Vanguard Reports Record Number Of “Hardship Withdrawals” From 401ks

Joe Biden’s economy is devastating Americans.

Vanguard is reporting that a record number of Americans used hardship withdrawals from their 401ks in 2022.

A hardship withdrawal allows someone to access their 401K for an “immediate and heavy financial need.”

Fox13 reported:

A record-breaking number of Americans are making emergency withdrawals from their 401(k) retirement plans in order to cover a financial emergency as high inflation rages, according to new data from Vanguard Group.

About 2.8% of workers participating in employer-sponsored 401(k) plans made a so-called “hardship” withdrawal in 2022, according to data from Vanguard, which tracks about 5 million accounts. That marks a major increase from the 2% rate recorded before the pandemic began and is also up from the 2.1% reading in 2021.

Fiona Greig, global head of investor research and policy at Vanguard, said the high number of withdrawals is “evidence that some families may be feeling the pinch and drawing on their 401(k) balances to relieve that financial stress.”

Hardship withdrawals allow workers to tap their 401(k) for an “immediate and heavy financial need.”

Inflation turned higher to start 2023, as rising shelter, gas and fuel prices took their toll on consumers, the Labor Department reported Tuesday.

The consumer price index, which measures a broad basket of common goods and services, rose 0.5% in January, which translated to an annual gain of 6.4%. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones had been looking for respective increases of 0.4% and 6.2%.

Excluding volatile food and energy, core CPI increased 0.4% monthly and 5.6% from a year ago, against respective estimates of 0.3% and 5.5%.

Credit Suisse Group AG notified its workforce about a 'rogue' employee, who has since left the Swiss bank, stole personal data, including salaries and bonuses, of other employees.

Recruitment company eFinancialCareers first reported the former employee stole personal data years ago. At the time, the staffer had legitimate access to employee data and transferred it to a personal device in breach of company policies.

eFinancialCareers provided a snippet of the email that went out to employees:

"An individual employee, who has since left the firm and had legitimate access to your personal data at the time of their daily work, inappropriately copied this information without Credit Suisse authorization onto their personal device."

The email outlined that "salary and variable compensation" data between 2013-15 was taken. Also, bank account information to pay bonuses and salaries was copied onto the personal device.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has thanked the countries that provided assistance after two terrible earthquakes

The assistance Türkiye has received from the global community following devastating earthquakes once again proves how important international solidarity is, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said. He addressed the participants of the World Government Summit in a video message on Tuesday.

The president stressed his country “will not forget the helping hand extended in difficult times,” as he thanked all of those who assisted in relief efforts after Türkiye was rocked by the disaster last week.

“Some states sent rescuers to Türkiye, some showed solidarity by initiating campaigns to collect aid. Some states have issued statements of support for Ankara,” noted Erdogan.

A magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck the province of Gaziantep in southeastern Türkiye on the morning of February 6, followed hours later by a magnitude 7.6 quake in nearby Kahramanmaras Province. The earthquakes wrought unbelievable destruction across nine Turkish provinces and in neighboring northern Syria. Relief efforts are still ongoing, with rescuers from around the globe flying in to help.

Erdogan said that a total of 13.5 million people in Türkiye have been affected by the earthquakes, which scientists have compared to the explosion of 500 atomic bombs. According to the president, that makes them not only one of the largest natural disasters ever in the country, but also in all of recorded history.

Turkish officials have yet to reach a final estimate of how many people lost their lives in the disaster, but the latest figures suggest that over33,000 people were killed.

However, Erdogan stated that a large number of the 81,000 people who were injured in the catastrophe have already been discharged from hospitals. He also said that some 8,000 people have been rescued from under collapsed buildings.

Meanwhile, the economic toll of the earthquakes has been estimated at a staggering $84 billion in Türkiye alone – over a tenth of the country’s GDP, according to a business group cited by Bloomberg.

The Washington Post published an article last week, during the height of buzz about the House Oversight Committee’s investigation into the Biden family’s influence-peddling operation, pointing the corruption finger at former President Donald Trump and his son-in-law Jared Kushner. “An investment fund overseen by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is backing ventures that profit the former president and his senior adviser, raising questions of conflict,” the article alleges.

Within days of the report’s publication, corporate media outlets such as CNN, MSNBC, and even Rolling Stone featured anti-Trump information on their pages and networks.

The point of amplifying the report is twofold.First, it gives the media and their Democrat allies more ammo against Trump’s third presidential run.

FTC Commissioner Announces Resignation, Cites Biden-Appointed Chair’s ‘Abuse Of Power’

Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Commissioner Christine Wilson announced her resignation Tuesday in a Wall Street Journal column, saying she refuses to give Biden-appointed Chair Lina Khan’s “abuses of government power” legitimacy by staying with the agency.

Khan’s time as chair has sparked controversy since shortly after her appointment in June 2021, when Republicans began voicing concern about her alleged exclusion of Republican colleagues from aspects of antitrust enforcement. Wilson, prior to penning her resignation in the WSJ, was among those critical of Khan’s approach and testified before the Senate in September 2021, accusing Khan of tearing down “the FTC’s rich bipartisan tradition.”

Wilson wrote in her column that pushing back on Khan’s abuses became difficult because she “consolidated power within the Office of the Chairman” and was enabled by “senior FTC officials.”

Wilson pointed to Khan’s actions in the FTC’s challenge to Meta’s acquisition of virtual-reality gaming company Within.

“Before joining the FTC, Ms. Khan argued that Meta should be blocked from making any future acquisitions and wrote a report on the same issues as a congressional staffer,” she said. “She would now sit as a purportedly impartial judge and decide whether Meta can acquire Within. “I disagree with Ms. Khan’s policy goals but understand that elections have consequences,” Wilson said. “My fundamental concern with her leadership of the commission pertains to her willful disregard of congressionally imposed limits on agency jurisdiction, her defiance of legal precedent, and her abuse of power to achieve desired outcomes.”

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine on Tuesday indicated that his administration had not accepted an offer of assistance to manage a catastrophic chemical train wreck that has been burning in a small town for the last several days.

Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) blasted the IRS on Monday for allegedly conducting "government surveillance" on Americans following a Just the News report on the agency's invasive questioning of an election education nonprofit, as the House Oversight Committee requested to see the underlying documents.

In action reminiscent of the Lois Lerner targeting scandal under the Obama administration when the IRS singled out conservative groups for audits, the Biden IRS last year subjected an election education nonprofit applying for tax-empt status to intrusive formal questioning the group believes infringed on its speech rights under the First Amendment.

Just the News reported the story on Sunday after reviewing documents exchanged between the IRS and the Adams, Baldwin, and Covey Foundation, Inc. (ABC) that showedthe agency grilling the foundation about its views on electionsand how it would prevent "inflammatory language" from being creeping into its educational activities.

TheIRS questions are "further evidence that the Biden administration believes it has the authority to license thought and speech, and it doesn't," Phill Kline, a founder of the organization, told Just the News.

Responding to the story Monday on "Just the News, No Noise" TV show, Biggs, who sits on the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees, said the IRS is supposed to perform ministerial functions, such as receiving taxes, not regulate speech.

The queries in the IRS interrogatory are "a form of government surveillance of the American people," Biggs said, noting that he's the chairman of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Federal Government Surveillance."There is no authority for the IRS to regulate speech."

"They're doing ministerial functions, receiving your taxes, receiving your tax returns, that's their job," Biggs explained. "Their job is not to regulate speech or to adjudicate whether you have provided misinformation or not. That is a clear violation of their authority, even if you give the most broad interpretation of the 16th Amendment. And so, we're going to have to attack it through the Oversight Committee, in my opinion."

After Just the News reached out to the Oversight Committee on Monday, the committee requested the underlying documents the Sunday story was based on, which have since been provided.

"[W]e have seen this in the past, we have seen the weaponization of virtually every bureaucracy in America, in the federal government," Biggs said. "And so, this is no surprise — actuallykind of wondered why we didn't discover anything sooner from the IRS, especially since … they're in the process of hiring 87,000 new IRS agents.

"This is nothing less than the weaponization — we saw it under Obama with Lois Lerner and the attack against conservative 501(c)(3)s and nonprofits. You're seeing it again, already, and that doesn't surprise me, but you're going to see this going all over in a broad spectrum."

Saying that he "would wholeheartedly agree" with Biggs' comments, Kline told Just the News on Monday he is concerned about "the consistency" with which government agencies throughout the Biden administration are surveilling political speech, "as if it's by particular design and belief that it's the proper role of government, and it's not."

The agencies' actions are ominously "consistent with Biden's speech that half of the American people are the enemy of America," Kline observed, referring to Biden's "red speech" in Philadelphia in September, where he said, "Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our Republic."

Kline condemned Biden's comments, saying that the government's surveillance of speech "is a greater threat to democratic principles" than the purported threat cited by the president.

The former Kansas attorney general said he is "really encouraged that our elected representatives are taking a look" at the IRS handling of organizations seeking tax-exempt status, "trying to rein in this abuse, because it's intimidation tactics and abuse of [the federal government's] authority."

The IRS told Just the News on Tuesday that "[d]ue to disclosure laws," the agency "cannot comment on private taxpayer matters."

4.2. Influenza Vaccine

Multiple cases have linked influenza vaccinations to autoimmune complications in relation to the endocrine system. A case study demonstrated a 21-year-old Caucasian male patient who presented with adrenal crisis one week following the administration of the influenza vaccine alongside diphtheria, tetanus, and acellular pertussis (DTaP) [49]. In addition, Hsiao et al. reported a case involving a 25-year-old female who developed neck pain and swelling two days following influenza vaccine administration [50]. Fine needle aspiration of the lesion revealed multinuclear giant granulomas in the thyroid gland. Another case of a 36-year-old female demonstrated symptoms of tachycardia, anxiety, and tenderness in her neck one month following the administration of H1N1 influenza vaccine [51]. The patient was later diagnosed with subacute thyroiditis.

Furthermore, numerous studies have linked influenza vaccination to Guillain–Barré syndrome (GBS). For instance, in the 1970s during the influenza vaccination program among military personnel in the US, one case of GBS was described for every 10,000 vaccinated individuals [52]. Additionally, in a meta-analysis of 39 studies published between 1981 and 2014, an increased risk of GBS following the administration of influenza vaccine was found; this increase was particularly prominent in patients receiving H1N1 vaccination [53].

Vasculitis has also been linked to influenza vaccination in several studies. In an evaluation of 45 reports between 1966 to 2016, Watanbe found that 65 patients developed vasculitis in the aftermath of influenza vaccination [54]. Among the cases, 13 were large vessel vasculitis, 42 were small vessel vasculitis, and 5 were single organ vasculitis. Eight cases of giant cell arteritis (GCA) were also reported by Soriano et al. [55]. Moreover, Shoenfeld et al. reported 2 cases of ANCA-associated vasculitis following influenza vaccination [8]. The association was further elaborated in a study that displayed four cases of ANCA-associated vasculitis after influenza vaccinations, these cases included new onset as well as relapses [56].

Influenza vaccinations have also been associated with APS [47], narcolepsy [57], ADEM [46,58], Crohn’s disease [59], and transverse myelitis [60].
