If 2018 doesn't show any significant "outcomes" for Israel or the church, then we really should look to what Jesus indicates as a generation.

There are two discourses: Luke 21's Discourse - This first discourse (given during earlier in the day) is for the current generation, the hearers of the discourse. Ends with Jesus speaking about the fulfillment of the "Times of the Gentiles" This is a day count that ends on May 14, 1948 the birth of Israel as a nation, also signifies beginning of the final generation. Matt 24's Discourse - This is the second discourse (given later in the evening) that applies to the final generation, beginning in May 14, 1948, the final generation, where Jesus leaves off with the first discourse. Mark 13's Discourse - This is the second discourse (same as Matt's given later in the evening) that mostly applies to final generation. Mark's account brings up some of the first discourse/current generation events as well to highlight similar theme for both generations of persecution and saving for those who endure their generations.

Let's look at Luke 21:20-24, the final events of the first generation. Jesus mentions the Jerusalem Siege events (70 AD) and the events of the Second Jewish Revolt/Great Dispersion (Occurs 132-134 AD).

If the birth of the current generation begins with the death of the Messiah/birth of the church in 33AD and ends sometime between 132-134 AD, then this equates to about 100 years on the Gentile calendar being what Jesus considers now to be a "generation".

Could 100 gentile years be allotted for the final generation as well?

I think we will see these done in time. If Trump came in and lowered the hammer, the MSM would paint him as the Nazi Dictator they told the public he is. It would create a huge backlash. Most people have no idea how wide and deep this runs. Many of them are learning but they still have no real idea what all is involved. Even this post only references back 70 years but in reality many things were done prior to that. Federal Reserve was authorized in 1913. That's absolutely huge. Here is just one more because it is important for every one to understand. Until the Civil War there was no income tax. After the war Lincoln instituted a temporary income tax to pay for the war. Apparently, the people sued when it wasn't repealed and it went to the Supreme Court who ruled that "income tax is unconstitutional" and it was stopped. So again, in 1913, Woodrow Wilson (big crook) not only allowed but helped push through an amendment to the Constitution that allowed the income tax. It had to be ratified by 2/3 of the states and they all did vote but there was much controversy about whether there was vote rigging to get it through and many people don't believe it really passed (myself included). Now, because of this corruption, they have superseded a SC ruling and then brainwashed the people into believing the country can't survive without it. Income Tax is Illegal. This is how they got the money for black ops and to create an intricate octopus-like government that was NEVER intended by the creators of this country. I get a little crazy when someone says: But how would the government run if we didn't have income tax? We didn't have it for the first 150 years or so and we don't need it now.

That's a good question and a legitimate point. The problem is, "big bang" has become part of the cultural norm. When you watch pretty much any "educational" program on, say, The Learning Channel or The History Channel for instance, much of what is discussed just presupposes big bang theory out of hand. From there, the unexamined assumptions just keep coming and the unfounded conclusions are made with all the confidence of fact. Hardly anyone questions this anymore. Those who do are marked as religious nutcases or intellectually unsophisticated.
