This is old (May 2020) but worth a read to see the twisting and spinning of the label on a box of surgical masks.

 

We recently fact-checked this false claim, yet new versions on Facebook are now pointing to a warning label that appears to be on the side of a box of disposable surgical masks. The label in the image reads:

 

"This product is an ear loop mask, this product is not a respirator and will not provide any protections against COVID-19 (coronavirus) and other viruses or contaminants."

 

The photo appears to be legitimate. But the words on the label are being misinterpreted as evidence to suggest that masks are not effective.

 

But that’s not what this photo shows. This is a misunderstanding about the kind of protection standard masks provide and a misreading of the disclaimer, which isn’t saying the masks are ineffective at limiting the spread of COVID-19.

I have been homeless since my accident and lost my home, the girl, and everything else. I have been denied several times. QAnon and the 2020’s electoral race in the United States

QAnon arisen in the United States as a prominent conspiracy theory, with important supporters, that ranges from celebrities to political leaders.

This meta-narrative has as its central core the introduction and promotion of political, economic, and smaller occult-based theories such as New World Order Theory, Deep State Theory and Global Oligarchy Theory. Consequently, it is triggering a general paradigm shift in the country. Not only that, this phenomenon already heavily influenced Trump’s well-succeeded election campaign in 2016.

But how is possible that such narratives are now mainstream? And more, how they can affect, once more, the electoral race already taking place in the United States?

To answer this, it is necessary to look at the emergence of other narratives, such as those from the #metoo and the Black Lives Matter movement. Both made it possible that marginalized communities had their demands more visible. The first one used participatory civic media to report sexual harassment in the backstage of the Hollywood cinema industry. In the second case, participatory media was fundamental in reporting police violence against protesters, as a violation of civil rights.

As so, they demonstrate the emergence of spaces where individuals can report stories in their own communities. This draws attention to subdued narratives, that otherwise, would not have attracted so much attention. This is great for open societies, but the same is also true to enhance QAnon stories, for example. In other words, to improve narratives based on disruption, with no juxtaposition within social and political reality.

More specifically, it describes America in a β€œDeep State War” being carried by the U.S. Army to dismantle a globalist criminal organization, associated with the New World Order and the Deep State, which has pierced into the highest levels of government. Urging popular support, it emphasizes a new form of nationalism based on Christianity.

Now, the country is experiencing a situation where alternative and new participatory media narrates the collapse of old establishment paradigm’s reality, while a new one is not yet formed.

These theories can also help to erode the public trust in government and elected officials, which, in turn, can be harmful to the political and electoral system. About elections, media as a pillar of democracies, is causing greater polarization, specially with the advent of the fake news phenomenon, and more recently, intensified by the spread of conspiracy theories.

Differently from years ago, conspiracy theories today have a top-down pattern, with mainstream individuals, above all, government officials, responsible for disseminating them. This is concerning because in liberal democracies, the government is supposed to be entrusted with publicizing credible information to the public, to enhance public trust. This in turn is breaking the fourth wall and making the public doubt and question the legitimacy of the government, weakening democratic values and institutions.

To sum up, the electoral scenario for the 2020’s electoral race in the United States is more complex than ever. In this β€˜post-truth’ framework, political mainstream narratives compete with an evolving meta-conspiracy theory, political paradigm shift, and a vigorous disinformation media. All this poses new challenges for a long-trusted democracy.

Maybe there is some truth to the idea that people become immersed in the notion of conspiracies.

 

We might say that's because they are all linked and not remote incidents but evidence of a combined brain in control of them and using them to establish a common goal (Cabal/NWO)

Mortgage company called offering to refinance anon to 2.375% (26yr fixed rate mortgage) but they want a $2,400 closing fee. I negotiated them to $1,800 on the closing fee, but think the rates might fall a bit more in the next couple of months? I just refi'd to 3.375% back in Feb, but paid $2K for that.

 

I'm not sure resetting the loan this frequently is sound, considering the refi cost, because of how the amortization table structures the interest into the early payments?

 

Any advice? Or, is GEOTUS gonna JUBILEE and mortgage rates won't matter soon?

It is always sound to lower your interest rate. The rate of interest on a debt is equivelent on a 1yr loan as it is on a 100 year loan. It's up to YOU to pay it back in a certain amount of time, that's why dollars to cents, it's always more responsible to take the longest term mortgage given identical interest rates. You're essentially taking access, when needed, to a 2.3% loan (say you have a touch month and you're paying 300 dollars over the minimum required, you can "borrow" that 300 dollars at will by not paying over that month)

It's a 30 year, but I specified the term at 26. Just bought the house 3 years ago for $240K. I'm trying to pay this thing off. The tax writeoff doesn't benefit me in my situation.

 

Payment is slighty less that the cost of a refi, so I value that input very much. I do get to skip a payment, so it's just costing me time. Thank you.

A landslide victory for Joe Biden is now a realistic possibility.

 

The Democratic presidential nominee has a lead of around 10 percentage points over President Trump in national polling averages, and he is up across almost all the battleground states.

 

Trump faces low job approval ratings, bad marks for his handling of the coronavirus pandemic and an ever-decreasing number of opportunities to change the direction of the race.

 

The first debate has come and gone, and the second scheduled clash has been canceled. Only one more debate, set for Oct. 22, remains.

Blue Star has said it began working for Burisma and contacting Ukrainian officials on its behalf in November 2015, and an e-mail shows that on Nov. 18, 2015, Pozharskyi sent the Blue Star contract to Hunter Biden, Archer and Eric Schwerin, president of the Rosemont Seneca Partners investment firm.

Hunter Biden and Archer were among RSP’s founders, along with former Secretary of State John Kerry’s stepson, Christopher Heinz, Reuters has reported.

The blockbuster correspondence β€” which flies in the face of Joe Biden’s claim that he’s β€œnever spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings” β€” is contained in a massive trove of data recovered from a laptop computer.

The computer was dropped off at a repair shop in Biden’s home state of Delaware in April 2019, according to the store’s owner.

Other material extracted from the computer includes a raunchy, 12-minute video that appears to show Hunter, who’s admitted struggling with addiction problems, smoking crack while engaged in a sex act with an unidentified woman, as well as numerous other sexually explicit images.

The customer who brought in the water-damaged MacBook Pro for repair never paid for the service or retrieved it or a hard drive on which its contents were stored, according to the shop owner, who said he tried repeatedly to contact the client.

The shop owner couldn’t positively identify the customer as Hunter Biden, but said the laptop bore a sticker from the Beau Biden Foundation, named after Hunter’s late brother and former Delaware attorney general.

Photos of a Delaware federal court subpoena given to The Post show that both the computer and hard drive were seized by the FBI in December, after the shop’s owner says he alerted the feds to their existence.

Still, the bakery tries to be fair.

Right now, Trump is leading over Biden but the cookie poll will be on-going through Election Day.

Mainstream media have been trumpeting a lot of the polls being for Joe Biden.

We’ve pointed out the problems of some of those polls and how there are the other polls, like the Democracy Institute poll, that find President Donald Trump ahead because they’re measuring likely voters not registered voters and they aren’t oversampling Democrats. Most are also not measuring things like the shy Trump voter or that the youth vote is again unlikely to come out in greater numbers.

But what’s missing in a lot of the discourse is that the measures apart from MSM national polls by which you judge whether a president will be reelected are all for Trump.

First there’s no indication of a youth voter surge, that’s bad for the Democrats who poll much higher with the young than other age groups.

As I already wrote about, Trump has a 51% approval rating from Zogby.

Gallup has found whenever the incumbent has over 50%, he’s reelected.

Gallup also found that 56% Americans thought they were better off now than four years ago under Barack Obama and Joe Biden. A reporter asked Joe Biden about that, he got snippy and said that if people thought that they didn’t have to vote for him and that their memories were somehow wrong.

The important thing to note? How high that number is for Trump and that all the prior president in 2012, 2004, 1992, 1984 who even had lower numbers were reelected.

David Chapman did a great Twitter thread of some of the other historical measures.

β€œ[N]o incumbent who has received at least 75% of the primary vote has lost re-election. Donald Trump received 94% of the primary vote, which is the 4th highest all-time. Higher than Eisenhower, Nixon, Clinton, and Obama.”

Oh, and it gets better.

This tallies with the Helmut Norpoth prediction model that cites the importance of the primary numbers and also predicts a Trump win. People came out in droves for Trump in the primary when they didn’t even have to.

Among various types of objectionable content, conspiracy theories drew the smallest share of social media users (47%) who agreed with that such content should be removed from platforms

 

As Facebook Inc. and Twitter Inc. clamp down on content tied to the pro-Trump conspiracy theory QAnon, new Morning Consult survey data indicates it won’t be an easy task.

 

One-quarter of social media users who have heard of QAnon say they believe the group’s conspiracy theories are at least somewhat accurate, while 12 percent said they have either engaged with or posted about QAnon content in a positive way.

 

The survey, which was conducted Oct. 6-8 among 2,199 U.S. adults, including 2,073 social media users, has a margin of error of 2 percentage points. Out of the wider sample, 1,000 adults say they have heard of QAnon, which has a 3-point margin of error.

Hunter Biden introduced his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden, to a top executive at a Ukrainian energy firm less than a year before the elder Biden pressured government officials in Ukraine into firing a prosecutor who was investigating the company, according to e-mails obtained by The Post.

The blockbuster correspondence β€” which flies in the face of Joe Biden’s claim that he’s β€œnever spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings” β€” is contained in a massive trove of data recovered from a laptop computer.

The computer was dropped off at a repair shop in Biden’s home state of Delaware in April 2019, according to the store’s owner.

Other material extracted from the computer includes a raunchy, 12-minute video that appears to show Hunter, who’s admitted struggling with addiction problems, smoking crack while engaged in a sex act with an unidentified woman, as well as numerous other sexually explicit images.

The customer who brought in the water-damaged MacBook Pro for repair never paid for the service or retrieved it or a hard drive on which its contents were stored, according to the shop owner, who said he tried repeatedly to contact the client.

The shop owner couldn’t positively identify the customer as Hunter Biden, but said the laptop bore a sticker from the Beau Biden Foundation, named after Hunter’s late brother and former Delaware attorney general.

Photos of a Delaware federal court subpoena given to The Post show that both the computer and hard drive were seized by the FBI in December, after the shop’s owner says he alerted the feds to their existence.

In September there was an increase in activity from refuelling crafts from the US’ Guam air base, which were used to top up the tanks of surveillance aircraft. The majority of the planes appeared to fly over the South China Sea – though 13 flew over the Yellow sea and around six flew over the East China Sea.

 

The data was reported by the South China Sea Strategic Situation Probing Initiative this week.

 

It said the increase in refuelling activity in particular could indicate that the US was preparing for further long-distance flights.

 

The think tank said the activity was β€œunusual” given the refuelling vehicles were dispatched from the Guam airbase.

 

It would have been more economical for them to have taken off from the US’ Kadena airbase, which is located in nearby Japan.

 

It added: β€œSuch operations are more probably preparing for future long-distance refuelling in extreme conditions, and thus deserve great attention.”

 

The SCSPI said the activity showed the South China Sea was the US’ β€˜primary focus’.

However, it added there was a significant increase in Yellow Sea activity as well.

 

The figure of 60 flights may be a low estimate, however. The report notes that in some cases, US planes had deliberately disguised themselves by pretending to be non-military jets.

 

In at least two instances, USAF planes changed their identification codes – known as ICAO hex codes – mid-flight, so that they looked like more local aircraft instead when tracked.
