BREAKING: The 9th Circuit Court has just ruled against Democrats and in favor of a new state law that requires election officials to REJECT voter registrations that don't come with proof of citizenship

 

The lower courts froze the law but the appeals court just reinstated it, "The district court’s May 2, 2024 judgment is therefore stayed to the extent that it bars enforcement of A.R.S. § 16-121.01(C)."

 

This is a MASSIVE decision for election integrity. I believe people like @elonmusk

have brought many eyeballs to this big issue and the courts are responding appropriately

Here's what we know about CrowdStrike, the company potentially to blame for a global tech outage

 

A technical issue, related to a US-based cybersecurity firm named CrowdStrike, caused computers running Microsoft software across Australia and abroad to glitch on Friday.

 

The global outage impacted a raft of Australian companies and government agencies, causing many computers to attempt to restart and display a blue-screen error message.

 

Here's what we know so far.

 

What is CrowdStrike?

CrowdStrike is a US-based American cybersecurity firm that helps companies manage their security in "IT environments" — that is, everything they use an internet connection to access.

 

Its primary function is to protect companies and stop data breaches, ransomware and cyber attacks.

 

It includes among its main customers global investment banks, universities and even the Australian betting agency TAB Corp.

 

The cybersecurity environment has changed rapidly in recent years due to the increased presence of threat actors targeting big business, including Ticketmaster, Medibank and Optus.

 

As a result, more and more companies are turning towards firms like CrowdStrike to protect their customers' information.

 

What is CrowdStrike used for?

One of the company's main products is CrowdStrike Falcon, which is described on its website as "providing real-time indicators of attack, hyper-accurate detection and automated protection" from possible cyber security threats.

 

CrowdStrike Falcon is used by thousands of companies across the world to protect data, and a crash of their server on Friday is believed to be the cause of a global outage of Microsoft products.

 

Earlier this week, CrowdStrike announced an update of its Falcon product, saying it would provide "unprecedented speed and precision" to detect security breaches.

 

In a statement posted to its website following the outage, a CrowdStrike spokesperson said it was likely an issue with the Falcon product that caused the incident.

 

Who owns Crowdstrike?

The company was founded by former McAfee employee George Kurtz in 2012.

 

Its ownership structure is a mix of individual investors, institutions and retail.

 

The investor with the largest share is The Vanguard Group, a US investment fund, with about 6.79 per cent of the company.

 

The question of who owns CrowdStrike was part of a discredited conspiracy theory after the company investigated Russia's role in the 2016 US elections.

 

Former US president Donald Trump made reference to the conspiracy theory in a call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in 2019.

 

"I would like to find out what happened with this whole situation with Ukraine, they say CrowdStrike. I guess you have one of your wealthy people," he said.

 

"The server, they say Ukraine has it … you or your people, and I would like you to get to the bottom of it."

If you need proof that security is a red hot market these days, how about this morning’s announcement that cybersecurity company CrowdStrike landed a $100 million Series C investment round?

 

The round was led by Google Capital with Rackspace, which happens to be one of the company’s customers also investing. Existing investors Accel and Warburg Pincus also participated. Today’s investment brings the total to-date to $156 million.

 

Business Insider broke the story as a rumor on Friday night. We have additional details.

 

CrowdStrike describes its Falcon cloud platform as “end point protection” delivered as Software as a Service. Traditionally this type of protection has been delivered by companies like FireEye and Cisco as a hardware solution that sits on your network and is designed to protect organizations from attacks.

 

That worked fine when there was a well defined end point, but in a mobile and cloud world, the lines between inside and outside have become blurred. Employees aren’t sitting at their desks on computers under the control of the company. They are increasingly moving through the world with mobile devices, and as such, the notion of security has changed — and security companies are adjusting.

 

In fact, most security products today are designed to protect customers from malware, exploits, malicious websites and unpatched vulnerabilities. CrowdStrike claims to differentiate itself from the pack by offering protection even when the attack isn’t delivered by malware, according to a CrowdStrike spokesperson.

 

"Recall that the FBI was denied access to the DNC servers by the DNC itself, and simply agreed to rely on the results provided by crowdstrike, which as you can see has ties to all sorts of anti-Russia organizations and individuals. I find it absolutely remarkable that James Comey head of the FBI outsourced his job to crowdstrike.

"A Texas-based investment company has denied trying to short twelve million shares of Trump Media & Technology Group just before the failed assassination attempt on the US presidential candidate, claiming it was a clerical error.

 

Short selling involves borrowing a security whose price the borrower thinks is going to fall and then selling it on the open market. One then buys the same stock back later, hopefully for a lower price than it was initially sold for, returns the borrowed stock to the broker, and pockets the difference.

 

Trump was speaking at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday when an assassin fired several shots at his head, nicking his ear, killing one audience member and injuring two more.

 

The day before, a company called Austin Private Wealth LLC made a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for a put option on 12 million shares of $DJT. To outside observers, this looked like a bet that the company’s value would go down drastically – as it would if Trump had been killed.

 

One sleuth on X (formerly Twitter) even got screenshots from a Bloomberg terminal showing the company’s put option, which then disappeared later in the day.

 

Others pointed out that Austin had major holdings in Vanguard and BlackRock funds, claiming that they had links with George Soros and the Rothschild family as well.

 

The apparent BlackRock connection fueled suspicions further, as the alleged shooter had once appeared in a commercial for the investment behemoth. BlackRock yanked the ad after the attempted assassination, which they denounced as “abhorrent” and “awful.”

 

On Wednesday, APW posted a statement on the front page of their website, seeking to dismiss the rumors.

 

“The SEC filing which showed that Austin Private Wealth shorted a large number of shares of Trump Media & Technology Group Corp (DJT) was incorrect and we immediately amended it as soon as we learned of the error,” the company said.

 

APW holds 12 contracts, or 1,200 shares, not twelve million “as was filed in error,” the statement said, blaming a “third party vendor” for multiplying all options contracts by 10,000. The report was filed on July 12 to reflect the company’s June 28 position, but was amended on July 16, when APW became aware of the problem.

 

“We deeply regret this error and the concern it has caused, especially at such a fraught moment for our nation,” the company said, adding that it is “reviewing our internal procedures” to understand how it happened.

 

Anyone who shorted the DJT stock came to regret it. On the first day of trading after the Butler shooting, its price jumped from $31.25 to $46.17 a share, before stabilizing at just above $37. "

'The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) finally admitted that it "failed in its mission to protect the residents" and that the soldiers "were not prepared for the extensive infiltration scenario" by Hamas so they killed Israeli hostages in Kibbutz Be'eri on Oct. 7.

 

An internal investigation eventually revealed that the IDF fired a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) into a home where captives were held, shelling the house repeatedly with a tank and then unloading on the people inside with a hail of bullets. One of three hostage face-offs between Hamas and the IDF happened at Be'eri resident Pessi Cohen's house, where six civilians were held outside his home, while another nine were held inside the house.

 

According to reports, at 3:08 p.m. a first phone call was made to police regarding hostages but the report was forwarded to troops as a hostage situation at Be'eri's dining hall and not at Cohen's home. Meanwhile, before knowing that hostages were held in the house, members of the police's elite Yamam unit fired a shoulder-launched missile towards the residence after coming under a machine gun and RPG fire from it.

 

At 5:00 p.m. one of the eight terrorists inside Cohen's home surrendered to Israeli forces, using one of the survivors, Yasmin Porat, as a human shield as he exited the house. This saved her life.

 

After this, IDF Brig. Gen. Barak Hiram, though not in "ground zero," approved firing light tank shells near and at the building to pressure the terrorists inside to surrender. At 5:33 p.m., Yamam and Shin Bet commanders ordered Hazan's tank to fire the first light tank shell near the building. The first shell struck the pathway leading to the home.

 

Soon after, Hiram arrived at Cohen's home and ordered the commander to finish within 40 minutes as the sun was already setting. After about 20 minutes, Hiram left to handle other incidents in Be'eri.

 

At 6:26 p.m., Hamas commanders called their people at Cohen's home to tell them to run away. A minute later, a second light tank shell was launched at the pathway. A few minutes later, a third shell was launched, which according to the probe, bounced off the ground. A shrapnel killed hostage Adi Dagan, 68, and injured his wife, Hadas Dagan, 70. A fourth shell was launched at 6:57 p.m., which targeted the roof.

 

At 7:57 p.m., a long burst of gunfire was heard by the forces. After a period of silence and not hearing from the hostages, the special forces decided to enter the home, engaging in a gun battle with the remaining terrorists inside. Only one of the hostages survived the exchange of fire. The causes of death of the 13 other hostages have not been definitively identified, though many were apparently killed by gunfire.

 

A Times of Israel article reported that the probe indicated that the decision to approve tank shelling was done "with professionalism" and that Hiram made "responsible decisions."

 

The investigation also said that since the IDF had been trained for "single intrusions" only, there were no troops that could be sent to Be’eri amid the widescale attack. During that time, the army had difficulty in building a clear picture of what was happening in Be'eri until the afternoon hours.

 

In all, 101 civilians and 31 security personnel were killed in Be'eri and 30 residents and two civilians were taken hostage by Hamas, 11 of whom remain in Gaza. At least 125 homes in the community were damaged and destroyed amid the fighting.

 

Responding to the inquiry, IDF's Chief of the General Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi said it "clearly illustrates the magnitude of the failure and the scale of the disaster that befell the residents of the south who defended their families with their bodies for many hours while the IDF was not there to protect them."

 

As troops were not prepared for the attack, there had been "no additional reserve forces in the area" to send to Be'eri. Instead, residents were left to defend themselves for hours.

 

"We appreciate the army taking responsibility and acknowledging its catastrophic failure to protect us," the kibbutz Be’eri said in a statement in response to the IDF's report. "While the investigation is a step toward answers, critical questions remain unanswered such as why the army forces at the kibbutz’s entrance didn’t enter the kibbutz despite our desperate pleas for rescue."

 

Survivors of the attack on Be'eri described hiding in their homes for hours desperately trying to reach loved ones.

 

"They left us to die," Be'eri resident Liel Fishbien told NBC News of Israeli forces shortly after the attack.

 

More than nine months later, he said that while he appreciated the inquiry's findings, "I know they failed. It's not new to me that they failed. Taking responsibility's important, of course, but I care more about what they've learned to make this thing not happen again," he said.'

Interesting post, Anon. It seems to me that nobody can really be trusted at this time, as far as providing incriminating information to expose our enemies for the enemies that they are.

I hope that people with important information will just find a way to get it into courts of law, and then share whatever documents they file with the entire public (since most things filed in court are open to the public).

Seems to me we are in such dangerous times that the best way to get action, and for reporting parties to stay safe, is to just file evidence in connection with court case(s), share it with the general public through the channels that good guys created for us (e.g., TruthSocial, Twitter, Rumble, etc.), and put it all out there, on blast, so that the entire world can see whatever info people are sharing.

I would never allow any individual, such as Tom Fitton or Chri Farrell, to be the gatekeeper of information.

When Sen. J.D. Vance accepted the GOP vice presidential nomination in Milwaukee on Wednesday, it was a long way from an Ohio stage where he stood two years ago to defend his change of heart about Donald Trump.

 

But his explanation at that March 2022 debate for why he’d gone from opposing Trump to being an outspoken supporter is serving him now as a perfect rejoinder to critics unhappy with Trump’s selection.

 

And his words are something that should be heard by every Republican who thinks Vance isn’t loyal enough, every Republican who opposed Trump before his presidency — and even the NeverTrumpers who oppose him now.

 

The question arose during a March 2022 primary debate, where Vance stood with four rivals for the GOP Senate nomination.

 

In the context of the candidates seeking Trump’s endorsement in the race, a moderator asked Vance to square his position supporting Trump with scathing comments Vance had made about Trump six and seven years earlier.

 

Vance’s response boiled down to: “I was wrong.”

 

“I’ve been very public about the fact that I voted for the president in 2020, that I was wrong about the president back in 2015-2016, and that he’s been the greatest president of my lifetime, for the very simple reason — there are many, but one very important reason — is that he revealed the corruption in Washington, D.C.”

Vance cited other reasons for his change of view — his personal life has changed with his baptism into the Catholic church, and he and his wife have had three children.

 

And he’s simply older now, presumably wiser, and has had the experience — along with the rest of the country — of seeing what Donald Trump can do in the White House — and the extent his enemies would go to stop him.

 

And those are solid reasons for anyone who wasn’t a Trump supporter during the 2016 primary race to have supported him in 2020 — and to support him now.

 

There’s a reason even liberal polls (like one by The New York Times, of all places) show Americans remember the Trump years fondly. Discounting the COVID pandemic and the George Floyd riots, it was a time of peace and prosperity.

 

The economy was roaring, unemployment was low, and the now-war ravaged Middle East was seeing glimmering signs of real peace with the Trump-brokered Abraham Accords.

 

It’s also worth noting that neither COVID nor the death of a drug-addicted Minneapolis counterfeiting suspect were Trump’s responsibility, but Democrats and radical leftists used both shamelessly as weapons against both Trump and the American people.

 

The machinations of the deep state were revealed in the form of now-former FBI Director James Comey’s blatant partisanship in attacking Trump (along with retired Army Gen. Michael Flynn, Trump’s first national security advisor and a host of others in Trump’s orbit).

 

The first Trump impeachment was on a charge so ludicrous it’s barely remembered (hint: It had a lot to do with Trump’s interest in — and Democrats covering for — the criminal lifestyle of Hunter Biden, Joe Biden’s abuse of power as vice president, and the corruption-ridden country of Ukraine).

 

Its main impact was that it showed the country how petty Trump’s political opponents are, and how relentless.

 

The mainstream media also disgraced itself to an almost unimaginable degree chasing fraudulent Pulitzer Prizes for reporting on the “Russia collusion” hoax, and endlessly hyperventilating about the “walls closing in” on Trump. (It’s an energy Washington reporters haven’t shown when it comes to covering the Biden administration, oddly enough.)

 

All of that — and there was plenty more — was visible to anyone who cared to look, and J.D. Vance apparently cared to look.

 

He sought and won Trump’s endorsement in the 2022 GOP Senate primary in Ohio, which likely propelled him to his narrow victory.

 

Now, he’s Trump’s official running mate in Trump’s effort to return to the White House. Trump opponents — Republicans and otherwise — could learn something from Vance’s words in 2022.

 

Trump supporters — who might think Vance is not loyal enough — could learn something, too.

 

Experience is the best teacher. And in this case, the lessons are clear.

last week when Nvidia did an upgrade to their Linux drivers the computer no longer booted. It was like this and I understand that the issues when such things happen can be a bunch of things.

fortunately I was able to still log in and X still ran, but Wayland did not.

Wayland is the replacement for X.

so I would log in to run level 3 by changing the boot line and then I could run x by running startx from a command prompt.

Windows has no such method.

and even after a week, and discovering that I could run a different boot loader (the problem was with the mouse stalling, the input stalling) I could change to a different windowing manager (from GDM to a different one, and then I could get the log in screen and not have to go into grub everytime I rebooted my machine.

but the issue was specifically because the Nvidia driver screwed up something.

and they have not updated it since.

from time to time I'd try to reboot into Wayland, and though everything would load, and the windows were all there, the mouse wouldn't stall and the system was unusable.

 

That's my story about my machine and how I fixed it.

I am sure that there were a lot of linux users who aren't as advanced as I and were left stranded.

 

So maybe this 'global outage' is also something to do with some bug that has been inserted into some simple driver.

I feel like there is a lot of misunderstanding on what's going on with Crowdstrike.

As I understand it - a patch was pushed onto the systems that use it with a bad .sys file or something. Once this sys file is removed, everything is fine. It's not an attack (persay).

The problem comes into play when a system needs to update to be fixed but cant. A lot of these employees do not have administrator access to be able to safeboot and remove the .sys file. Thus each computer needs to be reset manually.
