Trump advisors know.

They know libertarians often understand a person as either libertarian or not a libertarian, because it's a logic based system, which can have sensitive outcome of needing to use the same logic to group by not libertarian thereby grouping not libertarians into the same category.

By Trump 'self-identifying' as a libertarian to that crowd, he masterfully traversed the logical either or logic gate and thereby effectively assuring by voice that he, Trump, agrees with a lot of what the libertarians are saying, which is precisely the message they needed to hear to immediately settle that if there is going to be a two logic gate of libertarian and not libertarian, then Trump is 'with' the libertarian path.

Unfortunately the reaulting necessity of understanding a person's ideas as either libertarian or not libertarian, it sometimes gives excuse to lazy thinkers that merely the naming event when it happens, for either or unfortunate additional mistake of believing that an argument is won merely by naming a person as not libertarian.

It was a brilliant rhetorical statement. Libertarians who name themselves as libertarians, often like it when they hear someone else say they are libertarian, because it almost like a promise to the receiver, an offer of commitment to the set of ideas, what with libertarianism being in the 'underground' of idealism in 2024 if only because the empirical world of praxis in government of 2024, particularly government funding, is Marxist. Libertarianism must be idealist in a communist world of action, whereas Communism is idealist in a free enterprise world of action (in what funds governments).

The Lawrence Oโ€™Donnell Factor: Will the Trump Jury Exercise Blind Justice or Willful Blindness? May 24, 2024 1/2

 

Below is my column on Fox.com on the closure of the government and defense cases in the Trump trial. It is clear that the government is going to achieve its objective in avoiding a direct verdict and giving this matter to the jury, which it hopes that the paucity of direct evidence of a crime will be overcome with an abundance of hostility to Donald Trump. As I previously have written,I am still hopeful that these jurors will vindicate the New York legal system with at least a hung jury. In the end, we will see if a Manhattan jury will exercise blind justice or willful blindness.

 

Here is the column:

 

With closing arguments scheduled for Tuesday, May 28, the prosecution of former President Donald Trump will finally head to a jury. Judge Juan Merchan has refused every opportunity to bring an end to this politically manufactured prosecution.Now it will be up to 12 New Yorkers to do what neitherthe court nor the prosecutors were willing to do:adhere to the rule of lawregardless of the identity of the defendant.

 

Merchan has allowed the government to bring back into life a dead misdemeanor and convert it into 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in the first degree. To accomplish this legal regeneration, Manhattan District AttorneyAlvin Bragg has vaguely referenced a variety of crimesthat Trump allegedly was trying to conceal through the business record violations.

 

The problem is that he has left the secondary crime mired in uncertainty to the point that experts on various networks are still debating what the underlying theory is in the case.

 

Indeed, Bragg is expected to finally state with clarity what he is alleging โ€ฆ at the closing arguments of the case.

 

In the meantime, theprosecution is pushing to make it easier for the jury to convict. First, they havevaguely referenced a variety of possible offensesfrom tax to election violations. Bragg initially laid out four possible predicate crimes. It is down to three โ€“ a tax crime and violations of state or federal election law. (Pick a crime any crime!)

 

Merchan has ruled that the 00jury does not have to agree on what crimes were being covered up so the jury could literally have three different views of what happened in the case and still convict Trump.==

 

Prosecutors are also seeking to effectively shorten the playing field byallowing the jurors to convict on a lower standard of prooffor the key term in using โ€œunlawful means.โ€ The defense wants the jury instructed that it must find that such use of โ€œunlawful meansโ€ was done with willful intent.

 

The prosecutors do not want to use that higher standard. For the defense, it is effectively reducing the field to the end zone to make it easier for the prosecution to score.

 

In the last few days, the Bragg strategy has come into sharper focus in one respect. Bragg is not counting on the evidence or the law.He is counting on the jury.Call it the Lawrence Oโ€™Donnell factor.

 

After Michael Cohen imploded on the stand in the trial, even experts and hosts on MSNBC and CNN stated that his admissions and contradictions were devastating. Cohen is not only accused of committing perjury in his testimony, buthe matter-of-factly detailed how he stole tens of thousands of dollarsfrom the Trump organization.

 

After being disbarred and convicted as a serial perjurer,Cohen waited for the statute of limitations to run on larcenyto admit that he stole as much as $50,000 by pocketing money intended for a contractor.

 

Liberal commentators acknowledged the fact that Cohen had committed a far more serious offense than the converted misdemeanor against Trump (but was never charged). Yet,one figure stepped forward to assure the public that all was well.โ€ฆ

MSNBC host Oโ€™Donnell said that he watched the testimony and that Cohen did wonderfully. Keep in mind that Trumpโ€™s lawyer Todd Blanche asked Cohen point blank: โ€œSo you stole from the Trump organization, right?โ€ Cohen answered unequivocably: โ€œYes, sir.โ€

 

Oโ€™Donnell, however, rushed outside todeclare that Cohen was merely acquiring a bonusthat he thought that he deserved as a type of โ€œself-helpโ€:

 

โ€œCohen [was trying] to rebalance the bonus he thought he deserved. And it still came out as less than the bonus he thought he deserved and the bonus he had gotten the year before.โ€

 

In other words,he first determined that his employer should pay him moreand then elected to lie to his employer and steal the money. It is akin to New Jersey Democrat Sen. BobMenendez claiming, in his nearby trial, that the gold bars and cash found in his home were just his effort to secure a well-deserved bonus for his public service.

 

Oโ€™Donnell was widely mocked for his galactic spin. However, he reflects the greatest danger for the Trump team. Oโ€™Donnell was showing a type of willful blindness; a refusal to acknowledge even the most shocking disclosures in the trial.

 

Some of the jurors admitted that MSNBC is one on their news sources and they exhibit the same all-consuming Oโ€™Donnell obsession with Trump. If so, they could listen to contradiction to contradiction and simply not recognize them like the MSNBC host. For some, Cohen could burst into flames on the stand but their eyes will not move from the person behind the defense table.

 

Many viewers have been raised in an echo chamber of news coverage where they avoid opposing facts on both the left and the right. They actively tailor their news to fulfill a narrative or viewpoint.A jury of Oโ€™Donnellโ€™s peers would convict Trumpeven if theAngel Gabriel appeared at trialas a defense character witness.

 

It is the ultimate jury instruction not from the court but from the community. With jurors โ€œback in the worldโ€ for six days and going to holiday cookouts and events, they will likely hear much of that social judgment and the need to โ€œrebalanceโ€ the political ledger through this case.

Any US attack on Russian targets in Ukraine would automatically trigger a world war, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has warned.

 

The official, who currently serves as Deputy Chair of Russiaโ€™s Security Council, made the remarks after Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski claimedWashington had threatened to conduct such a strike should Russia use nuclear weapons in Ukraine.

 

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, Medvedev suggested that Sikorski โ€œapparently, has decided to scare his masters.โ€ He noted that Washington, unlike Warsaw, has so far refrained from making any such threats publicly โ€œbecause they are more cautiousโ€ than the Poles.

 

โ€œAmericans hitting our targets means starting a world war,and a Foreign Minister, even of a country like Poland, should understand that,โ€Medvedev added.

 

The former Russian president also cited remarks made by Polish President Andrzej Duda last month, when he said his country would be willing to host US nuclear weapons if offered such an opportunity under NATOโ€™s sharing mechanism.Medvedev warnedthat in case of a nuclear confrontation โ€œWarsaw wonโ€™t be left out, and will surely get its share of radioactive ash,โ€ asking if this is the outcome the Polish leadership really wants.

According to Sikorski, the EU should not be afraid to escalate the situation, and should not impose limits on itself regarding the Ukraine conflict, so that Moscow is left guessing what the next step will be.

 

While the US and its allies have on several occasions accused Moscow of nuclear saber-rattling, President Vladimir Putin insisted in March that at no point during the Ukraine conflict has Russia considered using such weapons. Around the same time, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stressed that Russiaโ€™s nuclear doctrine envisages theuse of weapons of mass destruction only โ€œif something threatens the existence of our country,โ€ echoing a previous statement by the head of state. During his annual address to the Federal Assembly in late February, Putin warned would-be aggressors that the nuclear arsenal was in a state of โ€œcomplete readiness for guaranteed deployment.โ€

 

Earlier this month, the Russian leader ordered an exercise in the use of tactical nuclear weapons in the Southern Military District, which borders Ukraine. Pilot 'parachutes out of crashing plane with six other passengers on board'

 

Six people miraculously managed to survive a plane crash on Saturday afternoon after the pilot parachuted out of the aircraft near Butler Memorial Airport in Bates County, Missouri.

 

The plane, a single-engine Cessna C206, crashed in a hay field close to the airport, outside of Kansas City, just before 1pm on Saturday.

 

The Bates County Sheriffโ€™s Office said the aircraft was found just east of the runway.

Ukraineโ€™s Vladimir Zelensky has urged the global community to work together against Russia, stressing that no nation can single-handedly survive a war with Moscow.

 

In an interview with Central Asian media outlets on Saturday, Zelensky said the goal should be to ensure that President Vladimir Putin โ€œthinks about his survival and his security,โ€ and that โ€œthe Russians think about how they can avoid losing the independence of their country โ€“ without threatening them โ€“ simply by showing how united the world is, how strong it is.โ€

 

Such unity is needed because โ€œno one can survive a full-scale war with the Russians on its own,โ€ the Ukrainian leader stated, as quoted by the Kazakh online magazine Vlast.

 

"We were alone, we were on our ownโ€ when Russia launched its military operation against Ukraine in February 2022, Zelensky claimed. โ€œBut then we agreed with our partners on some sort of sanctions, some sort of weapons and other things,โ€ he said, referring to the support provided by the West since the start of the conflict.

 

Even Beijing โ€œmust protect Ukraine because we were attacked,โ€ as โ€œChina says that territorial integrity must be respected,โ€ the politician argued.

 

Beijing has maintained a policy of neutrality on the Ukraine conflict, while consistently calling for a political settlement that would respect the interests of all sides. The Chinese authorities have blamed the hostilities on NATOโ€™s eastward expansion, rebuffed Western calls to impose sanctions on Russia, and opted to boost trade with its neighbor.

 

Zelensky was also asked if he was concerned about Russian President Vladimir Putinโ€™s statement earlier this week that in Moscowโ€™s view the Ukrainian leaderโ€™s legitimacy has โ€œexpired.โ€

 

Zelenskyโ€™s five-year term as Ukrainian President ended on Monday after he refused to stage a new election, citing martial law imposed due to the conflict.

 

โ€They donโ€™t concern me much at all,โ€ he replied. โ€œThese statements by the illegitimate president of Russia regarding the legitimacy of the president of Ukraine are, frankly speaking, boring and uninteresting.โ€

 

Putin won a fifth term in office in March, claiming 87.28% of the vote amid a record turnout of over 77%.

 

Zelensky argued that anybody who knows how to read laws can swiftly confirm that his continued stay in power is legal. โ€œThe Ukrainians know their Constitution, they know the law,โ€ he added.

 

Russiaโ€™s PresidentVladimir Putin said last month that attempts by the US and its allies to isolate Russia have failed, and pledged to โ€œexpand pragmatic, equal, mutually beneficial, partnership relations with friendly countries in Eurasia, Africa and Latin America.โ€

 

According to the president, unlike the European elites, โ€œwho arenโ€™t pursuing policies that are beneficial for their peoples,โ€ there are many citizens on the continent who support Russiaโ€™s stance.

Chinese Nationals Breached US Military Bases and Sensitive US Sites Over 100 Times in Recent Years

 

The FBI and Department of Defense have documented over 100 incidents of Chinese nationals posing as tourists to gain unauthorized access to U.S. military bases and other federal sites.

Although there is no evidence the layoffs are directly linked to Elon Musk or the ongoing investigations, one can safely assume that they have not helped the organizationโ€™s financial position.

 

Last November, Musk filed a defamation lawsuit against MMFA in federal court in November, accusing them of manipulating images to show advertisements from major corporations alongside posts from white supremacists and neo-Nazis.

 

Meanwhile, the Missouri Attorney General filed a separate lawsuit last December for engaging in fraudulent business practices and refusing to cooperate with an ongoing investigation.

โ€œThe Americans have told the Russians that if you explode a nuke, even if it doesnโ€™t kill anybody, we will hit all your targets [positions] in Ukraine with conventional weapons, weโ€™ll destroy all of them,โ€ he claimed, describing the presumed warning as a โ€œcredible threat.โ€ The Polish diplomat alleged that China and India have also warned Russia against a nuclear escalation.

 

The minister also suggested that Ukraineโ€™s Western backers should allow Kiev to use their weapons to strike military targets on Russian territory as โ€œapart from not using nuclear weapons, [Moscow] does not limit itself much.โ€

While the US and its allies have on several occasions accused Moscow of nuclear saber-rattling, President Vladimir Putin insisted in March that at no point during the Ukraine conflict has Russia considered using such weapons. Russian jamming rendering much US-supplied weaponry ineffective โ€“ WaPo

 

Kiev has had to stop using some American arms due to Moscowโ€™s electronic warfare capabilities, Ukrainian officials have said

Many US-made munitions that rely on satellite guidance have failed to withstand Russiaโ€™s jamming technology after being supplied to Kiev, the Washington Post reported on Friday.

The Ukrainian armed forces have had to stop using some of those armaments altogether because of Russiaโ€™s extensive electronic warfare capabilities, the paper said.

 

The affected munitions includeExcalibur GPS-guided artillery shells, rockets for HIMARS multiple rocket launch systems and JDAM aircraft-dropped bombs, the report read.

 

The US completely ceased deliveries of Excalibur shells half a year ago after Ukraine reported that they had been rendered ineffective, unnamed Ukrainian officials told WaPo.

 

The paper said that it had also reviewed an internal assessment by Kiev, according to which the success rate of the munitions fell to just 10% within several months. โ€œThe Excalibur technology in existing versions has lost its potential,โ€ the document read, adding that the encounter with Russian jamming has disproved its reputation as a โ€œone shot, one targetโ€ weapon.

 

The HIMARS system used to make headlines after being provided to Kiev in 2022, butthe next year โ€œeverything ended: the Russians deployed electronic warfare, disabled satellite signals, and HIMARS became completely ineffective,โ€ a senior Ukrainian military official complained. Because of this, Kiev had to resort to deploying the โ€œvery expensive shellโ€ against lower-priority targets, he said.

 

The success rate of JDAMs also dropped significantly just weeks after they were first provided to Kiev in February 2023 astheir โ€œnon-resistanceโ€ to jamming was revealed, the Ukrainian assessment stressed. During that period, theUS-made bombs were missing their targets by between 200 meters and 1.2km=, it said.

 

The Ukrainian officials told WaPo that getting the needed adjustments to the โ€œfailing weaponryโ€ has been difficult due to โ€œan overly bureaucratic processโ€ in Washington. However, in the case of JDAMs, the manufacturer was able to provide a patch and the munitions are still being used by Kiev, according to the sources.

 

On Saturday,Russiaโ€™s President Vladimir Putin saidthat since the start of the conflict between Moscow and Kiev in February 2022, theproduction of electronic warfare equipment has increased 15-fold in the country.

Once inside the theater, the suspect stabbed four females between the ages of 9 and 17-years-old, police said, adding that the attack appeared to be unprovoked and without warning. The four girls sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Boston hospitals for treatment, poilce said.

NATO Country Says Goal Should Be Breakup Of The Russian Federation

 

Last week, Russian media took note of the latest provocative statements by Estoniaโ€™s Prime Minister Kaja Kallas. She has led Russia's tiny Baltic neighbor into a firm hawkish anti-Moscow position. The country was part of the wave of eastern European nations to join NATO in the mid-2000s during the Bush era.

 

She's calling for the breakup of the Russian Federation. Kallas proposed during a debate in the country's capital of Tallinn last week that Russia could become much "smaller" as a desired outcome of the Ukraine war.

 

"Russiaโ€™s defeat is not a bad thing because then you know there could really be a change in society," the prime minister told the 17th Lennart Meri Conference, as translated in Russia's RT.

 

She said that currently the Russian Federation can actually be seen as making up "many different nations" and that they could be naturally broken into separate states.

 

"I think if you would have more like small nationsโ€ฆ it is not a bad thing if the big power is actually [made] much smaller," Kallas asserted.

 

Despite its small size Estonia has been outspoken over the last several months related to the war. For example it recently appeared to back French President Macron's call for NATO to consider sending Western troops to Ukraine:

5-Hour GARVIS โ€˜Glitchโ€™ Hits Georgia on Election Day

 

Georgia's new cloud-based voter registration system malfunctioned for five hours on Election Day.

 

The Georgia Registered Voter Information System (GARVIS) was believed to be an updated measure to combat cyber-attacks. However, the recently deployed system had a statewide breakdown on Election Day yesterday.

According to a press release by VoterGA, an NGO geared towards securing elections, from 11 am to 4 pm, the Salesforce cloud-based system that allows third-party vendors to manage Georgian voter data suffered a critical outage, making the stateโ€™s โ€œMy Voter Pageโ€ inaccessible for those seeking to locate their precincts and other information. It also prevented county election offices from verifying absentee ballots and updating receipts of mail-in ballots, which prevents double voting.

 

VoterGA reported that the failure ultimately did not affect most voters since voter lists are downloaded to each poll pad for Election Day voter verification. Still, several counties utilized poll books with vulnerable remote GARVIS access.

 

The GARVIS initiative completed its development on January 19, 2022. The launch was initially delayed a year until March 2023. The Secretary of Stateโ€™s office said the trial run was โ€œsuccessfulโ€ in the November 2023 municipal election. However, it had over 3,500 open support tickets just that year and freezing defect corrections for another month. This yearโ€™s primaries were the first opportunity for the system to be implemented statewide.

 

The press release indicated that the Secretary of Stateโ€™s office tried to blame the problem on lack of funding, but the new system had never properly functioned since its implementation. VoterGA claimed election directors and board members had criticized GARVIS, wanting to return to the secured Enet system.

 

VoterGA additionally stated that Salesforce faced a class action lawsuit before signing the contract with Georgia. The platform became infected with malware that seized the Personal Identifying Information (PII) of nearly 20,000 customers, which was later sold on the โ€œdark web.โ€ The release stated that Salesforce never took the opportunity to alert its clients and customers of the breach.

 

To add to the debacle of such implementation, the GARVIS implementer, Texas-based MTX, had no election system experience, poor performance on a Texas no-bid contract and only a mere three American employees when signing the contract with the state of Georgia. VoterGA noted that the company outsourced its programming staff to India, where citizens are not sworn to uphold the US Constitution.

SpaceX has yet to provide an update on the explosion, which took place at its Boca Chica Starbase facilities in southern Texas. The footage shows SpaceXโ€™s engine test pad going up in flame.

 

The footage started a little after 4:12 pm local time. Roughly 14 seconds after ignition, the Raptor engine shut off. As the vapor surrounding the test tower dissipated, a fire appeared to start underneath the engine. These flames traveled upwards, causing a second explosion to engulf the entire tower.

 

In a tweet accompanying a clip from the footage, NASASpaceflight wrote, โ€œThe raptor testing stand at McGregor experienced an anomaly a few moments ago. The vapors from the anomaly caused a secondary explosion on the test stand.โ€

Unknown Force Purportedly Torches Secret Raytheon-DARPA Warehouse in Tucson

 

An unknown force purportedly demolished a joint Raytheon-DARPA clandestine weapons plant at Raytheonโ€™s campus in Tucson, Arizona, Wednesday night, according to a U.S. Army Cyber Command specialists who intercepted a telephone conversation between an unidentified party at the location and Assistant Secretary of Defense for Sustainment Christopher Lowman, a Biden disciple.

 

On the call, which took place at 6:00 a.m. Thursday, the unidentified Raytheon employee, speaking frenetically, informed Lowman that intruders had defeated security, slain six security guards, and destroyed invaluable, irreplaceable hardware stored in a Raytheon-DARPA warehouse in southeast Tucson.

 

He told Lowman the damage was โ€œcatastrophicโ€ and that he had already informed Raytheon CEO Gregory Hayes and DARPA Director Stefanie Tompkins of the attack.

 

In what might have been an injudicious slip of the tongue, Lowman asked whether data on the โ€œcamouflaged unmanned aerial assault programโ€ had been stolen from the warehouse.

 

The Raytheon employee said time would tell and disconnected the call.

 

Sources at ARCYBER and Gen. Smithโ€™s office told Real Raw News the incursion was not a White Hat operation, nor had they any knowledge of a secret weapons program taking place at the Tucson warehouse prior to hearing the call.

 

โ€œAt this point, we havenโ€™t independently verified the event happened. All we have is the phone call, and we know the warehouse is intact,โ€ our source said.

U.S., Western allies meet at annual G7 summit, agree to more economic levers to stop Russia, China

 

The centerpiece agreement is aimed at securing funding for Ukraine well beyond this year

 

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and other top economy officials from the worldโ€™s richest countries agree Saturday in Italy to to seize Russian assets to back Ukraine and to start pressuring China to cut subsidies that give its companies an unfair advantage against western allies.

 

The centerpiece agreement from the ministers of the Group of Seven nations โ€“ an informal bloc of industrialized and democratic countries that includes all of Ukraineโ€™s key Western allies โ€“ is to secure funding for Ukraine well beyond this year, in which the United States and the European Union have elections that could change geopolitical priorities for both.

 

The ministers from the G-7 met for three days in the lakeside Italian town of Stresa. The entire list of G7 members is the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom. The European Union is also part of the group but is considered a "non-enumerated member."

 

The plan on Russian assets was first floated by U.S. officials in the lead-up to the talks and was originally opposed by G-7 members France, Italy, and Germany (the member states that use the euro currency). But in Stresa, one by one other G-7 ministers endorsed it.

 

The plan would issue Ukraine a loan worth roughly $50 billion to be paid off by about $190 billion in seized assets from Russiaโ€™s Central Bank currently held by the Europe-based central securities depository Euroclear. The assets, which do not include any funds owned by private Russian citizens, could be used to repay additional loans going forward.

 

The details on how the loan will be structured are expected to be finalized at next monthโ€™s G-7 head of state summit, also in Italy, which holds the G7 presidency this year.

 

Ukraine is not a member of the G-7, but Serhiy Marchenko, the countryโ€™s finance minister, attended the talks as an observer. And though he supported the idea, he said it would only be a โ€œtemporary solution.โ€

 

Marchenko said the Russian assets should be confiscated and given to Ukraine.

UKRAINE RECEIVED AIR-LAUNCHED GBU-39 SMALL DIAMETER BOMBS FROM U.S. IN SECRET โ€“ REPORTS

 

The air-launched version of the Small Diameter Bomb (SDB), the GBU-39, has been secretly supplied by the United States to Ukraine.

 

The delivery was first revealed by The Washington Post on May 24. Later on the same day, a U.S. official first confirmed to The War Zone that Kiev forces had already used the bomb in combat. On May 25, a photo showing at least two bombs of this type loaded onto a MiG-29 fighter jet of the Ukrainian Air Force surfaced online, further confirming the delivery.

 

The 129-kilogram GBU-39 is guided by a GPS-aided inertial navigation system and has a range of around 111 kilometers when launched from air.

 

The U.S. didnโ€™t publicly announce the plans to deliver the air-launched version of the GBU-39 to Ukraine. However, it revealed the delivery of the Ground-Launched SDB, known as the GLSDB, earlier this year.

 

The GLSDB combines the GBU-39 SDB with the M26 227 mm rocket motor. It has a range of up to 150 kilometers. To speed up the delivery to Ukraine, the U.S. reportedly developed special launchers for the munitions, which are not yet compatible with the M270 MLRS and the M142 HIMARS systems already supplied to Kiev forces.

 

The GLSDB failed in Ukraine in the face of Russian electronic warfare means, according to The Washington Postโ€™s report and another published by Reuters on the same day, May 24. However, the air-launched version had more success.

 

โ€œOne U.S. weapon used by aircraft, the GBU-39 Small Diameter Bomb, has proved resilient to jamming,โ€ The Washington Post said in its report citing confidential internal Ukrainian assessments. The same article notes that โ€œnearly 90 percent of dropped [Small Diameter Bombs] struck their target.โ€

 

No details are provided about the numbers of air-launched SDBs provided to Ukraine and which warplanes are dropping them, but the report states that they began to be delivered to Ukraine in November of last year.

 

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the first interception of an SDB-type bomb last March. In later months, the remains of several munitions of this type were found in remote areas in the special military operation after they were apparently jammed by Russian electronic warfare means.

 

The Washington Postโ€™s claims about the air-launched SDB being more resilient to Russian electronic warfare does not make much sense as this version uses the exact same guidance system installed in the ground-launched version.

 

Here it is important to note that the newspaper was citing official Ukrainian assessments, which may have been manipulated then leaked to justify the supply of the air-launched version of the bomb after the failure of the ground-launched one.

 

The fact that Kiev forces have been using the air-launched SDB at least since last November and it made no difference whatsoever in the battlefield indicates that it has indeed failed, just like the GLSDB.

Reservist soldiers are behind you and we want to win," the soldier said, speaking from what appears to be a ruined building in Gaza.

 

"We have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, you have 100,000 reservist soldiers that are ready to give their lives for the people of Israel. Ready to die. We lost everything, we lost our family life, we lost our livelihoods and we have nowhere to go. We will stay here, until the end. Until the victory," the reservist soldier states.

 

"Yoav Gallant, you can't win the war. Quit. You can't win this war. You can't command us," the reservist says.

 

The soldier vowed to refuse Gallant's orders and asserted that soldiers will only listen to Netanyahu. He threatened that the 100,000 reservist soldiers would station themselves at the border and not move, and call on citizens of Israel to join them there if the government steps back from the goal of completely eliminating Hamas.

 

"Think really well who you leave the keys to after this. We want victory. Our brothers and sisters did not die for nothing, weren't raped for nothing, and were not slaughtered in their beds for nothing," he said, referring to the IDF casualties in Gaza and the atrocities of Hamas's October 7 massacre.

The SNP has been slated after it was revealed Ministers rubber-stamped plans to cut down almost 16 million trees to build wind farms on public land. The revelation came despite the nationalist party boasting about its green credentials, and being involved in a coalition with the Scottish Greens.

 

Mairi Gougeon, the Scottish Government's Rural Affairs Secretary, admitted that they had felled millions of trees in order to build more turbines. It forms part of the SNP administration's plans to make Scotland net zero over the next decade.

 

But this confession was labelled "astonishing" by the Scottish Tories who highlighted the "significant damage" that getting rid of woodland can do to the wildlife. It was estimated that 15.7 million trees had been felled since 2000.

 

This was done on publicly-owned land which is managed by quango Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) and is the equivalent of 1,700 per day. According to the Daily Telegraph, Ms Gougeon insisted that there was a planning presumption in favour of protecting woodland, despite the amount being chopped down.

F-35 Sustainment Challenges for the U.S. Taxpayer

 

What is good for defense contractors is not necessarily good for the military, nor the taxpayer, they are supposed to serve. Consider the F-35 program, which was supposed to deliver a jet that would make all other military jets obsolete. It has yet to do so, and the failures of the program sustainability speak to the idea that we need diversity in our procurement.

 

For one thing, too many F-35 sit idle. At a recent congressional hearing, Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall claimed that โ€œ55% is the number we have for operational availabilityโ€ of F-35s. That percentage sounds low; imagine if your car would get you to work only 55% of the time. You would be looking for another option!

 

But things are even worse than that for the F-35 program. Under further questioning, Kendall and his team admitted that fewer than a third of F-35s are โ€œfully operational.โ€ That tracks with a report from the Project on Government Oversight, which reported this year: โ€œThe Pentagonโ€™s top testing office, the Director, Operational Test & Evaluation (DOT&E), recently released its officeโ€™s annual report, which showed that the F-35 program has a fleet-wide full mission capable rate of only 30%.โ€

Under criticism that the F-35 has become a โ€œpaperweight,โ€ Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin responded at another congressional hearing that he disagreed with the characterization and โ€œin the future we should take [and] we should have a different approachโ€ to โ€œget our aircraft operational.โ€ That would seem like the least we, as taxpayers and citizens, should expect.
