Another aircraft crash with jackscrew issues

In the minutes before the crash, the two pilots reported problems with the MD-83’s tail-section horizontal stabilizer, which controls the plane’s up-and-down movements. The stabilizer is operated by a component called the jackscrew, which consists of a nut that rides up and down a screw as it turns to raise and lower the stabilizer.

Two years earlier, John Liotine, a lead mechanic at Alaska Airline’s Oakland facility, had found that the jackscrew on the same aircraft was worn out. He ordered it replaced. But the plane was back in service within a few days without Liotine’s work order

Liotine went to federal authorities in late 1998 claiming the airline was cutting back on maintenance and falsifying inspection records and work orders to get planes back into operation faster.

After the crash, Alaska said Liotine’s work order had not been acted upon because a second inspection team had retested the approximately $80,000 jackscrew and found it was within the legal limits of wear.

In the plane’s wreckage, investigators found metal shavings indicating threads on the jackscrew had been stripped, causing the part’s failure.

When the jackscrew failed, the stabilizer no longer could keep the plane aloft. Flight 261 plunged into the ocean.

Calling out Kelly Weill & Will Sommer for total hit piece on 8chan after the NZ Shootings

The article "Mosque Attack Video Linked to ‘White Genocide’ Rant" was just in notables. But what wasn't mentioned were the AUTHORS of this article: Kelly Weill & Will Sommer.

Sommer now has 15 anti-Q articles under his belt; Weill has seven. Some are written together. But one thing is consistent: all their articles are 100% hit pieces that eschew journalist objectivity. They know exactly what they are doing, and it's not journalism.

This outrageous quote is proof:

"8chan users cheered the attack online

with one replying to the original post with a picture of a man saluting."

The authors don't bother to note that the guy replying on /pol/ had no idea who he was replying to. He was probably shitposting; he thought the other guy was, too. Nobody in their right mind would cheer on a terrorist.

Weill & Sommer know three things perfectly well:

• 8chan is an open board; anyone can post

• any reply supporting a terrorist act was either a shill or a crazy

• the vast majority of anon responses expressed concern & horror

But that's not what they wrote. Their appalling coverage is an affront to not only Q and the patriots, but simple human decency.

Moar on Kelly Weill: Most people know something about Sommer (see eg >>5555854, >>4678761). But maybe less about Weill. However, she has written a particularly significant recent article: "How Fringe Groups are using QAnon to amplify their Wild Message."See >>5497591 .

In it, Weill says this:

Germany’s politics are being manipulated online. But the perpetrators aren’t the much-talked-about Russian trolls accused of meddling in U.S. elections. They aren’t bot accounts, either. They’re conspiracy theorists riding on an American hoax.

As we all have read, this flight was lost on radar & contact within 15min or so of take off. That said, I would assume there would be a full tank of gas. It landed in a field, where's the fire? Where's the smoke?, Why is the ground so dry? Why doesn't the debris look charred? Why is just anyone allowed to walk through the seen? Where are the official emergency crew and investigators?
