Prosecutors initially included a charge of abortion against the Queens man arrested Friday in his pregnant girlfriend’s murder — but rescinded it because of Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s new Reproductive Health Act.

Queens District Attorney Richard Brown sent out a press release saying Anthony Hobson, 48, would be charged with second-degree abortion as well as murder in Sunday’s fatal stabbing of Jennifer Irigoyen, 35.

But a DA spokeswoman later told The Post that the abortion charge “was repealed by the Legislature, and this is the law as it exists today.”

Cuomo signed the RHA into law on Jan. 22, the 46th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision.

The law removes abortion from the state’s criminal code and puts it into public health law.

It faced fierce opposition, with the New York State Catholic Conference warning that it “removes accountability for those who would harm unborn children outside the context of medical termination of pregnancy.”

Cuomo’s office did not comment on the murder case.

The White House directed the firing of former FBI Director James Comey in a manner that left Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein "shaken" over his role in justifying Comey's ouster, former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe claims in his new book.

In "The Threat: How the FBI Protects America in the Age of Terror and Trump," McCabe reportedly writes that Rosenstein was deeply uncomfortable with Comey's firing, telling him at the time that writing the memo "wasn't his idea," according to excerpts obtained by The Guardian.

“He said it wasn’t his idea. The president had ordered him to write the memo justifying the firing,” McCabe writes.

In his book, McCabe quotes Rosenstein as saying, "There’s no one here that I can trust," according to The Guardian.

McCabe describes Rosenstein as being "glassy-eyed" after he was allegedly ordered by the White House to draft the memo about Comey's job performance, writing that Rosenstein feared he was being used by the Trump administration as a scapegoat for Comey's firing.

Rosenstein testified publicly in May 2017 about the memo and Comey's firing, telling lawmakers at the time, “I wrote it. I believe it. I stand by it."

Excerpts from the book follow reports from The New York Times last year that Rosenstein's colleagues said he looked “shaken,” “unsteady” and “overwhelmed,” following Comey's ouster and expressed concerns that writing the memo had damaged his reputation.

A spokeswoman for the Justice Department last year dismissed claims that Rosenstein was upset with the White House, while adding that he was disturbed by Comey's decision to create memos detailing his interactions with President Trump.

“To be clear, he was upset not because knowledge of the existence of the memos would have changed the [deputy attorney general's] decision regarding Mr. Comey, but that Mr. McCabe chose not to tell him about their existence until only hours before someone shared them with The New York Times,” Sarah Isgur Flores said.

The White House and Trump have offered differing explanations for Comey's firing in 2017, as Trump initially claimed that Comey's handling of the special counsel investigation into possible ties between his campaign and Russia motivated his decision.

Photographer who sexualized minors in model shots said he'd done so for years, complaint says

A 52-year-old photographer is facing numerous sex crime allegations for allegedly assaulting dozens of models – some of them underage, the FBI said Wednesday.

The agency described Robert Arnold Koester as a "suspected serial sexual predator," in a news release announcing 57 charges in California and Oregon.

Koester is believed to have taken nude photos of models and is alleged to have sexually assaulted many of them, including people younger than 18 years old, the FBI said in a statement. He primarily photographed models on the West Coast and also went by the names Bert Kay, Rhake Winter and Qitooly, the FBI said.

He was arrested in November in Carlsbad, California, and is in custody in San Diego, according to the FBI.

He is facing 23 felony charges in San Diego County, including child sexual abuse and production of child pornography. Jonathan Lynn, an attorney at Wallin & Klarich, told CNN that Koester has pleaded not guilty to all of them.

Lynn said he "cannot comment on the charges from Oregon as I am not representing Mr. Koester in Oregon and grand jury proceedings are confidential."

In Yamhill County, Oregon, where he owns a farm, Koester has been charged with 32 felony counts, including first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, first-degree unlawful sexual penetration and causing another person to ingest a controlled substance, the FBI said. The Oregon charges involve four separate victims, one of whom was a minor, the FBI said. Koester's bail on the Yamhill County charges is $2.5 million, according to the FBI. It was not immediately clear if he has an attorney in those cases.

Koester also has been charged with two federal counts of sexual exploitation of a minor in California, according to the FBI.

Those two charges, detailed in a federal criminal complaint, center on allegations that Koester took nude modeling photos of two underage girls in separate incidents. In each photo session, Koester posed a girl in sexualized positions and touched her all over her body, including in her genital area, the complaint states.

He told investigators that he did so because he wanted to help "prepare her for a future modeling career with Playboy," according to a complaint. Another victim said that he told her he wanted to photograph her naked for a book he was making, the complaint says.

One of the alleged victims said that Koester told her not to tell anyone about the photos because he did not want to get into trouble because she was a minor, the complaint states.

After one girl and her parents went to police to report him, police obtained a search warrant and Koester was arrested without incident. He admitted that he had taken similar photos with other minors over the past several years, the complaint states.

"Koester argued that he took nude photographs of underage models to get them comfortable with taking pornographic photographs for their adult modeling careers," the complaint states.

Authorities say they have already identified victims in multiple cities across the United States.

The FBI said Koester could have potentially been committing crimes since 1994. The bureau is asking for the public's assistance finding other potential victims. Congressional testimony by Trisha Anderson highlights unusual process used by FBI and DOJ in obtaining FISA warrant on former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page

Ms. Anderson: “[So] there typically would be a cover note that would summarize the FISA. That cover note is generated by DOJ. And because of the time pressures involved and the sort of very-last-stop-in-the-process nature of the review, the SES review, that’s done, I wouldn’t read a FISA unless there were some sort of issue that was identified based on the cover note.”

Mr. Breitenbach: “You are, though, reviewing for the sufficiency of probable cause –”

Ms. Anderson: “After many people have reviewed that assessment. And so, as I mentioned, this was essentially a backstop to all of the other processes and the rigor that had been applied by DOJ attorneys and by FBI investigative and legal personnel.”

Despite the FISA application’s politicized nature and obvious sensitivity, it appears that no issues were identified in relation to it, as Anderson testified that she had not read the application, only the DOJ cover note:

Mr. Breitenbach: “Does that mean you read the FISA –”

Ms. Anderson: “No.”

Mr. Breitenbach: “Okay. So you did not read the FISA, but you would’ve been familiar then with at least part of the FISA with regard to the legal predication for probable cause in the FISA in order to be able to sign it?”

Ms. Anderson: “I would be familiar based on the cover note, yes.”

Ms. Anderson: “In the case of the Carter Page FISA, I was generally familiar with the facts of the application –”

Mr. Breitenbach: “Okay.”

Ms. Anderson: “– before I signed that cover note.”

Ms. Anderson: “In this particular case, I’m drawing a distinction because my boss and my boss’ boss had already reviewed and approved this application. And, in fact, the Deputy Attorney General, who had the authority to sign the application, to be the substantive approver on the FISA application itself, had approved the application. And that typically would not have been the case before I did that. Before, I would usually sign the cover note on the FISA application.

“So this one was handled a little bit differently in that sense, in that it received very high-level review and approvals — informal, oral approvals — before it ever came to me for signature. And so, in this particular case, I wouldn’t view it as my role to second-guess that substantive approval that had already been given by the Deputy Director and by the Deputy Attorney General in this particular instance.”

Rep. Meadows: “And did you read the whole Carter Page FISA application?”

James Baker: “I — my recollection is that I read the factual part of the initiation of the Carter Page FISA. I am not going to say I read –“
