Who Are the US Candidates Refusing AIPAC Money?

 

The litmus test for whether a politician is truly interested in representing the people who elect them to power is becoming their stance on Palestine, more specifically, Gaza.

 

As American public opinion continues to shift against Israel, the US political landscape is also undergoing a dramatic transformation. AIPAC, once viewed as an asset to aid in election races, is now becoming a liability, giving birth to a new generation of politicians who are demonstrating their sincerity through a refusal to be bought by the Israel Lobby.

 

While New York Mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani has perhaps received the most attention for his pro-Palestinian stances, he is in no way alone. In fact, he is joined by countless others who use their anti-genocide stances as a means of connecting with their voter bases.

 

All authoritative polling data suggests the majority of Democratic Party supporters currently hold a more favorable view of the Palestinians than Israel. According to a recent Gallup poll, 92 percent of all Democrats said they oppose the war in Gaza. Yet, the ability of candidates to reject funding from the Israel Lobby and freely speak their mind on the issue transcends a simple agreement with constituents on a single foreign policy issue.

 

Instead, refusing to take AIPAC money is rapidly becoming a prerequisite in order to be viewed as authentic, and it drives belief amongst the public that any given candidate will actually work to achieve key campaign promises. In other words, AIPAC equals corruption, and being pro-Palestinian equates to authenticity.

 

One of the most successful campaigns, coming from this new generation of politicians, is that of Graham Platner, who is a Democrat running for a seat in the US Senate for Maine. In his campaign ads, he promotes a “Mainers First” mentality, centering the working class and also explicitly opposing Washington’s support for the genocide in Gaza. He has publicly rejected funds from AIPAC, as opposed to Senator Susan Collins, who has taken at least $647,758 from the Israel Lobby.

 

Platner is a Marine Corps veteran who did four combat tours and also worked as an Oysterman. Despite countless attempts, from within the Democratic Party establishment and the Israel Lobby, to stir up controversies and undermine his campaign, the progressive candidate is still polling above his Democratic primary opponent and Maine Governor, Janet Mills.

 

Although the uptick in pro-Palestinian sentiment is more prominent amongst Democrats, there is also a notable shift amongst Republicans. Pew Research polling data shows that, while unfavorable views amongst Republicans overall stand at around 23 percent, amongst those aged 18-49, a whopping 50 percent said they viewed Israel unfavorably.

ILLINOIS: "A Democratic Illinois congressional candidate was indicted with five others for allegedly blocking vehicles during protests at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in suburban Chicago. The indictment was filed last week by a special grand jury, which accused 26-year-old Kat Abughazaleh of blocking a federal agent outside the ICE detention center, The Associated Press reported. Abughazaleh is running for Illinois’ 9th Congressional District and used to work for Media Matters."

Report: US Military Officials Involved in Latin America Campaign Required To Sign Non-Disclosure Agreements

 

US military officials involved in the Trump administration’s military campaign in Latin America have been asked to sign non-disclosure agreements, Reuters reported on Tuesday, citing US officials.

 

The report said the request is highly unusual, since US military officials are already required to keep secrets from the public, though it also acknowledged that the Pentagon has previously used NDAs under the leadership of War Secretary Pete Hegseth.

 

The news comes as members of Congress have complained about the Trump administration’s lack of transparency about the campaign, which has involved bombing alleged drug-running boats and a substantial military buildup, and a push toward a regime change war to oust Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

 

The US War Department has not provided any evidence to back up its claims about what the boats it has been bombing are carrying and hasn’t provided any information about the people it has been killing in strikes that amount to extrajudicial executions at sea.

 

In an interview on Sunday, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), who has been very critical of the bombing campaign, affirmed that Congress hasn’t received any information about the people the Pentagon has been targeting. “No one said their name. No one said what evidence. No one said whether they’re armed. And we’ve had no evidence presented,” Paul said. “So, at this point, I would call them extrajudicial killings.”

 

The Reuters report comes after the news that Adm. Alvin Holsey, the head of US Southern Command who has overseen the military operations in the Caribbean, is stepping down just one year into his command, another highly unusual move. According to The New York Times, he has raised concerns about the US military mission and the bombing of the alleged drug boats.

Social media buzz and humor: UFO or just a plane?

Many users appeared convinced that the lights captured on the FOX News feed were not conventional aircraft.

An account, humorously written, said, “Red on one wing Green on the other and white in the middle. Has to be aliens. Has to.”

Others joined the speculation, with one user joking, “Trump will make a deal with the aliens.”

 

Counterclaims: “It’s just a plane or building lights.”

Several users pushed back, offering more grounded explanations. A user commented commented, “Plane on final approach with landing lights on.

US Arms Firm Secures UK Ban on Palestine Protests

 

Court documents reveal aerospace firm Moog has obtained an injunction against protesters in Britain and even consulted the police about Declassified UK, John McEvoy reports.

 

A U.S. arms firm has launched legal action against pro-Palestine activists in Britain, it can be revealed.

 

Court documents show Moog, which makes military aircraft parts and has links to Israel’s arms trade, applied for an injunction in September to prevent protests at its U.K. sites.

 

The application, which was granted by the High Court, sought to stop “persons unknown” who “for the purpose of protest enter occupy or remain on” the firm’s facilities across Britain.

 

Moog returned to court earlier this month and obtained a wider injunction to cover interference with “access to or egress from that land and premises.”

 

This means protesters are barred from blocking traffic around entrances and exits and face risk of arrest on public land adjacent to the company’s sites.

 

Moog requested the injunction after its factory in Wolverhampton was targeted by a direct-action group named “Palestinian Martyrs for Justice.”

 

In August, four members of that group crashed through the factory’s gates and smashed its rooftop, allegedly causing over £1m in damage.

 

The activists accused Moog of supplying Israel’s largest arms firm Elbit Systems with aircraft parts “used to train Israeli pilots to fly F-16 and F-35 fighter jets”.

 

Declassified and The Ditch had previously exposed how Moog sent at least 10 shipments of trainer aircraft parts from Wolverhampton to an Elbit Systems site in Israel between December 2024 and July 2025.

 

Moog did not respond to our requests for comment at the time but Declassified appears no fewer than 44 times in the company’s first witness statements to the court.

 

The company went so far as to consult with Staffordshire police about Declassified’s work before our investigation had even been published, the documents show.

 

Amnesty International said it was “seriously concerned by the development of so-called ‘persons unknown injunctions’ by the British courts, and their impact on peaceful protest rights.”

‘Narco submarines’ found in Solomon Islands highlight Australia’s defence capability gap

 

Three mysterious vessels have washed up in the Pacific, exposing a dangerous vulnerability that could threaten Australia in ways far beyond just the drug trade.

 

Drug-trafficking “narco subs” are plying the waters around Australia, and the ADF is not equipped to deal with them, a national security expert says.

 

Three abandoned narco subs have been found in the Solomon Islands recently, beginning last August when a local doctor discovered one at the Ontong Java Atoll.

 

They were found empty but, alarmingly, it’s believed they were trafficking tonnes of meth and cocaine to Australian shores.

 

The doctor has since repurposed the 25-metre vessel into his personal boat, according to the local media team In-Depth Solomons.

 

In July, an almost identical craft washed up near Ramos Island. And earlier this month, a third was found in Malaita, and towed back to shore by two men who had been on a boat run to a local market.

 

Michael Shoebridge, founder of Strategic Analysis Australia, said the semi- or fully-submersible vessels were being used by drug cartels to transport drugs from South America to Australia, using countries like the Solomon Islands as stepping stones.

 

“These are low-profile, hard-to-find, hard-to-stop vessels. They can go about 10 knots, so it can take about a month to go from South America to Australia – and you can carry tonnes of drugs in them,” Mr Shoebridge told news.com.au.

 

“Their reach is now global, and unfortunately, Australia is an extremely profitable market for illegal drugs.”

 

Mr Shoebridge did not agree with the US military’s approach of attacking boats suspected of trafficking drugs in the Caribbean, where narco subs are a significant part of the drug trade.

 

“I don’t think the kind of extrajudicial killing we’re seeing the American government engage in is a precedent Australia should follow.”

 

But he believed Australia’s Border Force, navy, and air force should be working with Pacific partners to “disrupt and arrest drug smugglers”.

 

“The problem of very profitable drug routes coming from South America to Australia via the South Pacific is something that should be a higher priority than it is, and our navy is not well-equipped to surveil and disrupt these narco subs.”

 

The problem raised a disturbing question about Australia’s defences.

 

The low profile of narco subs in the water makes them very difficult, if not impossible, to detect on radar.

Stark new figures reveal outcomes of alleged childcare abuse investigations

 

The NSW childcare regulator has taken no enforcement action in well over half the cases it investigated involving childcare workers accused of the sexual or physical abuse of a child, the ABC can reveal.

 

An analysis of data obtained under Freedom of Information shows that over the past five years, roughly 70 per cent of investigations into allegations of child sexual or physical abuse at a childcare centre in NSW resulted in "no further action".

 

The released figures also detail for the first time how many reports of abuse have been made to the primary childcare regulator — the NSW Education Department's Early Childhood Education and Care Regulatory Authority (ECEC Regulatory Authority) — by childcare centres since 2020.

 

In the last five years, 1,856 allegations of child sexual or physical abuse were lodged by a childcare provider about a staff member, including over 400 reports last year.

 

But despite increasing rates of reporting, few investigations are resulting in strong action by the regulator.

 

Since 2020, the ECEC Regulatory Authority decided to take "statutory compliance action" — its strongest available power — in 180 cases, roughly 10 per cent of alleged sexual or physical abuse incidents.

 

This action can involve a worker being prohibited from the sector, or centres being fined or having their provider licence cancelled.

 

Of the 414 reports of child sexual or physical abuse made last year, data from another childcare regulator, the Office of the Children's Guardian (OCG) suggests roughly 60 relate to a sexual offence or sexual misconduct.

 

A spokesperson for the NSW ECEC Regulatory Authority said it investigated every allegation thoroughly.

 

"Where allegations are substantiated or there is an unacceptable risk to children, the regulatory authority will not hesitate to act to protect children's health, safety and wellbeing, including by prohibiting individuals from the sector, suspending or cancelling service approvals or taking legal action where necessary," the spokesperson said.

 

The authority has prosecuted 37 people and prohibited more than 200 from working in the sector since 2021.

FIRST ON FOX: Law enforcement officers have made more than1,700arrests in Memphis, Tennessee, in the one month since the Trump administration began surging resources to the notoriously crime-ridden city, according to statistics shared with Fox News Digital on Wednesday.

 

People were arrested for homicides, drugs, gun charges and sex offenses, and they included 126 "known gang members," according to the data. Additionally, seven dozen missing children were located and 293 firearms seized as part of the Department of Justice-led effort.

 

Attorney General Pam Bondi thanked Memphis’ Democratic leadership for its cooperation in a statement to Fox News Digital and touted the department’s successes.

 

"Tolerating crime is a choice. Under President Trump, we choose law and order: residents of our cities do not have to live in fear of violent crime," Bondi said. "Our federal surge into Memphis has put gang members behind bars, rescued dozens of children, and proven that collaboration between federal and local law enforcement can quickly make American cities safe again. I am grateful to all of our partners, especially Memphis leadership, for working closely alongside our agents."

 

A review by local outlet WSMV found that Memphis had the highest violent crime rate in the country in 2024. A city dashboard reflected a recent improvement, showing that since Sept. 1, serious crime in Memphis has dropped 46%.

 

The statistics provided to Fox News Digital also detailed several arrests. They showed an alleged All On The Blade gang member was arrested for first-degree murder, an alleged Bullet to Bullet gang member was arrested for attempted second-degree murder, an alleged Sureno 13 gang member was arrested while allegedly inside a stolen car containing methamphetamine and two Chinese noncitizens, including one allegedly in the country illegally, were arrested with more than $1 million in cash on them.

 

More than a dozen federal agencies are participating in the surge, which Trump announced as a "Memphis Safe Task Force" from the Oval Office last month alongside Bondi and other Cabinet members and Tennessee leaders.

 

A person familiar with the operation said the federal presence, including the National Guard, will remain in Memphis for now and that there is no set end date.

 

In addition to National Guard troops, the DOJ's components on the ground in Memphis include the FBI; U.S. Marshals Service; the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. A string of local and state law enforcement are also involved. The DOJ outfits began arriving Sept. 29.

 

The task force represents a broader trend of the Trump administration executing crime and immigration enforcement operations in blue cities that the president has described as crime-infested "war zones," a characterization that state and local leaders have widely rejected. Chicago, Portland and parts of California have all been targets.

 

In stark contrast to the mass protests and federal lawsuits that cropped up in those jurisdictions, Memphis has been more welcoming of the federal and military reinforcements. Tennessee is a solid red state, and Gov. Bill Lee, a Republican, approved of deploying National Guard troops to aid in the crackdown. The governor was sued by some local leaders over the decision.

 

Memphis Mayor Paul Young has been less warm than Lee to the task force initiative but has remained cooperative. His office did not respond to a request for comment.

 

In a viral clip, a Memphis resident was seen thanking Trump this month while saying she has no interest in politics.

 

"I will say thank you to Trump for bringing these National Guards and doing what they're doing down here in Memphis," the woman said. "For the first time in five years — I've been in my home for five years — and for the first time my kids have been able to play in the backyard and be able to do it comfortably. I haven't heard a gunshot in two weeks."

Pope Leo XIV officially declared Bartolo Longo, along with six others, as a new saint for the Catholic Church.

 

Longo was born in 1841 in Latiano, Italy, and trained as a lawyer. After the death of his father, he became involved in occult practices and reportedly served as a Satanic priest, engaging in extreme

Lockheed Martin announced a $50 million investment in Saildrone to integrate lethal defense systems onto the company’s unmanned surface vessels, with plans for live fire demonstrations in 2026.

 

The collaboration will combine Lockheed Martin’s combat-proven weapons systems with Saildrone’s commercially tested autonomous platforms to deliver armed USVs for the U.S. Navy. Initial work will focus on integrating Lockheed Martin’s JAGM Quad Launcher system onto the Saildrone Surveyor platform. Development of larger Saildrone vehicles is already underway to accommodate heavier payloads, including the Lockheed Martin Mk70 VLS launcher and thin line towed arrays.

 

Stephanie C. Hill, president of Rotary and Mission Systems at Lockheed Martin, said the partnership answers President Trump’s call for the defense industry to “act differently and leverage the strength of all of industry for our national defense.” She added that the companies are “combining the most sophisticated commercial and defense technologies to deliver a lethal naval solution at speed and scale.”

 

Saildrone’s unmanned vessels have been operating commercially since 2013 and were first deployed by the U.S. Navy in 2021. They are currently operational in combat theaters worldwide. Under the agreement, Saildrone will maintain shipbuilding responsibilities while Lockheed Martin serves as lead mission integrator.

 

“For the last 10 years, we have focused on evolving the reliability, endurance, and autonomy of the Saildrone platform, which has been demonstrated in over 2 million nautical miles of active customer missions,” said Richard Jenkins, founder and CEO of Saildrone. The collaboration will enable Saildrone to add electronic warfare, anti-submarine warfare, surveillance and reconnaissance, and kinetic capabilities, all integrated with Lockheed Martin’s command, control, and fire control systems.”

 

Production of larger Saildrone platforms will create jobs at Austal USA on the Gulf Coast, though the companies noted the work is shipyard-agnostic and could expand to other American shipyards as the program scales.

 

The investment aims to accelerate deployment of autonomous maritime capabilities for fleet defense, undersea surveillance, reconnaissance, and attack missions. The companies are focusing on integrating ready-now technologies with an open architecture approach to deliver operational capability as quickly as possible.

On the surface, this seems like the answer is no, they can’t.

 

The last line of the 12th Amendment says, “But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.”

 

And part of the 22nd Amendment says, “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice.”

 

Some constitutional scholars take that to mean that a two-term president would be ineligible to be VP because they can’t be elected to president.

 

However, there are those who argue that just because a former president couldn’t be elected again doesn’t mean they are ineligible.

 

The requirements to be eligible for president include being a natural-born citizen of the United States, at least 35 years old, and having been a resident of the United States for 14 years. Nowhere does it mention terms served?

 

The annotated constitution from the Library of Congress includes these questions on their overview of the 22nd Amendment, “Note also that neither Amendment addresses the eligibility of a former two-term President to serve as Speaker of the House or as one of the other officers who could serve as President through operation of the Succession Act.”

 

Another reason there isn’t a clear answer is because no one has tried it. In 2015 Hillary Clinton joked in an interview that she had considered former President Bill Clinton as her running mate, but he wasn’t eligible because of the constitution. So the answer will remain theoretical, until someone challenges it in court.

The letters, from Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., and disgraced former Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., reveal the lawmakers’ rush to hand over evidence before Republicans took control of Congress in 2023.

In those exchanges, they produced at least 16 interviews, deposition transcripts, exhibits, phone numbers and spreadsheets as part of their investigation into the events of Jan. 6, 2021.

One letter, dated Dec. 5, 2022, shows Thompson and Cheney informing Smith that while the body was concluding its work, they wanted to make the evidence they gathered “available to the Department of Justice.”

In that letter, the anti-Trump politicians told Smith he would receive “16 transcripts of interviews and depositions taken by” the committee, including “exhibits associated with those transcripts.” They even promised to facilitate “additional evidence as soon as possible.”

Just four days later, Thompson and Cheney wrote again to Smith, announcing the production of documents obtained from John Eastman and text messages from Mark Meadows, then Trump’s White House chief of staff.

“Along with the latter, we are producing a staff-created spreadsheet of the Meadows texts that contain additional information from privilege logs that Mr. Meadows provided to the Select Committee,” they added.

Even after those documents, they vowed to produce more materials to Smith “on a rolling basis.”

Now, the never-before-seen letters confirm what many suspected: the controversial committee worked “hand-in-hand” with Smith, the House Judiciary Committee said Tuesday.

Smith was appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland to target Trump after the 2020 election. Smith later used those materials to indict Trump, first over a document dispute between Trump and the Biden-led National Archives, and later over his objections to the certification of the 2020 election results.

The origins of that collusion trace back to the Jan. 6 committee itself, which was created in 2022 by then–Speaker Nancy Pelosi and excluded pro-Trump lawmakers.

A new panel led by Rep. Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., is investigating the 2022 committee’s actions, including allegedly criminal behavior, after accusations it deleted files, engaged in partisan activity and covered up misconduct.

Tellingly, both Cheney and Thompson received preemptive pardons from President Joe Biden for any wrongdoing committed during the congressional investigation.

President Trump’s Department of War carried out three lethal strikes on four vessels in the Eastern Pacific on Monday, killing 14 people and leaving one survivor whose rescue is being coordinated by Mexican authorities.

 

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced the operations on social media, stating that the strikes targeted vessels “operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations (DTO) trafficking narcotics in the Eastern Pacific.” The vessels were identified through intelligence and were transiting known narco-trafficking routes carrying narcotics.

 

The first strike killed eight individuals aboard a vessel, followed by a second strike that killed four more. A third strike resulted in three deaths and one survivor. All strikes occurred in international waters with no U.S. forces harmed.

 

Following the third strike, USSOUTHCOM initiated standard Search and Rescue protocols. Mexican SAR authorities accepted the case and assumed responsibility for coordinating the rescue of the survivor.

 

In his statement, Hegseth said: “The Department has spent over TWO DECADES defending other homelands. Now, we’re defending our own. These narco-terrorists have killed more Americans than Al-Qaeda, and they will be treated the same. We will track them, we will network them, and then, we will hunt and kill them.”

 

The strikes represent an expansion of the administration’s military campaign against drug trafficking organizations. Since early September, more than 10 strikes have killed at least five dozen alleged “narco-terrorists.” Last week marked the first known operations in the Eastern Pacific, expanding beyond Venezuela and surrounding waters.

 

The Pentagon has justified the operations under a determination that the United States is engaged in a “non-international armed conflict” with transnational drug cartels. President Trump told reporters this week: “I think we’re just going to kill people that are bringing drugs into our country. OK? We’re going to kill them.”

 

Secretary Hegseth has ordered the Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group to the U.S. Southern Command region to “reinforce operations against transnational criminal organizations.” The deployment adds to a Caribbean already crowded with U.S. destroyers, a nuclear submarine, and fighter jets.

 

The military effort runs parallel to the Coast Guard’s Operation Pacific Viper, which since August has seized over 100,000 pounds of cocaine across 34 interdictions resulting in 86 arrests. However, most seaborne narcotics shipments reach the United States via the Pacific, not the Atlantic, where U.S. forces are concentrated.

Indian officers and engineers who hold such documents will be banned from sailing, and the agents who market the credentials will likely lose their licenses to do business.

 

Unlike domestic-focused employment markets like the U.S. - where virtually all mariners obtain U.S. Coast Guard-issued licenses and work within the U.S. registry - Indian nationals can get their STCW certifications outside of India if they plan to sail foreign-flag (as about 80% do). They can get their licenses at another flag administration, then sail on a foreign ship by working with a Recruitment and Placement Service License (RPSL) crewing agency. Venezuela’s armed forces said Wednesday they had destroyed two Colombian “narcotrafficking terrorist” camps on its territory, in operations coinciding with a US military deployment against drug groups in the Caribbean.

 

The military razed “two logistical camps used by invading Tancol groups,” the head of the armed forces’ strategic command, General Domingo Hernandez Larez, said on Telegram, using an acronym employed by Caracas to describe so-called “armed narcotrafficking terrorists of Colombia.”

 

The general said pamphlets of the Colombian ELN guerrilla group were found, and ammunition, all-terrain vehicles, tactical vests, and fuel seized in the raids.

 

The ELN (National Liberation Army) insurgency group, holds territory near the Venezuelan border that experts say is an important source of coca and a gateway to the Caribbean coast — where Colombian cocaine begins its journey to the rest of the world.

 

Caracas has sought to showcase anti-drug efforts in the face of a massive US military deployment within striking distance of Venezuela.

 

Washington calls it an anti-drug operation, but Caracas fears it is a guise for military action to oust President Nicolas Maduro.

 

US President Donald Trump’s administration says Maduro is a drug lord, an accusation he denies, and has issued a $50 million reward for information leading to his capture.

 

Maduro insists there is no drug cultivation in Venezuela, which he says is used as a trafficking route for Colombian cocaine against its will.
