Justice Department to Monitor Compliance with Federal Voting Rights Laws on Election Day

WASHINGTON – The Justice Department today announced its Election Day plans for the Nov. 6, 2018 general election. The Civil Rights Division will monitor compliance with the federal voting rights laws by deploying personnel to 35 jurisdictions in 19 states.

“Voting rights are constitutional rights, and they’re part of what it means to be an American,” Attorney General Jeff Sessions said. “The Department of Justice has been entrusted with an indispensable role in securing these rights for the people of this nation. This year we are using every lawful tool that we have, both civil and criminal, to protect the rights of millions of Americans to cast their vote unimpeded at one of more than 170,000 precincts across America. Citizens of America control this country through their selection of their governmental officials at the ballot box. Likewise, fraud in the voting process will not be tolerated. Fraud also corrupts the integrity of the ballot.”

State and local governments have primary responsibility for administering elections in the United States. The Civil Rights Division is charged with enforcing the federal voting rights laws that protect the rights of all citizens to access the ballot on Election Day. Since the passage of the Voting Rights Act in 1965, the Division has regularly monitored all kinds of elections in the field around the country throughout every year to protect the rights of all voters, and not just in federal general elections. On Nov. 6, the Division again will be monitoring in the field around the country.

On Election Day, the Division staff members will be available all day by telephone to receive complaints from the public related to possible violations of the federal voting rights laws (1-800-253-3931 toll free or 202-307-2767 or TTY 202-305-0082). In addition, individuals may also report complaints by fax to 202-307-3961, by email to voting.section@usdoj.gov (link sends e-mail), and by a complaint form on the Department’s website: www.justice.gov/crt/votercomplaint.

Allegations of election fraud are handled by the 94 U.S. Attorneys’ Offices across the country and the Criminal Division’s Public Integrity Section. President Donald Trump urged supporters Monday morning that while there has been a historic turnaround for the United States under his administration, “it’s all fragile,” and they must get people out to vote.

Trump supporters from around the country joined the president and top Trump team figures on a “Lead One Vote to Victory Telephone Town Hall” conference call Monday.

The president pointed to what he called perhaps the finest economy America has ever seen, posting massive October jobs numbers despite multiple bad hurricanes. “They’re only going to get better,” he said of the economic numbers. “We have a tremendous opportunity to make things even better.”

Numbers will only get better, according to Trump, who remarked that he came into office during the weakest economic recovery since the Great Depression. He said the country is turning around rapidly and will have many quarters like the one that delivered 4.2 percent GDP growth under his presidency.

Trump said had his opponents in 2016 won, the economy could have, instead, been down 4.2 percent. He added that one element of surprise people have seen is the rapid pace of regulatory cuts, which have had a massive impact on the U.S. economy.

“Our economy is beginning to sing,” said Trump, who also highlighted massive trade deals: the USMCA with Canada and Mexico and KORUS with South Korea. He added that the U.S. is “now winning the war with China” in the midst of a bad trade dispute with them.

“The potential is tremendous unless we don’t do well in the election,” said Trump. “The election tomorrow is very vital because it really is summing up what we’ve done.” He added that the media are playing it as a referendum on his administration, saying if Republicans lose, the press will play it as the end of the world, and if Republicans win, they will not give them any credit.

He said the economy, people, and health care will give the Trump administration credit if Republicans win, even if the press will not. He pointed to his administration’s work to lower prescription drug prices, implementing “Right to Try” legislation and bringing accountability to the VA system.

“But it’s all fragile,” President Trump warned supporters on the phone, “We have to get out, and we have to vote.” He said that though he is not directly on the ballot, “in a certain way, [they] are.”

“We probably will do pretty well based on all of the numbers we’re looking at now because we’re seeing an energy people haven’t seen since the last election in ’16,” said Trump. “We have an energy over the last couple of weeks that people have not seen in the Republican Party, and it feels very much like ’16 because they love what we’ve done, and they want to keep it going.”

He urged the importance of keeping the Senate and House in Republican control. He said if that happens, “it’s going to really send a great signal.”

“Whatever you can do to ensure victory tomorrow, get out and vote, get your family, get your friends, get everybody to get out and vote,” he told the supporters on the line. “So important,” he emphasized, reminding them he will be holding three rallies later in the day.

“Everything I told you about, it can be undone and changed by the Democrats if they get in,” Trump warned. “You see how they’ve behaved. The National Council of Resistance of Iran highlighted this dangerous trend last Friday at an event in Washington, D.C., where they released their new book, “Iran Doubles Down on Terror, Turmoil.” The work is an extensive overview and analysis of the rising threat from Tehran from terror operations in the West.

The most recent incident was thwarted by Danish security services in September and involved assassinating Iranian opposition figures on Danish soil.

Many Americans are not aware of the extensive attempts at violence that have happened in the recent past in the United States and Europe. With Iran being front and center in the Trump administration’s foreign policy, this situation is unacceptable – Americans must become cognizant of the danger. As the Left, and the Iranian sympathizers in the West, push the narrative that Trump’s policy against the regime is wrong, and provocative, the realization among Americans of the threat posed by Iran is something than needs to happen quickly.

Iran is the most significant existential threat currently facing America as we attempt to right the ship from the appeasement and betrayal of the Obama years.

A forceful opposition to this threat, along with simply realizing the danger, is urgently required.

The Washington-based political arm of the PMOI/MEK laid out the regime’s goals in executing these terror plots. They include delivering a blow to the engine for change in Iran, primarily the opposition, and boosting the moral of suppressive forces, mainly the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corp (IRCG).

The NCRI laid out several steps that need to be taken by the West during the event last Friday in D.C. These include: prosecuting all Iranian agents in Europe and the United States; expelling all Iranian terrorist agents from both sides of the Atlantic; shutting down Iranian regime embassies in the West; and sanctioning all entities involved in planning, training, facilitating, and funding terrorism.

The NCRI declared that Iranian terrorism will not stop and continues out of utter desperation; a unified, international response is needed.

"A secret office operated by the CIA was destroyed in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, seriously disrupting intelligence operations.

AM: And Bill, in 2007 the FBI raided both of your homes along with other officials who had spoken out on the false premise that you guys had leaked classified documents or information to the press. What was that experience like for your and were you surprised by the aggressiveness of the response?

BB: Well yes, you see I had been cooperating with the FBI in their investigation into the New York Times leak for months, several months, about four months before the raid and when they came at m… it didn’t take me too long to figure out what they were really doing was trying to intimidate us because this was like the morning after the second day after Gonzales’ testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee about the terror surveillance program that the president had talked about which was–he only talked about the warrantless wiretaps at the time–but there were many other programs that involved CIA and also NSA that included spying on everyone in the country and building knowledge and understanding of their lives of everybody as they were living them. … So it was clear to me at that point that that’s why they were there. AM: Wow and Kirk, in the case of Thomas Drake, of course, it went a little bit farther to say the least. Talk about exactly what the FBI did to him.

KW: Well, let me frame it a little bit for you.

In November of 2009 Bill Binney and I received a communication from our lawyer. After we were raided in 2007, we went halfsies on a lawyer rather than pay two.

The lawyer was a former US prosecutor so we thought he’d know how to deal with the government.

He told us to lay low. In November 2009 he sends us an email that says “guys I just got an email from the Department of Justice.

They’re coming after you.” So Bill and I made an appointment with him an we went in to Baltimore and sat down at his desk and he was completely surprised by this move.

He thought it would go away. That was the end of that for the holidays. It was November when we got this message.

Come January, we get another email.

There’s a new prosecutor for the government.

The other one had left government, and we are being offered letters of immunity if we are willing to sit down with the FBI and the prosecutor for the Department of Justice and answer questions about Thomas Drake. And so Bill and I agree we’ll do that.

We knew Tom had done nothing wrong.

… We go down to the FBI facility just outside DC in Maryland and separately address questions

. The questions were mostly questions like “Did you meet with Tom Drake? On what occasion?” And of course we had lunch with Tom, said hello but nothing very interesting. “Did he talk about mulching papers, destroying evidence?” No, no, sorry. Tom’s an honest guy.

So long story short we get letters of immunity in February saying we are under no further threat in this entire matter (Bill Binney and I).

They then threw their attention on top and we think it’s because he’s the one who went to the press. NSA was very much trying to–and the government for that matter–send the message “If you work in the intelligence community and you talk to the press you’re going to get hammered.” And so they wanted to make an example.

Whether they won the case or not was not important to the government. They wanted to send a message and that’s why they went after him.

AM: And they actually said they reclassified this document that he had specifically taken was unclassified. Extremely shady.

BB: It was also material that they had independently released publicly and Jim Bamford provided that to the judge Bennett and the court.

ES: They found that we had all of the information that we needed, as an intelligence community, as a classified sector, as the national defense of the United States to detect this plot. We actually had records of the phone calls from the United States and out. The CIA knew who these guys were. The problem was not that we weren’t collecting information. They have to have the information to make the connection otherwise it doesn’t happen.

AM: Why expand the haystack if the haystack was already there, available and could’ve prevented the terrorism?

BB: Well the very simple reason they did that was for money. It was to build up an empire of an industrial complex around NSA and other agencies and that’s exactly what they’ve done. They spend on the order of $70 billion a year on contracts.

AM: Well let’s go along with the NSA apologists–Hayden, Clapper–who say that there’s no tangible evidence that the NSA is actually using this data against us so why should we worry?

KW: It’s a silly statement. NSA operates behind a wall of secrecy. You need a clearance just to enter the building. And so what goes on behimd those fences and facilities is unbeknownst to anyone except NSA. So NSA has a license to say what it wants to and no one has the ability to challenge it..

BB: I would also add that it’s not so much NSA using the data as it is law enforcement, FBI and DEA. They’re using this data directly.

They have ways and means of interrogating directly. Director Mueller testified to this to the Senate Judiciary Committee. He said he had access to a technology database which he put together with DOD where he could go in and get emails with one query, get all past emails and all future ones as they come in on a person. What he’s doing is he’s going into the NSA database because NSA and DOD is responsible for communications, that’s email. And so they got all these Narus devices around the network collecting all these emails. So they’re going into the base they’re creating, interrogating all this material to get criminal activity.

AM: Yeah, as Edward Snowden has said repeatedly this is about potential for retroactive prosecution. Kind of building this whole framework around people.

Donald Trump’s approval rating is not in the low 40s. You only can get that number if you poll a sample that is overweighted to people who don’t like Trump. Rasmussen, one of the more accurate pollsters in 2016, has Trump consistently around 50% approval, give or take a few percentage points. Trump’s approval rating has been GOING UP in recent weeks according to Rasmussen.

But Trump is not on the ballot you say? That is true; however, this election IS a referendum on the Trump agenda, and most Americans support the agenda, even if they don’t like the person himself.

Second, there are many races where polling has across the board shown the GOP significantly ahead, especially in recent days. However, the corrupt media will consistently call them ‘toss ups’ or leaning Democrat.

Nestle Continues Stealing World’s Water During Drought

Nestlé is draining California aquifers, from Sacramento alone taking 80 million gallons annually. Nestlé then sells the people’s water back to them at great profit under many dozen brand names.

The city of Sacramento is in the fourth year of a record drought – yet the Nestlé Corporation continues to bottle city water to sell back to the public at a big profit, local activists charge.

The Nestlé Water Bottling Plant in Sacramento is the target of a major press conference on Tuesday, March 17, by a water coalition that claims the company is draining up to 80 million gallons of water a year from Sacramento aquifers during the drought.

The coalition, the crunchnestle alliance, says that City Hall has made this use of the water supply possible through a “corporate welfare giveaway,” according to a press advisory.

A coalition of environmentalists, Native Americans and other concerned people announced the press conference will take place at March 17 at 5 p.m. at new Sacramento City Hall, 915 I Street, Sacramento.

The coalition will release details of a protest on Friday, March 20, at the South Sacramento Nestlé plant designed to “shut down” the facility. The coalition is calling on Nestlé to pay rates commensurate with their enormous profit, or voluntarily close down.

“The coalition is protesting Nestlé’s virtually unlimited use of water – up to 80 million gallons a year drawn from local aquifers – while Sacramentans (like other Californians) who use a mere 7 to 10 percent of total water used in the State of California, have had severe restrictions and limitations forced upon them,” according to the coalition.

“Nestlé pays only 65 cents for each 470 gallons it pumps out of the ground – the same rate as an average residential water user. But the company can turn the area’s water around, and sell it back to Sacramento at mammoth profits,” the coalition said.

Activists say that Sacramento officials have refused attempts to obtain details of Nestlé’s water used. Coalition members have addressed the Sacramento City Council and requested that Nestle’ either pay a commercial rate under a two tier level, or pay a tax on their profit.
