In 1993, Clinton appointed Lippo Sr.VP John Huang as Assistant Deputy Secretary of the US Commerce Department. With only a perfunctory background check, Huang was given Top Security clearance, actually approved five months before he took office. Congressional probes later revealed that while installed at Commerce, Assistant Deputy Secretary Huang spent most afternoons at Stephens’ corporate offices, and was in constant contact with the Lippo Group, as well as with Chinese government officials.

This actress had been with some men, including an actor who enjoys sleeping with men and women who bragged about the trove of kids they had access to for child porn. They named some names. Those names were not names known to the actress but she wanted to pass them along. So, she got in touch with the investigator who she had known for a long time and possibly could help with all of this. Within a month, the actress was dead. The actress was easy to kill. Her body was failing anyway. All she needed was a little push.

Our investigator decided to go to the location where the people named by the actress were located. The investigator kept backing up information and even though was out of the country, sent it to various family members for them to back up on the USB drives the investigator had been using. Shortly after the investigator began seriously digging around and asking questions, she was killed.

Fast forward a few months. This A list singer has been in touch with a woman who says that one of the last things the investigator wrote was related to the singer. This woman has no idea what half the stuff on the USB drive has to do with anything, but would the singer be interested. The woman is in the town where the investigator was living prior to her trip and death. Yes, the singer would be interested and is going to be in that town in a couple of weeks and they can get together. A few days before the singer arrives in town, he is killed.

"Blink and you could have missed it. After winning a Primary to become the Republican candidate for Oregon in May, Jo Rae Perkins thanked QAnons in a hastily-deleted video.

The would-be-Senator addressed her supporters, saying: ‘I stand with President Trump. I stand with Q and the team. Thank you Anons, and thank you patriots. And together, we can save our republic’.

This overt nod to QAnon, a theory which holds that President Trump is battling a corrupt deep-state comprised of members of the democrat party involved in Satan-worship, cannibalism and paedophilia, is indicative of the conspiracy’s growing influence in US politics.

QAnon derives its name from the figure of Q, an anonymous source claiming to be a high-up military official, who posts coded messages, known as Q drops, on image boards including 4Chan and 8Kun. Thousands of online followers try to decode Q’s sporadic messages which invariably reference Donald Trump’s silent war against a shady global elite.

As an outsider, it is easy to dismiss QAnon as nonsensical lunacy. Yet, the theory is gradually creeping out of shady internet forums and into the political mainstream.

Perkins is not the only high-profile Republican to announce their support for QAnon to the electorate. Marjorie Taylor Greene, an outspoken proponent of the Q theory, is poised to be elected to Congress after coming first in a Republican primary in Georgia earlier this month.

Meanwhile, Trump has selected Rep. John Ratcliffe, a republican congressman who has been criticised for following QAnon supporters on social media, for the prestigious role of Director of National Intelligence.

The promotion of QAnon believers to the higher echelons of the Republican Party signals the popularity of the theory at the grassroots level, and its political benefits to the Trump Administration. QAnons show cult-like reverence for Trump who is seen as a messianic figure, sent to protect the public from his impossibly powerful enemies. The Q-Universe has its own upside down logic: the worse the domestic situation becomes the more adamant Anons are that Trump is being sabotaged by the deep state.

The Trump administration’s mismanagement of the coronavirus pandemic is a case in point. While the US has seen over 130,000 deaths, the highest count worldwide, many Anons believe that the pandemic is a hoax, engineered by Trump to distract the world while he arrests Tom Hanks, Barak Obama and Hillary Clinton for trafficking ‘mole-children’ kept in subterranean prisons.

Trump is no stranger to encouraging the spread of misinformation to serve his political ends. During the 2016 election cycle he relied upon conspiracy theorists to win over public opinion, even appearing on the the program Infowars run by the prominent conspiracist, Alex Jones. The rise of QAnon is setting the stage for Trump to use the same tactics during the current election cycle.

While Trump may not have acknowledged Q explicitly, the vague, bellicose, language of his tweets offers covert support to conspiracists. On May 17 he tweeted: ‘the world is at war with a hidden enemy. WE WILL WIN!!!’ At first glance, the tweet appears to refer to the coronavirus crisis. Yet, QAnons interpreted the message as a call to arms, linking it to a similar message posted by Q in April.

The violent language used by Q supporters is unsettling, not least because the FBI identified QAnon as a domestic terror threat in an internal memo last years.

A foray into 8Kun (not for the faint-hearted) reveals that Q related image boards are full of martial language, encouraging patriots to participate in information warfare online. For the most part, users are encouraged to engage in discursive battles, such as ‘targeted meme operations’, which involve creating shareable content for social media platforms or coordinating responses to individuals on Twitter.

However, it’s also a breeding ground for extremist views and incitements to violence. Disturbingly, in posts linked to the QAnon image board neo-Nazis are calling for a crackdown against Black Lives Matter protesters by the police and the national guard, even encouraging one another to take matters into their own hands.

While the majority of Q-followers do not endorse violent action, the threat posed to domestic security by online extremism should not be ignored."

While the first lady's wardrobe choices are often met with criticism, social media users praised Melania Trump following one of her most recent appearances, claiming her dress was designed by victims of child sex abuse.

The first lady joined President Donald Trump in Keystone, South Dakota, on the eve of Independence Day at Mount Rushmore, where the president delivered remarks and condemned protesters for attacking monuments.

Shortly after the rally, a post about her white-and-black dress made its way to social media platforms.

It was mocked by the media, according to a July 5 Facebook post by user, Mike Parr.

"They said it looked like childish scribbles. Little did they know, they were the drawings of several young victims of sex trafficking who tried to explain their pain through pictures," Parr wrote. "They mocked her raising awareness for the victims of sex trafficking. This deserves 100,000 shares!"

Parr did not respond to a request for comment from USA TODAY.

"Social media made fun of Melania's dress she wore last night. They said it looked like President Trump scribbled on it with a marker," an Instagram post shared by @networkradio.us on June 5 reads. "It is a dress designed by Alexander McQueen using sketches drawn by victims of child sexual abuse to describe their feelings. Our First Lady is incredible."

The post also appeared on Facebook, where user Candy Cannon shared a photo of the in the dress and wrote, "First Lady Melania may be silent, yet her dress is screaming out loud and clear!!! #SaveTheChildren."

U.K. tabloid The Daily Mail published a series of screenshot tweets that suggested that the president drew on the white dress with a black Sharpie marker. The marker alludes to a famous incident where Trump allegedly suggested an alternate path for Hurricane Dorian, which ravaged the Bahamas in 2019, by drawing on a map with a marker, USA TODAY reported.

Speculations behind Melania's fashion moments are not new. In 2019, Twitter users claimed that the first lady's July 4 dress was an endorsement of gay pride. During a 2018 trip to Texas to visit a migrant children's children shelter, users criticized Trump for wearing a jacket that read "I REALLY DON'T CARE, DO U?""

I have been impressed with how fast "left-leaning" economists who went to work in industry and finance became pro-business, anti-labor, and politically right wing.
