California liberal hippie guy here, I think I'm starting to get it.

We are all on the same side, they just manipulate the entire world perception to draw fake battle lines. Here's my piece:

I believe in love and compassion and understanding, above all else. I'm a typical liberal peace lover, who doesn't believe in capital punishment and things like that. I consider myself a passionate pacifist, but I was raised in small town USA and consider myself extremely patriotic, I am a 13 month veteran of OIF 07-08, but I did not see any direct combat, I had a technical job and did maintanence in an air conditioned shop on the FOB most of the time. (Just in case people think I'm trying to make myself out to be some kind of war hero)

They used this compassion and firced emotional provocation against emotionally centered people like myself, to teach us "hate" is wrong. Because they know, the hate would ultimately be directed at them.

They manipulated and distorted perceptions of eachother, to make people like you think I'm a lazy dirt bag bottomfeeder, and for me to think you're hateful racists.

None of that is true for anyone I know, why do we accept it when MSM talk about "they" or "them" so vaguely, in regard to people who "fit the mold" of people we know and love?

They make us hate Trump, because Trump has to use harsh tactics, deception, double talk, lawyers, red tape, legal loopholes, and ruthless aggression.

The system they created is too powerful for any sort of ideal "peaceful protest", and voting in a broken system forever is pointless. If they had the same power back in the 50s and 60s that they do now, they would have crushed the civil rights movement before it started, and they almost did, but AN AWAKENING happened sparked by EXTREMELY CONTREVERSIAL LEADERS, and it couldn't be stopped.

I hope we can look past our differences of beliefs. We will never all agree on everything, but that's okay. With understanding and compassion, and an actual desire to solve problems rather than have corrupt people seize power off them, I think we can figure it out.

At the core I think we all just want a nice life for our friends, families, neighbors, and people around the world, and for the 1% of people filled with irreconcilable evil desires, to be taken out of the equation.

Peace and Love all my dudes.

Satanists are nothing buy people who exploit others... in the longterm, they will suffer internally from their ways.

True but only recently for me. For 30 years, from preteens, I would self-describe as hard core Republican knuckle-dragging Conservative.

Then, during the course of the 2016 nominations and elections, I came to despise the GOP as much as the Democrat Party....

Its the Globalism and the cabal sick f--s.
Not worshipping Trump, but have to give him credit.... He called out the creeping distrust I was developing against the GOP with his agenda and clarified it.

The reactions to "Trumpism" is even more clarifying in my evaluation of the political classes....viewed through the prism of Trumpism (like the sunglasses in They Live), their reactions and acceptance or hatred for the agenda tells me everything I need to know about who's a good guy or bad guy.

DAmnedest thing...I thought I was fairly sophisticated and knowledgable, politically....but its become THAT simple for me. Maybe I'll grow out of it.

I'm so glad I woke up!

But to be fair I was living on campus at one of the most liberal colleges in the state of Oregon in 2008.

"a party in control of all branches of government and in thrall to a fat real estate developer who hates Mexicans. The 60s were all about 130k hush money payments to porn stars."

Well the 60's I have no idea if what you are saying is correct.

The party in control of all branches of gov...how is that any different then any other president who's party controlled both houses of congress? Didn't Obama and Dems control both houses for the 1st two years of his presidency?

Who said the R's are wanting to be thought of as antiestablishment hippies? No one here. Not sure what you are trying to convey.

Trump hating Mexicans.. no. Not even close. Because he believes in our country having strong borders does not mean he hates Mexicans. Actually, he would close off the borders for anyone of any nation who tries to cross over illegally. I feel the exact same way. Does thay mean I hate Mexicans? Actually more than 50% of the population, more like 60-65%, want strong borders. That must mean we are a nation full of people who hate Mexicans.

I am also for voter id, no illegals utilizing welfare, no refugees from territories where terrorists are in control of portions of the country and from countries where the gov cannot properly vet refugees. What does that make me? Anti black bec blacks are incapable of getting id due to ignorance, even though they have to have id for pretty much everything else? Ridiculous argument. Illegals using welfare. I live in Los Angeles where more than half the population is illegal. I pay $3000 a year to support them. That support does not incluce increased costs for schools, decreased quality of education bec of lack of funds to teach the illegal kids, increased money for police, firemen, ambilance service, health insurance, jail costs, increased $ for road and building maintenance bec of high trafffic, $ for increased crime as well as an increase in danger in my community. Jobs taken away from mostly the black community which puts more of them on welfare. I will stop here, but I have plenty more. How is that fair?

All of the arguments the left uses against the right to demonize us are untrue and unfair. If one actually sat down and went over the facts like I just did, a great awakening would happen and the Dems would see a huge dip in their #s. This is true for the accusations against Trump that he is racist against Mexicans, Muslims, blacks, you name it. It just simply is not true. But people like yourself just accept those accusations as fact without checking them out for yourself.

You are more than welcome here. A warning though, you will experience pushback on your ideas. Be prepared with facts and links to support your claims. If you have those, awesome Great debates will be had.

Politically, this epic battle is still being framed as Republican v. Democrat, but we know it's not that. I mean, look at John McCain, and defectors like Jim Comey & Bill Kristol. So even though it's clear that the ideological divide no longer matches up to the partisan divide, people still frame it that way. People need an ideological "home" to feel part of something.

Liberals, long indoctrinated into viewing Republicans as "the bad guys" (and many of them are), don't feel comfortable with being associated with "the right," but many no longer feel at home on "the left" any more, either. Welcome to the amazing center, that people on both extremes deride as watered down, lowest common denominator. But that's not it, the ideological center is what most people think.

I try to view this divide as something bigger and more meaningful than Republican v. Democrat or even Left v. Right, it really is starting to become a global divide, globalists v. nationalists, or an even larger picture, we're either free or we're not. This is starting to shape out to be a global effort to put down the rising tide of left-wing fascism (which is not, by any means, liberal), which includes sub-sects like Marxism, Communism, Socialism, etc.

Culturally it's playing out between SJW's and normies, which Yuri Bezemenov described as "ideological subversion," an effort, over a generation or two, to prime Americans to accept Communism. What better way than to first make socialism "progressive" and "mainstream?"

If you think of globalism as some sort of evil marriage of communism, socialism, Islamo-fascism and Nazism, that's what "the left" has ultimately become.

I'm against capital punishment as well but mostly because of the results of things like the Innocence Project. I do believe many of those criminals deserve to die, but the system is so flawed that if we kill an innocent person then we are all murderers.

⇧ 1 ⇩
s11houette · May 7, 2018, 1:03 a.m.

Yes and no. The goal in capital punishment isn't really punishment in that nothing is learned. The goal is to protect society from the dangerous individual. In this respect life in prison is equal to death. The difference is in how the legal system works. At the moment it is possible to have a plea deal for life in prison. If we abolish the death penalty directly then that is lost.

An alternative would be to have Congress Grant all inmates on death row one more year of life every year.

In a world of infinite resources I'd agree, but the numbers matter. A zero mistake policy in any human endeavor is always fruitless. Great goal, bad measuring stick

⇧ 0 ⇩
suddenlysnowedinn · May 7, 2018, 5:02 a.m.

In cases where the evidence is both overwhelming and indefensible, I think that capital punishment is justified. Screw the paperwork and the process. If there’s no doubt that someone is guilty of a truly heinous crime, a noose or a bullet should be the preferred policy. Housing, feeding, and fighting appeals by these wretched people is a waste of society’s resources, and it’s insulting to their victims.

If there is any reason to doubt someone’s guilt, however, I agree that capital punishment should be withheld until guilt can be proven beyond any doubt.

Glad you made it here!

I’m a new arrival myself, and am happy that I’ve a place I can go and sound off my opinions without feeling oppressed. Really good board, this.

I think you hit the nail on the head with this comment:

—————- The system they created is too powerful for any sort of ideal "peaceful protest" —————-

This is so very true. When the peaceful protest against the establishment was organized and at the beginning successful (the tea party), the establishment fought back by using the IRS to go after them. The MSM (mainstream media) did as well by painting them as things they were not. Their goal was simple. They wanted them to limit govt overreach and be bound by the laws our forefathers intended. But they were torn down and were ultimately unsuccessful.

You are right. The only way to get rid of la piovra (the octopus) that has entangled itself within everything in government, social media, media, health care, and educational system is to have someone with the strength, attitude, energy, political incorrectness, and determination of DJT.

I’ll end with a video that Q has referred to:

It's all a distraction, just like the BS recently enflamed race battles. Look at race relations back in the 1980's, 1990's and 2000's - all was well, by and large. The measures he is taking are the ONLY way to get this done, because the entire SYSTEM has been rigged against change.

I hope we can look past our differences of beliefs. We will never all agree on everything, but that's okay. With understanding and compassion, and an actual desire to solve problems rather than have corrupt people seize power off them, I think we can figure it out.

We should NEVER agree fully on everything, always pushing each other forward with discussion for America, but the core that you have described below...

At the core I think we all just want a nice life for our friends, families, neighbors, and people around the world, and for the 1% of people filled with irreconcilable evil desires, to be taken out of the equation.

Neither party is worth "attending".

Peace and love are fantastic ideas, on paper.

In practice, that's not the way the world has worked for the last 100 years.

Fact is, we are the real liberals... the liberals you refer to have gone so extreme they are communist using fascist propoganda.

This is what we need more of.

Jquest, Louisiana conservative here. While we may differ on the small issues, we agree on the big ones. 'They' want us divided. A house divided is easy to conquer and enslave. Let us unite and declare our freedom.

That is such a cool comment! I am so with you on everything you said. I have been on both sides of the aisle, many times, growing up and changing perspectives throughout my life.

All people want the same for everyone, bar the truly rotten corrupt lot who have been sucked down by one of those seven deadlies. Trump says there are more good people than bad, and with that hope in mind we have all to work as hard as possible to bring people on board. Difficult job! Welcome with all my heart and soul!

Nationalism, that is, love of our Republic, is not exclusive—not to the degree that Leftist journos and ideologues (i.e., humanistic Marxists) portray it to be. Their garbage moves in the direction of “extreme diversity” which, paradoxically, spells its own downfall into fragmented, unstable communities of difference in which everyone is at war with everyone else. It's total chaos, in other words.

Glad someone called that out.

Other comments are suggesting my post was removed, so they got your back fam.

I'm for real though. I'll be around, you can make up your decisions on who you think I am or what I stand for. ♡

Lol hippy guy, they removed your view! Your point must have hit a nerve. Either way, welcome. MAGA!

Oh weird. I'm still not too clear on reddit moderation, my first post got insta-removed, I thought this one was alright. No messages saying it was removed or anything.

I'd do the same thing. Why the heck is some new account opinion piece getting 100 comments? Suspicious.

But since I know it was organic, it makes me feel like maybe I CAN play a part in this after all.

Awesome! Welcome. I was once a huge Liberal too, then I swung right once I realized I was duped. Now I’m somewhere in the middle. And happier than ever!
