The Democrats should lose the Midterms based on their behavior at last night’s Joint Address to Congress. All Republicans must use their behavior on men in women’s sports, their very dangerous Open Border policy, High Energy and Taxes, and much else. Also, Republicans should utilize the footage provided on the total disrespect they showed to all of those that were honored that night, including young ladies who were killed by illegal migrants, people with terminal cancer, etc. They didn’t even have the common courtesy to stand, smile, or applaud. Kamala Harris and Biden’s EPA chief Michael Regan gave $7 billion total to the suddenly created Climate United Fund in April 2024 after it launched just five months earlier in November 30, 2022 when Its tax returns show it started with a tiny $547K in revs.

 

But it spent a massive $451K of that $547k in just two months in 2023, a quarter of that on legal fees and the majority $323K mysteriously blown on no one knows what because its tax returns don’t say.

 

It has no stipulated plans for how it will spend your $7B in tax $$, just ephemeral solar projects in Idaho, Arkansas, and Oregon that amount to only about $50M total, a fraction of the $7B. It also gave money out of that $7b to Power Forward Communities linked to Stacey Abrams.

Lithuanian publishing house Sofoklis has taken US Vice President J.D. Vance’s book ‘Hillbilly Elegy’ off the shelves in response to reports that Washington has halted military aid to Kiev. The White House has not directly confirmed the reports to date.

 

US President Donald Trump made the decision after his public altercation with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky in Washington last week. Speaking to the press afterward, Trump accused Zelensky of not wanting peace and trying to drag Washington into supporting the conflict long-term.

 

When asked about the pause of US aid to Ukraine, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz told Fox News on Wednesday that the president would consider reversing it “if we can nail down these [peace] negotiations.”

 

The publisher made its own announcement in a Facebook post on Tuesday: “After the US presidential administration suspended aid to Ukraine, the publishing house Sofoklis withdrew J.D. Vance's book ‘Hillbilly Elegy’ from sale until the US foreign policy towards Ukraine changes.”

 

Sofoklis suggested customers read books by Ukrainian authors and donate to Kiev instead.

 

Zelensky has called called his Oval office debacle “regrettable,” although he has not apologized over the spat. The Ukrainian leader has also offered to sign a minerals deal with the US cancelled after the Oval office shouting match.

 

Trump has touted the deal as a way for the US to “get back” the money it has spent on funding Kiev since the escalation of the conflict in 2022.

James Scott Rhys Anderson has been found guilty of terrorism against civilians in Kursk Region, officials have said

 

A Russian court has sentenced a British mercenary to 19 years in prison for fighting for Ukraine and committing a “terrorist act” in Kursk Region.

 

In a statement on Wednesday, Russia’s Investigative Committee said that British citizen James Scott Rhys Anderson, 22, “took direct part in the armed conflict on the territory of the Russian Federation for material compensation.”

 

Anderson invaded Russia’s territory together with Ukrainian forces last November and “committed crimes against the civilian population” in Kursk Region, the committee said. Officials have not provided any further details on the specifics of the charges.

 

Anderson is expected to serve his first five years in prison and the remainder in a maximum-security penal colony.

 

He previously claimed that Ukrainian commanders had forced him to enter Russia, adding that they had taken away his identification papers and cell phone. He also stated that he had served in the UK military as a signals operator between 2019 and 2023 before deciding to join Kiev’s foreign legion. According to Anderson, once he arrived in the country, he was mainly involved in training local military personnel.

 

The UK Foreign Office has vowed to provide all the necessary support to Anderson but has not commented on the specifics of the charges or the trial proceedings.

 

Russian authorities have consistently prosecuted foreign mercenaries fighting for Ukraine, warning that any troops supporting Kiev would be considered “legitimate targets.”

 

In January, a Russian court sentenced retired US Army Ranger Patrick Creed to 13 years in prison for serving with Ukraine’s armed forces between 2022 and 2023.

Two suicide bombers detonated themselves at the facility as the assault began

 

An assault on a military base in northwestern Pakistan on Tuesday evening has left at least 18 people dead and 42 injured, the AP has reported. The militant group Jaish Al-Fursan, affiliated with the Pakistani Taliban (TTP), has claimed responsibility for the attack, according to the outlet.

 

The attack in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province began when two suicide bombers detonated explosive-laden vehicles against the base’s perimeter wall, creating a breach that allowed additional militants to storm the compound. A fierce gunfight ensued, during which security forces repelled the intruders. The military reported that five soldiers and 16 insurgents were killed in the confrontation.

 

The explosions occurred shortly after sunset, coinciding with the time when many residents were breaking their fast during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. The powerful blasts caused significant damage to nearby structures, including a mosque, where the collapsing roof trapped worshippers inside. Rescue workers recovered the body of the building’s imam from the rubble.

 

Local hospitals have been overwhelmed with casualties. Bannu District Hospital reported receiving 42 victims, including 12 fatalities, including at least four children. The hospital spokesperson noted that the majority of the casualties were civilians affected by collapsing buildings and walls.

Pakistan has experienced a surge in militant attacks over the past few months, with several incidents occurring in the region, according to reports. Last year, a foiled attack on the Iqbal Shaheed Police Lines resulted in the death of four police officials and five militants, who were wearing burqas and suicide vests.

On Saturday, Judge Jackson ordered Hampton Dellinger’s removal was unlawful and entered a judgement declaring his firing illegal.

 

DOJ counsel argued that President Trump, under Article II, can fire subordinates for no reason.

 

DOJ lawyers rightly argued that Judge Jackson has ZERO authority to reinstate Dellinger. The DOJ argued Judge Jackson’s order reinstating Dellinger infringes on a President’s power.

 

Judge Jackson remained defiant on Saturday and claimed Article II did not provide the executive to fire Dellinger, Margot Cleveland, senior legal correspondent for The Federalist, said.

“Hopefully, Kennedy will have a critical review,” Redfield said.

 

“Let’s just have an objective review by the FDA,” he added.

Redfield argues that pharmaceutical companies should be compelled to hand over safety data if they expect to enjoy immunity.

"Dunham’s boss at USAID in Indonesia, Dr. Donald Gordon Jr., author of Credit for Small Farmers in Developing Countries for USAID (1976), was identified in Julius Mader’s 1968 book, Who Who’s in the CIA, as a CIA agent.9

Another boss, Peter Geithner, was future Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner’s father.

Ann obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in anthropology at the University of Hawaii, writing a thesis which argued that Indonesian villagers were dynamic and could produce greater wealth if they had access to market incentives and capital.

Ann went to Indonesia in the mid 1960s at the time that the CIA supported a military coup led by General Suharto against the left-wing regime of Sukarno.

Over two million suspected members of the Indonesian Communist Party (PKI) were rounded up and massacred in its aftermath and thousands more were imprisoned—many for decades.

Much of Ann’s anthropological and consulting field work was carried out in East and Central Java, which provided a hotbed of support for the PKI—including among members of the Javanese women’s association and labor federation.

The CIA at this time employed anthropologists and development workers as undercover agents to gather information on villagers’ political affiliations, in which Ann, according to her thesis adviser, Alice Dewey, had taken an interest."

 

"In March 1965, Ann married an Indonesian Lieutenant Colonel, Lolo Soetoro, whom she met at the University of Hawaii’s East-West Center, a “kinder, gentler version of the School of the Americas,” according to one writer, and “cover for a training program in which Southeast Asians were brought to Hawaii and trained to go back to create agent nets,” as U.S. Information Service (USIS) Director Frank Scotten described it.

The head of the East-West Center in 1965 was Howard P. Jones, U.S. ambassador to Indonesia from 1958 to 1965.10

Jones was present in Jakarta as Suharto and his CIA-backed military officers planned the 1965 overthrow of Sukarno, who was seen, along with the PKI as an ally of China.

Jones later defended the coup in The Washington Post, writing that Suharto was merely responding to a communist coup against Sukarno led by Colonel Untung—which was actually set up by the CIA.11

A friend of Ann’s told her biographer that the marriage to Lolo was arranged, suggesting that Ann may have acted as a female “honeypot” for the CIA whose job was to recruit assets and help them obtain U.S. citizenship.

Hailing from an aristocratic family which lost out in Sukarno’s land reform, Soetoro was recalled to active duty in July 1965 before General Suharto’s right-wing coup and worked as an army geographer in Java and Papua New Guinea, where the Indonesian army brutally suppressed popular revolts.

Soetoro went on to become an executive at Mobil Oil and its liaison to Suharto, whose economic policies Dunham praised."

Obama Sr. had been part of a State Department/CIA exchange financed in part by the Joseph P. Kennedy Foundation that brought future African leaders to the U.S. who were being groomed to serve U.S. interests in the Cold War.

Jeffrey Epstein’s newly-revealed private calendar showed scheduled meetings with the current CIA director, a college president and attorney who served in the Obama administration, according to a report published Sunday.

 

New documents, which belonged to the rich convicted pedophile and were obtained by The Wall Street Journal, showed planned meetings with a slew of prominent individuals, including now-CIA Director William Burns, Bard College president Leon Botstein, Obama White House counsel Kathryn Ruemmler and professor Noam Chomsky.

 

All the scheduled meetings were slated to take place after Epstein was jailed in 2008 on charges of solicitation, including soliciting a minor. WSJ could not prove each scheduled meeting actually took place, and the documents did not reveal the purpose for the meetings.

 

A spokesperson for Burns, who has taken the CIA’s helm since 2021 under the Biden administration, said the nation’s spy chief met with Epstein a decade ago when he was trying to leave the government.

 

"Director Burns recalls being introduced by a mutual friend in Washington, DC, and then met with him once briefly in New York City, about a decade ago as the Director was preparing to leave government service," CIA spokeswoman Tammy Kupperman Thorp said in comment provided to Fox News Digital.

 

"The Director did not know anything about him, other than he was introduced as an expert in the financial services sector and offered general advice on transition to the private sector. The Director does not recall any further contact, including receiving a ride to the airport. They had no relationship."

 

Ruemmler had dozens of meetings with Epstein following her work for the Obama administration and before taking the reins as Goldman Sachs' top lawyer in 2020, according to WSJ. The documents show Epstein was planning on Ruemmler joining him for a trip to Paris in 2015 and another visit to his private island in the Caribbean in 2017.

 

A Goldman Sachs rep told the outlet that Ruemmler had a working relationship with Epstein when she was employed at law firm Latham & Watkins LLP, but did not travel with Epstein. The spokesperson said Epstein introduced Ruemmler to potential legal clients, such as Bill Gates.

 

"Many of Ms. Ruemmler's contacts related to a potential representation involving the Gates Foundation, a representation of the Edmond de Rothschild bank, and other business opportunities," a Goldman Sachs spokesperson told Fox News Digital on Sunday.

"I regret ever knowing Jeffrey Epstein," Ruemmler said, according to WSJ.

 

The Journal reported that the majority of people they spoke to said they met with Epstein for donations or to make powerful connections. Botstein, who has served as Bard College’s president since 1975, said he met with Epstein to try to get him to donate to the liberal arts school.

 

"I was an unsuccessful fundraiser and actually the object of a little bit of sadism on his part in dangling philanthropic support," Botstein told the outlet. "That was my relationship with him."

 

Other prominent figures on the documents included:

Ariane de Rothschild, chief executive of the Swiss private bank Edmond de Rothschild Group; Joshua Cooper Ramo, who at the time served on the boards of Starbucks Corp. and FedEx Corp; former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak; Harvard University professor Martin Nowak; and anthropologist Helen Fisher.

Ajaypal Singh "Ajay" Banga (born November 10, 1959[1]) is an Indian-born American business executive.[2] He is currently the president of the World Bank Group.[3] He was the executive chairman of Mastercard, after having previously served as president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the company from July 2010 until December 31, 2020.[4][5] He retired from this position on December 31, 2021, and joined General Atlantic as its vice chairman.[6]

 

Before being nominated to the World Bank, he was the chairman of Exor, the Netherlands-based investment holding company controlled by the Italian Agnelli Family,[7][8] and chairman of the public-private Partnership for Central America with U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris.[9][10]

 

Banga is the former chairman of the U.S.-India Business Council (USIBC) representing more than 300 of the largest international companies investing in India, and chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce.[11]

 

Banga was elected President of the World Bank on May 3, 2023, having been nominated to the position in February 2023 by the Biden administration.[12][13][14]

 

In February 2015, President Barack Obama appointed Banga to serve as a member of the President's Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations.[31]

 

Since the 2020 elections, Banga has been an outside adviser to Vice President Kamala Harris as chairman of the Partnership for Central America where he has led a group of business leaders who have advised her on the administration's work in El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras.[32]

 

On February 23, 2023, Banga was nominated by President Biden to lead the World Bank. On May 3, 2023, the World Bank confirmed Ajay Banga as its fourteenth president,[12] and started his term on June 2, 2023.[3]

The World Bank, the Catholic Church, and the Global Future of Development

Contact between the two institutions has been sporadic. The Bank’s focus is projects with governments to address economic development, while the Church works mainly through social channels. Recently, however, the leaders of both institutions have articulated convergent approaches to human development that link economics with health, education, and the environment. As World Bank President Jim Yong Kim put it after his meeting with Pope Francis in October 2013, “We share a vision of a world with greater compassion for all people in need.”

 

This spring Georgetown’s new Global Futures Initiative is inviting faculty and students to explore that common vision and how to realize it in practice. A series of lectures by President Kim and his colleague Chief Economist Kaushik Basu are catalyzing conversations on campus and on the web, including one with 20 participants from Catholic and Jesuit colleges and universities around the world.

 

In that conversation thus far, bloggers from Mexico, Peru, the Philippines, India, South Korea, Japan, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Rwanda, and the United States have highlighted two areas of overlap and one difference of emphasis in emergent approaches to development within the Bank and within the Church.

 

Mental Models. Kim’s first lecture, on the Ebola crisis, highlighted the Bank’s recent work on mental models—the often unconscious ideas and values that frame problems and can impede the search for creative solutions. What Francis calls the “globalization of indifference” exemplifies a destructive mental model—the widespread assumption that economic forces are beyond our control and that fundamental questions of justice should not frame our policy thinking.

 

Social Inequality. In his first lecture, on global economic trends, Kaushik Basu discussed the Bank’s adoption of “shared prosperity” as a priority goal. The emphasis not just on extreme poverty but also on inequality parallels developments in Catholic social thought in recent years. As inequality has sharpened—the wealth of the richest global 1 percent is likely to soon surpass that of the other 99 percent—Francis has addressed it as “the root of social evil” and a threat to the global common good.

 

Accompaniment. A cross-cutting current within the blogs—the importance of personal engagement with the poor in a spirit of mutual respect—points to a difference of emphasis between the Bank and the Church. As an intergovernmental institution with a secular ethos, the Bank cannot approach human dignity as grounded in transcendence or in a Gospel command of love. Francis’ radical call to accompany the poor in their struggle makes development a personal, as well as a political, imperative.

 

Ultimately the World Bank, like the Catholic Church and other faith communities, acknowledges the importance of personal engagement in advancing social and political goals. Any appeal to rid the world of poverty involves a call to individual conscience. As Kim reminded the Georgetown students at the close of his lecture, “You are the first generation in the history of the world that can end extreme poverty in your lifetimes.”

The chief of staff for House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) was reportedly arrested on a drunk driving charge after President Donald Trump delivered his presidential address to a joint session of Congress, Breitbart News has learned.

 

Hayden Haynes, who serves as Johnson’s chief of staff was arrested for drunk driving “after his car struck a Capitol vehicle” around 11:40 p.m., two law enforcement officials and Johnson’s office confirmed.

 

According to a police report, Haynes was released and given a “citation to appear in court,” one of the sources told the outlet. Haynes is described as being “trusted” and has served as Johnson’s chief of staff since Johnson was voted in as Speaker of House in October 2023 in a 220-209 vote.

WASHINGTON – The Trump administration Wednesday abruptly removed an inventory of 443 federal properties highlighted by some of the federal government's most iconic buildings that had been listed for potential sale the previous day.

 

The online list was initially attached to a news release Tuesday outlining plans for "decisive action to dispose of non-core assets" and singling out federal buildings that had become "functionally obsolete and unsuitable for use by our federal workforce"

 

But on Wednesday, the General Services Administration's "non-core property list" was blank, with a new headline that read, "coming soon."

 

"We are identifying buildings and facilities that are not core to government operations, or non-core properties, for disposal," the updated page reads.

 

When asked why the list was taken down, Stephanie Joseph, acting associate administrator for the GSA's Office of Strategic Communication, said in a statement that the agency is reviewing the properties. She said it will consider "compelling offers (in accordance with applicable laws and regulations) and do what's best for the needs of the federal government and taxpayer."

 

"Since publishing the initial list on March 4, 2025, we have received an overwhelming amount of interest," she said. "We anticipate the list will be republished in the near future after we evaluate this initial input and determine how we can make it easier for stakeholders to understand the nuances of the assets listed. As we stated in our press release, 'GSA will continuously review and update the list of non-core assets.'"

 

Selling off underutilized federal properties is an idea pushed by billionaire tech entrepreneur and senior White House advisor Elon Musk, who oversees the Trump administration's Department of Government Efficiency, which has worked aggressively to cut federal spending and terminate federal workers.

 

Yet the push to sell federal buildings comes amid President Donald Trump's orders for all federal employees to return to their offices after some employees have spent many pandemic-era years working remotely.

 

Many buildings previously identified by the GSA across the nation are on the National Register of Historic Places or have recently undergone massive renovations. The list included the headquarters of nearly every major federal agency including the Robert F. Kennedy building in Washington, which houses the Department of Justice. Occupants of some facilities, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation's J. Edgar Hoover Building in Washington, have waited for years for congressional approval for a suitable replacement for their headquarters.

 

Democrats in Congress demanded an immediate explanation from the GSA this week about how the buildings were selected and why the agency didn't follow its own process of seeking public input about what the loss of a federal building would mean for the community and announcing a plan to mitigate any harm before announcing the buildings were for sale.

 

In a letter to the agency Tuesday, Minnesota Democratic U.S. Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith insisted on an explanation for why the executive branch didn't follow the normal process, saying it "appears to fail to meet any of these standards for good governance."

 

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, in an internal email reported by NBC News, said it "was not aware" its headquarters in Woodlawn, Maryland, the Hubert H. Humphrey Building in downtown Washington and several of the agency's regional offices would be included on a list of properties for possible sale.

 

"We didn't submit or approve any of our current office locations being on this list," the email reads. "This list has been removed from the GSA's website and we are in active discussions with (the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services) to ensure we have the facilities we need to return to the office in-person and continue performing our critical mission."

In a statement Tuesday, the GSA said it identified "certain core federally-owned assets" critical for government operations that would be retained, such as courthouses, land ports of entry, and facilities that are critical to national defense and law enforcement.

 

But the GSA said the federal government has more than 80 million square feet of rentable space across the nation that is becoming obsolete and unsuitable, representing more than $8.3 billion in recapitalization needs.

 

"We can no longer hope that funding will emerge to resolve these longstanding issues," the statement said, adding that the GSA will consider divestment from government ownership "in an orderly fashion to ensure taxpayers no longer pay for empty and underutilized federal office space."

How Google tracks Android device users before they've even opened an app

 

No warning, no opt-out, and critic claims … no consent

 

Research from a leading academic shows Android users have advertising cookies and other gizmos working to build profiles on them even before they open their first app.

 

Doug Leith, professor and chair of computer systems at Trinity College Dublin, who carried out the research, claims in his write up that no consent is sought for the various identifiers and there is no way of opting out from having them run.

 

He found various mechanisms operating on the Android system which were then relaying the data back to Google via pre-installed apps such as Google Play Services and the Google Play store, all without users ever opening a Google app.

 

One of these is the "DSID" cookie, which Google explains in its documentation is used to identify a "signed in user on non-Google websites so that the user's preference for personalized advertising is respected accordingly." The "DSID" cookie lasts for two weeks.

 

Speaking about Google's description in its documentation, Leith's research states the explanation was still "rather vague and not as helpful as it might be," and the main issue is that there's no consent sought from Google before dropping the cookie and there's no opt-out feature either.

 

Leith says the DSID advertising cookie is created shortly after the user logs into their Google account – part of the Android startup process – with a tracking file linked to that account placed into the Google Play Service's app data folder.

 

This DSID cookie is "almost certainly" the primary method Google uses to link analytics and advertising events, such as ad clicks, to individual users, Leith writes in his paper [PDF].

 

Another tracker which cannot be removed once created is the Google Android ID, a device identifier that's linked to a user's Google account and created after the first connection made to the device by Google Play Services.

 

It continues to send data about the device back to Google even after the user logs out of their Google account and the only way to remove it, and its data, is to factory-reset the device.

 

Leith said he wasn't able to ascertain the purpose of the identifier but his paper notes a code comment, presumably made by a Google dev, acknowledging that this identifier is considered personally identifiable information (PII), likely bringing it into the scope of European privacy law GDPR – still mostly intact in British law as UK GDPR.

The interim leader of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) informed congressional lawmakers on Wednesday that his team is preparing possible criminal referrals for individuals suspected of misusing taxpayer funds designated for foreign development programs.

 

Although the internal review is still in its early phases, members of Marocco's team believe they have identified a pattern of unlawful activity within the agency, which plays a key role in distributing U.S. foreign aid.

Supreme Court rules 5-4 Trump not allowed to block $2 billion in USAID payments

 

The Supreme Court ruled 5-4 on Wednesday against the Trump administration and sided with a lower court judge’s order for the government to pay around $2 billion to US Agency for International Development (USAID) contractors. The high court rejected the Department of Justice’s emergency application and sent it back down to the lower court for further proceedings.

 

The one-page order stated that the US District Court for the District of Columbia issued a temporary restraining order on February 13 blocking the Trump administration from enforcing directives that pause the distribution of foreign development aid funds.

 

On February 25, the District Court ordered the Trump administration to issue payments for part of the paused payments, which were for work already completed before the issuance of the temporary restraining order. This amounted to around $2 billion. A deadline was issued for the Trump administration to comply of 11:59 pm on February 26, hours before which the administration filed their request to intervene with the Supreme Court.

 

The unsigned order stated, "The application is denied. Given that the deadline in the challenged order has now passed, and in light of the ongoing preliminary injunction proceedings, the District Court should clarify what obligations the Government must fulfill to ensure compliance with the temporary restraining order, with due regard for the feasibility of any compliance timelines. The order heretofore entered by THE CHIEF JUSTICE is vacated."

 

According to NBC News, projects affected by the payment freeze included projects in African and Southeast Asian countries as well as Ukraine.

 

Dissenting were Justices Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, and Brett Kavanaugh. In the dissent, Alito wrote, "Does a single district-court judge who likely lacks jurisdiction have the unchecked power to compel the Government of the United States to pay out (and probably lose forever) 2 billion taxpayer dollars? The answer to that question should be an emphatic 'No,' but a majority of this Court apparently thinks otherwise."
