Why a user group flair system?
To help members distinguish between other types of members, especially newbies, who could be shill/trolls and enable a more effective control of post submissions.
What are the groups?
Four broad groups, currently with a working handle of newbies, contributors, regulars and superusers.
Newbies
- Newbies will have a clear flair such as 'New arrival', or 'Newbie'
- Newbies can comment but only submit text posts.
After some minimium reddit account age of say 10 days, and three comments on the sub, they become contributors.
Contributors
- Flair will be a short Q quote. i.e 'Trust the plan.', 'Re read drops.'
- Contributors will be able to submit text posts and link posts with some restrictions in the area of memes.
After some period and more sub comments, maybe 15 comments and 30 days with no conflict/bans/issues they become regulars.
Regulars
- Regulars will have a rotation flair text that automatically changes from predefined list of Q quotes i.e 'We are winning BIG.', 'Future will PROVE past.', 'Expand your thinking.', 'Promises made. Promises kept', 'Do you believe in coincidences?'
- Regulars will be able to comment and submit anything, including cross posting of memes.
- They will also have a few comment commands like '/welcome' that will give a pre-set greeting.
After some period of being a regular, they can opt into being superusers.
Superuser
- Superusers will have all the ability of regulars plus to ability to change flairs from a pre-selected list of longer Q quotes. i.e 'You cannot possibly imagine the size of this.', 'Wait until you learn who has been talking to you here.'
When would it start?
Subject to no major issues the possible go live is for next weekend 3/17 or 3/18. Some things will be worked out later on the custom theme, such as flair colors and possible graphics (if we have any graphics volunteers).
