Florida Couple Arrested For Refusing to Quarantine – Property Manager Videotaped Couple Walking Their Dog and Gave Footage to Police

 

A couple living in the Florida Keys were arrested Wednesday morning for refusing to quarantine after testing positive for the Coronavirus.

 

Jose Interian, 24, and Yohana Gonzalez, 26, are now facing second-degree misdemeanor charges for violating isolation rules for a quarantine.

 

The Miami Herald reported that a neighbor caught the couple on video walking around outside of their home and “going about normal life functions.”

 

Neighbors were furious after they saw the couple walking their dog, washing the car and going to the grocery store.

 

The videotape was then given to police and authorities moved in and arrested the couple.

 

The Miami Herald reported:

 

Two Key West residents who tested positive for COVID-19 were jailed Wednesday night after defying a quarantine order from the state health department, the city manager said.

 

Freire posted on his Facebook page July 14 that he had tested positive for the virus, urging anyone who had been in contact with him in the past week to get tested.

 

But he and Gonzalez failed to follow orders to remain at home and wear face masks around others, according to an isolation order issued to both on July 21 by the Florida Department of Health in Monroe County that directed them to stay at home for 14 days.

 

On Wednesday, the property manager at their apartment complex reported to Key West police that the two were not following the order, saying Freire had walked his dog, gone to the grocery store and washed his car. Both had been seen leaving and returning home without wearing face masks, according to a police report.

 

The property manager gave police some video footage of the couple. It was taken by a surveillance camera located in a common area of the complex.

 

“An officer took the video to the judge and the judge signed the warrant,” Key West City Manager Greg Veliz said.

Twitter is punishing a news organization for live-streaming a press conference held by a congressman and licensed medical doctors.

 

Breitbart News lodged an appeal with Twitter on Tuesday afternoon. Nearly 48 hours later, Twitter has yet to respond or restore Breitbart’s ability to post. Twitter has not replied to a Breitbart News request for comment on how long such a review is expected to take.

 

Twitter took down the video and locked Breitbart’s account shortly after similar censorship by YouTube and Facebook.

 

On the latter platform, Breitbart’s video accumulated over 17 million views and was the top-performing post on the social network globally. On YouTube, the video accumulated over 80,000 views before being taken down by the Google-owned platform.

 

The video showed a press conference held by the organization America’s Frontline Doctors, organized and sponsored by the Tea Party Patriots. Since the video of the conference went viral, it appears that America’s Frontline Doctors have had their website taken offline.

Walmart to Lay Off Hundreds of Corporate Workers

 

 

Walmart Inc. is joining the ranks of Macy’s and L Brands in eliminating hundreds of corporate jobs in order to cut costs.

 

Employees in the mega-retailer’s store planning, logistics, and real estate units have reportedly received pink slips, reported Bloomberg Thursday:

 

Some of those affected were told in person, while others learned their fate over a Zoom call, said the people, who asked not to be identified because they aren’t authorized to speak publicly. Conversations with those impacted will continue throughout the week. Those who lose their jobs will be paid until the end of January, when Walmart’s fiscal year ends and annual bonuses get doled out, according to one of the people.

 

John Furner, director of Walmart’s U.S. operations, told Bloomberg that more information about the company’s restructuring would be forthcoming after communications with associates are completed.

 

“We are continuing on our journey to create an omni-channel organization within our Walmart U.S. business and we’re making some additional changes this week,” a spokesperson said, adding that efforts will seek to boost “innovation, speed and productivity.”

 

While Walmart’s sales during the coronavirus pandemic have surged, it is no longer opening new stores in the United States, and has been streamlining its operations for several years. Recently, it closed down its Jet.com e-commerce unit.

 

According to the report, Walmart’s stock climbed 10% this year through Wednesday, ahead of the S&P 500 index. However, it fell 1% to $129.38 per share Thursday morning in New York.

 

Layoffs are occurring in merchandizing, transportation, human resources, and product design, Bloomberg was told.

 

L Brands Inc., which owns Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works, also announced this week it would be laying off 850 office workers, about 15 percent of its corporate staff.

 

Last month, Macy’s Inc. announced the elimination of 3,900 corporate and management positions as well.

These days our culture is pervaded by lies that are promoted as true. Daily, the Left introduces new distortions of language to support their latest ideology. The debasement of language is not accidental but purposeful. An insidious agenda underpins this trend.

 

People cannot make sound judgments without a pool of true facts to reason about. When deprived of facts, the resulting cognitive cage is no less a prison. The subversion of language could enslave our minds. Unless we are vigilant, America could be defeated not with a bang but a whimper.

 

Children quickly learn not to touch a hot stove, or suffer a burn. If new words were substituted, would touching the burner suddenly become safe for believers? Obviously not. Unpopular truths are facts disliked to the point of rejection. But disliking a fact does not make it any less true. Rejecting facts is a characteristic of mental illness. Liberal ideologues want to prohibit consideration of objective truths that do not fit their agenda. “Unpopular truths” are on the chopping block, to be replaced by new “politically correct” expressions.

 

The mainstream media parrot their globalist masters' script, while universities and businesses pander to the same ideology. They hope incessant repetition will gain acceptance for the lies, and unpopular truths will be forgotten. We are told that “men” can have menstrual periods and bear children. That censorship of conservatives by Big Tech isn't censorship, if it serves the interest of globalists. That cross-dressing or surgery changes a person's sex. That burning down a federal courthouse is a peaceful demonstration. That corrupt and demented senior Joe Biden could run the country. That Islam is a religion of peace. That victimhood is a noble and desirable condition. And many believe.

 

Schools, libraries, and other publicly-funded institutions boost the new dogmas. Grotesque transvestites are presented as role models. Abhorrent sexual practices that our grandparents could never have imagined are introduced to first-graders by mandated “diversity” curricula. How can we teach our children right from wrong, when the TV mocks us for explaining that burning down public buildings and rioting are not good ways to solve problems? Should parents yield control over raising our children to cultural Marxists?

 

One of the most powerful neologisms is “hate speech”. This category is used to terrorize people into self-censorship. Once an idea is branded “hate speech”, those who speak it can be demonized and even prosecuted under unconstitutional laws. But “hate speech” is merely speech that others hate. Our First Amendment protects all speech: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.” The only exceptions are inciting acts of violence or endangering the masses with one's words.

 

What is at stake is only our free will, national independence, and right to personal uniqueness. We must not be coerced by “politically-correct” language bullies. We need to embrace the truth. While crying “diversity”, the globalists promote conformity. The trend to homogeneity of thought and language flouts everything that past generations of Americans fought to preserve. A free society is one in which vigorous debate flourishes, not the monoculture of ideas that the Left would compel under the insincere banner of “diversity”.

 

A splinter minority hopes to overrule the silent majority. And if we remain silent, they might. It is time to become vocal. Our Constitution empowers us with freedom of speech. We need to reject the lies and insist on the truth, in our private interactions and in all public discourse. We need to be loud. We need to overcome our reticence, and speak out. Truth is the only cure.

As a result of the feedback received by the medical and patient community and at the request of Governor DeWine, the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy has withdrawn proposed rule 4729:5-5-21 of the Administrative Code. Therefore, prohibitions on the prescribing of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine in Ohio for the treatment of COVID-19 will not take effect at this time.

This will allow the Board to reexamine the issue with the assistance of the State Medical Board of Ohio, clinical experts, and other stakeholders to determine appropriate next steps.

 

The governor said his perspective was based on recommendations from Dr. Steven Hahn, the commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

 

Dr. Hahn said prescribing hydroxychloroquine should be a decision made between a doctor and a patient.

 

Therefore, I am asking the @OhioRxBoard to halt their new rule prohibiting the selling or dispensing of hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine for the treatment or prevention of COVID-19.

I love it. Seems quite reasonable to me. The answer to my Q is obviously Congress, so that just goes to show that POTUS did an end run around any plans to delay the election. As many of us here have been saying, this is not going to be a normal election no matter how you slice it.
