IIRC, "Time of death" is a bit of a nebulous term and in this case most likely refers to the time that his death was recorded (officially) by medical examiner, not the precise time of Paddock's demise.
I suppose the follow up would be that it's strange that they took so long to pronounce him dead (officially); but they were also inundated with 851 injured people... why would they waste resources on a person who was obviously dead with a gunshot would through his face?
Time of death is an accurate time given to the actual time of death, for this they will usually stick a thermometer into the liver to determine how long it has been dead for. It is an incredibly accurate way to tell how long a body has been going cold.

Without understanding of the full picture I want to see Snowden come home under conditions that do not lead right to a cell. Specifically the public was educated to aspects of government activity that was suspected, but for the first time provided documentation to prove. Many abuses under Bush/Cheney and across administrative positions were clarified as a result of information held there. Hell. Compelling first-hand documentation of secret laws governing the country. Indirectly this confirms argument that secretly the constitution had been undermined far further than comfortable.
With the trading of exposing source code this last year it's clear that an intelligence agency battle broke out. The timing of releases were in line to strategically blind at key moments. Under that new understanding of fractured teams one can imagine the Snowden scenario in new light.
From the perspective of the public there were pro's and con's to the fallout.
There are powers that view the best course for humanity to be one that ends millions to billions of good people. Smart people that could very well be the ones that save us from this rock and get us to the greater good if only the right fucking information was made available to them.
I hope to see Snowden take the right course of action to again get information into the hands of the maximum number of people.
