A massive rally of ultra-Orthodox Jewish Israelis protesting against military conscription today turned violent as the crowd threw bottles at a female reporter and a teenage boy fell to his death.

 

A packed crowd of an estimated 200,000 people, mostly men, clogged the roads around the Route 1 highway leading into Jerusalem today.

 

Photos showed many had climbed atop roofs of buildings, a gas station and onto cranes.

 

Video footage showed the agitated crowd stalking a female reporter from Israeli news outlet V1 who was covering the event before chucking glass bottles at her.

 

Crowds of men set fire to pieces of tarpaulin as hundreds of police officers cordoned off several roads across the city.

 

Demonstrators packed onto the tops of buildings, petrol stations, bridges and balconies above a sea of fellow protesters, some of whom held signs declaring: 'Better to go to prison than to the army.'

 

A helicopter flew overhead as people gathered to take part in collective prayers.

 

The Israeli ambulance service said a 15-year-old fell to his death and police said they had opened an investigation into the incident.

As I stood at my front door, it is still night here, around 6:05, I see a grayish white BMW 5 series just creeping up at about 5 mph and it came to almost a stop in front of my house, then when they saw me they continued down the block eastward. Right about then my eastern neighbor comes out with his dog and goes to the end of the driveway, which he never has done before. They are planning to make a move, as they are highly coordinated here because after I left the bank yesterday, on my way back, in front of the propane store, it appeared that even during all this rain, someone had dumped what 'appeared' to a 5 gallon pale of cyanide that was mixed with the puddles. Unfortunately I can only go one appearance as I had to avoid it as I held my breath, but in the 5 years of walking and many times during down pours, I have never seen a wash off coming from their stone driveway. Can't say it was for sure, but I can say without a doubt, that they do make it and use it abundantly.

So, the day I warned about the toxic vaccines, the cops came to investigate, and I was more than happy to show them, that I was a legitimate ground zero worker, showing the pictures and videos of me there, and previous, rather large, paychecks for working on Wall street, and giving my reasons of what transpired that assured me, the genocide game was on. I only did it because, I didn't want to kill them all, and was hoping they were more stupid than evil. But I was wrong. A Google executive said the company made “mistakes” while handling complaints of election fraud during a U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation hearing held Oct. 29.

 

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who serves as the committee chairman, showed screenshots of a YouTube video that allegedly highlighted how former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and President Donald Trump both voiced concerns about election fraud and then asked Markham Erickson, who leads Google’s Government Affairs and Public Policy Centers of Excellence, why the video was taken down.

 

“YouTube deleted it, blocked it and gave the creator a strike, a step toward deleting his entire channel,” Cruz said. ”Why would you remove a journalist’s record of the claims of election fraud from both democrats and republicans?”

 

The Epoch Times has been unable to confirm specifically which YouTube video, owned by Google’s parent company Alphabet, Inc., was being discussed during the hearing and has reached out to Cruz’s press office for a copy of the screenshots that were mentioned.

In a recent conversation with journalist Heather Cox Richardson, whose Substack he personally endorsed, Obama said the quiet part out loud: “We’re going to have to start experimenting with new forms of journalism” with “government regulatory constraints.”

 

“Part of what we’re going to have to do is to start experimenting with new forms of journalism and how we use social media in ways that reaffirm facts and separate facts from opinion. We want diversity of opinion. We don’t want diversity of facts. That, I think, is one of the big tasks of social media. By the way, it will require some government regulatory constraints…” Obama said.

 

He added that this should be done in a way “that’s consistent” with the First Amendment, while paradoxically arguing that platforms should crack down on speech “in the sense of inciting violence,” something already not protected under the First Amendment.

 

“There is a difference between letting all voices be heard versus a business model that elevates the most hateful voices or the most polarizing voices or the most dangerous, in the sense of inciting violence, voices,” he continued. “That I think is going to be a big challenge for all of us to undertake.”

DOJ indicts Democratic congressional candidate Kat Abughazaleh over ICE protests

A special federal grand jury has indicted Democratic congressional candidate Kat Abughazaleh alongside other protesters who allegedly blocked vehicles outside of a federal immigration facility in Broadview, Illinois.

 

The indictment, which was filed Oct. 23, alleges that Abughazaleh "physically hindered and impeded” an agent who was "forced to drive at an extremely slow rate of speed to avoid injuring any of the conspirators.” Abughazaleh was charged alongside five other people, including two other political candidates.

 

She faces one count of conspiracy along with one charge alleging that she “forcibly impeded, intimidated, and interfered” with an officer.

 

The indictment alleges that the group "conspired with one another and others, known and unknown, to prevent by force, intimidation, and threat, Agent A, a United States law enforcement officer, from discharging the duties of his office, and to injure him in his person or property on account of his lawful discharge of the duties of his office, and while engaged in the lawful discharge thereof, and to injure his property so as to interrupt, hinder, and impede him in the discharge of his official duties."

 

The defendants were not arrested but were notified of the indictment and will self-surrender next Wednesday, according to a court filing. U.S. District Judge April M. Perry, a Biden appointee, is assigned to the case.

 

“This is a political prosecution that tries to turn dissent and First Amendment opposition to the Trump administration’s cruel policies into a conspiracy,” defense attorney Josh Herman told NBC News in an email. “Kat has steadfastly opposed those policies and she will fight these charges with the same principled determination.”

 

"I have been charged in a federal indictment sought by the Department of Justice. This political prosecution is an attack on all of our First Amendment rights. I’m not backing down, and we’re going to win,” Abughazaleh wrote in a social media post.

 

Abughazaleh, a social media star and former journalist, is running for Congress in Illinois' 9th Congressional District, currently held by retiring Democratic Rep. Jan Schakowsky. She has been vocally critical of the Trump administration's immigration policies.

 

In a fundraising email to supporters, Abughazaleh called the charges "yet another attempt by the Trump administration to criminalize protest and punish those who dare to speak up."

 

She added that "Chicago doesn’t back down from bullies in masks who teargas our neighborhoods, this administration is resorting to weaponizing the federal legal system to scare us into silence."

 

Broadview, a Chicago suburb, has for months stood at the center of confrontations between immigration authorities and protesters. The facility has drawn activists from around the country as well as demonstrators from the greater Chicago area who have grown agitated over what they view as overreach by immigration officials.

 

The small suburb, west of the city, has faced its own struggles with the onslaught of protesters, to the point that it created a “First Amendment” zone where they could safely organize, and the mayor has restricted hours of protests to protect the sanctity of Broadview residents. Clashes between protesters and immigration officials have resulted in arrests and First Amendment challenges in federal court.

 

A federal judge earlier this month issued a temporary restraining order against law enforcement officials to curb the use of tactics like shooting pepper balls or throwing tear gas canisters into a crowd, particularly without warning.

Super PACs supporting Andrew Cuomo and opposing Zohran Mamdani in the New York City mayoral race have raised over $40 million, with millions coming from prominent billionaires and family dynasties, according to election filings.

 

New York billionaires Bill Ackman, Ronald Lauder, William Lauder, Barry Diller and Dan Loeb have all made large donations to a special committee called Fix the City that supports independent candidate Andrew Cuomo, according to election filings. Other non-New Yorkers giving to the group include casino mogul Steve Wynn and Alice Walton, the world’s richest woman.

 

The wave of big money highlights the growing fear of a Mamdani win by many of New York’s wealthy and national conservatives. A self-described Democratic socialist, Mamdani’s platform includes a rent freeze, free buses, free childcare for all and government-run grocery stores. To pay for the programs, he’s proposed an additional 2% tax on New Yorkers who make more than $1 million a year.

 

Even as Mamdani maintains a double-digit lead in most of the polls, a vast money machine built on several pro-Cuomo PACs has gained steam as Election Day nears. Fix the City is by far the largest of the so-called “independent expenditure committees,” political fundraising groups akin to super PACs that can accept unlimited funds and were created to get around the new York City’s campaign finance limits. They are not tax deductible to the donors and are not permitted to coordinate their efforts with a specific candidate’s campaign.

 

According to filings, Fix the City has raised over $32 million, with many large gifts coming after Mamdani’s primary win in June. Two other anti-Mamdani committees include Defend NYC, which has raised $2.5 million, and New Yorkers for a Better Future, which has raised $1.5 million.

 

A PAC supporting Mamdani, called New Yorkers for Lower Costs, has raised just under $2 million. The only known wealth donor to contribute to that special committee is Elizabeth Simons, the daughter of the late billionaire hedge fund investor James Simons.

 

Many of the largest donations to Fix the City came before the primary, including two gifts in June from Michael Bloomberg totaling $8.3 million. Bloomberg, who met with Mamdani in September to offer advice, has not made any donations to the group since.

 

Many billionaires have ramped up their giving after the primary. Joe Gebbia, co-founder of Airbnb, Tesla board member and White House chief design officer, gave two gifts of $1 million each to two pro-Cuomo PACs in October.

 

Gebbia declined to comment on the gifts, as did several other billionaires mentioned in this piece. Others could not be reached for comment. …

Top Trump Officials Are Moving Onto Military Bases

 

Stephen Miller, Marco Rubio, Kristi Noem, and others have taken over homes that until recently housed senior officers.

 

The former White House adviser Katie Miller—mother of three young children, and wife of the presidential right-hand man Stephen—walked out of her front door one Thursday morning last month and was confronted by a woman she did not know. When she told this story on Fox News, she described the encounter as a protest that crossed a line. The stranger had told Miller: “I’m watching you,” she said. This was the day after Charlie Kirk’s assassination. It also wasn’t anything new.

For weeks before Kirk’s death, activists had been protesting the Millers’ presence in north Arlington, Virginia. Someone had put up wanted posters in their neighborhood with their home address, denouncing Stephen as a Nazi who had committed “crimes against humanity.” A group called Arlington Neighbors United for Humanity warned in an Instagram post: “Your efforts to dismantle our democracy and destroy our social safety net will not be tolerated here.” The local protest became a backdrop to the Trump administration’s response to Kirk’s killing. When Miller, the architect of that response who is known for his inflammatory political rhetoric, announced a legal crackdown on liberal groups, he singled out the tactics that had victimized his family—what he called “organized campaigns of dehumanization, vilification, posting peoples’ addresses.”

Stephen Miller soon joined a growing list of senior Trump-administration political appointees—at least six by our count—living in Washington-area military housing, where they are shielded not just from potential violence but also from protest. It is an ominous marker of the nation’s polarization, to which the Trump administration has itself contributed, that some of those top public servants have felt a need to separate themselves from the public. These civilian officials can now depend on the U.S. military to augment their personal security. But so many have made the move that they are now straining the availability of housing for the nation’s top uniformed officers.

Kristi Noem, the Homeland Security secretary, moved out of her D.C. apartment building and into the home designated for the Coast Guard commandant on Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, across the river from the capital, after the Daily Mail described where she lived. Both Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth live on “Generals’ Row” at Fort McNair, an Army enclave along the Anacostia River, according to officials from the State and Defense Departments. (Rubio spent one recent evening assembling furniture that had been delivered to the house that day.) Although most Cabinet-level officials live in private houses, there is precedent for senior national-security officials, including the defense secretary, to rent homes on bases for security or convenience. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll, whose family is in Washington only part-time, now shares a home on Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, a picturesque site next to Arlington National Cemetery. His roommate is another senior political appointee to the Army. (When Driscoll moved in, his washing machine wasn’t working, so for the first few weeks of his stay on base, he lugged his laundry over to the home of the Army chief of staff, General Randy George.)

n July 2020, a young Catholic college student from the United States was killed in an extraordinary act of courage and love.

 

Now, five years later, his story may lead to sainthood.

 

The Diocese of Metuchen, New Jersey, has announced the formation of a commission to study the possible canonization cause of Daniel Mark Anderl, a student at the Catholic University of America who died at age 20 while protecting his parents from an armed attacker.

 

On July 19, 2020, Daniel was at home with his parents when an armed man—a lawyer with a case pending before his mother, federal judge Esther Salas—appeared at their front door.

 

Realizing the danger, Daniel stepped between the gunman and his parents, shielding them and taking the fatal bullets himself.

 

His selfless act of protection became known as a true “offering of life”—an expression used by the Church to describe those who die out of love, in the light of the Gospel.

 

Shortly after his death, dozens of parishioners from St. Augustine of Canterbury Parish, where Daniel had served as an altar boy and youth minister, sent a letter to Bishop James F. Checchio in August of 2020. In it, they officially requested the opening of Daniel’s canonization process.

 

The petition asked that the study begin based on the criteria for the offering of one’s life as detailed by Saint John Paul II and Pope Francis.
