1997-2000 Advocates and the Lowcountry Children's Center hosted a seminal conference named "From Darkness to Light," highlighting the voice and resilience of adult survivors of child sexual abuse. This initial work laid the foundation for Darkness to Light as an organization.

2000 Anne Lee founded a Charleston-based nonprofit child sexual abuse prevention organization named Darkness to Light.

2000-2011 Anne Lee served as president and CEO of Darkness to Light. Under her leadership, the organization grew from a small one-woman nonprofit to a national force in child sexual abuse prevention.

2001 Darkness to Light added education to its mission. In 2002, 7 Steps to Protecting our Children: A Guide for Responsible Adults was published. 2001-2008: Darkness to Light developed and released an award-winning public awareness campaign, led by Young and Rubicam, which went national in 2002. Time Inc. ran full-page ads and CNN began running an aggressive public service campaign.

2005 The Stewards of Children® program was released to parents, youth serving organizations, and communities across the nation and globe. In 2006, Stewards of Children® Online was released in a web-based version.

2011-2015 Jolie Logan served as Darkness to Light’s President and CEO. Under Jolie’s leadership, Darkness to Light saw exponential growth in the volume and quality of distribution of the Stewards of Children® program.

2013 A new version of Stewards of Children®, updated to reflect current issues facing today's children and communities, was released. The online version of Stewards of Children® also received a complete makeover. The 7 Steps to Protecting our Children was revised to become the 5 Steps to Protecting our Children™: A Guide for Responsible Adults.

2014 Darkness to Light worked with the Texas Education Agency to provide over 100,000 educators with the Stewards of Children® program. This is the largest child sexual abuse training program ever undertaken.

2015 Darkness to Light has thousands of authorized facilitators who offer the program in all 50 states and 17 international locations.

2015 Board member Lyndon Haviland serves as Interim CEO. Whoa: James Woods To Host The Oscars?

 

No one in liberal Hollywood would nominate conservative actor James Woods to host the Oscars, but an op-ed in the New York Post suggests he would be “perfect” for the role.

 

The Golden Globe award show has taken a substantial hit in viewership since it began to take swipes at the president and focus on politics rather than honoring the talent of the actors, actresses, directors, producers, and others.

 

“With the 2019 Golden Globe Awards now upon us, only one thing is for sure: Not a lot of people are going to watch,” Jon Levine, a managing editor at the Wrap, wrote in a New York Post op-ed. “Ratings for the event last year fell 5 percent from their 2017 numbers and have fallen three out of the last four years. Oscars and Emmys? Even worse, with the 2018 shows declining 20 percent and 10 percent respectively from their 2017 ratings numbers.”

 

“How can the creative class convince millions of Americans who have tuned out to give them a second chance?” Levine asked. “To answer that, I have two words: James Woods.”

 

Levine argues that the actor known for his roles in “Casino,” “Videodrome” and “Once Upon a Time in America,” who is highly decorated as an actor, would be an excellent host for the gig.

 

He would remain true to the spirit of the award show while having a platform to challenge liberals and their disdain for Trump.

Its become very very difficult to do research and connect dots and thoughts.

Nearly impossible to collaborate with other anons.

The investigators have previously shown that eating roughly one egg per day was associated with a lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes among middle-aged men participating in the Kuopio Ischaemic Heart Disease Risk Factor Study in eastern Finland.

 

"The purpose of the current study was to explore potential compounds that could explain this association using non-targeted metabolomics, a technique that enables a broad profiling of chemicals in a sample," says early stage researcher and lead author of the study Stefania Noerman from the University of Eastern Finland.

 

The study found that the blood samples of men who ate more eggs included certain lipid molecules that positively correlated with the blood profile of men who remained free of type 2 diabetes. In addition, the researchers identified several biochemical compounds in blood that predicted a higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes, including the amino acid tyrosine.

 

The study suggests some plausible mechanisms which could at least partly explain the inverse association between egg intake and the previously observed lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Reports were being sent that Benghazi was unpredictable, and that the compound could not withstand a coordinated attack. Lyons also told us that there was “ten to twelve days warning. They knew it was coming. So, why weren't forces pre-positioned? And we had forces available.”

 

He went through the list, explaining that one of the forces was only an hour and forty-five minutes away.

 

“Now, we have a pathological liar who couldn't handle a compound in Benghazi and she wants to be president. Mind boggling.”

Five teenage girls have died at a Polish escape room, where a fire broke out while they were celebrating a birthday.

 

The 15-year-old girls were participating in an escape room game in Koszalin, northern Poland when a fire broke out around 5 p.m. local time (4 p.m. GMT and 11 a.m. EST), according to the BBC.

Police spokesperson Monika Kosiec said the bodies of the five girls were found in a room near the fire when firefighters put out a blaze.

 

A 25-year-old man was also seriously harmed and taken to hospital with burns.

I have been finding and repairing old cast iron power tools, like drill presses, grinders and table saws and such the past couple of years.

Either get 'em free or dirt cheap. Spend a few bucks on parts, most of it is elbow grease cleaning up rust and gunk.
