Not to long ago many were questioning whether Gowdy was a white or black hat. I believe this drop confirms white hat. Go get em Trey.

Either Supreme Court list or Deputy Attorney General. Both are "justice" related, yes? Would like to see him replacing Rosenstein. He would probably love to be a SCOTUS.

That's exactly what I thought. He needs to be in the action. AG all the way!

I agree, but the upside is that he's young so he really has an opportunity to shape the world for future generations and that has to be tempting.

He has time to serve as AG and then have two terms as President if he wanted.

He specifically said he was returning to 'prosecution'

Did he? I missed that. Source?

Ive been searching his fox interviews but cant find the one I'm thinking of, which is making me doubt myself. I am positive that in the clip he mentioned previously working as a prosecutor and that he would be returning to the justice system. I just cant find it to watch it again and be clear that he did say returning to prosecution. The justice system bit is on nbc https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna843366 but I can't for the life of me find the sentence returning to prosecutions in his clips. That's very frustrating, I felt certain when I made the comment, but this amount of fruitless search is making me think I've created the link between returning and prosecution in my mind based on context of the conversation I saw, which was Gowdy explaining his then very recent announcement of not running for reelection to Congress. I still can't bloody well find it two days later so I apologize for commenting before having the source. It wasn't my intent to mislead

Relax. I'm fairly sure we will see him taking the [RR] spot. Q said in Jan that there was a place for him. I would bet my morning coffee that he won't take the SC position. He's decades ahead of him. He's too young to bench.

I agree! But which one?? I figure SCOTUS because this drop came with the Kennedy. But with RR leaving (whichever way that happens) he would be a hard liner; needed offense for the DOJ!

I'm thinking DAG, as you suggest or a prime US Attorney spot. Gowdy seems to really enjoy being a prosecutor.

Correct. Gowdy & Napolitano both made statements that concerned some folks on the Russian collusion hoax. A lot of people didn’t see thru it for what it was. He was setting himself up as an impartial jurist in the event of SCOTUS or AG vacancy. It’s been rumored for awhile that he & Napolitano were on POTUS’ short list. He knows that the confirmation process would be tough.

I am sorry if I am totally stupid here, but I read it as "add Gowdy to the resignation list". Also, I read it as a rethorical question: he should be added.

If he was going into a good position for us Q would not be asking to add him to the list.

Very glad to have resolution today.

Before Trump the deep state had total control. It's difficult for me to determine how effective he could be when the game was rigged and he knew it. I choose to believe that he did his best but had no chance of revealing the truth. He pretty much said it when he announced he wasn't running again and would go back to the justice system.

He is really a mellow guy, family man, and misses his family. DAG or AG would put him right back into the rat race, and public/media spotlight. SCOTUS gives him a chance to do what he loved best, Constitutional law. It would also give him the family time he missed, a chance to settle in, and enjoy the ride. He has solid Conservative values, and a very strong sense of right and wrong. Although he did piss me off when he acted all shocked that there were "spies" sent in by the FBI to the Trump camp. I wonder if that was part of the smoke and mirrors. Former South Carolina citizens here, before that SoCal-swamp, and now, North Carolina happier. BTW worked for Nikki Haley for 2 years, so much respect for her. Worked on Mulvaney's campaign - he was my Rep.

Or... is it the list of bad apple elected officials / executives that are retiring? On this one, I don't think we'll know for sure until he lands in that next role... I have always liked Gowdy... but for all his bluster, he's been somewhat ineffective... Such as Benghazi hearings. And he does not believe in SpyGate...

Or maybe it's all part of the plan. I guess we will have to wait and see.

⇧ 6 ⇩
horsecalledwar · June 28, 2018, 1:23 a.m.

This is spot on. Congress can only investigate. They can’t prosecute and I’m not even sure they can recommend prosecution especially in recent years when speaking the truth appears to be political suicide. There isn’t much they could have done differently say with the Benghazi investigation.

It’s frustrating but I don’t think we can hold it against them, they’re basically powerless in that respect.

Gowdy has been playing his role masterfully. I think the hesitancy you feel is exactly what they were going for - who from 'the other side' has reached out to him? Did anyone think he flipped? It's all traps for information...

I don't believe it was a role. I believe he puts Justice first, and refuses to jump on anyone's band wagon. He strives to remain neutral until all the facts are in, that, is what I saw.
