Things certainly got interesting on Saturday afternoon for those of us who had attended CPAC the week before. My phone started blowing up a little after 3 p.m. MST with the news that we’d had a coronavirus Patient Zero at the conference. During that frenzy of texts and calls that followed for the next half hour or so, many of us went from joking about self-quarantine to taking the idea rather seriously. It was a rather surreal way to spend a beautiful weekend day, talking about a plague that, frankly, many of us hadn’t paid that much attention to until then.

People get sick at CPAC every year. It’s called the “CPAC Plague.” Twenty thousand people milling about in recycled air for four days isn’t the healthiest environment. It was inevitable that the virus du jour would make a successful appearance at the event.

Honestly, I didn’t even know what the symptoms were until Saturday. One of the reasons that I haven't been reading about it is that – as I am sure my astute readers are aware – the news about coronavirus is a hot mess and sort of all over the place.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention – the institution tasked with providing information and being the voice of reason during outbreaks – has been a little coy thus far.

The media is stuck in a permanent state of awful on any subject that requires President Trump’s input, and they’ve certainly lived down to their reputation with this story. In fact, the CPAC coronavirus angle provided new opportunities for them to be awful:

This is not the teaching of the Church. The Church teaches that God had a plan and if Adam and Eve trusted Him, they would have been eventually provided the fruit. So not exactly orthodox to the best of my knowledge.

Literally the first commandment God gave was to be fruitful and multiply. Have 10 kids. That's the goal. Would He have done that if they remained in the garden? I think so. Boeing 737's Software Pushed Doomed Ethiopian Plane’s Nose Down Four Times Before Crash - Report

Airlines around the world grounded their fleets of Boeing 737 MAX 8 jetliners last March after two incidents involving faulty components claimed the lives of nearly 350 people.

Ethiopian investigators have released an interim report on the deadly March 10, 2019 crash of an Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8, confirming that a faulty sensor reading and the automatic activation of an anti-stall system were to blame, and saying that Boeing had failed to provide sufficient training to pilots.

According to the report, two sensors meant to indicate the plane’s angle relative to the ground showed faulty readings which deviated by 59 degrees, with this causing the activation of the Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System (MCAS), an anti-stall system embedded into the 737 MAX 8’s flight control software meant to prevent the plane from climbing too steeply and stalling.

The report found that in their final moments, pilots desperately battled with the MCAS software as it pushed the plane downward on four separate occasions before slamming into the ground.

The report cleared the pilots of any wrongdoing, saying they were fully trained, certified, and medically fit. It noted, however, the that pilots did not receive instruction from Boeing on how to deal with the activation of the MCAS system in an emergency situation.

Accordingly, the report recommended providing pilots with “simulator sessions to familiarize with normal and non-normal MCAS operation. The training simulators need to be capable of simulating [angle-of-attack] failure scenarios.”

The report also pointed to the potentially deadly flaws in the MCAS system, which it said “made it vulnerable to undesirable activation.” This included the ability to be activated with only a single angle of attack sensor reading.

The interim report was released just one day ahead of the anniversary of the crash of a Nairobi-bound Boeing 737 MAX 8 on March 10, 2019, with the aircraft slamming into the ground outside Addis Ababa six minutes after takeoff. The crash killed all 157 people onboard, and prompted airlines around the world to halt all 737 MAX 8 flights until further notice.

The March 10 accident followed the October 29, 2018 crash of a Lion Air 737 MAX 8 into the Java Sea, just minutes after takeoff from the Indonesian capital of Jakarta. All 189 passengers and crew onboard were killed in that incident.

The grounding of one of its most popular models of commercial aircraft put the US aerospace giant’s finances in jeopardy, with the company reportedly tapping over $7.5 billion of its two-year $13.8 bank loan last month amid weak global sales figures and penalties paid out to MAX customers.

My thinking on this is..

All of our peeps "get the virus" and then recover quickly … thus exposing the "panic" hoax for what it is.

The Bible Says That There Will Be “Pestilences” In The Last Days

Jesus specifically warned us that there would be “pestilences” in the end times, and so if we really are approaching the time of His return this is one of the things that we should be watching for. Of course we don’t know if COVID-19 is one of the “pestilences” that Jesus was referring to, but in recent days it has greatly distressed me to see so many Christians attempting to downplay the severity of this virus. The number of confirmed cases and the global death toll have both been rising at an exponential rate day after day, and experts are warning that over half of the population of the world could eventually get this virus, but so many voices out there are boldly assuring people that they don’t have anything to be concerned about even though they don’t have any medical credentials at all. Personally, I think that it pays to listen to the experts during a crisis like this, and the experts are telling us that millions could soon die. In fact, as you will see below, a doctor that sat on the White House Homeland Security Council is saying that this is the most “frightening disease” that he has ever encountered. After everything that we have already learned about this virus, anyone that is not taking this pandemic seriously is not being wise.

But is this just another pandemic that will come and go, or is this one of the “pestilences” that we were warned about almost 2000 years ago?

In Luke chapter 21, Jesus explained to His disciples what conditions would be like just prior to His return, and in verse 11 He specifically warned that there would be “pestilences”. The following comes from the King James Version…

11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

We have definitely seen a rise in seismic activity in recent years, billions of locusts are devouring crops from eastern Africa all the way to China right now, and Australia just had the worst harvest season that they have ever recorded.

So it is interesting to note that the stage is being set for some of the other signs that Jesus mentioned at the very same time that this coronavirus outbreak is starting to spiral out of control.

Only time will tell if COVID-19 is truly one of the “pestilences” that Jesus was referring to, but at this point it has become exceedingly clear that we should all be taking it very seriously.

This virus jumps from person to person with incredible ease, and it has a death rate that is about 34 times higher than the ordinary flu. In fact, the death rate for COVID-19 is actually higher than the death rate during the Spanish Flu pandemic. And let us never forget that the Spanish Flu pandemic killed between 50 million and 100 million people from 1918 to 1920.
