That's actually one of the reasons I wanted to run again was because there's, more so in Seattle…I mean, I know it's happening in Seattle, but around the state there's much more threat of infiltration of these kinds of groups under the guise of protecting parents rights and things like that. I've been our boards liason to WASSA, which is the Washington State School Directors Association, and I found the opportunity to advocate for positions and vote on positions to be supported by the whole body to protect us against just such those things.

Along with my fellow candidates, I do not support banning books. I do think we need to go deeper in our understanding about how this information does impact schools like I had mentioned before. There are parents opting out for their children to learn about gender identity and LGBTQ issues. That is part of banning and misinformation, and it does happen in Seattle, and we need a strong leader that understands this and can fight effectively against it and that includes in Olympia as well.

Representation Matters

I am running because representation matters. We represent each other from our lived experience and are connected to those communities we share common identities with. I am a non-binary working class white queer person (she/they) who was born in Seattle, brought up in Auburn and Kent and moved back to Seattle over 25 years ago. I have lived in North Seattle since 2013. My family is neurodivergent, mixed race and LGBTQ+. My partner is mixed blood Alaskan Native, and my kiddo is South Asian. We are a foster to adopt family. My child entered Seattle Public Schools in preschool with an IEP and she is about to graduate from kindergarten. My identity and my family's diversity shape where I come from, and how I show up as a leader.

We live in a climate where multiple states like Florida and Texas are passing laws against trans and LGBTQ+ kids as well as adults. Schools have become the battle ground for this hate. As an out LGBTQ+ person I want to champion a LGBTQ+ and racial equity lens on the school board. I want children and youth to know that they deserve to be safe and treated fairly. Representation matters in policy development and budget decisions, and it is imperative we have LGBTQ+ representation at the highest level of decision making in our school district.

When the reporter chose quotes like the following:

“I grow my own vegetables; I bake my own bread,” Hoeber said. She makes her own ammunition “for the same reason … cost savings, more control and higher quality.”

There’s a bit of nagging suspicion.

That's not even the whole problem.

 

You see ages ago I moved 350 miles to my girlfriend back then. Her parents even renovated our apartment during their holiday time.

And she even told her mother that she is so happy that I move there during these renovations and that we would visit her grandparents soon.

2 weeks after that she came to me to relocate, but acted like a bitch just like that.

I assumed she was simply stressed, as was I.

In the end that acting like a total bitch never stopped and she even cheated on me a few weeks after relocating.

It's one thing that she lied to me, but lied to her mother, and then even let them renovate an apartment that I had to live in for 1 or 2 years until I was finally able to get out of the rental contract.

 

This shit showed me how fucked it all is and it was also the worst time of my life.

 

But what's even crazier is that she even contacted me via e-mail almost at the time where the contract ended asking me if I wanted to drink some coffee with her. How fucked up someone has to be to do something like that, never even say that she's sorry, I refused of course, and she acted out. I have no fucking idea what the hell happened in her mind.

 

Of course nowadays at least I know that she being on birth control was a really bad decision and thinking back I notice that she went from really nice to sometimes bitchy after she started taking it.

 

Still whatever that shit does to the brain, none of what she did made any sense.

 

Fuck, she even complained that her mother and I were such great buddies, despite HER even originally asking me that I should improve the relationship with her mother and I did so, as requested.

 

Anyway you can blame birth control as much as you want, or the system supporting divorce.

A dose of Moderna’s Covid jab injured the hearts of about 3 percent of people who received it, Swiss researchers have found. The vaccinated people did not show obvious signs of heart damage. But when researchers ran blood tests three days after the jabs, they found high levels of troponin, a protein the heart releases when it is injured, in many recipients. “Subclinical mRNA vaccine-associated myocardial injury is much more common than estimated based on passive surveillance,” the researchers concluded. The paper was published last week in the peer-reviewed European Journal of Heart Failure. Over 1 billion people have received mRNA jabs.

The one problem with the constitution is that there is vague language there the problem then falls to the often times corrupt supreme court to make decisions that are often not in favor of the people. So it is these interpretations and then they cite long standing often times as well for their rulings. So if the Federal government controls national security, at what point does the individual states becoming weak become a national security problem, at what point can the federal government just seize state power claiming jurisdiction. Its not as clear cut as some extreme constitutionalists may like people to think.

The reason politics were more civil in the past is because DC didn't decide daily life issues.

 

We need far less government at all levels. Strip the federal government bare. Remove all agencies to which authority has been delegated.

 

A single person can fight with city hall. They can campaign, work, and fight legally. A single person CANNOT fight with DC. There's simply too much separation and too much protection for accountability to exist.

 

We need government that's accessible to everyone, and it needs to be minimally protected (if at all). Accountability and ease of replacement should be the beacon call. Remove protections from the people ruining society and watch it correct itself.

 

Plus, seriously, if the states are supreme, then one can vote with their feet and move somewhere else if their opinions and beliefs align more closely to a different state.

I think one of the first things is to get the kids interacting with each other again. That lockdown, mask wearing, six feet apart thing has messed up quite a bit of the social skills. Get them playing together, making friends. Back in the day there was gym class where a big ole parachute was hauled out and by cooperating kids could make that parachute do cool things.

The whole teacher helps kid go transgender without informing the parents is right out. Unions and school boards that back that kinda of crap need to be tossed

No, that would not work for exceptionally large places. Heavily populated areas will have to be subdivided such that school boards are actually visible, and thus accountable, to the average person. Without a "higher authority" to hide behind, school admins will have to listen to parents.

 

<How do you transition larger places also like chicago over to a localized level when so much is based upon federal and state funds it gets just to do the poor job it is doing.

 

There's some simple solutions:

 

  1. Make a "school district" out of each school. There will be no higher authority they can hide behind. If the teachers / admins suck and the students aren't performing, then parents would have quick, and direct access to the people responsible.

 

  1. Budgets would be at the school district level, nothing higher. This removes the cruft and waste because instead of filtering money through the federal government or state government, the people wasting money on foolish things would be directly accountable to the parents and children they are letting down. This also means that we wouldn't be funding literally thousands of people nationwide that do NOTHING useful for the kids. The nameless, faceless government drones that push paperwork all day would be a thing of the past.

 

  1. Make parents pay for the school themselves. No federal or state money involved. Why? Because when you're writing the check, you're more involved in how the money is spent. This also removes the power of the teachers unions, because if the local school is terreible, then you don't have to pay them.

 

  1. Parental oversight. Parents should be allowed to audit the classes being taught to their children.

 

  1. All teachers and school admins shall serve "at-will" and shall receive whatever retirement plan the community wishes to fund for them.

 

This incentivizes the locals to give their school the best they can provide. It would also allow private schools to compete for educational dollars.

 

Are there other aspects that would be worthwhile to discuss?

I am intrigued, trying to think quickly if there are things that should also be thought of, the biggest obstacle is not the positions themselves per se its the ability to fire people from said positions this goes for teachers as well as federal bureaucrats. No doubt overpaid and the fact its impossible to fire them creates huge problems. One question I think that might come up is how do the county level model deal with certifications for teaching? I think putting the money also back in the communities hands will do better. I think will also extend to the re imagining of what higher education looks like if it is even needed after this. Part of me says the college model has to be torn down totally because its not about a piece of paper that creates wage slaves. But I like that you have a basis of a plan that can be at least talked about and molded.

Places like that to my eyes perpetuate hopelessness. Students have no interest in learning because when school is done with, there is nothing to apply what they learned. Welfare Recipient became a Career Choice long ago. Heroes are made from sports, basketball foremost because football fields are hard to come by in the inner city. Heroes are made from music, the rappers "make bank" and get far away. What big city still has a shop class? I hear a few culinary classes held here or there, great for the one with talent but crashes when french fry maker is the job available after.

Cities need to invest in themselves. Community centers with nursing classes and auto shop and sewing. Yeah sewing, go from repairing old clothes and move up to upholstery as in couches and car seats. How about classes on how to restore old furniture? Show these kids there are things they can do, which can make money, and give them a sense of pride in accomplishment. Right now there is so little "up." Get community gardens going, rooftop ones and buildings can have things to trade with each other. I've seen a city kid taste a tomato that came off the vine less than fifteen minutes prior, you should see the look in their eyes when they discover what fresh food tastes like
