Pedophile Hunter’ Catches Child Predator, Cops Show Up, Arrest Him, Let Predator Go

UNION, NJ – Another pedophile hunter has been arrested for obstruction of justice and disorderly conduct. A sexual predator hunter who goes by the name of “Ramy” impersonates underaged boys and girls in hopes predators will expose themselves and attempt to meet the underage child for sex, which is a crime. He has plenty of videos showing this success.

Ramy, 25, engaged in chat with a man who said he and his girlfriend wanted to have a three-way with the underage teen. The founder of Predator Poachers of New Jersey, Ramy, then met the man in the parking lot of a local pharmacy.

Very politely, one might say, Ramy approached the man who’d driven to the pharmacy. He told the man he wasn’t there to hurt him and only wanted to ask him a few questions. The unnamed John who was there to have sex with a 13-year-old girl appeared to believe Ramy was the police. He put his hands on the steering wheel in the 10 and 2 position and put the keys to his vehicle on top of his car.

Ramy made sure to tell the alleged child predator that he was not a cop. The man complied anyway.

The would be perpetrator exited the vehicle when asked to do so and followed Ramy over to the sidewalk of the pharmacy to have a little chat. Ramy assured the man if he told the “truth” the police would not be called.

Slowly and reluctantly the man then began to describe and admit he was there to engage in sex with the 13-year-old. The police then showed up and began to treat the situation as a crime scene, asking Ramy to move to his patrol car. The officer then began to speak with the would-be child rapist.

Soon after, a few more backup officers arrived and instead of allowing the predator hunters to do their work as good citizens, promptly took their phones away, which was recording the police contact live, and arrested Ramy, the founder and leader of the organization. Ramy was charged with Obstruction of Justice and Disorderly Conduct, even though he assured the officers he was working as an informant for a local detective.

In a recent interview with the Bunker Fly Podcast, Ramy told the show he got started in Mixed Martial Arts at an early age, 16. He said one of his teachers was very respected and knew MMA very well. He also said he had no idea the teacher was sexually abusing kids in his Taekwondo class.

From that point forward, he knew he had to do something. He said his martial arts training keeps him physically safe but he’s on a “mission”. He insists he helps attempt to rehab the perverted predators by taking them to sexaholics group meetings and therapy sessions as needed.

Ramy says he uses a multitude of social networking apps to “create a profile…using an underage minors either boy or girl…and then I always wait for them (the predators) to initiate the conversation.”

UK: 400 illegal boat migrants reached British shores in April

The UK Border Force last week brought dozens of Middle Eastern boat migrants to Britain after agents intercepted five boats in the English Channel.

On Friday, after intercepting 76 illegal migrants attempting to cross the Channel, the UK’s border authority transported the migrants – 55 men and 21 women claiming to nationals from Iraq, Iran, Yemen, and Kuwait – to Dover, England, The Daily Mail reports.

In the month of April, some 400 illegal boat migrants managed to reach the UK, the highest monthly total ever recorded. So far, at least 831 boat migrants have landed in the UK in 2020, a number that’s quickly approaching the 1,850 boat migrants which reached British shores in 2019.

The worsening of conditions at migrant camps in Calais and Dunkirk which have resulted amid the Chinese COVID-19 virus outbreak are believed to be compelling migrants to make the journey across the Channel.

As of this report, several cases have been recorded at migrant camps at Calais and Dunkirk. Despite this fact, UK authorities did not conduct any COVID-19 tests on the newly arrived migrants.

Some British lawmakers like Dover MP Natalie Elphicke have expressed deep concern that the UK Border Force, in bringing illegal migrants from Calais and Dunkirk back to Britain, could be importing more of the virus onto the island.

Elphicke says that the migrants should either sent back to France or placed in a fourteen day quarantine upon arriving in the UK.

“France’s lockdown means people need permission just to walk the dog. So how come hundreds of migrants can still pile into small boats and illegally motor into Britain?”

“We know that the coronavirus has infected the French camps,” Elphicke continued.

“The French have been paid tens of millions of pounds to stop these dangerous journeys being made – it’s vital the Home Office make the French honour their obligations in order to stop the further spread of the virus into Britain.”

Since Britain and France imposed nationwide lockdowns in mid-March, some 550 illegal boat migrants who were previously staying in France have successfully made their way across the Channel to Britain, as Voice of Europe has reported.

In just over a week, Italy plans to reopen some of the previously closed export-oriented businesses, but Italians should not expect any major changes in terms of freedom of movement, the prime minister said.

Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte gave an overview of how his country, the first in Europe to take a serious blow from the Covid-19 pandemic, plans to return to some level of normalcy. Starting May 4, his government will allow some of the businesses closed six weeks ago to curb the spread of the disease to reopen, he said.

Export-oriented manufacturing that risks being cut out of supply chains, construction businesses, and wholesalers are likely to be given the green light on week one, with others gradually following. Conte also described plans to support the economy through state-guaranteed loans, cutting through undue red tape, and other measures.

However, Italian citizens should not expect life to return to where it was before the outbreak, the prime minister told La Repubblica. While some social distancing restrictions may be revised as the country emerges out of the lockdown, it would be “a revision” and not “abandonment of the rules.”

“We are not yet in a position to restore full freedom of movement,” he said, adding that whatever relief is given, “it will not be full freedom for all.”

Schools will not be reopened in Italy until September, Conte said, adding that remote teaching has worked out well. He also said there will be government action to prevent shortages of masks and price gouging.

The Italian government is still discussing when to allow churches and cemeteries to hold religious services like masses and funerals. The fact that people cannot properly send off their deceased loved ones and get closure is “personally particularly painful,” Conte said.

Italy is among the nations most affected by Covid-19, with a death toll of over 26,000, which is surpassed only by that of the United States. Its healthcare system was overwhelmed by the outbreak, while other EU members dragged their feet on assisting Rome. The roadmap for lifting the lockdown will be revealed to the public early next week, the prime minister said in the interview.

Illinois reports significant increase in calls to poison control in the last two days

There has been a significant increase in calls to poison control in the state of Illinois in the last two days, Illinois Public Health Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike said during a Saturday afternoon press conference.

Such calls included someone using a detergent based solution for a sinus rinse and another person gargling with a bleach and mouthwash mixture to kill germs, Ezike said.

She urged people to not use cleaning chemicals to try and kill the virus.

April 26 (UPI) — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Sunday said that Congress will provide coronavirus funding for state and local governments in a forthcoming stimulus bill.

Pelosi, appearing on CNN’s State of the Union, responded to criticism from state and local leaders including New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo who called on such funding to be included in previous legislation, including the fourth COVID-19 relief bill signed on Friday.

“Just calm down,” she said. “We will have state and local and we will have it in a very significant way.”

She also encouraged state and local to continue being vocal about their need for federal aid.

“The governors are impatient. I’m a big fan of Gov. Cuomo, my own governor, Gavin Newsom, has been so spectacular, my mayor … State and local have done their jobs magnificently. They should be impatient, their impatience will help us get an even bigger number,” said Pelosi.

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell on Wednesday opposed providing funding for state and local government, instead suggesting that they apply for bankruptcy.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin told Fox News Sunday he was prepared to provide funding to local governments if Congress can reach an agreement.

“If we need to spend more money we will and we’ll only do it with bipartisan support,” he said.

Mnuchin also commented on how long he expects the new tranch of $310 billion added to the paycheck protection in the package signed Friday will last.

“I actually hope we run out of money quickly so we get the money into the workers’ pockets,” he said.

The first round of funding was exhausted quickly and several large companies including Ruth’s Chris Steak House and Shake Shack were awarded the loans meant for small businesses before returining the loans.

Mnuchin said that the administration would work to ensure that this round of funding would be “distributed fairly.”

“I think you’re going to see this move in the right direction and I think you’re also going to see the average loan size go down significantly,” he said.

Fed Cut Back on Helicopter Money for Wall Street & the Wealthy

Total assets on the Fed’s balance sheet rose by $205 billion during the week ending April 22, to $6.57 trillion. Since the week ending March 11, when the bailout of the Everything Bubble and its holders began, the Fed has printed $2.26 trillion.

But the $205 billion increase was the smallest increase since the mega-bailout began with its Sunday March 15 announcement. The Fed is tapering its purchases of Treasury securities and mortgage-backed securities (MBS). Repurchase agreements (repos) are falling into disuse. Lending to Special Purposes Vehicles (SPVs) has leveled off. And foreign central bank liquidity swaps, after having spiked initially, only ticked up by a small-ish amount.

The sharply reduced increases confirm that the Fed is following its various announcements over the past two years that during the next crisis – namely now – it would front-load the bailout QE and after the initial blast would then taper it out of existence, rather than let it drag out for years.

This concept was further confirmed by Fed Chair Jerome Powell in on April 10 when he said that the Fed would pack away its emergency tools when “private markets and institutions are once again able to perform their vital functions of channeling credit and supporting economic growth.”

Overall, the Fed has cut the big QE purchases by 65% since the peak week (week ending April 1, $586 billion), to $205 billion:

Recently, a kidney dialysis nurse who sat with patients for the three hour treatment, asked patients if he could play his harp for them during treatment for entertainment. The hospital noticed that his harp changed and calmed the vitals of the patients. The hospital asked the nurse to start a music therapy program. The “Science” of Caging a Compliant Majority

In late February, a seven-year legal battle finally reached its conclusion, but nobody noticed. It should have been a big story, but it was eclipsed by the Chinese viral apocalypse. Which is ironic, because even though, at first glance, the legal battle in question has absolutely nothing to do with COVID, thematically, it’s surprisingly relevant.

To put it mildly, Justina Pelletier has had a rough life. A premature baby, she was born with cartilage wrapped around her colon, leading to years of stomach cramps, intestinal blockages, and an absence of bowel control. Many surgeries followed, including a cecostomy. By the time she was a teenager, Justina was being treated at Tufts Medical Center for mitochondrial disease (cellular malfunction). At age 14, her compromised body was hit with a life-threatening flu, which weakened her to the point where she couldn’t walk. Her physicians at Tufts recommended that she be taken by ambulance to Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH).

And that’s where things went south. The BCH doctors decided that Justina wasn’t sick at all! According to them, her “maladies” were psychosomatic. So, the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF) was called in. Justina was declared a ward of the state, and confined to a room in the hospital’s psychiatric unit.

Why did the BCH doctors believe that Justina had to be separated from her parents? Were there suspicions the girl was being beaten? Sexually abused?

Nope. Justina’s mom and dad were “very nice, intelligent, well-intending parents.” Those are the exact words of a neurologist who helped make the case for her imprisonment. Justina needed to be isolated from her folks because her claims of being sick (and the confirmation from Tufts that she was sick) “were validated by her parents.” She needed to be thrown in a cage because her parents believed her. Dr. Jurriaan Peters, who treated Justina at BCH, claimed that the parents had created a “pathological feedback loop” wherein “anytime a person says they’re sick, it’s endorsed or validated.”

“We wanted the parents not to encourage the ‘sick role,’ but rather, encourage her about positive things and to be independent and a teenager,” Peters said.

BCH doctor Colleen Ryan agreed; Justina’s parents would “obsess over her medical problems,” whereas Ryan thought they should put “less focus on negative aspects of her health and more on her positive experiences.”

EU Kowtows to China, Revises Coronavirus Disinfo Report After CCP Pressure

The European Union rewrote and softened a report that detailed the coronavirus disinformation campaign carried out by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) after receiving pressure from apparatchiks in Beijing.

The initial version of the report from the European External Action Service (EEAS) pointed to Chinese propaganda, such as blaming the United States for spreading the Wuhan virus, accusing France of responding too slowly to the pandemic, and claims that French officials had used racial slurs about the director of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom — claims denied by France.

“China has continued to run a global disinformation campaign to deflect blame for the outbreak of the pandemic and improve its international image,” the initial report stated, according to the New York Times.

Before the report was released, however, officials from the communist-run country began pressuring the European Union — and the bloc ultimately bowed to the pressure, removing any reference to the “global disinformation campaign” carried out by China as well as the diplomatic spat between the CCP and France.

“The Chinese are already threatening with reactions if the report comes out,” wrote EU diplomat Lutz Güllner in a leaked email.

In another email, Esther Osorio, a senior adviser to the EU’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, wrote that the report should focus less on the disinformation campaigns carried out by China “as we already see heavy pushback from CN [China]”.

A spokesman for the EU, Peter Stano, denied that the report was modified as a result of pressure from the Chinese regime, but analysts that worked on the report say otherwise.

One analyst wrote that European Union diplomats were “self-censoring to appease the Chinese Communist Party” and that “appeasement will set a terrible precedent and encourage similar coercion in the future.”

Jakub Janda, the executive director of the European Values Centre for Security Policy, said that the Chinese pressure campaign was being used as “a test” for the CCP to see what level of influence it has over the bloc.

The European Union is currently trying to secure better trade arrangements for European companies in China. Trade between China and the EU was estimated to total $1.6 billion per day, making the bloc China’s top trading partner. The EU has also been heavily reliant on Chinese medical supplies during the coronavirus pandemic — although much of it has been revealed to be faulty.

In response to the report, China’s top diplomat to the EU told the Financial Times: “We do better to forget the politics now,” adding: “We are in a battle, a battle between the sapiens and the virus.”

There is NO Empirical Evidence for These Lockdowns

Several weeks ago, one of the USA’s better quantitative scientists, John Ioannidis of Stanford, made a critically important point. During the coronavirus pandemic, ‘we are making decisions without reliable data’, he said.

As Ioannidis and others have pointed out, we do not even know the actual death rate for COVID-19. Terrifying and widely cited case-fatality rates like ‘three percent’ come from comparing known fatalities to the small pool of people who have officially been tested. Those test cases are mostly made up of sick and symptomatic people or those who had direct contact with someone known to have had Covid-19 – rather than to the far larger pool of people who may have had a mild version of the disease. Because of the same denominator problem, we also don’t know the true infection rate. A recent German study indicates this could be as high as 15 percent.

Finally, we do not seem to know the effectiveness of the various strategies adopted by national and regional governments to respond to the disease – ranging from the advocacy of social distancing to full-on lockdowns.

This piece tackles that question. As a professional political scientist, I have analyzed data from the Worldometers Coronavirus project, along with information about the population, population density, median income, median age and diversity of each US state, to determine whether states that have adopted lockdowns or ‘shelter in place’ orders experience fewer COVID-19 cases and deaths than those which pursue a social-distancing strategy without a formal lockdown. I then briefly extend this analysis to compare countries. In short, I do not find that lockdowns are a more effective way of handling coronavirus than well-done social-distancing measures.

The most basic way to test this thesis is by direct comparison. As of 6 April, seven US states had not adopted shelter-in-place orders, instead imposing social-distancing restrictions such as banning large gatherings and mandating six-foot spacing gaps and maximum customer limits inside all retail stores. Those seven states are Arkansas, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming. These states reported 1,620, 2,141, 952, 343, 1,311, 2,542 and 288 cases of COVID-19 respectively as of 3:40pm EST on 16 April – for an average of 1,321 cases. The states reported 37, 60, 21, 9, 7, 20, and 2 deaths respectively, for an average of 22.3 deaths. Throwing in South Carolina, which did not adopt a shelter-in-place order until 6 April, and still allows most religious services, does not dramatically alter these figures – these states averaged 1,613 cases and 33 deaths.

Amazon has lost its appeal against a court ruling that prompted it to suspend deliveries in France last week.

A court in Paris on Friday upheld a ruling that Amazon must stop selling nonessential goods as it carries out a risk assessment on how best to protect employees from coronavirusin its distribution centers.

In a statement, Amazon said it was assessing the court’s decision but had no comment on whether it would reopen its warehouses.

The company shut down its French distribution centers in the wake of the original ruling, citing the stiff penalties threatened by the court and the “complexity inherent in our logistic activities.” Amazon’s top executive in France said that it wasn’t clear which products were considered essential.

Amazon said at the time that it was suspending activities “despite the huge investment that we have made to ensure and strengthen by additional measures the safety of our employees who remained mobilized during this crisis.”

The initial ruling followed a complaint by a French labor union, which accused the online delivery giant of endangering the lives of workers by not instituting enough safety precautions to protect against the virus.

Under the terms of the order, Amazon would be limited to selling goods classified as electronics, office equipment, animal care products, home improvement items, health and body care products, and groceries.

Each shipment of anunauthorized product could incur a penalty of up to €100,000 ($108,000), the court ruled.

Amazon has faced criticism in the United States over the health and safety of workers as it faces increasing demands on its services during the pandemic. Last week, the company said it may begin firing employees who “intentionally violate” its social distancing guidelines, despite complaints from workers who say the demands of their job make it impossible to comply with the policy.

Saudi Arabia to take on billions in debt to survive the oil price crisis

Saudi Arabia may have to borrow as much as $58 billion this year to cover a budget shortfall caused by the oil price slump, Bloomberg reports, citing Finance Minister Mohammed al-Jadaan.

Al-Jadaan told media this week that the Kingdom might issue bonds worth $26.57 billion (100 billion riyals) this year in addition to an earlier issue of $31.88 billion (120 billion riyals) worth of debt.

Saudi Aramco, for its part, is considering a $10 billion sale in part of its pipeline business, Bloomberg reported on Thursday.

“The kingdom went through similar crises in its history – maybe even worse – and was able to pass through them,” Al-Jadaan said. “This is not an exception.”

Most observers note that this price crisis is like no other in history. The unique combination of excess supply and a 30 percent drop in demand weighs heavily on oil-dependent economies throughout the world, and even low-cost Saudi Arabia is not exempt.

The oil market is indeed flooded. The Wall Street Journal reported earlier this week, citing Saudi oil officials, that at least one in every ten VLCCs, each capable of carrying 2 million barrels of oil, is used for floating storage with many holding Saudi crude. Some of that, the sources said, had yet to find buyers.

Saudi Arabia is bracing for the inevitable blow. In March, the government asked state agencies to cut their budgets by at least 20 percent, Reuters reported, citing sources in the know who declined to be named. That was before OPEC+ agreed to implement cuts of 9.7 million bpd in hopes this would help prices. It didn’t.

Now, according to an analyst with an Egypt-based investment bank, the Saudi deficit could widen to 15 percent of GDP, Bloomberg notes. That would be less than the 17 percent recorded for 2016, but it would still be quite brutal for the Kingdom that had to roll back austerity measures it implemented during the 2014-2016 crisis pretty quickly as bureaucrats rebelled.

On 22 April, the foreign ministers of Russia, Iran, and Turkey held a trilateral video-conference on the situation in Syria within the framework of the Astana format. International observers have explained why the group has succeeded in maintaining the balance of interests in the region and what is behind the growing divisions within jihadi ranks.

The Astana group, a trilateral format comprising Russia, Turkey and Iran created in 2017 to tackle the Syrian crisis, acknowledged on Wednesday that the 5 March 2020 ceasefire deal had facilitated the de-escalation of the situation in Idlib, following Turco-Syrian clashes earlier this year, despite Hayat Tahrir al-Sham's* attempts to obstruct it.

Meanwhile, divisions are growing within jihadi groups in Syria. A week ago, over two dozen militants from Jaysh Maghawir al-Thawra (‘Revolutionary Commando Army’) who were previously deployed in the US-held At-Tanf area surrendered to the Syrian Arab Army. Later, on 20 April, unidentified groups reportedly attacked and destroyed a US military vehicle in Al-Hasakah governorate. At the same time, in Idlib, jihadi militants are deeply split over joint Turkish-Russian patrols on the M4 highway which started on 15 March.

Syrian Militants are Growing Disenchanted With US

"Incidences of discontent and partisan warfare against the illegal US military occupation of east Syria are inevitable and increasing likely in frequency and escalating intensity", says Mark Sleboda, a US military veteran and international affairs and security analyst. "One of the primary reasons for these uprisings is local Arab tribal unhappiness with being governed over by the US' preferred proxies of the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) within the US-organised Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) brand. Another is the unwillingness of the US to provide sufficient financial and other aid to begin reconstruction of the war-ravaged territory east of the Euphrates or restart economic activity".

Nevertheless, the US has been heavily reinforcing its troops in east Syria in recent months, particularly around Syria's oil fields, the US veteran notes, adding that Washington is "unlikely to easily give away its last card for leverage in forcing regime change in Damascus via political and economic blackmail".

At the same time, the US cannot rely on any of its beaten proxies, as the Syrian Army made its advances over the entire Syrian geography including the Idlib governorate, believes Christopher Assad, a Canada-based political analyst of Syrian origin, stressing that eventually all foreign troops will have to unconditionally withdraw from all Syrian territories, especially those whose presence is illegal.

McConnell, Democrats feud over state aid amid coronavirus

A fight over funding for state and local governments is emerging as an early flashpoint in talks over another coronavirus relief bill.

The clash — which pits Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) — is raising fresh questions about the ability to keep Congress’s response to the coronavirus bipartisan.

Congress has already appropriated nearly $2.8 trillion to combat the severe economic and health impact of the coronavirus, as 26 million people have filed for unemployment and nearly 51,000 people have died in the United States, according to Johns Hopkins University.

But Democrats are pledging to get more help for state and local governments in the phase four coronavirus relief bill that could pass Congress as soon as next month.

“There will not be a bill without state and local, OK?” Pelosi said when asked about the potential that it will be left out.

Pelosi has characterized it as the “centerpiece” of the next bill but declined to say how much Democrats will push for. She told reporters during a press conference that the number is probably “equivalent to what we've done for small businesses.” Congress has provided nearly $660 billion in loans to businesses through the Paycheck Protection Program.

That puts Democrats squarely at odds with McConnell, who set off alarm bells among governors and lawmakers from hard-hit states when he said this week that states should be allowed to declare bankruptcy as they seek more money from the federal government to deal with the economic fallout from the coronavirus.

“I would certainly be in favor of allowing states to use the bankruptcy route,” McConnell told radio host Hugh Hewitt.

“My guess is their first choice would be for the federal government to borrow money from future generations to send it down to them now so they don’t have to do that. That’s not something I’m going to be in favor of,” he added.

McConnell has positioned Republicans as wary of additional funds for state and local governments, saying the idea would have to be “thoroughly evaluated” within his conference.

The issue is just the latest point of tension between McConnell and Pelosi, who clashed earlier this month over whether another coronavirus relief bill was even needed.

Pelosi, on Friday, asked reporters, “Speaking of Mitch, what’s gotten into him?”

“The president is asking people to inject Lysol into their lungs, and Mitch is saying that states should go bankrupt. It's a clear, visible within 24 hours of how the Republicans reject science and reject governance,” she said.

I took the photos of the definitions of each of these solfeggio scales from my ancient Websters Dictionary from which they have been removed in modern versions. After the coronavirus caused China to shut down most of its businesses, and cities, the country is now striking back hard by releasing a digital currency and national blockchain.

China’s central bank The People’s Bank Of China, began testing its new digital Yuan’s interface on April 14th with one of its largest banks, the Agricultural Bank of China, rolling out a test UI. Two weeks later, there are reports that a pilot has been launched. Nineteen restaurants and retail establishments including popular Western restaurant chains like Starbucks, McDonald’s and Subway are participating in the test, Bitcoin.com reported. The test run is taking place in at least four cities in China—Shenzhen, Suzhou, Chengdu and Xiong’an, according to China’s central bank which confirmed the test of its new digital Yuan officially called “Digital Currency Electronic Payment (DCEP)” to the Wall Street Journal.

That’s not all, China also launched its Blockchain Service Network (BSN) for domestic and global commercial use. China also announced a 71-person committee for its Blockchain which includes executives from China’s central bank, as well as tech giants Baidu and Tencent, according to an announcement from the country’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT.)

Last year, Max Keiser of the Keiser Report told Kitco News that China was backing the new digital Yuan with gold.

“[China] is rolling out a cryptocurrency, a lot of the details have not been divulged. I can tell you that the cryptocurrency that China’s rolling out will be backed by gold. It’s a two-pronged announcement. Number one, China’s got 20,000 tonnes of gold, number two, we’re rolling out a crypto coin backed by gold, and the dollar is toast,” Keiser told Kitco News.

This author also had his own source from the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) saying much of the same for years, in which I wrote up two articles explaining the shift from the West as the world reserve currency. Those articles were entitled: “A Shift Of Power: Russia and China Finalize Moves To Replace U.S. Dollar As World Reserve Currency” and “China Finalizes Moves On Oil Markets To Overthrow U.S. Petro-Dollar Dominance As World Reserve Currency.”

Both articles detail numerous financial moves that China has taken in the past 10 years. One of which was buying up gold from the U.S. as a WikiLeaks cable titled “China increases its gold reserves in order to kill two birds with one stone” details.

China again began stockpiling gold in 2013, when they bought JPMorgan’s building that previously housed its gold. The IMF and United Nations have even expressed agreement that it’s time to replace the U.S. dollar as the world reserve currency with what’s known as SDRs or special drawing rights . Then the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) was planned between 2010-2012, and was fully operational by 2016.

“China has been pushing for the SDR to become more widely used for some time, as a way to challenge the dominance of the dollar without pushing the renminbi as a direct competitor,” Julian Evans-Pritchard, a China economist at Capital Economics in Singapore, told Reuters.

Although currently it is not known if China’s digital Yuan is backed by gold, it wouldn’t be at all surprising. China opened up its own gold market in 2016, an entirely separate system than the COMEX gold futures market in New York and the Over-the-Counter (OTC) trades cleared through the London Bullion Market. China and Russia have both been working to undermine the West and the U.S. dollar since China called for a new world reserve currency as early as 2009.

Former first lady, secretary of state, and presidential contender Hillary Clinton dismissed women and girls who have expressed how uncomfortable they became when touched by former vice president and current presidential hopeful Joe Biden.

Libya: Haftar forces continue shelling Libyan civilians

Pro-renegade Gen. Khalifa Haftar militias continues to attack civilian settlements in southern Tripoli, the internationally recognized Government of National Accord (GNA) said Sunday, Anadolu reports.

Four Nigerian workers were injured in the attack against civilians in the capital, Tripoli, the GNA-led Burkan Al-Ghadab (Volcano of Rage) Operation said on social media.

As part of measures against the novel coronavirus, a cease-fire took effect March 21 but Haftar’s militias have continued attacks on the capital.

Libya has reported two deaths from the virus, 60 cases and 15 recoveries. The country recorded its first case March 24.

The GNA has been under attack by Haftar’s forces since last April, with more than 1,000 killed in the violence.

It launched Operation Peace Storm on March 26 to counter attacks against the capital.

The GNA announced April 13 its forces removed Haftar militias from at least eight provinces, clearing a 3,000-square-kilometer (1,158-square-mile) area from the warlord’s forces.

Since the ouster of longtime ruler Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, two seats of power have emerged in Libya: Haftar in eastern Libya — supported by Egypt and the UAE — and the GNA in Tripoli, which enjoys the UN and international recognition.

Airlines Bailout: Industry Gets Billions From US Government Amid Coronavirus Fallout

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to wreak havoc on the world economy, the airline industry has received a new influx of U.S. government aid.

The Treasury Department on Saturday confirmed it would release an extra $9.5 billion in funds from its Payroll Support Program for use by the country’s airlines. The industry has so far taken $12.4 billion in relief funds.

These funds were distributed to a total of 10 major airline companies and 83 smaller ones. As a condition for receiving these funds, the companies are required not to cut staff or pay until Sept. 30. They are also restricted in terms of executive payments and are not allowed to buy back stock or pay out dividends.

“There is still much about the future and recovery that remains uncertain, and there is a very real possibility that we could be a smaller airline by the end of the year,” SkyWest CEO Chip Childs said in an email to staff obtained by Reuters. SkyWest is expected to receive $438 million in aid.

A total of $25 billion in payroll relief funds were approved by Congress for passenger airlines, one of the business sectors hit the hardest by the outbreak of COVID-19. Any company taking in more than $100 million from these funds will be required to pay 30% of the amount borrowed over 10 years through low-interest loans.

Even with sizeable relief efforts underway, the airline industry is expected to have a slow road to financial recovery. Once the presence of coronavirus sufficiently subsides, industry leaders worry that customers will be slow to regain confidence in flying and slow to reach the level of financial stability necessary to indulge in recreational travel.

“We don’t know when it will happen, but we do know that Delta will be a smaller airline for some time, and we should be prepared for a choppy, sluggish recovery even after the virus is contained,” Delta Airlines CEO Ed Bastian said in a letter to employees recently. “I estimate the recovery period could take two to three years. I hope it’s sooner, but we need to be realistic in our planning.”

Pentagon says Trump's tweet was just a warning

When President Trump announces on Twitter that he has ordered a government body to do something, it’s often not clear for days if he ever told them about it. This is latest exemplified in Wednesday’s Tweet to “shoot down” Iranian boats in the Persian Gulf.

After Trump’s statement, the White House refusal to comment, and multiple statements from Defense officials, it’s not clear at all if the US is actually planning to attack Iranian boats, with officials at the Pentagon suggesting it was “an important warning” as opposed to a literal order to attack.

Pentagon officials were notable in their refusal to say how Trump’s comments would impact a hypothetical situation in the future. They seem to be interpreting this as a threat/warning for its own sake, and not ordered military policy.

This happens fairly often with President Trump’s Tweets, which are presented as the word of the president but often never go beyond the Twitterverse into actionable policy, and which other officials feign befuddlement about when asked on the matter.
